One of the biggest agencies has told their clients that the CCAA will be closed for another week.

Ya know, once they’re finally settled and opened back up for business, what the heck will we have left to talk about? I mean, besides the obvious. I’m so sick of the CCAA moving thing it’s not funny. We’ve been hearing rumors of The Move for almost a year. I, for one, am OVER IT.

I can’t believe that we are unable, as a collective body, to get a definitive answer out of someone - anyone; particularly our agencies! Don’t some agencies have reps in China? Can’t they walk over to the offices and confirm - “yes” CCAA is open; or “no” CCAA is NOT open. The level of mis-information and ‘ignorance’ about this issue is actually staggering, and a little disheartening …

I haven’t seen any credible rumors that say that the CCAA reopened for business this week.
I’ve seen statements that they are in the new office building and still getting settled in, I’ve seen things saying it’s okay to start sending mail to them again. But most every rumor says they are still getting settled in and will be for anywhere from another couple of days to another two weeks.
I believe that they mailed some things off on their last day of work, and that those things arrived after they closed. Some people assumed this meant they were open again, but I believe the items received were sent just before they closed for the move.

Pam - they’re both coming at the same time. And, I’m not sure that they really conflict with each other at this point.

No, I don’t think they confilict at all, I was just hoping (although not convinced) that the tide was turning, so to speak.

If they are both true and we wait a little longer and get a lot more of July, that would be good for everyone (except those with LID 6/28-7/13 who it seems like are being slowly tortured)

My agency’s China rep hand-delivered our dossier to the CCAA today, so they’re at least “open” enough to have somebody to accept a dossier. Oh jeez, please tell me he didn’t just stick it inside the screen door b/c nobody answered when he knocked…

I hate to think this might be true (since I am LID 7/8) but didn’t the ‘european agency that is usually right’ say it would take until Aug 7 for the CCAA to get the next set of referrals out? I chose to ignore this because I was so happy that the cut off included my date …but now I am starting to worry they may be right. Where is our friend Maria with the inside scoop?

Maybe the good news is connected to that “most of August” rumor that wandered through here earlier. Maybe they are down for a while, but will send out referrals in earlier in August that will include most of August??? Sorry. That was such a good rumor I couldn’t help bringing it up again. But any news from any other late July LIDer would be great too!!!

My agency said they would be “closed” for a month, BUT it did not mean every section would completely stop working during the entire time. I’m guessing no agency knows when they are going to get back to work on the two things important to us.
They may need and not have access to “The Geek Squad” for all those computers they must use.

I just emailed you what my agency sent, RQ. But in a nutshell, they said their rep was in the CCAA building today and that they are “up and running”. I didn’t get info on the closure until a couple of days after hearing it here.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?????
THIS CANNOT BE! I NEED MY TA …. MY BABY IS WAITING FOR ME!
I cannot believe that I am being absolutely tortured right now! My agency has said nothing of us being delayed. We were told from the get go that our TA would arrive anywhere between 3-5 weeks and we’d travel anywhere around August 24th … this week is the 4th week. I am praying that since I have seen many others who were given earlier dates that my agency factored in the “move” before they even gave us tentative info. I can handle the 24th travel since that what my heart knew from the beginning …. HOWEVER …. I WANT MY TA AND I WANT IT NOW! I think after 21 months of paperchasing and waiting as patiently as I can it is time that I get to hold the baby girl I have prayed for for so long!
RQ …. find us some better news … where’s Maria and Spain … is she in China right now? She hasn’t been on the June group either!

Hi everyone! I’m new here. My log in date is 7-12-05 and I’ve been lurking for a couple of weeks. I have a question. If the time frame that we end up getting for traveling is over the holidays (I really, really don’t want to go to China in Nov. or Dec. b/c I have 2 other small children who will be crushed if we are gone over the holidays) will they let you wait and travel with the group that travels in Jan. or Feb.?

I just heard from my agency today that our representative in China has reported that the CCAA has completed the move and that they would be “settling into a normal working schedule this week.” They had no news, however, on the next batch of referrals, but are expecting TA’s in about 2 weeks from the last batch.
I’m optimistic that this big move will improve efficiency!! If they don’t do more than 2 weeks of LID’s this go around, then maybe we can look forward to big batches in the months to come!! (I can always dream!) LID 1/26/06

Yes, I just tried the website and it is down……hoping that means they are about to post, not that we’ve crashed it from too many of us checking, or something to do with computer problems and the move!! nosmommy—silly girl, you will be getting your referral in this next batch and probably traveling in Sept or Oct!!

FWIW, there is a post on one of the Yahoo boards from a dad saying his agency was in contact with their liason in China, and the liason says the CCAA is up and running but will not be making an announcement about it. No idea of accuracy of this, but as our dossier seems to have evaporated over international waters, I’m going with the hopeful stuff tonight.

I have been able to confirm with a former colleague of mine who is now based in Beijing (working for Foxconn) that CCAA’s relocation has been completed. They are now at a new address which he does not know how to translate to English. But it’s still in the city center area, not far from the old place. Their new phone numbers are (10)
6554-8801 and (10) 6554-8802. When he called the new office, he was told that there should be no delay on adoption progress due to the relocation.

I’m with those thinking that there’s “closed” and “closed”. Just because they’re too busy settling in to take phone calls or reply immediately to emails (for example), doesn’t mean they’re not getting some stuff done. Maybe they’re logging in while the matching room is settled…or matching while the TA department is set up. I just hope the mail room gets re-opened ASAP.
And the July 27th referral? Still think someone got told they were being mailed on the 27th. I daren’t even THINK about them doing all of July!! It’s ridiculous after this long but I’M NOT READY!!!!
