Could the Trade Fair be slowing down the TA?
We where in the last batch of NSN referrails.

  2. Tresordasie Says:

I think the Guangzhou Trade Fair in Guangdong only starts next Wednesday (Nov. 25). I could be wrong, but I don’t think they’re late, I think they always take about 3 weeks after referral to arrive, don’t they?

    Hi,
I noticed on the “Update News” section of the CCAA website that some kind of update was posted on 10/12/06. For some reason, I can not access the update. Does anyone know what it says, and is anyone else having the same problem? I am not the most computer savvy person in the world, so I am probably missing something here…

  13. daisybell2006 Says:

Has more than one agency said they will be receiving referrals up to 8/23? I am just a bit baffled that one agency would have this information and no one else has heard with such certainty that this agency about referrals, especially with the clampdown on information from CCAA.

Or is it that the other agencies know and are waiting until next week to tell us? If they do know, why wait to spread the good news? :)

  14. wearewaiting Says:

To those of you with flights planned and dates set…CONGRATS!!!!! We are so happy for you! Keep us posted on your travels!

  17. christina Says:

meetoo (and everyone else who got their TA today) – first of all congrats! second, could you tell me when you sent in your acceptance letters, those of us still waiting want to get a sense of the timings.

    Thanks!

  18. meetoo Says:

    Hey christina,

Our agency sent them in on the 26th. However, not everyone in our group got their TA’s! And the word is that the person in charge of TA’s won’t be back in the office until next week! Maybe the holiday put everything over there in a tizzy. Agency says they are still planning on sending us all together if at all possible. It would seem more are on their way.

  19. rachaelsmom Says:

What about any PA’s for singles ? Been waiting since 8/28/06 for my PA and am going bonkers here !

  23. Waiting For Jade Says:

we got our referrals on october 25th. all families signed their acceptances within a day or two. our agency sent the acceptances back on october 27 or 28th but we were told that it would be a while before the TA’s because our acceptances got delayed being input due to the chinese national holiday at the start of october. we were told that the acceptances had not been looked at until oct 8th, but then we got our TA’s on Oct. 16th – really only 8 days later! Our agency immediately faxed a request for Nov 15th consolate appointments and we heard this a.m. that we got the appointments, so that was 2 days after the request. we were told to book flights nov. 3rd – nov. 17th. hope this helps those who wanted to know more specific time frame info.

  24. misformom Says:

Welcome, RK! We all are so grateful to RQ for all she does, and would like to Thank You also for sharing her with us :) I hope she got to her destination safely!

  27. RK Says:

I spoke to RQ and she is experiencing blog withdrawal already. She said that she is missing ya’ll and can’t wait to get back on line. I even caught wind of her offering to “fix” some ones “broken” internet connection in exchange for some on-line time. lol That sounds just like her eh? I have passed along yous guys comments and I have a sneaky feeling that you may be hearing from her soon.

  28. meetoo Says:

Thanks everyone. Can’t wait to have a departure date. Until then, I’ll still be chewing my fingernails off.

  29. ankiepoelmans Says:

Our adoptionagency has confirmed that they received (by post) referrals until LID 23/8, but they’re next LID is in september.

  30. misformom Says:

  31. Nancy Says:

ankiepoelmans, your agency *already* received them?!

  32. beatr1ce Says:

Is it just me or do you guys think that RK is trying to throw us off with his ya’ll and his canadian accent eh? He knows we are onto him…..keep up the good work RK! : )

  33. tgredthread Says:

    received referrals?
as in…received them? not just notified about referrals being worked on or something?

  34. waitingforpink Says:

    HELLO?????
Received referrals???? RK get RQ quick!!!! The kingdom is being stormed! We need reinforcements!
    :) wfp

  35. Leia Says:

I am so unproductive. I just give up trying to do anything but hit the refresh button. I just want to know the cut-off date. I already feel for whomever misses the cut-off … knowing it could very well be all of us 8-24ers.

RK, Thanks for taking over for RQ! Hope to see her today online!

    LID 8-24-05

  36. tgredthread Says:

i’m doubly unproductive already just by ankiepoelmans’ posting. so now i’m going to be popping on and off of here looking to see if referrals are actually arriving already or what.
someone please get us some info!?

  37. Leia Says:

    ankiepoelman wrote “received (by post)”
Do you think that means they just received a message of some sort? Okay I know I am grasping at straws here.

  38. saxncin Says:

HOORAY for all of you “waiting” hopefuls!!!
TA’s are here, so of course referrals can arrive anytime!!!!

Hang in there, TG – it’s (finally) your turn!

  39. Luna Says:

We need RQ here pronto!!!! Her job needs to understand this is an emergency!!!!!!

  40. tgredthread Says:

thanks saxncin! yeah we’re ready ready ready!!!!

leia- that’s what I’m wondering. if European agencies are starting to get referrals that would make sense since they are way ahead of us Yanks and Canadiens. “received by (post)” could mean ‘by mail’ or ‘by parcel (post)’.
or it could mean the agency received an email saying that referrals are being worked on and their 8/23 families are included. This would be much like the rumour from the other day where the agencies said referrals would include their 8/23 families, but they didn’t have any LID families after that day until later (i.e. Sept)

so I guess that’s what we need to find out… :)

  41. CWS Says:

RK, thanks for holding down the fort, I don’t know what us rumor addicts would do if this site evaporated for days on end.

As to referrals having arrived at some agency, YEOWSA, it appears they may be dropping out of the sky again… but if we must be blindsided, here’s hoping they got past 8/23 at least.

jfkof3, have you received your TA yet? Or even word that it’s on its way??? Sure hope so.

  42. saxncin Says:

Oh Man, Oh Man, Oh Man – TG…
my fingers are crossed for you!
(all of you remaining AUG LIDs)
How amazing to know “something” by the weekend…
    SO TOTALLY COMPLETELY EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  43. Clementine Says:

Actually, if you think about it, it makes sense that referrals are actually on their way now — or have arrived in Europe.
    Two reasons:

The last two months we received info right before (as in a day or two before) they showed up. It seems like the CCAA has done an excellent job of keeping a lid on things until they are ready to release referrals.

Second, there is mention in the forum by RQ that she has heard at least twice that the next batch of referrals are to come in the middle of November. By moving October’s up a bit, this would allow them to do that.

Just my own perspective on the logic (?) of the CCAA.
I am very excited for those of you who are about to become parents. I’m actually starting to feel more optimistic about things despite my feb 9 LID. It’s starting to not feel quite like an eternity away — just a long time away. :)
    clem

  44. Coartney Says:

Where did ankiepoelman go? We must have more information. Should I leave my house? I don’t know what to do!!!!!

    LID-8/10/05

  45. tgredthread Says:

    lol coartney…right there with ya!

doesn’t RQ/RK have some special group of covert-undercover info gathering people that can be dispatched to get us the truth? lol

  46. tgredthread Says:

anyone in Europe/Australia know or can find anything out?

  47. HopeforRiley Says:

Come on CCAA more referrals past 8/23!!!!! We need a big month!!!!!

    hope

  48. waitingforOliviaFL Says:

I get the feeling that somewhere out there, RQs head is spinning!!

Come on folks – we need some confirmation and we need referrals past 8/23 – PLEASE!!!!

  49. suejay Says:

I’m in aust (west) – 10.13pm here and China, no more news today. I’m an August LID too …..off to try and sleep…

  50. tgredthread Says:

    thx suejay…

  51. donandtamara Says:

As of yesterday morning we checked and our agency didn’t have anything on the way from CCAA. WE are expecting a referral with a confirmed LID of 8-19.

  52. tgredthread Says:

    oops… hit send before i was done…lol

    and sleep well too! :)

  53. donandtamara Says:

    test

  54. donandtamara Says:

I’m trying to post something and it’s not getting through. Maybe there’ll be 3 posts show up later.

  55. suejay Says:

tg – i was that confident that we were not going to get our referral this month that I booked myslf into a health retreat on the other side of Australia (leaving Saturday), leaving my DH and DS (5 years old) to look after themselves. Now I’m having a panic that we might get our referral while I am away….bloody hell…..sleep well… I don’t think so.

  56. jfkof3 Says:

This is exciting for the referral families, woohoo I am so happy for all of you !!!!!

No TA today, according to our agency. yuk yuk, it really stinks.

  57. donandtamara Says:

yesterday morning we called the delivery service and there was no package sent from CCAA to our agency.

  58. Leia Says:

Oh jfk I am so sorry to hear this!

  59. Coartney Says:

suejay-lol-your post was so funny! You probably don’t think so, but I got a giggle from your “bloody hell” response. I understand completely. My DH and 2 boys are going to be gone this weekend, camping, with no phone service. Bloody hell is right!!

  60. donandtamara Says:

THe problem is that the delivery service name is being blocked so when I typed it out my messages didn’t go through.

  61. suejay Says:

Coartney – are you from the U.S.? Is “bloody hell” are term americans use – or just us down here.

  62. girlzmama2002 Says:

    Suejay….

Oh man…timing is EVERYTHING, isn’t it? If you can stand the suspense, it may be just what you need before this next portion of the Grande Adventure begins!
Love the ‘…bloody hell….’ I imagine that sums up your quandary perfectly!

Hang in there and good luck to you and everyone awaitin’!

  63. CWS Says:

Jfkof3, hang in there, maybe it will come tomorrow… surely soon in any event. Gads, I well remember what it was like to have a referral and just want to hop on a plane pronto, but NOOOOOO, have to wait for the bureaucracy to grind out the various pieces of paper instead. Arghh. Fingers, toes and eyes crossed that you and all the other folks waiting for TAs get them very soon.

  64. tgredthread Says:

“bloody hell” I’ve heard in the UK…and i keep a soundbyte on my sampler and computer from Red Dwarf “oh bloody buggaring hell!” quite hilarious!

oh, so let me rephrase that to “try and get some sleep” suejay…

  65. tgredthread Says:

geez jfkof3…they’re really dragging this out way too much for you. sorry to hear that…i’m sure it’ll be any time now…it’s gotta be!

  66. suejay Says:

girlzmama – that was my theory. Last 5 years: had a son, run a business and built a house that took two years (that deserves it’s very onw “bloody hell”). I thought, I am not going to get a chance to steal 5 days to find some head space for another 5 years after we get little sister…don’t know what i was thinking…but I’m sure it will work out…

  67. wrigsassy Says:

    DonandTamara-
Are you waiting on TA or referrals?

All my agency is saying is that they know the CCAA is working on referrals, which is what they said the last time that we were surprised by the referrals….

  68. Karenv Says:

Wouldn’t it be exciting to have another such surprise today!!!!!

  69. bia Says:

Has anyone heard about the SN TA’s. We are LID 07/25 and LOI 08/11 and are eager for some news…
    Regards,
    Bia

  70. Coartney Says:

suejay-I’m from the US, but spent some time in England. We don’t use “bloody hell” here, but I think we should add it to our vocab. I love it!!

jfk-I hope you have good news soon!!

  71. Happy Hour Says:

RQ/RK – wave the Scepter (AKA BIG STICK) and get us the damned referrals!!!

  72. adomom12 Says:

    chasdav6us Says:

  73. Luna Says:

Happy Hour….You’re cracking me up! LOL!

  74. misformom Says:

RK – anything for us at all??? We’ve been on pins & needles ever since seeing ankiepoelmans’ post!! Ankiepoelmans – any more info for us? Where are you??

    Need. More. Info…!

    misformom lid 8/19/05

  75. Katri Says:

    Antkiepoelmans!!!WHERE ARE YOU!!!
Please send the info to the KING!

  76. Happy Hour Says:

Ankiepoelmans is a TEASE. RK – make sure that’s not an imposter – no one should be allowed to tease us like that! LOL!

  77. willowflower Says:

Just talked to my agency who usually is one of the first to make the referral calls and they have not received any referrals at this point.

  78. Luna Says:

In the future when ANYONE posts a comment that referrals have arrived…..THEY NEED TO STAY ON THIS SITE, LONG ENOUGH TO BE GRILLED BY EVERY LAST PERSON THAT WANTS TO GRILL THEM!!!!! =)

  79. misformom Says:

Thanks, willowflower. I think I need to take a deep breath and go tackle the laundry.

  80. frankieandsuzie Says:

Im afraid ankiepoelman has just pulled our legs a little here.
wow. thats just cruel. I must go make something os this day now.

  81. wrigsassy Says:

    willowflower-
Is your agency expecting referrals??? Do they know the cutoff date?

  82. donandtamara Says:

wrigsassy- we are waiting for a referral, LID 8-19.

  83. jfkof3 Says:

Coartney and TG, thank you guys. I appreciate you. NO TA today. I’m so tickled for you both.

Smalltowngirl, Mendy, Christina, did you’all receive your TA? Did you read Meetoo’s post yesterday about the TA delay for some. It stinks.

  84. WaitingforAllie Says:

jfkof3….our agency did not receive TA’s yet either.

  85. WaitingforAllie Says:

    TG,
I have butterflies for you! I cannot wait to see your little one’s face!@

  86. smalltowngirl Says:

No TA here yet either jfkof3! I was hoping to log on this morning and find out you got yours! I really hope it comes tomorrow, thinking of waiting another week bums me out!

  87. waitingforpink Says:

I guess no referrals today either. I was hoping we would hear a defn. cut off by the weekend. Maybe tomorrow will bring news (good? we’ll see!). I am starting to assume that if 8/24 was included we would have heard already. But you know what they say if you assume…
    : ) wfp

  88. mnm2anne Says:

Oh how I hate not knowing a date for sure!! We are LID 8/30 and I know we won’t be in this batch, but I think how far (ie: if they can get through 8/24) will let us know if they can get to us next month. Looking @ the polls it looks like the 24 – 31 are BIG days !! UGHGHGHGH come on news — I was just so wanting to get our referral next month!!

  89. Cat Says:

No TA here yet either. I keep hear Tom Petty echo in my ears …. “the waiting is the hardest part”….

  90. jfkof3 Says:

WaitingforAllie, oh i thought you received your TA. we can hope together for tomorrow. i know you are just as eager as i am. cyber smiles to you. jfk

  91. jfkof3 Says:

The only good news is we have a better chance of traveling the same days if our TA’s come in around the same time..yes? Enjoy this day.

  92. Happy Hour Says:

Who are those spies that get all the information about packages being shipped. We need them now…..

  93. jfkof3 Says:

tg and coartney, have you heard from your agency? any news at all? just curious (i guess we all are…duh)

  94. Mendy Says:

NO TA’S here. Our acceptance letter didn’t get back to China until Oct 12th. I guess with the week closing it threw things off. I am really bummed! I wanted to be there for Joleigh’s birthday on 11-5, but probaby not happening. I didn’t read the post about delayed TA’s, where can I find it?
    Mendy

  95. christina Says:

jfkof3 – no TA yet – sob – we got an email from our agency about what will happen when we get the TA and I was so thinking it was telling us that we HAD the TA that it took me 5 times reading it to understand. My birthday is tomorrow so I am willing it to happen by then.

  96. misformom Says:

Happy Hour – I’m with you, come on, Spies, go to work & come back to report asap :-D
RK – anything from the throne???

    misformom lid 8/19

  97. smalltowngirl Says:

christina, sent you a copy of the email I just sent our agency. Take a look at it. Email me back…

  98. jfkof3 Says:

christina, sobbing with you. it is not an ‘iffy’ it’s a ‘whenny’.

mendy, the post from meetoo is on this thread, about 18 down, right after christina’s post and right before, rachaelsmom’s post.

    http://www.HelloKatieGirl.com

  99. jfkof3 Says:

smalltowngirl, can you share? paaaa-lease! thanks, jfk

  100. tgredthread Says:

nothing from our agency on the remaining TAs or referrals yet. sorry.
the DW and I were talking (her email’s down) and we were trying to remember; I think last month we didn’t find out until late Friday that the CCAA sent the referrals out, they changed their site on Sunday night (monday for them), and then the referrals started arriving Monday/Tuesday, etc.
anyone thinking of a repeat this time around?

  101. NikAut Says:

jfkof3 & others still waiting on TA’s. We too are still waiting. At this point I don’t think we will get our TA until next week.
Maybe they will come early next week– Like Monday– maybe?? I hope!! Surely they can’t be too far behind the others, right??

  102. jfkof3 Says:

tg, you are correct. we received our referral sept 25th but we did not see Katie’s picture until sept. 27th. i did appreciate the ccaa changing their site rather quickly last month instead of waiting for a week, that was nice.

  103. smalltowngirl Says:

jfkof3…..nothing much….we just got an email from our agency outlining the extended stay we will have because of our kids being in Guangdong province. Some of what was written was confusing to both us. They do think we will get TA soon though….but usually RQ and those on this group are much faster in providing us info. No worries—we will keep you posted!

  104. waitingforpink Says:

    tg,
I remember last month because it was a horribly long weekend for me. I think we are looking at a repeat for sure. I am thinking I am in for a repeat of what you must have felt when you saw the “missed it by one day” news. I am trying to prepare myself for that now, I just don’t know how…..
Anyway, long weekend for you too I know. Good luck with the sleeping thing- LOL.
    : ) wfp

  105. jfkof3 Says:

smalltowngirl, thanks girl, I appreciate it.

    Group Cyber HUGS for EVERYONE.

  106. belgianmomtobe Says:

    where is ankiepoelmans?
Are you from Holland or Belgium? (your name is dutch)

    Your agency received “already” referrals???
It’s bizar to me, because my agency confirmed me (yesterday) that our dossier is referred (LID 8/23) but not sent out yet. They expect our dossier at the beginning of next week.
Oh yeah: they don’t have any later LID’s in August 2005 ! So don’t give up hope yet, LID’s 8/24 !!!!

  107. tgredthread Says:

hugs are good, thanks jfk :)

waitingforpink- i know how you’re feeling, as you know…all I can say is that the DW and I just let ourselves be frustrated, angry, sad, whatever we felt…then a couple days later, after seeing the new referral pics, talking on here, thinking about it all; just like a switch flipping in our heads and hearts, we were okay with it. like the DW posted, the four weeks will go fast even if at times it doesn’t seem like it. plus, the great thing is that as the referral time nears…you KNOW you’re next. This four weeks for us has been pretty relaxing and we’ve been able to plan some things and take care of other things since we knew we’d be next for sure.
Believe me, let yourself wallow a bit, but then it’ll turn around and you’ll feel relaxed and able to let yourself get all excited about things again. :)

Obviously we’re hoping the 24th (and more) are included this time though!!! :)

  108. FireworksinCLT Says:

    Hi everyone!

I’m becoming a woman on the edge. We are LID 8-26 and I’m resigned to not hearing anything this month, yet I still hold on to the faint glimmer of hope that we could be included. And the hopes of farther than the 24th of August are not just selfish for us, we have friends that are in the paperchase right now…

Anyway, I’ve got to know something. Does anyone have any idea of how many boys have unexpectedly been referred lately? I had a dream last night that we got our referral (I don’t know if it was this month or next) and it was for a 22 month old boy. Now I would be thrilled with a child, boy or girl, but it threw me into a tailspin because the nursery we have prepared is VERY pink. I woke up this morning thinking that I had to drive to Lowe’s to buy some blue paint…

I was just wondering if boys were actually being referred, or if it is just urban legend. (I need to know if I should get some blue paint ready…)

  109. willowflower Says:

I don’t know what our agency is expecting, but I haven’t seen a batch of referrals come from the CCAA without them getting some. They get their mail in the morning and they start making calls soon after they receive them with the basic information translated. By the time you get in later that same day, they have everything translated. I know last time we got the call before 11:00 (and many got calls before us..they had 35 calls to make that day) and we had a 2:00 appointment (which was an hour away). I liked not having to sit around and wait. We had just enough time to get my husband home from work, pick up the other kids, and drive in to see our daughter’s file. I can’t believe we get to do this again pretty soon (lid 9/29). People from our agency are often some of the first to post the good news, so I’ll keep you posted if I hear anything.

  110. Happy Hour Says:

Your guess is as good as mine. I don’t know why they make us suffer so!

  111. waitingforpink Says:

    FireworksinCT-
Yes, they do refer boys, expected and otherwise. Don’t buy the blue paint yet, but you may need to when the time comes!
: ) wfp (can you tell I haven’t bought anything blue????)

  112. smalltowngirl Says:

Seems to me there were like 3-4 unexpected and unrequested referrals of boys in the July referrals….

  113. Mendy Says:

    jfkof3:
Our coordinator informed us today to go ahead and apply for our visa. I hope she knows more than me. Maybe we will hear first of the week. Anyways, I will be ready to roll! Hope to see ya in China.
    http://www.celebrateadoption.com/journeytojoleigh

  114. adasinchina Says:

No real news here, but just wanted to add that I have seen several blogs (on my long list of blogs I follow)with August 20ish LID’s who are confirming that their agency has alerted them that their referral is “on it’s way”… and that Aug 24 is included.
    :)
    Amy (LID 07/22/06)

  115. catbertie Says:

Our agency posted today that they expect referrals next week up to the 8/24 LID should be included. Large not China only agency who’s learning to share information better…..even if there is no information to share!

  116. smalltowngirl Says:

adasinchina— if that is true about the 24th included, then it would be very big news indeed!

  117. Happy Hour Says:

I would love to see all my friends w/ 8/24 and 8/25 LIDS included. I just hope the speculation to this point is correct as I’m 8/22 and if that doesn’t happen now I’ll need a rubber room – Alcohol won’t cure it

  118. WaitingforAllie Says:

    Mendy,

Our agency made us all (in our travel group) apply for our visas last week….so for us, it did not coincide with TA. Shortly after receiving our referral, we were given approximate travel dates (with a 50% chance of it changing). How very P.C. of them. LOL!

I am still hoping we get TA next week….afterall, that will be our 4th week of waiting from acceptance letters returned.

  119. Mendy Says:

Thanks! Changing the subject a bit—recommendations for travel? Who to use? Great rates?
    Mendy

  120. Coartney Says:

I haven’t heard anything either. I had to run to the grocery. Can you believe my boys still expect to eat during this adoption? I hope the rumour about going through the 24th is true. I think that would be a positive sign, since the 23rd and 24th are large LID dates. I would love to see the rest of August, but I don’t know.

jfk-Wow, Katie is so cute!!! We’re going to have a Cate too, but obviously with a “C”

  121. Happy Hour Says:

Mendy – I’ve been saving some travel tidbits that people have sent me: Sonohotel.com – book hotels, they have a print off that tells a taxi driver to take you to the hotel. I’ve heard to save $$, stay at the Victory instead of the White Swan – and that they are about 5 minutes apart (walking) I’ve heard flychina.com is a good site to comparision shop airlines. Since I haven’t made travel arrangements, I can’t confirm these are great sites, but some that were recommended. Trust me, I’m looking for the deals!

  122. Lauriesue Says:

Do you all really think you can rely on these referrals coming in next week? My agency tells me that there is no way anyone can know that and that it has to be based on rumor, since the CCAA has not confirmed anything about referrals yet. I would certainly love to believe that as I am August 11 LID! But why would some agencies know about the referrals and others don’t?

  123. Trace7 Says:

I am another one here putting in a good word for Cathay Pacific. We flew them on our honeymoon, and they are awesome – very clean planes and very nice flight attendants and airline workers. I just flew United to and from Hong Kong last week, and they were okay – but I really prefer Cathay Pacific – so that is who we plan to use when go over for the adoption.

  124. cungar Says:

    Laurisue,

Referrals have been coming around the 23rd to 26th for most of this year. It seems pretty constant.

  125. smalltowngirl Says:

Lauriesue….same thing happened last month. Rumors had it referrals had been mailed, and they were.

  126. trulyblessed Says:

    Hey all,

This thread is getting SO exciting! I’m keeping fingers, toes, knees, ankles and eyes crossed for a HUGE group o’referrals tomorrow!

Now, let me share a cute photo with y’all — it’s my MOTORCYCLE BABY in Guangdong! She was just in the corner of the shot, but that didn’t matter — I cropped her out and posted her on my blog.

Before you go check, when I got an email from the lovely Sarah, currently in Guangzhou, she said she had another photo of my daughter, Katie, on a motorcycle. My first, second, third and fourth thoughts (in about 10 nano seconds) were: WHAT? They let babies on motorcycles in China? WHAT? What’s she doing on a motorcycle? WHAT? Where are they taking my baby? and WHAT? Huh? Then, I saw the picture and was relieved to see she’s just sitting on it!

Who cares? I got another picture of my baby!

Only 13 days ’til we travel, and 18 days ’til she’s in my arms!!

Okay, if you want to see her, click on my name (in purple). And PLEASE leave a comment — this is for posterity!

    COME ON REFERRALS!!!!

  127. tgredthread Says:

    lauriesue-
our agency posted they were informed that the CCAA was working on this next group of referrals. More often than not, within days of this being posted, the referrals go out…or sometimes are already in the air and on the way.

    and trulyblessed…
    that’s a great photo…how cute is that?!

  128. tgredthread Says:

oh i should note that our agency posted this yesterday the 18th. sorry.

  129. jfkof3 Says:

Mendy, i’m with waitingforallie….we have already received our chinese visas last friday. get busy girl. oh, go see the movie…facing the giants, it’s rated pg.

  133. christina Says:

Coartney – I just love the name Cate. It was our top choice for a very long time. But the Irish roots won out in the end.

  134. worthdawait Says:

trulyblessed – your baby is totally cute !!!!

  135. suejay Says:

  136. Coartney Says:

trulyblessed-She is a cutie!! How wonderful that your friend is sending those pictures.

christina-thanks, it makes me so happy to see her name in print. Our oldest son chose her first name, Catherine (Cate) and our other son chose her middle name, Cooper. It’s after one of his favorite authors. I hope you get that phone call tomorrow and can really enjoy your day off.

Sorry you didn’t sleep well, suejay.

  137. smalltowngirl Says:

Have a very happy birthday tomorrow Christina!!! Hope you get a paper present from CCAA!

  139. Mendy Says:

Thanks for the info on plane fares. We heard this afternoon that we should receive our TA next week and travel about the same time frame as ones that have received TA/CA. Now, that is what I heard……..believe it when I hear it for myself………or see in writing. I am busy-busy getting ready!

jfkof3 Have you seen the movie “facing the giants”? I really want to see that and my 9 year old would love it—-anything football.
    Thanks

  140. jfkof3 Says:

mendy, thanks for your agency’s info. we haven’t heard anything. yes, we went to see the movie (facing the giants) today. i truly liked the message. my younger son loves football, too. take kleenex!!

  141. meetoo Says:

    Hi Gang!

We have a travel date!!!! We are going Nov 9-22. The rest in our travel group did not get their TA’s yet, but our agency said they should still travel with us. They may have to spend another day or two in Guangzhou.

My heart and prayers go out to those of you still waiting for your TA, hang in there!

    Good luck referral gang!

  146. beatr1ce Says:

Not to fixate on the CCAA website or anything but…… I just noticed that they have a hit counter. It says I am the 999,999 visitor. Too funny….I wonder what it will be by the monday! (I think they call this “Stalking”)

    Goodnight everyone!

  147. ankiepoelmans Says:

    Hi,

I’m sorry, but I didn’t know the information would be so important, I thought that another agency (our maybe the same as ours) had already said that they had received refferals for 23/8.
I have the information from an other adoptionparent that is adopting with the same agency, they had contact with our agency. So I’m sorry but I don’t know much more than what they told me.

Btw, thanks for the people that called me a fraud.
Sorry, I didn’t react sooner, but during the day I have a job and don’t have the time to go on the internet.
I don’t know how to send the info to the King, it’s also not really my info, it’s secondhanded.

I hope they will go further than the 23/8, our LID is 10/10.

Hope that will clear things up.

  148. bbpop Says:

Hi, donandtamara… is this “delivery service” you mentioned the same as the courier service used by “our” agency to send documents to china?? My DTC is 10-19-06!!! Finally!!!Yippee. The courier picked up my dossier today. Just wondering if they would bring your referral back after taking my DTC??? We are very excited for you.
    bbpop :)

  149. Canuckdude Says:

    Hi ankiepoelmans,
Maybe it’s a language miscommunication, but I don’t think you were clear in your original message and that’s what got everyone so excited.
You were and are the first person to say that referrals have actually been received. Are you sure that they have been received, or have people from your agency just been informed that they will be included in the next group.
No one was really calling you a fraud – everyone is just a little excitable, understandably!!

  150. Bliss Says:

Ages later (due to time zones):

    1) we Europeans usually do NOT recieve referrals before you Americans, on the contrary: they use to come at least 3 days later

    2) the CCAA does’nt need to take the website down to update (you guys will never learn it ;-)). But too many users hitting it at the same time could cause a crash…

  151. RK Says:

Ladies and gentlemen. I would like to take a pause here to interject one small note. We are ALL excited and nervous about the referral process. I would like for anyone who is posting information about referrals, TA’s or CA’s to state in their post if the information is first hand or otherwise. I believe that if we remain factual we can avoid any miscommunications.

One final note. Be civil to each other.

  152. tgredthread Says:

    RK-
just wondering if you’re just moderating and that’s it, or if you have access to the email RQ gets. Are you going to post anything ‘new’ &/or relevant in regards to referrals going out or the remaining TAs arriving. ???

    thx

I saw the Hum/Sing Elmo yesterday while shopping.
    OMG – sooooo cute!!!

  155. looneytunes32 Says:

I’ve got to find this Elmo.

Totally different topic…I had a dream the other night that I was looking at the CCAA site and it had been updated to include 8/25.
I suspect it will truly be, only in my dreams, though.
    :o(

    Mary
LID 8/25/05 and hanging in the balance right now…

  156. tgredthread Says:

lol sebago girl…yes it is…i think the DW and I will play with that as much as the kiddo. hehe :)

  157. waitingforpink Says:

Ok everybody, good morning, now, can we get on to the news????!!!
I need to hear something before this weekend!
Add me to the list of those who didn’t sleep last night (despite me telling myself that we are not included this month – hope springs eternal).
    : ) wfp 8/24

  158. Leia Says:

Hi wfp— with you on all accounts. I was up at 2am checking CCAA site.

  159. Mendy Says:

Good Morning everyone! Hope you hear good news of referrals and of TA/CA’s today. Not much longer now! (hopefully)

  160. sebago girl Says:

    Looneytunes32
I keep thinking that the CCAA site will say Aug.25 too!!!
I had a wicked vivid dream a couple of weeks ago that my baby was born on Feb.2nd. hmmmmmmm
For our first adoption, my weird adoption dreams started just before referral!

I e-mailed my agency, begging for information – we’ll see what they say.

  161. jfkof3 Says:

tg, you and your dw are like my dh. He enjoys the toys as much as the kids (or more), too funny.

Word from our agency, NO TA’s for us today. I’m thankful we have a busy weekend but I’ll be watching for the referrals for our friends. best wishes. jfk

  162. jfkof3 Says:

Leia, oh my, I know your feelings right now with all the cut-off rumors. hang in there girl !!

  163. Leia Says:

Thanks jfk. May you have a peaceful weekend! I am truly sorry about your TA not arriving today.

  164. mom4tori Says:

The price I purchased the Elmo at the store was also $14.99. We have had him now a couple of days and really silly, but I look forward to getting home from work and hearing him sing and giggling. This waiting thing must be playing with my brain!

  165. tgredthread Says:

    mom4tori-
    it’s not silly…
must admit i was humming ‘pop goes the weasel’ off and on yesterday…lol

  166. Happy Hour Says:

Ankiepoelmans – I’m sorry you felt badly about the comment(s) I know one was me, and truly, it was tounge-in-cheek… It was in fun – sorry at your expense. Many of us are on the edge of our seats……. Please forgive me!

  167. tgredthread Says:

if anyone finds out that “the stork” is flying do post or something…PLEASE!!!
i’d love to go into the weekend at least knowing referrals are on the way!

  168. waitingforpink Says:

At what point do we give up hearing anything today?

  169. janey1245 Says:

Regarding the CCAA website….the counter that you thought was logging you in at 999,999 is permanantly on that number…..maybe it doesn’t go up to 1 million. I guess they never thought that many people would be logging on when they developed the program.

    Little did they know!

  170. angelsinpower Says:

Hi all, I am loving the dreams and vision of seeing the CCAA website and it includes 8/25. I am still going to be an optimist and know that it IS possible!!! Hang in there everyone, our babies will be with us before we know it! Blessings to all, Jill
    LID 8/25/06

  171. looneytunes32 Says:

Angelsinpower – do you mean 8/25/05?

    Mary
    8/25/05

  172. mom4tori Says:

Well, if we are dreaming, then lets include all of August.

  173. tgredthread Says:

    w4pink-
i think last month we didn’t hear that the referrals had actually been sent until late in the day that Friday…

  174. waitingforpink Says:

great, so I have the rest of the day to obsess. How am I supposed to get any work done???????

  175. Mendy Says:

We did hear on Friday and the CCAA website was updated on Sunday evening. I remember looking at it and it hadn’t changed then went and hit refresh and it said thru Aug 9th. I screamed and hollared and cried (lid 8-8-05) My DH kept saying is that a good cry or not? Are we in or not? I will never forget that moment or the best one when we pulled Joleigh’s picture up on the computer! Now, I am ready to go and hold her and make another very best moment. Sorry to rattle on……I am so excited for the ones about to receive referrals. It is an AWESOME feeling. I now wonder what the feeling is like when you receive TA/CA? Still waiting on that one!

  176. CWS Says:

Someone from Spain apparently has the scoop re the cutoff, see rumor thread.

  177. angelsinpower Says:

sorry looneytunes (and others) my fantasies and typing can’t keep up with each other. Yes, I did mean 8/25/05. My gut is still telling me that we will be in China in December. I don’t know what I would do without this website. My husband thinks I am an addict, but somehow it keeps me sane. I can’t wait to meet you all. Lets keep our chant of AOA going, ok? Blessings, Jill

  178. GrammaG Says:

I know RQ’s polls are not perfect science, and I’m no mathemetician, and many of you have probably already done this but… the number of (polled) referrals in August was 138. In September it was up to 170. IF the CCAA makes it through the 24th this time, it would be 187. (The most recent poll shows 187 while the previous poll is only 4 less than that for 8-10 through 8-24.) What I’m saying is that this would not be a huge increase from last month, considering the previous jump, but if the 24th is not included, it would be a very disappointing decrease. I’m hoping it is reasonable and realistic to hope for this. Hang in there everyone!

  179. spininstruc Says:

Hey I just checked the CCAA website and it is DOWN! Maybe things are beginning to CHANGE! Hold on the roller coaster is beginning to climb…tick.tick..tick…tick

  180. sebago girl Says:

if anyone hasn’t checked “a spot for rumors”
    you probably should

  181. flowerpower Says:

I am happy for all new parents!

But disappointed for the rest of us. No I don’ t feel very flowerypowery or laid back with this wait.

But I think that maybe some of the 24th of August could have been matched, had they wanted to splt the date, so maybe we will se some more next month.

  182. looneytunes32 Says:

angelsinpower – curious what agency you are with. If you click on my name you can email me through my site if you want….it would be great to meet up with some of my fellow RQ’ers.
    Mary
8/25/05 and it’s going to be a long month.

  183. waitingforcali Says:

According to the Spain site, the cutoff is definitely the 23rd. For those that will be included in this next batch, Congrats!! For those that are LID on the 24th and after (we are 9-5-05 LID), hang in there. We are inching closer and closer.

  184. looneytunes32 Says:

Considering I somewhat expected this, I’m incredibly disappointed and bummed.

    …..sigh…..

  185. e~t~c Says:

This doesn’t bode well for next month. We’ll be lucky if we only see 3 LID days included next month:(

    LID 8/24

  186. waitingforOliviaFL Says:

Just want to say congrats to all who are going to see the faces of their little ones and I’m so sorry for everyone who missed the cut off by a few days.

I’m personally so bummed that the cut off was only 8/23… I felt like this was the month we would see some sort of speed up and it is looking as though our wait will stretch beyond 18 months with a 12/14 LID… it is hard to comprehend and we feel like each month, we take a huge step backwards.

  187. eli Says:

I think at this point, anyone who says ‘ccaa wants to hold the wait at 12-14 months’ or ‘ ccaa does not want the wait to stretch too long, they must have a plan’ or ‘they’ll have to speed up at some point because no one wants a 2 year wait, even the ccaa’ has to face reality now.

its scary in a way that all the bad things we heard months ago but didn’t want to believe — like the 18 month wait from australia, and now the 2 year wait some agencies are finally predicting for summer/fall 06 folks — seem to be coming true.
none of the good stuff, only the bad stuff.

even the 8/23 rumor that we didnt want to believe yesterday seems to have come true.

  188. wrigsassy Says:

eli-I had that same thought. I was thinking yesterday that every month since we started that it has been bad news each month with the referrals. So I was thinking we were “due” some good luck with it at least making it through the 24th or later. Well, guess our whole experience will be with bad news coming true. I know it will all be worth it in the end but gee, I was so ready for lots of happy people on this site!! I am really happy for all those that are matched though, and can’t wait to see the pics-they are what will help me survive this next month. LID 8/24

  189. smalltowngirl Says:

Congratulations to TG and all those about to receive referrals!!

jfkof3, any news yet?? None here…

  190. eli Says:

Oh Wrigsassy, i’m sorry you missed the cutoff! That stinks. And i’m sorry to anyone who missed it ( and everyone else looking at an ever-increasing wait)

  191. jfkof3 Says:

smalltowngirl, no TA today, girl. Let’s hope for Monday. Enjoy your weekend, smiles to you. jfk

  192. smalltowngirl Says:

Darn, was hoping for you! The weekend is my work week unfortunately….but only these 3 days, and next week 3 more. Have a good weekend!

  193. jfkof3 Says:

smalltowngirl, that’s good you will be busy!!! hang in there. jfk

  194. PhotoHappy Says:

I’m not understanding why people have concluded 8.23 is the cutoff. There has been NO OFFICIAL confirmation as such. The fact that something appeared on a Spanish board even if it said there is “confirmation” still makes it still a RUMOR. The only way we’ll know for sure is when the CCAA posts.

  195. Happy Hour Says:

You are correct, Photohappy… Even though I’m an 8/22 LID and it looks like things are going my way… until I hear it from my agency or see it on CCAA, I can’t not breathe easily. Did check with my agency to see if the Delivery truck had been there yet today…. :-(

  196. janey1245 Says:

If the CCAA keeps doing half a month every month eventually the wait will be up to four years!!!

As more people come on board, each subsequent month will have a longer wait.

As it stands now we have a LID of 4/06 and if there is half month referred every month that will see us traveling in March or April of 2008!!!!

Figure it out yourself…just give every month two months to be gotten thru and it takes us to a 2 year wait for anyone who has a 4/06 LID. It will be slightly shorter for earlier LID and longer for those logged in after 4/06.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you calculate half month referrals, those LID in 10/06 won’t get their referrals until Feb. of 2009 and won;t travel until March or April of 2009!!! That is about a 29 month WAIT.

If it keeps going this way the program will grind to a halt. How many people are going to want to commit to an adoption that is three years away?. Maybe some, but not so many!!!

    It stinks, it really stinks.

Especially knowing that there are babies in China that need homes today.

  197. flowerpower Says:

Different topic – I just saw on one agency’ s webbsite that the wait for referral from Vietnam is as long as China’s. It has been creeping up real quick over the summer (guess why…).
And on top of the wait for referral you need to wait for travel for several months, so it is actually longer.
So I guess the best thing for us might still be to hang in there, at least for us who are already LID.

  198. Firsttimemom Says:

flowerpower – I checked on other programs after last month’s assignments (and when I did the math on a realistic waiting time for our 3/21/06 LID). By the time we’d start with any other alternative, the waiting would be as long or longer, including Vietnam for the reasons you just stated. We’re older (me 49, DH 40)
which puts us out of the running for some countries and we were told domestic adoption isn’t a great shot for us because of our age. Anyone with suggestions, I’d love to hear them.

  199. 2china2adopt Says:

Regarding the China length getting longer, my China Only agency stated that there will be something happening the 1st of the year. However they do not what it would be. Also we have a 10-06 LID date and they stated the wait will be around 2 years. SO with that said, I don’t assume the China government will take any drastic measures to cut the wait time. ????
Also they spoke about the China government commenting on the wait. It was said that China is still very determined to have the IA program. However the SW said that CCAA stated that the parents need to patient and wait for now.

So I am guessing 2-3 years, with anything sooner would be a happy day!

  200. janey1245 Says:

    2-3 Years…!!! Ouch.

I just called my friend who had a baby in Feb. She is pregnant again! She will have had 2 babies while I have been waiting.

I told her at the rate it is going, her babies will be babysitting for my little one.

Let’s hope nothing else comes up to further slow the wait…like bird flu or something. That is all we need now.

  201. waitingforcelia Says:

    Hi All,

This is WaitingforCelia2, dh of WaitingforCelia. I don’t read RQ as voraciously as my dw, but I’ve been here along with you all for some time. Even though we’re not LID until 9/29, we were really REALLY hoping we would get through 8/24 this month (and we still might? maybe?). Big smile for all those who will get to see a picture of their little girl (or boy) for the first time over the next week. Big hug to those who just missed.

A little analysis I’ve done based on RQ’s numbers. If I’m off, please correct me RQ when you return safely from your travels!

First, a general observation. Based on RQ’s 10/13 post “Some Calculations” and her poll numbers, it looks like RQ’s polls include about one quarter of the international China adoption community (pretty amazing!). Over the last six months there has been an average of about 150 poll referrals per month, and in “Some Calculations” RQ reports that there have been about 600 NSN referrals per month. (Keep in mind that these are all very rough approximations.) This means that if CCAA goes back to 1000 referrals a month, which seems to have been the recent norm prior to the slow down, we would get through about 250 poll referrals each month.

If I added right, here are the number of poll referrals over the last six months (assuming, alas, that the 23rd is the cut off date this month):

    May: 151
    June: 230
    July: 133
    August: 138
    September: 170
    October: 109
    Average: 155

June/July was a real rollercoaster. Getting through 230 in June made it look like things were getting back to 1000 real referrals a month (about 250 poll referrals). Sigh. Not to be.

A little more analysis I’ve done based on our 9/29 LID. Sorry to be using just one date, but hopefully it will at least provide some context for others.

For a 9/29 LID to get their referral in the month below, these are the number of poll referrals we would need to average each month until then:

    December: 252
    January: 168
    February: 126
    March: 101

    Quick analysis:

-The only chance 9/29 LIDers have of getting a referral in December is if CCAA suddenly returns to the old rate of about 1000 referrals a month starting next month. (Note that if we looked only at the number of days of referrals CCAA gets through next month, we wouldn’t have to get far to be on pace—only 10 days to September 2. Even if we only get through 3 days next month, that’s still 145 poll referrals, about average for the last six months. 3 days would still make my stomach do multiple somersaults, but it’s not quite as bad as it looks.)

-I think January is still in play for 9/29 LIDers. The number of referrals each month will have to go up, but (cautious optimism here!) there does seem to be some changes that make a small increase in the number of referrals plausible and it does seem possible that CCAA has already made a little progress with the 24th. In order to be on pace, we would only need to get through August 30 next month. (In fact, that would put us a fair bit ahead of pace.)

-It seems fairly likely that 9/29 LIDers will have a referral by February at the latest. In order to miss February, we would have to experience a pretty serious slowdown, even in comparison to the last year. In the last six months, only this month has been lower than 126 poll referrals, and it seems likely that this was due to how hard it was to get through the mountain of referrals on the 24th. But, sigh, you just never know. In order to be on pace, we would only need to get through the 26th next month.

IMHO, if 9/29 LIDers don’t get their referrals until March it’s fairly likely we’re experiencing a much more fundamental change in China’s international adoption program than a slowdown, although I suppose that just a slower slowdown than we’ve already experienced is possible.

This has been such a hard process for all of us. I just ache for my little girl. I know she’s out there somewhere, tugging on that red thread the best she can. I half believe that if I flew to China and just started wandering around we would somehow find each other well before our referral arrived. But as hard as it is I try to remember how lucky I am. Lucky that she’s coming into our life. Lucky for having a wonderful partner to love her with. Lucky to be in a place that I can reach out to China to find my little girl. Lucky even that China reaches back (in its own way, but it does reach back). Thinking about this doesn’t make the ache go away, but I try to remember that my heart is a lot bigger than the part that aches. I think I forget sometimes.

Thanks to all, the RQ and her court, who have made waiting a little easier,

    WaitingforCelia2

WaitingForCecilia2~ Okay, just when I was sooo down about a late Dec 05 LID I read your post. Thank you. I have to remember all of what you say. We are lucky. We may have to wait longer than we hoped, but we ARE lucky.

The visual of your little girl pulling on that red thread made me cry. I will keep that in mind when I am down. She is there, we are here and we are both holding on for dear life! We will meet. When? I don’t know. But we will. Until I can hold her safe in my arms, I will hold her in my heart.

We hope you see your daughter soon! Sounds like she has a wonderful Dad waiting for her!!!!!!!!!

WaitingFor Cecilia2 – Thank you for your post – this wait affects so many more than those of us that are on the vocal front line. My husband is in the background, depending upon me to “speak for him” – the silent partner. We’re all very emotional and so thankful for this forum. Gosh…I pray RQ hurries home. I’m about a mess from the stress today!

    Chilly,

Wow. That’s all I can say.

I have to echo Luna’s sentiments, your son sounds like an amazing young man.

I have three sons (two teens, and an 11 1/2 year old) — they are the greatest people. They are funny, smart, compassionate, loving, silly, serious, goofy and can be incredibly profound at times. I am in awe of the young men they are, and proud of the men they are becoming. I know you will feel the same way about your wonderful son.

Congratulations! I hope your TA comes quickly, because there is a young man on the other side of the world who needs his MAMA!!

    God Bless You both!~

Aug 24 people: you may want to check out the last few posts on the “spot for tumours” thread. Someone says she has spoken directly with her (small) agency who has confirmed with CCAA that some or all of their Aug 24 LIDs WILL be included in this next batch. (Or am I misreading? It seemed pretty clear, and not secondhand.) Anyhoo, just wanted to let you know before you finished that bottle of wine and bid adieu to basic motor skills ;)

  229. chilly Says:

    Wetbird,

Day #73 (now #74) of TA wait is actually normal. I’m assuming you are an NSN adoption, right? (Must be, with a LID of last October) With SN adoptions (I’m adopting a deaf teen-ager, both his deafness and his age alone would qualify him as SN), things are different. TA normally comes within 3-5 months from the last major paperwork event. My LID is 08/09/06, nearly a year after yours, but I will be traveling before you will, because they process SN adoptions faster than NSN. Your time for TA starts from referral–I never had a referral, since my child was in “waiting” status and we were matched (by me) at the beginning of the process instead of the end.

So don’t waste too much sympathy on me. There are people on some of my chat boards whose dossiers got totally screwed up and put in the wrong room by CCAA (one of ‘em twice–yikes!!) and they are on day #160+. But I’m right in there, time-wise. Should happen in the next month, if all stays normal.
