My rumor for the morning: I’ve been looking through machine translations of the foreign discussion boards. Someone on one of them has been told by their agency that it “appears” the CCAA will make it to around the 23rd or 24th of June.
This is the rumor thread. Please keep discussion confined to the other thread.

There was a rumor on the june board from Spain saying it the cut off date will be the 23rd and the CCAA will post this on the website next Monday, then they will send out another batch 3 weeks later.

so this rumour would have the CCAA shortening the time between referrals it sounds like. Has this been done in the past?
June 12th, 2006 at 1:12 pm
Yes - the CCAA has shortened the time between referrals in the past. They have also lengthened it. I would be thrilled with 3 weeks between referral batches (assuming they continue to refer the same amount and not reduce the number of referrals even further).
June 12th, 2006 at 1:13 pm
Hi -
Yes, the CCAA sent referrals twice in one month for two months recently - I believe they were December 2005 and January 2006. It may have been done that way in November, I don’t remember off hand. That would be nice. I don’t know how else they are going to “make up” any time otherwise!
June 12th, 2006 at 1:28 pm
Any news from agencies receiving packages??
June 12th, 2006 at 1:33 pm
well this is a rumour that I’ll root for then. :) even if they still manage somewhere between 5-8 business days per referral, that would help a bit.
June 12th, 2006 at 2:00 pm
If they are sent next week that would still be 4 weeks from the last batch, so we were expecting them next week anyway weren’t we. 3 weeks after that for another batch would be good though.
June 12th, 2006 at 2:04 pm
So with this rumor from the June Board - does that mean referrals will be sent on Monday after they post it to their website?
June 12th, 2006 at 2:12 pm
I am reallllly trying to be happy about this, too. But..it is just not there. I was reallllly hoping for the referals to go into June further than the 23rd. I can still hope. Progress is progress, right!#$@?
Thanks, RQ. You are a queen in my book.
June 12th, 2006 at 2:12 pm
last month they showed it as the 24th…then the three months before were on the 27th. so if they sent it next friday the 23rd then yea it’s 4 weeks from the last batch…you’re right Pam. the rumour says next Monday would be the day then another batch 3 weeks after…that would definitely be an improvement.
June 12th, 2006 at 2:13 pm
that’s how I read into it…
June 12th, 2006 at 2:28 pm
I feel like I am going to be sick! That’s a good thing! I am LID 6/23 and my stomach is doing turns with the excitement and anticipation that I really could be NEXT and SOON! I have been working really hard to guard my heart. SO hard maybe that I keep telling myself next month we’ll know something. I’ve said it so long that I don’t think my mind can wrap itself around the possibility that in a week or so I could be seeing my beautiful baby girls face for the very first time! I told my husband to “guard your heart” and then told him that the 23rd could be included. When those word slipped out of my mouth I began to sob like a baby. So much for guarding the heart as I was laughing and crying tears of joy that after 19 long months of saying to our kids “we’re going to have a sister named Maliah” that soon I will be able to show them her picture and make their imaginary friend come to life. We have loved her so long in our hearts … I can’t wait to put a face with the love that has grown there!
Still praying those rumors hold true and that those referrals will be sent next week. I think Sunday night I’m going to be a basket case waiting for the CCAA to change their site and see what really unfolds.
June 12th, 2006 at 2:33 pm
According to RQ’s chart the CCAA site was updated on Tues May 23 with the current referrals, so yes indeed if they update Mon that would be 1 day less than 4 weeks. I’m wanting to believe another batch in 3 weeks, but I think I’m getting to pessamistic to even consider it.
June 12th, 2006 at 2:40 pm
I’m on the June DTC list and I don’t put a lot of weight in that rumor. It was posted on Saturday, and said that the CCAA would be updating their site with new referrals “next Monday.” Many of us took that to mean today, and clearly it didn’t happen. Another member of the Spain boards said the rumor was actually something that had come from THIS site to the Spain boards, and as far as I can tell it was actually a composite of a number of rumors that were floating around this list–packages to agencies today, RQ’s post about how they could keep the wait around 12 months by sending referrals every 3 weeks, and the fact that the polls on this blog originally pointed to the 23rd as the cutoff if the same amount of referrals came this month as last. I would not get too excited or defeated about this particular rumor. And I’m saying that as someone with a 6/24 LID :)
June 12th, 2006 at 2:44 pm
maliahsmom, oh we are happy for you. Tears are good, enjoy yourself. keep busy !!

June 12th, 2006 at 2:46 pm
Just to clarify my last post… I’m not saying that referrals won’t be sent next week. I actually think they will be, and I think the 23rd most likely will be included, because I’ve been hearing rumblings from folks who have had it intimated by their agencies that the 23rd is likely in this batch. I’m hoping it’ll go at least one day further, so I can share in the joy this month too, but am not counting on it. That said, I don’t think that’s what the abovementioned rumor was indicating–I think it was saying there would be an update today, which hasn’t happened.
June 12th, 2006 at 3:24 pm
MaliahsMom & debann2000 - I hope you are both included this time. I will keep you both in my thoughts!!!!!!
June 12th, 2006 at 3:26 pm
i would expect to hear SOMETIME next week that the CCAA is sending the next batch…maybe not until the end of next week…but it is coming up.
it is true that RQ’s poll results point to the 23rd being the cutoff…along with the agency we’re using’s “predictions based on the current referral rate”. If it were possible it would be nice to see them just take care of the 24th as well since it was a Friday in ‘05. It is hard to not be pessimistic considering, but something’s got to give somewhere even if it is just them putting out the next batch after in 3 weeks instead of 4 or so.
personally the DW and I are just hoping to be referred, traveled, and back before the end of the year. that would be nice. (8.10 LID)
June 12th, 2006 at 3:45 pm
Our agency still reports 12-13 months from LID to referral, I truely believe it is speculation and they truely do not know either!
June 12th, 2006 at 3:49 pm
I think that referrals will show up the week of the 23rd myself. I have thought that for months and months. My son’s 6th birthday is the 23rd of June. We were logged in on his birthday and I would love for our referral to come on his birthday too! I think that would be very fitting. I have seen over and over the 23rd show up as a cut off in many places. I am just hoping that rings true in that in the least it gets in there somewhere this month. Like I said, I am working hard to guard my heart!
debann2000 …. I am SOOOOO hoping they will get in the 24th for you! I know it will be so hard for any one of us to be left off by a day. I keep telling my husband that if they only make it to the 22cnd or so then the bright spot is that I’d finally be able to say I’M NEXT! And the bright spot too is that our time is finally approaching. It’s been a long haul and if your anything like myself, it’s really hard to believe that there actually will be a day soon that I do get that call!
Praying for lots of days for all of our June friends who’ve waited so long!
June 12th, 2006 at 4:35 pm
It is interesting to note that the waiting times have NOT increased for those parents who have Chinese heritage, nor for those in the Waiting Child program. Chinese parents wait only 6-7 months from LID to referral. This suggests that there is not a lack of manpower nor willpower for getting the children “paper-ready”.
June 12th, 2006 at 4:36 pm
There are no rumours in the Spanish lists yet . Some people have called their agencies asking for information. ALL the agencies have replied they don’t know anything yet. The agency that is usually right has also replied that they don’t have any information yet, but the members of its staff seem to have contradictory feelings: some of them think that the next batch of referral won’t go beyond June, 24th; others have the “personal” feeling that it may go all the way up to June, 30th.
But, I insist, this is all speculation. No real information yet.
The agency that is usually right expects to have some news by the end of next week.
June 12th, 2006 at 4:51 pm
Maliahsmom-I am crossing my fingers for you! And also for you debann2000..to be so close and yet so far! Let’s all put positive energy into thinking that it will only be 3 weeks before the next batch of referalls..with a LID of 8/23, that might mean I get a referral this year!!!!! Lately my mantra has become “Prepare for the Worst, Hope for the Best”.
June 12th, 2006 at 5:02 pm
Thanks for your good thoughts everyone! Really gives me a much-needed boost. We waited 14+ months for our referral the first time around, so you would think I would be used to waiting. Apparently not :)
And Maria, I really hope the “personal” feelings of completing the month are true! But it’s at least nice to see the 24th mentioned for once, and not the 23rd!
June 12th, 2006 at 5:11 pm
Maria, if they actually did go through the 30th, I would be overjoyed! Please let that rumor be TRUE!!!!! If we get our referral by mid-August, we will NOT have to redo our 1-600A!!!!!!
June 12th, 2006 at 5:27 pm
Please, mommy2meiling, read my message carefully. June, 3th is not actually a RUMOUR. It is just mere SPECULATION by ONE of the members of the staff of the agency that is usually right. Other staff of the same agency think that the next batch of referrals won’t go beyond June, 24th.
June 12th, 2006 at 5:30 pm
mommy2meiling~we are in the same boat (no, tg, not the titanic). I would love our referal by or before mid-aug, it would save us from the redo of our government forms, not to mention the extra $$money. Once again, we can hope.

June 12th, 2006 at 5:34 pm
not the titanic?
how about the Andrea Gail?
this process has seemed at times like we’re in the middle of the perfect storm. :)
June 12th, 2006 at 5:48 pm
Honestly, don’t most rumors come from pure speculation? How do you validate a rumor? How many are based in reality, and how many are wishful thinking? That’s my point. Call it what you will. I am still hopeful!
Perhaps we are not on the Titanic or the Andrea Gail. To me it’s more like the SS Minnow, and we are just waiting to get off THIS island and over to Shamian Island!!!!
Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip…..a couple wanted to adopt……. ;)
June 12th, 2006 at 6:01 pm
mommy2meiling, what we call a RUMOUR in the Spanish lists is a piece of news that comes from one of our agencies’ representatives in China. The rest is mere speculation. But, just like you, I am also hopeful!!!!
June 12th, 2006 at 6:12 pm
For our first adoption we were told to expect a 12 month wait and it was 9 months. For this adoption we were told to expect a 6 month wait. We are knocking on 10 months door as I write. I think if we see through the end of the month it will be a sign of things to come. If we can get 2 weeks at a time for the next month or two that would help. I would love to see CCAA get back to 4 weeks of LID’s at a time.. and that may happen. You just never know.
I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for those of you with June LID!
(LID 8/24/05…. hopefully seeing a referral and travel before Christmas.)
June 12th, 2006 at 7:05 pm
mommy2 and tg, weathering this storm…thanks for the chuckle. enjoy your evening.
lid-8-8 she will be worth the wait………

Hi all,
First time poster, recent addict to this site. Like Rey Mim 32, I am hoping to avoid the ~$2000 additional costs of redoing everything. As a single, I had to wait for a spot. Additionally, as a teacher, I deliberately waited to submit my dossier so that my match would correspond with the, at that time, 6-7 month referral time, thereby allowing me to travel and be back by May and spend the 2 months of summer break with my daughter. Guess, I should have clarified WHICH May I was thinking of!!!!
With an August 30th LID, I am really hoping and praying that I get a referral by mid November at the latest. At least that way, I would avoid having to redo everything. Just in case that does not become a reality, I am now working a second job to have the money ready in case all the paperwork has to be redone this fall.
I have enjoyed immensely the way you all communicate and support each other. I am glad to be part of a community that can understand where I am. (At least for the summer, I don’t have to answer numerous questions from my students daily.
June 12th, 2006 at 8:16 pm
MOM2Isabel-
The best laid plans…we tried the same thing..as well as getting a second job, I hope thay you, and everyone reading this, continue to send letters to your senators/representatives, and the USCIS at least once a WEEK! We can’t let this issue get to the back burner! I’m hoping my 6 stamps per week will be worth the effort and will save me thousands in the end!
June 12th, 2006 at 9:58 pm
Yes, I think we should continue to lobby for the extention. The CCAI (not the agency) has been talking with CIS and they are sympathetic to our plight. I think the thank you’s to the Senators at the hearing will keep this issue fresh in their minds and is a good start. The letters we forwarded to CCAI helped our case and the hearing was really quite a sucsess. It was the first hearing like this (regarding Chinese adoptions) in a long time. The CCAI is trying to find data on previous I171H extentions granted for Chinese adoption in the past. I am aware there were extentions given during SARS. If anyone has anything that would document previous extention being granted or if you yourself have received one for a Chinese adoption–please email it to me to pass on to CCAI. The CCAI will use it to support the claim of a president having already been set in this matter. This may be just the leverage we need to get it done.
Thanks for the help,
Cat

Ooops sorry for the typo– meant precedent not president.
June 12th, 2006 at 10:37 pm
One last thing. Letters are best faxed aor emailed. If you do send it US mail, letters to Senators are best sent to their homestate office. The letters sent to Senators in D.C. take about a month to process because they are heavily screened for threats and danger since 9/11.

But there has been a significant increase in the wait also for parents of chinese heritage or for foreign parents with residence or previous residence in China. I for one received my referral after 3 months a couple of years ago…
