Poll Results
This was a very short poll, but the results do show that the CCAA cannot put through all of the rumored regulations unless they want to reduce their incoming dossiers by about 75%.

So, once again, I think most everyone is pretty sure that there will be some rule changes. And it sounds like the CCAA is dicussing a lot of possibilities. Some of those possibilities may end up in the new rules, others most likely will not. At this point we don’t know anything for sure. If you are paperchasing then do everything you can to get through as soon as possible. If you are waiting then, well, all we can do is wait and see what the final outcome is.

My worry is they will not grandfather some of the changes in order to shorten the wait in the short term. I guess the question they will need to answer is, which will cause the biggest PR nightmare: instituting new restrictions without grandfathering all of the categories or letting the wait go to 2 years.
I guess it is another bump on the rollercoaster, we just have to hope it isn’t big enough to derail our car.

I really don’t want to make another list of them. Here is the first post I made on the subject, and I did list some of them on that post.

There is a poll in the forum (see top left of this page) under General Discussions. The responses in that poll have all of the restrictions listed.

Thanks jj2china - I’d forgotten about so many of them being listed in that thread.
I wouldn’t say that all of the possible new restrictions are listed though - I breezed through them as I read the thread so I don’t know for sure, but there are so many different lists (each agency claiming to have information seems to have different information), I can’t imagine that every single thing made it onto the thread.

I got an offical email from our big agency yesterday addressing the rumors. They say that they have talked personally to the CCAA and were told by the CCAA that these rumors are untrue and if any changes are going to take effect the agency would be notified way in advance.
They also posted that in the past about how dossiers have been grandfathered and newbies getting more time to finish paperw0rk before the changes take affect.
I don’t know what to think abotu this, but our agency really never lets us know anythign about rumours - so this was a biggie.

Jeez, I never even saw this poll. My answer would be no, restrictions would have no effect.

wait4hannah: Sounds like we have the same agency…we got the same email.

I’m probably overlooking it, but I don’t see the poll that jj2china mentions that has the rumored new guidelines. Could someone post the link to it?
Thanks,

j4m4w, at the top right of this page, under the heading Site Navigation, click on Forum.
Click on General Discussions, and then on Would new regulations knock you out of the program?
In that thread are discussions that include the rumored new guidelines.

Thanks. I do see the responses to poll where people say they are over 40, discuss thier religious persuasion, etc. But I don’t see anything that shows what the CCAA is rumored to want to see in regard to these factors. i.e. What is the rumored age limit? What is the rumored financial status requirement? What do they want to see regarding religion, health status? Are these listed somewhere or are the rumors about the specific requirements not clear? Again, sorry if I’m overlooking something that is posted. My wife says that is a “man” thing… :^)
Thanks,

Rumors are all over the place. One agency says maximum age will be 45 and will apply to both parents (meaning both parents must be 45 or under). One agency says maximum age will be 50 but if one parent is under that then you are still okay.
And all of the new restrictions are like that. It is ALL speculation and possibilities at this point. Don’t get caught up in the details.
