Is this promising?? Last time I brought this up it was suggested that one had nothing to do with the other. I’m no where near being a #s-girl but I believe in my gut that they are connected. My attitude is much more positive after today but when RQ is ready, I’m ready for a DTC/LID pole.

Scooby snacks for everyone! I am only 4 more months to being through the review room. Sorry, that makes me happy pathetic though it may sound.

WOW!exciting!
i am confused again, review means approved & waiting for referral?
or approved and waiting to be approved again @ referral?
thanks :)

waitbabywait,
It means that those dossiers are finished being reviewed and are now waiting in line in the matching room. Any questions or problems that the CCAA has with a dossier will be addressed during the time it is in the review room. The dossier will not undergo any more review procedures after it is out of the review room. It is simply waiting to be matched. Isn’t it exciting?!!

Good to see things are moving along! Another hurdle for those of you October LIDers!

Oh good! We had been told via our agency that November was in the review room, but it’s nice to see it confirmed!

I am LID October 31st. Does this mean I am thru the review room? The “before” part scares me…

Hey all,
I hate to say it but people have been denied (one recently, I think, from the July group) even after having made it through the review room. It looks like the review process is relatively never-ending, and that CCAA is actually becoming more stringent in their reviewing.

I’m assuming that it is possible that this July person was well aware of this situation since July was in the review room, but was trying to fight it.

Hi all, I’m new to this site, and I really have enjoyed reading all your posts! It is exciting when your LID group is out of the Review room…With an 8-08-05 LID, I remember that feeling well. My friends here and I just wish that the CCAA would take a break from reviewing and focus their attention on matching until they catch up. You know, use the people who are working so hard in the review room, and put their skills to use in the matching room. Oh well, we probably will never really KNOW their system. If only we could be flies on their wall….
Congratulations to the June LID’s who are receiving their referrals today/Monday…..

Melissa Anne–no, the couple who had their dossier sent back to them made it through the review room and did not find out until recently that they would not be receiving a child. They had no idea. Their LID was in July. So it does seem that once you are “out” of the review room, this might only be an initial stamp of approval, and that you can still be subject to more review.

I believe that there was some kind of communication problem that occurred with the couple. It is my understanding that they and their agency thought they had pre-approval, which the CCAA later denied had happened. There must have been some issue that made their agency think pre-approval was necessary. The couple did think they were okay and didn’t find out until far too late into the process. I’m going to hold on to the idea that this was an aberration and not the new trend. I’m feeling really great today knowing that our dossier has now left review, and I’m going to choose to believe it. I like life with rose-colored glasses. :o)

So is this LID July couple who’ve been refused different to the couple with the weight issue that was discussed a while ago? Does anyone know what the problem was for the 2nd couple? Is this happening more often? I wish we had a clear idea of what criteria CCAA is refusing files on.That announcement hasn’t happened yet as far as I know?
Lots of questions, i’m sorry, but this is so frightening for me that a file can be so far into the process and then be denied!! And how heartbreaking for those families I cannot imagine.

AFAIK, this is still the same July couple being talked about.
The thing is, we do know that their agency felt the need to get them pre-approved before they started the process, so we know that there had to be more problems than just weight, because last January when it’s likely they were getting started, none of the agencies were worried about weight. We didn’t start seeing a couple of agencies start screening for weight until later in the year.
Plus, we have another agency who contacted the CCAA to ask about this specific situation and whether they should be screening applicants for weight and were told by the CCAA that the couple was turned down for more than weight alone.
And finally, the couple has stated that their official denial did not give a reason at all. Again making me think there was some other issue that the couple does not want to share.
I do not want to cause any more grief for this couple, but I also don’t want everyone freaking out about this all over again. Not sure how to accomplish both.
The couple has every right to not share the reason they were denied. But originally they said they were denied for weight, and that caused a lot of concern by a lot of people.

Thanks for clarifying this,RQ….my freaking out is [ for now] under control.
I thought the thread was sounding like more families were being refused for unclear reasons.
I would never want to intrude on the July LID family’s privacy and distress. They’re going through hell I’m sure and I feel just so sad for them.
