| I’m seeing news of early December still getting asked questions and now even a February person has been asked questions.
The only way to know where your agency’s particular reviewer may be is if someone from your agency has had to respond to a question and you are provided this information and what their LID date is.
Two people now say that their questions in the past week have related only to a weight issue. |

This is real progress! As someone who does not even have a login date yet (just submitted I-600A two days ago) and who already has 3 beautiful daughters from China, I have been able to feel oddly calm (for myself) during this period of slow referrals and ominous rumors, but I have been angst-ridden for everyone else who is getting close but yet so far. Finally some relief for all of you!!!!!!
September 1st, 2006 at 8:48 am
Congratulations to all November LIDer’s - it must be such a relief.
Being a Feb 06 LIDer - and mildly concerned about the “new” restrictions, is there anyone in the November group that was concerned about a particular issue (no need to divulge the issue)?
I hope this isn’t too personal,

September 1st, 2006 at 9:16 am
Wow, I have missed a lot in the past half day! Congratulations Novembers! I have reason to be excited as well with hearing that a Feb-review is already being worked on. Is there any data analysis that correlates dates of “months out of review” to dates of referral completion? I.E. are the reviewers getting further ahead. In the past has this then translated to larger batches or is this just a product of Nov/Dec/Jan being a bit lighter in the numbers department.
Also, what are the common weight questions that they ask? Being a slightly robust individual, is it time to hit the Y more regularly?

Congratulations November LIDs. As an October LID, I know how strong the feeling of relief and euphoria is when you’re finally out of review.
September 1st, 2006 at 9:35 am
Add me to that huge sigh of relief too!!!! I think we’re going to create our own hurricane here (or at least a Tropical Storm: Tropical Storm NovemberLID) with all this sighing!
RQ or anyone: in your opinion, do you think it’s safe to assume we do not have to worry about the coming new regulations if we’ve made it through the review room?
Anyway … it’s nice to know we’re in the matching room, even though it looks like it will still be months before we’re matched … more sighing.

September 1st, 2006 at 10:05 am
threeblesteps, so far, CCAA dates have always been inclusive even if they write “before”. Chalk it up to bad translation.

LOL, from good to bad. I just received notification from my agency that its six months until our I-171H expires and that we should now begin the process of updating our home study and gathering the required documents to refile… time to get out the check book again :(
September 1st, 2006 at 10:18 am

Congrats Nov-LID group!! With a FEB LID I am shocked to see that someone has been contacted. I thought two months at a time were in the review room. Could it be that with the move and additional staff that more months are being reviewed at once? Are the monthly reviews processed by date order?

DadInTheWings, I’m robust, too, and am hitting the gym 5 days a week because of all the scotch and stress food I have been consuming! When the time comes to redo the I171H, I don’t want to weigh one ounce more than I did the first time I went through that process. If I workout, then I can indulge. No workout and it is water and celery sticks for me!

ladtbuginnebraska: I have noticed before that we have the same LID, maybe we will meet up one day VERY SOON… the power of positive thinking. A great way to start the weekend and to all of you waiting for Ernie, I hope he is as anticlimatic as he was here. Between him fizzling out and us Nov LIDS being out of review it will be a great weekend.. No hurricane cleanup and relief that so far my SINGLE status is still o.k.

What a great way to start the Labor Day weekend. LID 11/22 and Single, I feel like I just jumped over a huge hurdle.
I know this has been answered here previously, but I can’t find it….how to copy the CCAA update from their site. I want a copy of it for my scrapbook.
September 1st, 2006 at 11:24 am
redladybug, simply right-click the image above (RQ’s copy) and select “Save Picture As”. Save it to your harddrive (My docs or something) and then you can do what ever you wish with it. It is a .gif image file.
September 1st, 2006 at 11:24 am
The easy way to do it for your scrapbook is to just print that CCAA page and then take scissors to it.
Or, if you want the image in your computer then open the web page up so you can see it (and make sure the mouse isn’t on top of it) and then hit “Print Screen” on your keyboard (this puts the screen image into your clipboard, it doesn’t actually print it on the printer). Then go into an image editor and paste the image into it and then you can crop it with the image software.
September 1st, 2006 at 11:25 am
Yeah, or you can just use my image - that works too - LOL.
September 1st, 2006 at 11:25 am
Question -
With the last batch, my agency received referrals from a new province - wonder if that’s evidence of new institutes being brought on / made available - has anyone else noticed this?
September 1st, 2006 at 11:27 am
Thanks RQ and Dadinthewings.
September 1st, 2006 at 11:51 am
hotmama- I’m with a small agency and they get referrals from several provinces so I didn’t really think it was a big deal (at the time) but I know RQ did a poll/post on this a few weeks ago… maybe someone else on here remembers exactly when that was.
September 1st, 2006 at 12:06 pm
Just wanted to chime in on the print screen option. There are options if you don’t have photo editing software. You can paste into an empty Paint document, or you can also paste into a Word document. In Word, use the picture and drawing toolbars to crop, adjust light and shadow, size, textwrap, etc…
September 1st, 2006 at 12:20 pm
Thats fantastic that some Feb LIDs are being asked questions, with a FEB LID myself, (2/24/06), maybe there is some light at the end of the tunnel - maybe
September 1st, 2006 at 12:26 pm
To gretchen: Yes, it seemed possibly significant (and positive) to me that our agency has for years and years only received referrals from X number of provinces, and this month got a brand new one. I will look for the poll / past thread on this.
September 1st, 2006 at 12:50 pm
WooHoo! Congratulations to all the November LIDers!!

It’s only Sept 1, I have to believe that this little baby batch is coming much sooner than the end of the month! YAY for December in the Review Room!
September 1st, 2006 at 2:29 pm
When we make a data request (I work in Accounting) we always say they must submit it “before (the close of business) on X date”. So the CCAA site seems almost logical under that way of thinking
Translation: Nov 30th has been reviewed IMHO
September 1st, 2006 at 2:34 pm
Yeah - FAQ, question 1
It answers it for placed, but the answer is the same for reviewed.

What are the weight issues that keep coming up? A particular weight, etc. WHAT are the questions - PLEASE?
September 1st, 2006 at 8:21 pm
RQ can you give us the amount or a close amount to those being ask about wieght? Any ideal of what is to much would help. Thanks
September 1st, 2006 at 8:26 pm
The rumor I’ve seen the most of says that anything over 300 pounds will get extra scrutiny. Some agencies are saying 250 pounds. It is understood that tall people and weightlifters may way over this amount and that is okay, but when you are over whatever the weight is and it appears the extra weight may keep you from actively parenting, or may have extra health issues that come with it, then there could be a problem.
I hesitate to give specifics, because everytime I do it just fuels the “freak out” about it all over again. This is still at the rumor stage. Please, no freaking out. If you are over this and you are paperchasing then HURRY. If you are over this and are LID then let’s hope this rule is grandfathered.
September 1st, 2006 at 9:33 pm
What happens now with reviews since people have to do homestudy updates? Will they have to be reviewed again? I mean if the wait stretches to 1-2 years, a lot can happen in a family. Are we going to start seeing 2 review dates?
September 1st, 2006 at 10:16 pm
The updates are for the U.S. government. Unless there is a major change that your agency feels obligated to report, China will not see the updates.
September 1st, 2006 at 11:10 pm
Thank you for the weight info Rumor Queen. I am over weight, but do not match the above mentioned amounts. I am Dec LID… & feel much more at ease now since reading your post of rumored weight restrictions. Being overweight has definately been on my mind as a possible rejection.
I wish I could fast forward to know the outcome of the December LID review room. Would love to know when CCAA will finish… Out of nervousness, I am eating everything in site & packing on the pounds.
