More information, but still an r4
A little more information has come in on the r4 part of yesterday’s rumor. Not enough to push it to an r5 yet.
I’ve kind of given myself a goal of having my r5 posts be 100% accurate, and my r4 posts at least 85% accurate.
I’m not going for any accuracy on the r3 or lower rumors because for those I’m just reporting the rumors and trying to figure out which are right and which aren’t.
But for the top two, I’m trying to make them be accurate. I don’t feel comfortable making it an r5 yet, but I wanted to let you know that I feel better about it even as an r4 today than I did yesterday. Cautious optimism. I’m not calling it a sure thing, but I’m really really hoping we see referrals either Monday or Tuesday.
So, once again, here it is as an r4.
![]() |
Coming from multiple sources, it appears that referrals were mailed Friday. It’s not an r5, and it’s certainly not a fact… but I will give this one an r4. |

RQ Just curious are the agencies reporting this only from the US or are other countries included in this one?
Wow could this really be it.

Old question probably, but when do they usually update their website - after the referrals get here? As in, should I cramp my fingers refreshing this site obsessively or CCAA?
Best wishes, new parents! I turn to sappy mush when I read about your new babes each month. It’s so amazing. Keeps us going.

Vtmama, I don’t know about when they “usually” do it, but I checked back through my old emails for the last stork alert my agency sent on a Friday. Assuming that referrals were mailed yesterday, under the old system, my agency would’ve sent out a Stork Alert then to let us know referrals had been mailed. The last one I had in my inbox that was on a Friday was Feb. 24. I then went to APC and according to posts from that time, the CCAA website updated Sunday, Feb. 26 and referrals began to be posted for some agencies on Monday, Feb. 27. So, there is hope for Monday referrals!

“Usually” does belong in quotes for this process ;-) Thanks for the info, sabrecmc. Cramped fingers crossed!

RQ,
great news but do you have any idea on cut-off date in ths r4 rumor? Or is the info you got only regarding referrals ARE really on their way?
Never thought I’d say this, but could this weekend end soon??? :)

I had a HORRIBLE dream last night. I dreamed that I woke up, checked the CCAA’s website and they had matched UP UNTIL 7/27!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I was crying in my dream, “NOOOO!!!!!”
On a happier note, I just discovered a lady bug on my ceiling. Happy thoughts!!

Rufsemaja, I know exactly how you feel. Although I normally enjoy having a relaxing weekend, I can tell that this one is going to just crawl by. So, I guess I will be patient just a little bit longer. I have to say though that when we started this process of “waiting patiently” after LID, referrals were only talking 6 months. We have now “waited patiently” for 14 months to a referral. We are ready for our referral and it cannot come soon enough. So, I gurss that we will continue to wait patiently (yeah right) this weekend, all in anxious anticipation for next week when we will receive the best news of our life. So, hurry up weekend, I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready. Hurry up weekend, and COME ON REFERRALS!!!!!!!!!

Nothing on the cut off date stands out more than anything else.
One agency hints that they aren’t going to get more than a couple of days into August, several are hinting to the middle of August, a couple could possibly (if you do the Sherlock Holmes thing) be saying somewhere close to a whole month this time. Oh, I’d prefer not to remember the original rumors that pointed to July 28th, but that’s still out there, too.
I have absolutely no idea of the cut off date. Unless you can say “between 7/28 and 8/23″ is having some kind of idea.
September 23rd, 2006 at 12:46 pm
Come on referrals! I don’t even hope to be in this month’s referrals but it sure will give me an idea where (if) we stand for Oct. with an 8/26/05 LID. And on an unselfish note–I’m hoping you late July/early August LIDers see your beautiful babys’ faces Monday!! Positive thoughts going out!
September 23rd, 2006 at 12:54 pm
I am still hopeful for a big part of August. However, I won’t be surprised if we don’t see it. I just wish we could beat 6 days. I really wish for a entire month. Come on Monday!

Mrs. U - The night before last I dreamed my cell phone’s special ringtone for my agency’s Call kept ringing, but each time it was something else, not the referral :)

i had a dream last night that i was at work (this coming) monday and was checking this site and saw that someone with an 8/11 LID posted they got the call. and i sat there a minute and then called my wife and said..”honey…you’re not going to believe this.”
i would say that i’ve not ever had a dream about this stuff (is that only a woman thing???) but the wife and I talked about it so much last night over supper…wondering and speculating/guessing…that it’s probably all my sub-conscious had to work with during sleep. LOL

Mrs. U & tg - I hope these dreams mean something! Last month right before the referrals arrived unannounced I had dreamt we were referred a bunch of older kids :) My post hasn’t appeared (yet), but I just wrote how the night before last I dreamt my cell phone kept ringing all day with the tone reserved only for “The Call”, but it always was something else… Grrrrr :)

oh and i have to add…our agency hasn’t posted anything yet about referrals being on the way. maybe they were still trying to confirm it and haven’t updated their site.
i’m going to “trust” that this r4 rumour is true…that there are many agencies reporting the referrals are ‘in the air’.
just hope we all hear something sooner than later!
oh and RQ…”I have absolutely no idea of the cut off date. Unless you can say “between 7/28 and 8/23″ is having some kind of idea.”… you got that right…love it! hehe

just peeked at your blog and noticed what you said about programming your mobile with either ’sweet lullaby’ or the ‘halleluia chorus’.
mine’s from Beethoven’s 9th…’Ode to Joy’.
glad i’m not the only with the ’special’ ringtone…lol :)
brilliant!

I know for a fact that our agency’s referrals were sent on Friday (remember China time). As of September 22 (Friday our time) they had touched down in the US about an 8 hour drive from our agency. We have the tracking # for them. We also know that they were shipped DHL. So, who knows how long it will take them to finish the last 8 hours of their journey to our office, but I think Monday is a very likely possibility, Tuesday at the latest. Just my guess. I hope this month is huge! I’m so excited for everyone and wished there was one for me too this batch, but I’ll be waiting - in good company!

i’m not sure exactly how all that works with other phones to be honest. i’m kind of tech-deficient in mobile phones. i just picked up a ‘pay as you go’ deal from Virgin Mobile and they have ringtones on their site for their phones. I read up on them and they don’t download from other sources. go figure.
but yes I definitely can’t wait to hear that song play..hopefully in a few days…i’d like to not have to wait those 4-5 more weeks.

That’s what I’ve heard. One of the families waiting to get referral is where I’ve gotten the information. I would be very surprised if they were incorrect. On Monday, I could find out for sure but that doesn’t help much. I don’t know why else they would have the tracking number and everything. I’m assuming he was furnished this by our agency. (I’m trying not to say too much here) I’ve tracked the package too and yup there I see it - yesterday it had been just a measly 8 hours away. I would bet every bet every cent I have on this - and hopefully would make enought $ to pay for our adoption! And, hopefully I wouldn’t be wrong either and loose everything! I’m giddy for all of you!

misformom and tg-
go to http://www.mixxer.com and see if your phone is supported. It’s a very easy site and it’s like $7 a year for all the games and ringers that you want. I love it, but my husband set it up originally and I am not sure how easy that is. But I bet the directions are on the site.
Now I really have to think of a good ring tone. We are LID 11/5 so I have a bit of time before the call. But I could just see my phone ringing in the store or something and me freaking out!

Could you please tell us what state your agency is in? I am hoping a monday delivery is possible for my Indiana agency also. Love to hear your agency was in a near by state. Thank you. Our LID is 7-26-05

mixxer didn’t have my phone :(
I did find a site for my phone, but the choices are mainly pop & stuff I haven’t heard of..
any good suggestions, I’m looking for upbeat & fun music, something popular so I can find it on this site.. It would be cool if it would tie in with adoption :)
I was so bummed they didn’t have Somewhere Over the Rainbow or any Phil Collins.. It did have Beach Boys, but Wouldn’t It Be Nice didn’t quite seem appropriate for The Call, LOL

Sorry, we’re in California. But, the package was in CA around 11:30am on Friday. I’m assuming freight still is moved over the weekend????? Still is possible I would think - but don’t know.

Tg, nothing about a cut off. Actually, nothing from my agency. This was me playing detective.
September 24th, 2006 at 8:50 am
I’d like to remind everyone that calling DHL to find out a tracking number is not cool if you don’t work for the agency.
The CCAA found out families were doing this a while back and they blew a gasket. They were very, very, very angry about it.
If you are calling DHL on your own then PLEASE do not even hint about it on this site.
Having your agency give you the tracking number is a different thing entirely, as it is perfectly okay for them to check on a package headed their way, and they are free to share that information if they choose.
September 24th, 2006 at 8:56 am
Sorry, RQ, I did not know that. Feel free to delete my post.
September 24th, 2006 at 8:59 am
Thanks so much for the info, detective sabrecmc! Would your agency “usually” have sent a Stork Alert email of some sort to all its potential parents by now, but this month they didn’t? (My agency doesn’t do this, so that’s unfamiliar territory to me.) I’m curious about the new leak-free procedure - would the CCAA object to an agency saying a package is on the way to parents not on that batch’s LID list? Maybe I’m mis-interpreting this one, but that’s a big bummer if “the keep-the-waiting-parents-in-the dark system” extends to that level. Almost six months LID, and I’m feeling like this round is so “weighty” in terms of our wait.
