Maybe the cut off is different for different agencies depending on their LIDs for August. Maybe all of this points to a late August cut off (28th?) and agencies saying 23, 24, 26th or whatever have been told that because that is their last LID group receiving referrals.
What do you think?

Maybe these are “readjusted” LID’s? Or pre-adjusted LID’s, so that they are officially (from the CCAA) an earlier date? That may be why each agency is saying different dates, as they may have groups affected differently from the readjustment? Just a hypothesis. I have no actual idea, nor does it affect me immediately. I’m just hoping for referrals because seeing everyone else’s gives me a little glimmer of hope.

At this point, I’m just ready to hear the real cut off date. All this speculation is killing me. Come on CCAA! Make a move. Give us more than we’re expecting…PLEASE!!! We all need a bit of a boost, because the long wait is wearing on us all.

I don’t know how much more of this I can take. I know I should not be sitting in front of the computer waiting and praying for you Aug LIDers, but I can’t help it. My dh is threatening to dispose of my pc and laptop because the wait is putting me over the edge and I can’t tear myself away. (We are not even LID until 6/18) Thank you for the support we all have here!

I’m sorry for your loss, jrw. It’s really hard losing a parent and I’m sorry your dad didn’t get to see your baby. Since we started this adoption, my brother and my dear mother-in-law have died. My mother passed away years ago but I really wish all of them could have lived to see our baby girl. Your family is in my thoughts.

I’m a first time poster, and am starting to think that some from the agencies may be trying to confuse us all. I think they are all tired of us calling them and asking questions about information we are receiving from this site. I am addicted to RQ site and love her for everything she has done. We are so stressed and anxious. Hoping and praying for AOA referrals this month. I can’t sleep or eat anymore with this roller coaster ride.

hmmm……..with all these dates anyone thing CCAA might be playing the agencies to see who rats out the dates? JRW–sorry bout your pop. My dad has been through the ringer over the years and is having some blood issues right now that aren’t good. His dad died of leukemia, so kind of upset about the whole thing and hoping we get our baby soon for all of us……

AOA, SOS (some of september). Our agency said the CCAA combined 2 travel groups with LID’s of 8/30 and 9/5, no mention of when they will get their referrals though.

I know we were on pins and needles with my father in law, the latest test indicated the cancer did not spread to his bones, good news for us. The delays are getting to them.

I am so very sorry for your loss. My Dad died 7 months ago yesterday. It’s the hardest thing I have ever gone through. My daughter believes that Papa is watching over her baby sister in China. He was so very excited about this baby, he really wanted to go to China with us, it was something he had always dreamed about. I know that nothing anyone can say really helps, but my thoughts are with you.

Hi! We live about 50 miles from Raleigh. We are just about DTC. Dossier is in translation and should be sent out before the end of Oct. I have been waiting to see if anyone near our area was around.
I am very excited each month when referrals come and know if I am staying up late monitoring things now I will be a complete mess before this whole thing is over.

We are sort of south east of Raleigh. My brother’s family lives in Raleigh. He works in RTP. He is keeping our son this weekend for my DH’s 20th class reunion.

I am very familiar with Wake Med. I did a fieldwork there back in 1989. Do you live South or north of Raleigh?

I just talked to my agency, just to find out our log in date is wrong. We were not logged in on September 6th, but on the 14th. The date hasn’t been moved, they have either told me the wrong date (they said “sorry if that is the case”) or I remember wrong. All my old e-mails were erased in a computer crasch some time ago so I can’t check it, and at the end of the day it really doesn’t matter who’s to blame.
Well, the bottom line is: Hope is out for a November referral. I have to think December.

I just called my agency (1:00 pm here) and they did not receive anything yet. The lady told me that the CCAA had NOT been sent out the referrals yet .
It’s 7:00 pm in China, so I think today won’t be the day eighter. Grrrrrrrrrr!

Long time lurker….really long….first time to post.
We’re another of the 8/24ers. I previously told our large China-only agency that my DH and I are probably the most calm clients they have. At least until this month! We have two 6-month old labs pups that usually need to go out about 3 a.m. The past week, I’ve been logging on to check CCAA while the puppies (70 lbs and 60 lbs!) are outside. Now, my DH, who used to have no clue about any of this until I filled him in, is rolling over and asking “any news?” when I come back to bed. AND….if he’s the one to let the boys out, he checks CCAA! He’s even starting to read RQ!
To those NC folks….we live in Cary! AND…DH worked for Wake Med until August.
Keeping fingers AND toes crossed…..

Struggling to not get obsessed. I’m expecting November to be pretty stressful, so I’m taking on a project to distract myself.

You guys are too funny!!! I thought I as the only one concerned about the recycyle bins. The pickup for them was yesterday but I decided to wait until next wee. Maybe I will be able to cover up the wine bottles with the soda cans by then. But then again, by next week there will be more wine bottles.Hmmm. What to do? What to do?
BTW, at this point, I would just like this to know one way of the other. With an 8/30 LID, I am not in the game this month but would like to know if I still am next month. My agency emailed me last night and said that the “referrals were coming VERY soon.” I am starting to think that this is going to be one of those months where the CCAA site is updated long after we already know the cutoff date from our agencies.
I am exhausted from these last night watches and sm so glad that we have a Hurricane weather day tomorrow and I don’t have to go to school.

well, it’s 7am here in Denver…and it’s snoooooooowing. not supposed to get too much here, but the southern edge of town and down is supposed to get quite a bit.
I woke up, looked out the window and thought…of all the days, This would probably be the day. That’s just the DW’s and my luck. Not that getting around town will be too bad, just the situation is funny. I don’t care if there’s 2-3feet. if we got the call today and could go down to our agency to get our referral we would. LOL
sounds like that won’t be happening today however, but one never knows. I just would like to know if those referrals have been sent yet or what. No one seems to have a straight answer…even about the cut-off dates. I’ve never seen sources saying things all over the spectrum like there’s been this month. ai ai ai!

yes it’s really quite nice around here with the snow. we have a good sized Austrian Pine tree in our front yard that is awesome to see when covered with snow.
The snow here doesn’t worry me tooo much though. I’m originally from NE Ohio so it’s never that bad to me here…and when it is, it melts soon enough after anyways. LOL :)

dreamed last night I was in a room and there was a whole big platform of chubby little naked chinese babies. As I was looking at them, searching for my daughter, I was riveted by one child in particular and I thought, “Wow. Of all of these babies…this is the one”. My first thought upon waking was, “I’ll bet that means we will get our referral this month after all”! My second thought was, “wow, Sara Kathyrn is really chubby. I hope all of those millions of outfits I bought her will fit” Its a terrible thing to go thru life and be this shallow LOL! Wishing us all some peace and certainty. Here’s what we’re doing. We have made reservations at a hotel and are going to Legoland this weekend. This is helping me get this extended wait out of my obsessive mind and have something fun to look forward to. We wanted to make the trip before our third one comes since our youngest is old enough to enjoy it now. We should all plan SOMETHING exciting this weekend, then when we get back and start the new week we should have our referrals.

Good morning fellow bloggers I dont have a LID
until 11/18/05, This month seems to be taking it’s
toll on us out there a ways too. I wish you guys
could get the answers you were looking for nobody
likes this limbo business. I cant imagine with Oct
& Nov being so HUGE and the LID in the middle
it’s going to be another 6-8 months on this roller
coaster. I know I can handle this physically but
mentally I am not sure. I have to rememeber to
just BELIEVE there has to be a turn a round soon
I am so pulling for you all!!!!!! If they get thru the
24th, I would love to know if this will decrease our
wait a little bit. RQ will you do a projection based
on the 23rd,24th,28th, That way we know what
were looking at. I think if it’s infront of us the
shock wont be so bad if it ends up being the
worst case.

What does “TA´s for the )/25 means? My english is not very good and I´m new here.
In Spain, my agency says that they are going to get de referrals until 24th, but they don´t have them yet. Their are very serius so I think they said that because they realy know.

SN is just a totally different process. You send your letter of intent to adopt, and then wait for TA (as long as your dossier was already there). For some it takes around 60 days, but lately its been taking forever. No explanation why except probably alot more families doing SN now.

TG & Leia, what part of town are you guys in? We live in way-west Lakewood at about 6000 feet, and we already had 6-8″ of snow when I left the house at 7:30am! I’m a little worried about getting back up the hill this afternoon if it keeps snowing like this. Of course, if they called & said my referral was here today (HA! as if…I’m LID Aug. 1 ‘06, so I’ll be lucky if they’re calling me on this day next year), I’d cross-country ski down to Centennial if necessary.

we live out by DIA…Green Valley Ranch. but we work just north of downtown. it’s still snowing here, and is accumulating more, but still doesn’t look toooo bad yet.
i’m with you there though…doesn’t matter how much snow or what, if they called and said referrals were in we’d be on the way Pronto! :)

My almost-3-YO son decided in the last snowstorm that shoveling the driveway is fun & is now his job. I think he can have at it tonight!
Leia, I worry about our trees too. We have a giant maple in our front yard that’s 35 years old, and I would be terribly sad if we ever lost it. It’s so big I can’t knock the snow off the top part. I bet you’ll have a lot of snow too when you get home — sounds like you’re not too far away from where we live.
I think all 3 of us should leave early today & go home to beat our trees, shovel snow, and of course, hit the “refresh” button repeatedly as we wait for RQ to bring us good news.

Gee tg-we live in Green Valley Ranch too! Small world! I just went out and shoveled-it is wet and heavy! While shoveling one of those delivery of packages trucks went by and a plane went over head so things are moving in this part of Denver!!
Took my DH one and 1/2 hours to get to Golden this a.m.. I am lucky to be on fall break so I don’t have to drive today unless we get the call and then if I had to I would hook up our two cats to a sled to get to the agency (probably be quicker to walk??).

These chiildren if anyone is interested are the most loving and caring beautiful children I have ever met. I have a six year old granddaughter with special needs and a 4 year old grandson with hearing problems. My granddaughter is just the greatest and is always concerned with everyone else and loves to go to Riley and talk to the kids. She has progressed far beyond what they ever imagined. They give us far more than we give them.
