Half the Sky Auction
If you missed my previous post about Half the Sky, please read through it here.
HTS will be doing an online auction. The auction will be held October 17-24 on eBay/Missionfish. All of the items in the auction are donated by Half the Sky supporters. If you have something you would like to donate to the auction you can have the funds generated from that item go towards our total here. Half the Sky says that the following items have been very successful in previous auctions: books (children’s books; adoption related books); jewelry; dolls (Going Home Barbie’s, Passport Dolls, collector dolls); cultural/Asian items; artwork; quilts; new children’s clothing. They’ve also had some unique items like a weekend getaway at a location in the Bay Area and dinner for 8 prepared by 2 chefs.
If you have something you’d like to donate you can send it to: Carla Seidel 110 Ashley Ave. Reading, PA. 19606. If you’d like the funds to go to our total then just put a note in letting them know.
In addition, donators can list items directly on eBay/MissionFish to benefit Half the Sky at any time. If you have any questions please email Carla Seidel at volunteer@halfthesky.org
And, as a reminder, if you’d like to donate funds you can download this pdf form to fill out and either fax in with a credit card number or mail in with a check. Our own CWS added the blurb at the top that will credit your donation toward our total. HTS will let us know about once a month how much they’ve received in donations that were credited to us. I will create a page where I can post updates, and, of course, when I get the monthly email from HTS I’ll post it on the blog for all to see.

You can also donate to Half the Sky through United Way at your company. This is because they are a 501c organization. 100% of your contribution goes directly to them, and it makes it easy because generally they can just take it out of your paycheck.
