Discernment, rumors in the comments section
As I noted in one of the comments yesterday, someone posted a comment that someone on the July group had posted that their agency told them with a 7/22 LID that they are included. I’m told that what was actually being talked about on the July group was the rumor here in the forum saying this. No one on the July group was making this claim. This is called a circular rumor, and I take great pains to make sure we aren’t feeding into circular rumors.
I do not moderate comments. When someone posts something in the comments section I often try to validate it, and in this case I tried and I could not. As soon as I figured out what was going on I posted the correction in the comments to that thread.
So, when you see something in the comments section, if you can’t validate it yourself, then don’t give it a lot of attention until you see me do so. K?

Our Large China only agency sent notice that it was thru July 13………………………………… uggh….well better than none.

k, rq! i feel badly for later july lid’s if they got their hopes up on the circular rumor! good or bad i take to heart what you post, but only take the comments with a grain of salt.

Right, we know it’s 7/13.
My point is that three agencies were giving dates past that, and this comment could have meant there were four agencies predicting dates later in July.
All I’m asking people to do is to use discernment on the stuff that’s out there. I try to make it as clear as I can whether a rumor is trustworthy or way out in left field when I post them. But the stuff that goes into the comments section does not get that.
I don’t want to be a rumor mill, because I do not want to “create” rumors. I want to analyze the rumors that are out there and see if we can organize them into probable, possible, not likely, and BS.
Or some other method of organization. More on that during the next slow period.

I say HUGE HUGE CONGRATS to all getting their referrals…I do know a few that missed it again by one day though sad for them and Happy for everyone else.

Really sorry about that RQ……I posted that comment, having no way to check it on the July board. It seemed to fall in line with other dates in the 20′s that we were hearing, the person sounded so sure, and I fell for it….

No problem smalltowngirl, and I’m sorry that you’re comment had to be the example, as it’s happened before, too and you are not the only one. It’s just happening enough now that I felt I needed a reminder about, and yours is the most recent (and most talked about, apparently).

Hi,
I’ve been a lurker for a very long time but i’m sitting at my desk and reading all these comments (hopefully my bosses aren’t reaing this..) and i keep checking the CCAA site and wondering when it will get updated, i’m LID July 13 and i’m kinda of waiting to SEE the number on the CCAA site before doing my snoopy dance.
Any ideas on when that could happen??
