Ouch

At appears that other people have called Tater and have been told that either they won’t be giving out a date this time or they don’t know the date. One person seems to be saying that Tater knows the date but can’t give it out anymore. People are doubting that the first person was told the 8/15 date by Tater since Tater isn’t giving anyone else a date.

In slightly better news, I now have it from two agencies that the CCAA has started matching.

RQ, is it possible that the 8/15 could be correct, because they did a whole month in the review? Has this happend before? I mean, last month they did also whole november at once and now december. Could this mean a spead up? Why all those reviews, when they only match a few days?

  2. threebluesteps Says:

“last month they did also whole november at once and now december.” — whole november at once? I wish. November LIDs began to be reviewed last MAY and weren’t cleared from review until August: 4 months.

Which at least gives us a sense of how long it might take to refer November LIDs, relative to other months.

    Congrats to all Decemberonians!

  3. P_and_T_Quest Says:

    dutchdeb,

It seems thay they have been updating the review dates like this for some time now. I believe that when we came through the review, they either did multiple months together, or in VERY short succession.

Tot schrifts! (Ik ben ook Nederlander; I’m Dutch too – but came to the US when I was two, so I can speak/read Dutch well, but don’t write much).

  4. glassmaker Says:

Like RQ has said before the review room and the matching room do not work in tandem. The review room completes as much as they can no matter what the matching room is doing.

I hope the 8/15 date is correct but I am seriously doubting it. I hope I’m wrong!

well, guess all we can do is wait and see when those referrals start arriving.

What do the matching room folks do when they aren’t matching? Reviewing baby files?

Hoping and praying they will match far into August!

  8. Richard Says:

What do you mean by “the CCAA has started matching”. I always thought they continuously matched. Have they had a holiday or a break or something, or is the normal way of working that they start matching only the last (few) weeks before the referrals are done?

    Thanks

  11. CWS Says:

I will forever be stumped by the apparent need to keep APs in the dark re when the referrals are coming. Guess it boils down to either a “face” issue at the CCAA or too many low-guangxi agencies whining about not getting the same info. as the Tater-type agencies, or some combination of the above. At least it’s good to hear they are matching, so we know it will be soon… and I guess this month we’re better prepared to be blindsided… if it’s possible to be better prepared for such a thing. Sheesh.

  12. j Says:

CWS I couldn’t agree more. Why not just inform EVERYbody when a) matching starts b) they’re mailed? Even c) when they’re scheduled to start matching next month? Don’t tell me an organisation like the CCAA doesn’t run to a schedule!

  13. jj2china Says:

I just hope that once the managers of the CCAA shift their attention to something else our leaky faucet starts to drip again.

  22. tgredthread Says:

well,Cat’s right, i looked a bit at the threads that week of referrals last month. on the Mon 21st there was a post about there being no word that the CCAA was matching, then the 22nd and 23rd there were discussions about if they were matching (some thought so or at least allocating, etc.) but no one thought referrals would go out until the end of the month. then on Thurs the 24th we started hearing that referrals were showing up at some agencies.
i know our agency posted either late that wednesday or even thursday that they were informed the CCAA was matching only to find out that they had mailed them that Monday and they were arriving already. it was wierd.

we’ve heard now from a couple of sources that they believe the CCAA is matching and still nothing about when they may go out (our agency hasn’t posted anything…yet but feels we’ll hear something this week). So, either they’re already on the way or they’re going to mail out near the end of the week like most of us kind of think they will. RQ averaged like 30-31 days between referrals…that would be Thursday or Friday.

that’s my story and i’m sticking to it. LOL
just dying to know if they’re making it to us this time or if it’s going to end up being the next group.

  23. violet Says:

what about the Oct holiday? In 2002, our referrals arrived Oct 2…any data for 2003 on?

  24. paulm143 Says:

Regarding people doubting the alleged Tater client who was told 8/15. Here’s my theory: The rumor came a couple of days ago. I guess it is possible that Tater has agreed to continue to receive advance information from their “mole” at CCAA on the understanding they would not make that information public. If this is the case it is also possible that not everyone at Tater “got the memo” at the same time about not revealing this information to their clients. It is possible that this one client was given that date, that it is the real date and that someone at Tater caught the slip and made sure there were no more. Do I sound like I’m clutching at straws? It’s probably because we’re LID 8/9 and the only thing better than an 8/10 cutoiff in my opinion is an 8/15 cutoff and a noticeable pick-up in referrals so that we can consider starting our second paperchase in the middle of next year with reduced concerns about it taking 3 or 4 years to bring home a second baby. So, yes I’m probably clutching at straws, just as I have been for 6 months, but I hope not.

I don’t necessarily expect them to get to the 15th or 18th but it would be great. I have however, fully bought into the expectation that CCAA will match at least the first 8 to 10 days into August. I will be disappointed if we don’t get at least over a week into August. I have totally disregarded the 7-28 rumors! I want to see a big batch this time and then from here on out!!

    (LID Aug 23, 2005)

  30. tgredthread Says:

    still_a_waitin:

i’m with you on the fact of the CCAA doing at least something into Aug. the only thing I have to go on for that reasoning is that our agency didn’t have that many LIDs for that last week of July and they didn’t have anything until the 2nd week of Aug. AND, according to all the polls RQ’s ever done, there just doesn’t seem to be anything or at least they reflect that there’s probably not much for that first week of Aug.

Conspiracy Question? DO you think that the CCAA purposely withheld those dossier into Oct. so they could say that In October alone we had over 2000 dossiers and this is why we have the slowdown…etc.? I know it sounds crazy…but its a little odd how few the begining of Aug. dossiers have. And I thought I read somewhere that it took forever for LIDs that month (AUGUST). Just a question.

  33. SDmom23 Says:

What about that 3R rumor about the cut-off being August 18th? I’m still hoping on that one! Maybe alot of us will be surprised this time?! Either way, I’ll be happy with any amount of August getting referrals this month.

  37. GrammaG Says:

Being another eternal optimist, I tend to get “shot down” fairly often, but I am still liking that rumor of Aug. 18 that was out there a couple of weeks ago. My DD and SIL are LID 2-27 so we have to believe something will pick up a bit soon. We suffered the total heartbreak of a disrupted domestic adoption last year (they had parented a precious baby boy for 8 weeks before BM took him back). They are so strong but I just feel like it won’t really be OK until they finally have a child that no one will take away. I am amazed at the strength shown by all of the waiting parents. When my DH and I adopted 2 (toddler and infant) from Russia almost 9 years ago, we felt it was a roller coaster ride then, but in looking back, we know it was so very easy compared to what AP are having to go through now. That is not meant to encourage anyone to shift countries…Russia IA program has gone through many changes since then as well and has its own issues. As an AP, as well as Bio mom, I just say, Hang in there…it is worth it!

  38. cellule Says:

Richard, I am with you. I don’t understand how they could be “starting” the mathing process if they match the baby dossiers as soon as they arrived:

“baby dossiers are reviewed when they arrive and then immediately matched.”

    Anyone on this?

  39. RumorQueen Says:

Cellule, there is a lot they have to do in preparation before they begin the actual matching of family and child. The link I posted above explains my understanding of what has to happen before actual matching can happen.

  40. Leia Says:

GrammaG – My dad adopted a son from Russia about 9 years ago as well. He is just over 10 years old now. He and his older brother (bio son of my dad and stepmom) who is 13 are so much fun for us older siblings (I am 38 and my sisters are 40 and 42)

Love optimists so please keep posting!

sorry in advance if this gets double posted.

  41. amygum Says:

We are getting closer to referrals and this is always an exciting time of the month. I too may being an optimist (today :)) but I think that many signs show that we should see a speed up soon. How much of a speed up, who knows but I guess this wait time can not continue forever or those being logged in now will wait years and years and I just do not see that happening. I still hold on to the Nov in Nov thing and hope they were only off some, Dec? Jan? for us Nov people. They flew through December review and was that not rumored to be as big as November? Correct me if that is wrong. I think they just did not want the review room and matching to be WAY off so they slowed down there too, ie November 4 LONG months. I personally think this is the start of a speed up from where it has been. Do I think we will ever see 6 months wait time again, sadly no, but do think we keep hearing trying to stay at 12 months and I do believe they are working for that goal.

  42. Mom2Isabel Says:

    3tsmom-
Although some people experienced delays, I think many dossiers were processed quickly in August. I was DTC 8/23/05 and LID 8/30/05.

  43. still_a_waitin Says:

Our dossier, along with all of the ones from our agency, were received at CCAA on August 4th. Our agency simply assumed that they would be logged in on August 5th. It turns out that they were not logged in until August 23rd.

There was some type of backlog and it appears to have cleared up the middle to end of August. There are some folks whose dossiers were sent over later but they ended up logged in earlier. I guess when the folks doing the actual logging-in got back to work, they started at the top of the stack.

This backlog situation may have occurred again at the start of October.

  44. Leia Says:

What do you mean by “…or at least allocating, etc.” ? My understanding of the term “allocation” is that it’s the Australian term for a referral, as in “We received our allocation.”

    Am I missing something?

  57. tgredthread Says:

ahh you aren’t missing anything postfarm-

i was briefly skimming through posts of those few days and there was a point where ‘working on’ and ‘allocating’ was brought up. I guess I am using allocation in the same vein as ‘working on’ meaning they were putting them together but hadn’t done the actual matching yet.

For what its worth, my medium size, multi-country agency has a large group of LIDs on 7/27 and about 2/3 of that figure on both 8/11 and 8/18. Another China-only agency that I use in my own personal stats has two large LIDs coming up – 7/28 and 8/8. All dates are fairly spread out. ?

Our agency seems to think there are no LID’s the beginning of August, but of course we know differently thanks to RQ’s polls. Our agency doesn’t have any LID’s between July 28th and August 24th. At the time, the CCAA was referring whole months, so the delay didn’t bother me to much, but now it could mean several additional months wait and a lot more $$ with all the paperwork updates.

Hello Everyone, I’ve been reading your comments for awhile but this is my first time commenting or asking a question. We were DTC 8/05 and LID 8/26. We’re hoping for an Oct. referral??? I-171 expires1/07.
Do we know if CCAA will for sure send referrals in Oct? Have there not been times where they did not because of the holiday I guess? and trade fair??? I’m not sure I want to know the answer to this as we’re hopeful for Oct.

  78. slkc Says:

I keep hoping that the 4 months that November spent in review is not a sign of things to come in the matching room (or, as it may be, in the hallway outside the matching room)! It is interesting to speculate on how CCAA decides when to change their “out of review” date on the website. I thought that once the date changed it meant we were free and clear. But then someone that was in our travel group (same late November LID as ours) found out their application was rejected, right around the same time that the website changed to say that November was out of review (i.e. within a few days of it). I can’t remember the exact timing but I’m pretty sure that the bad news came almost immediately AFTER the website change. Has anyone else heard of anything like this? Can’t I finally breathe a sigh of relief that we “passed”?

    Mcginnisc and maeb-
You are both right on about the backlog last fall. We are part of a DTC group of seven families. Our DTC date was Sept. 1 and our LID was not until Oct. 13. Six weeks! I think it is safe to say that we are going to have to redo paperwork, but my agency still believes that we will have a referral at Christmas or around that time. (Maybe they are drinking as much as I am!?!)

  84. mcginnisc Says:

    kristinian,

We’ve already redone our HS and fingerprints.. Still waiting on the whole I 171H thing, though. It doesn’t expire until February, soooooooo………

Speaking of drinking.. I had a wonderful raspberry margarita the other night at Chili’s!! Mmmmmmm. :-) I don’t drink very often, but oh, I needed one.. I also saw the funniest movie ever the other night!! If y’all haven’t seen Talladega Nights, take a break from the internet, and go!!!! It is freaking hysterical.. I went with my SIL and friend for a girls
night out and it was so worth seeing…
Back to the issue at hand… I am really hoping for good news for everyone soon. I am shocked that your agency thinks Christmas!! Mine doesn’t give out guesses. They are super conservative and tell us to rely on the CCAA website for info. I am trying not get my hopes up for earlier than January at this point. Who knows…. We’ll just have to keep each other company for the next few months, huh???
