There may be something to the “Labor Day” comment. I pulled a muscle in my back yesterday (ouch) and both of my labors with my sons started with back pain ! I think it’s a good omen :) Must mean our referrals are getting close.

Thank you guys all for the congrats! Dh doesn't quite understand why I'm stuck to the computer at least an hour a day, but after hearing about the nice response on our good news, I think he finally got it. It's the support, the support we all need. No one really understands the stress, the frustration and the absolute joy with every little step you take, like other waiting parents. Amygum, you asked why the IA-program in The Netherlands takes a long time. Part of our delay was because of my age, I just turned 30, 2 months ago. Just like y'all in the US we have to have homestudy and de the whole paperchase. But before all that everyone who wants to adopt has to take a course. An adoptioncourse. It is every other week and takes up 6 afternoons (or mornings). And for that course there is a waitinglist. We had to wait 18 months to start ours. Every IA-parent in the Netherlands waits at least 2.5 years for their child to come home. I repeat: at least! I think the average is about 3.5 years. I had a VERY good sleep with very GOOD dreams. Also, babyincite, I live in California too, and my home study is good for a year, so I'm confused that yours is good for only six mos. Also, I spoke to my agency director and she thought if and when new changes are implemented they wouldn't apply for us who are already logged in. .
