Some clarifications
For those who aren’t familiar with the rumor ratings, you can find more information about them here.
![]() |
The rumor about the CCAA going by DTC instead of LID is an r2. Something to keep an eye on, but I really don’t think it will happen. |
![]() |
The rumor that the 31st will not be included comes from a very very reliable source, but I only have it from one person. |
![]() |
The rumor that the 30th will not be included comes from a reliable source, but I only have it from one person. |
![]() |
The rumor that the 23rd is included and that referrals will arrive next week is an r3. It comes from a reputable agency and I have it from several people. |
The second and third r2′s could easily be r3′s, but I need to hear from some more people before I’m comfortable doing that.
Saying that the referral cut-off will likely be between 8/23 and 8/29 (inclusive) is probably a safe bet, but it’s still only based on r2′s and an r3.

RQ,
Thanks for organizing all of this for us!

Okay, breathe. With an LID 8/26/05 must prepare mentally for a November referral. Must not think about October. Focus on November. IMPOSSIBLE! Someone pass me a paper bag, also!

Hello everybody,
Breath in, breath out……and now move over!!!!

Is there anyway to do any work with all this heavy breathing going on? (LID 8/25)
OT, here’s a succession question: RQ has obviously done a tremendous public service here. What happens when her referral comes through? Does the Queen’s crown (not to mention the very large ears) get passed on?
October 17th, 2006 at 6:47 pm
Just wanted to say Congrats to all those getting ready to see their baby’s face for the first time! I really hope the rumors are true and that you get a great surprise early next week!Hang in there- before you know it, the referrals will be here! Lucky ducks!

LID 5/30/06…. in for the long haul!
October 17th, 2006 at 6:56 pm
I’ve been reading this site for a few months now and it’s getting pretty interesting. Our LID is September 5, 2005. We are almost there. Good luck to the August LID’s. From Canada-Québec.

Mr. klotzian,
You can find the answer to that question in the FAQs.

I hope somehow they can do the 30th as well… I am in need of some good news. (LID 8-30-05)
October 17th, 2006 at 7:36 pm
kennyt,
I have to tell you, I’ve been guarded for months that we 8/30′ers would see a referral prior to December. A referral this month would cause me to fall over in a dead faint. I’m only cautiously optimistic that we will see a referral in November.
I too hope that somehow they get through the 30th. Good news has been very long in coming!
Cheers

Kennyt and chasdav6us-
I am SOOO with you guys! I am mentally prepared for a November referral but have felt for over 8 months that I would see her face in October. I decided last month to hold off on redoing my 171 (expiration 2/1/06) until the October referrals came out…just in case!!!!!!
Wow, can you imagine…..home before Christmas, no 171 H redo, and our little girls’ pictures in our hands next week.
Pass me those bags. I am having a hard time breathing myself.
BTW paper or plastic??
:-)

It seems that they are doing 2 weeks at a time so it seems about right. This means that for people logged in now the wait will be 24 months if this trend continues. Thank you RQ for keeping us up to date. This site saves me a lot of time because you are the clearinghouse! :)
October 17th, 2006 at 8:16 pm
RQ, according to your calculations, how many referrals would that be if they go through the 23rd???

i would love to know how far back can we go in DTC folks that haven’t received a referral yet – such as July 22… just incase they do transition to the DTC dates over the LID dates.

If you haven’t read the FAQ yet, you might find that a lot of your questions are answered there.

Mom2Isabel, I share your feelings. I have had an “October” feeling for some time now. I have a 27 year old son, whose birthday is 10/7 and my 14 year old twin girls are 10/11–so they are my “roll of the dice” 7/11 babies in the month of October. There are so many other birthdays in our family in the month of October, so this month would be so fitting for a referral. So, that’ll be paper please with those bags, I think i already used a plastic one because I can’t breathe!

Congrats to those who will soon receive their referrals!
If they don’t (and it sounds like they won’t) complete August, I’m going to be crushed.
With a 11/30 LID, my agency is telling me I might be home by April, when my CIS expires.
I think my agency is simply not paying attention. I think I’m 9 months from referral, if they keep taking 3 months to complete 30 days.
October 17th, 2006 at 9:03 pm
Okay… I have enough paper bags for everyone! If the bag doesn’t work I am going to have to resort to the breathing techniques I learned when I went to Lamaze a million years ago… he he haaaa he he haaaa…
8/24/05 and typing with my fingers crossed

waiting for meimei-
I am right there with you. I was so hoping this was the speed up month but it looks like not. I am just hoping they get through the 24th cause if not,… well… I guess fall in China might not be so bad but I don’t think I can deal with another summer without our newest family member. My agency won’t speculate about the wait- but my SW (with a local agency) told me I was being negative and pessimistic when I told her several months ago we would likely have to redo the paperwork. I am going to wait for the official annoncement from the CCAA and then call her and start the paperchase-AGAIN! I realize that wait times fluctuate but at the rate this is going they are going to almost quadruple before we get our referral- I would not consider that a “flucuation” My agency says they have never seen anything like this- dramatically increasing wait times, no plan for stabilzation, no explanation. (and they are a well respected, medium multi country, probably been there from the beginning, agency)
October 17th, 2006 at 9:23 pm
hikinglorax – We’ve already been refingerprinted and redone our homestudy . I’m waiting to redo the CIS until Feb. At least in Minnesota, or so I’m told anyway, I only need to reapply, I won’t need new medicals, or employment letters.
Now my fear is that if it really does take another 9 months, with 2 more for referral, I may have to do my homestudy AGAIN!
October 17th, 2006 at 9:24 pm
The only light at the end of the tunnel for those of you in for the long(er) haul, maybe Congress will rule to extend the I-171H to 24 months, saving you some $$$$… not that you wouldn’t gladly pay it to move up a few months!
October 17th, 2006 at 9:39 pm
Good Luck to all of the families of upcoming referrals this month!!!!!!
I can only go to bed tonight dreaming that someday will be my day.
I know that you have all been through so much during this wait…it is time for peace in your hearts.
Best Wishes!

Hey, I want a paper bag and I’m a Dec. LID! Can I have one too???

I could use one of those bags, too, Reymim, if you have extra…

Sound like a lot of you are in labor! What a beautiful sound that is! I wish I was “laboring” right beside you all, but I’m not quite there yet. So, I’ll be the labor coach – keep on breathing – take a moment out of the breathing for some ice chips; they keep your mouth nice and moist; your mouth will tend to get all “cottony” after a few hours of labor breathing. This is a labor of love! So excited for all you expecting a referral this month!

I guess I’ll have to be the assistant labor coach! LOL I really hope that they get through to August 30, or at least get over that big Aug 24th hurdle! I thought this was going to be the telling month, and although it seems on paper that this is an improvement its nowhere near enough to get the momentum going again is it?
LID July 2006!
October 17th, 2006 at 11:44 pm
OMG we are getting our referral soon!! Must.breathe.=) perfect timing because my family sure does need the good news. Right now it is hard to be so excited because at the same time one of my daughter’s friends, Josh, his dad had a major heart attack tonight while working out at the gym and passed away. Please pray for his family. This man has 3 sons, (ages 17,15,12) so its going to be hard. Should i feel guilty for being excited during this hard time?? It sorta feels out of place =(

I am really looking forward to the next referrals, and at the same time I really feel for those of you that are sitting on the fence, LID 24 or 25.
I do not want to sound negative, but have we ever been given a date by an agency that has turned out to be included, but not the cut off date? It seems to me that the CCAA tells the cutoff date and this is what the agencies are reporting. Sorry, but I just find the speculations painful. My LID is much further away and every cut off date so far has been a real disappointment. Long term, this is a real bad one, as usual.
October 18th, 2006 at 3:21 am
Heeee flower power…….i thought you of all people would relax…..LOL…….(yo….peace..flower in your hair….relax….haahahaha)
I don,t want to think even of the possibility that 24 will not be
included……i was expecting my referral early this year….
So now the wish rules my brain….

I’m so excited for you all. Last month seems just days since and I’m STILL on a high. More babies! Hooray!
October 18th, 2006 at 7:59 am
Waiting for MeiMei, I feel the same way you do. I also have a late Nov. LID and feel it will be at least 9 months to referral and then another 1 1/2 to 2 months to travel. I don’t want to believe it could take so long to get through 3 1/2 months.

Where is Tater??
October 18th, 2006 at 8:56 am
tochina4chloemadison…..that is so sad about your friends father. I am so sorry to hear this. wow….3 sons, they must me devistated. Life is so short and you need to enjoy each moment. I think that is one of the reasons we decided to start a family. We were going to travel and just be carefree but when we both lost a really close family member and we got a reality check we realized that life is about the lives that you touch and people you love. I am really excited that you are next in line and don’t feel guilty for it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that referrals will be through August!!!! Please post your pic when you get it!
October 18th, 2006 at 9:26 am
Any paper bags left? Hyperventilating while teetering on a fence is difficult. With a 8/26/05 LID, logically, I think it will be November for me,but my heart refuses to believe.
