I am assuming NSN, since it’s about time for them.
If agencies returned acceptances to the CCAA one week after referrals went out to their clients then we’re right at the three week time period.

When did most agencies get their acceptances back to the CCAA. We received our referral on 9/25 and because of the one week CCAA holiday our acceptance was only there this past Monday. One week from Sept 25th was Monday Oct 2nd the first day of the National holiday (the week they were closed) so even if acceptances were back to CCAA no one was there to work on them. Our agency felt it was better to have them arrive the day they returned back from Holiday so as not to have them sit unattended for a week. Still with all that in mind it would seem amazing (and wonderful) if they started to roll in next week. How did other agencies handle sending in their acceptances the week they were closed?

Cat – you’re right, not only did I miss-add the weeks since referral, I forgot about the following week being a holiday for the CCAA. So it’s technically been less than a week, which would be very early for TA’s.
But a few agencies have said they expect them. So I’m stumped.

That would be a shocker! I was not expecting to hear that for another two weeks! Can’t imagine they got them all done this week… Should I file this in the too-good-to-be-true area of my brain, or do you think there is substance to the rumors??

We got our referrals on the 26th and our acceptances (for all eight familie) were in by that afternoon so our agency sent them on the same day. Maybe other agencies did the same thing.
Either way, this weekend will go by WAY too slowly!

We received our referral on Wed, (9-27), received our paperwork on Thurs(28th) and returned acceptance letter on Friday(30). Our agency received it Monday(10-3) in the AM and sent it out that PM to China. So, they would have it first thing when they returned from Holiday. If that is true, some agencies expecting TA’s this week, then I might get really busy! I really don’t expect them until the last week of Oct, but next week would be GREAT! Thanks RQ, now I know what I need to do the rest of this weekend. Finish Packing!

Mee too= Thats amazingly fast. Especially since they needed to translate them too. Do all eight families live near the agencies?
Our agency received the referrals Monday, translated them Tues. and fedexed then close of day Tues. We received our referral packet on Wed and did all of our part that day and then fedexed them back that same day.They were back to our agency on Thurs. However even if they had then sent them all out then they would not have been to CCAA till Monday(the Holiday) so they waited to make sure they would be properly received. I kind of wish they sent them right out but even if they sent them out on Thurs or Friday that same week like Mendy’s agency did they would not technically be worked on until the folllowing week when they returned from holiday. It certainly we be interested to see when these TA’s arrive

For what its worth, our large China only agency is expecting SN TAs this week. They are way overdue. We got the last batch Sept 21 and we typically see SN TAs at our agency 2-3 times a month. We have many SN families waiting. So my guess is these might be SN TAs, or maybe both as our agency also gets both NSN and SN TAs in the same packet sometimes.

once TAs are received, what is the turn around time for the familes to travel. in other words, if the families receive their TA this week, when will they travel, and what is the typical timeframe between TA and travel?? thanks! x0 Jill lid 8/25/05

spent all night pondering this one because they just feel a little early to be the NSN TAs. then i thought about the possibility that the fine people at CCAA may have worked the weekend before the holiday and took care of those TAs from the people who returned them the same week as referral. now i just have to hope that some others worked the weekend after the referral so that ours will also come 3 weeks from when it got there. either way it is a good reminder to keep on working through that list of things to get done.

well, if it’s true and TA’s for NSN start arriving early this week then I’m going to reeeeeallly start getting excited. not only for those of you waiting for the TA’s…but for us because referrals shouldn’t be toooooo far behind.
hopefully those puppies will start arriving mid week of the 23rd…

tgredthread… I am so glad to see your post. I can not wait for you and your wife to get your referral. I can tell that you will be such wonderful parents. I hope those referrals come quickly. I can not wait to see more pictures of babies!!!

our refferal arrived at our agency on Monday July 25th. We signed the papers accepting the baby on July 26th and they went to China the next day. Our agency was told that because of the national holiday in China they did not start looking at our paperwork until October 8th. though i hope the TA’s are on their way it seems unlikely.
angelsinpower – our agency told us that we will have approx. 10 days from the time we get our TA to get to China. I am not sure if all agencies work the same. But when they sent in our request for travel they sent in requests for our appointment dates to do our paperwork in China. Our agency usually has people fly on Friday, arrive china Saturday, travel to orphanage city on sunday and get your baby on monday. depending on when the TA’s arrive they think that we would be flying either november 3rd or november 10th.
if we end up going on the 10th (or even worse nov 17th) it will be tough because we will get stuck in guangzhou for thanksgiving since the US consolate closes for the holiday and we will not be able to finish the paper work to get back in to the US until the consolate re-opens.
fingers crossed for home for the holidays!
