SN TA’s
SN TA’s have arrived at two agencies.
A few agencies are starting to warn that the rest of the NSN TA’s may still be a good bit away from being sent.
I wish I knew more. But I don’t. I want to scream “Don’t they know the babies are waiting! Getting TA’s out is IMPORTANT!!!” But, the sad thing is that it feels like no one but us cares. I’m not saying no one else cares, just saying it feels like we are the only ones who care.

How much is a “good bit way” for NSN TA’s. Some families are leaving this week that received Sept referrals. IF it is too much later, our I171H could expire. I am still holding on to this week. Surely, it will be soon. Have a great afternoon!
October 30th, 2006 at 2:25 pm
Congrats to the SN family’s that got TA’S today. I am
just amazed I was gone for 4-days and no word yet
on Referrals or NSN TA’S, I just hope the long wait
for everyone means that they might have gotten a
bit further this month.

We got our SN TA today!! LID 2-15-06 NSN, LOI 8-25-06. And RQ, I couldnt agree more with your statement. It does feel like we are the only ones who cares. I was really really angry yesterday thinking about these kids sitting there while people take 3 weeks of vacation at a time, with not a soul to sign off on TAs. I hope we see NSN TAs and these referrals this week!
October 30th, 2006 at 2:39 pm
Breezy, I am SO very happy for you. It’s time for the Snoopy Dance, go celebrate. This is great news!!!!
October 30th, 2006 at 2:41 pm
For the NSN… are they saying what they mean by a “good bit away” ?
October 30th, 2006 at 2:47 pm
I have a dumb question… What is SN vs NSN?
October 30th, 2006 at 2:50 pm
waitingforsarah - NSN is non-special needs, SN is special needs.
RQ, Is it possible that they are holding this month’s referrals until after 11/1 because that is the start of their new year? Perhaps that could indicate some sort of shift in policy and number of referrals? (I know, I’m grasping here, but …)
October 30th, 2006 at 2:57 pm
Congrats Breezy on your SN TA!!! WOOHOO!
October 30th, 2006 at 2:59 pm
How are you holding up jfk? Did you agency think it might be this week for you TA? My agency said “soon” ????

hotmama-good thought, but their year ends at the end of November. I’d love to think that, at least there’d be hope for a referral this week.
October 30th, 2006 at 3:02 pm
This has just gotten INSANE!!! Our large China only agency posted last Wednesday that matches had been made. Where in the heck are they? I am saddened that many people are now leaving the China program and seeking other avenues. I’m not convinced that China is seeing fewer girls abandoned simply because eyewitness accounts talk about orphanages filled with children needing a home.
My husband is beginning ask the question, “When are we just done–when do we get our lives and our ability to plan back?” We have opted to forgo promotions, vacations, summer camp for one of our kids last summer…all because, “We might be going to China….” I have no idea what the folks in China are thinking–but this really has reached the point of cruelty. I don’t think adoption is a game–but I sure feel like I’m being jerked around for someone else’s pleasure.
We might be able to take the uncertaintly if we just knew WHY!!! Like the RQ, why is this all so cloak and dagger–how difficult would it be for the CCAA to provide a forcast of things to come.
I just don’t get it.

AMEN SISTA!!!!

RQ, have you had any thought to hotmama’s post, or any news to this. Just curious, thank you.
mendy, I don’t have news at all from our end. Soon tomorrow would be nice..ha. Hang in there!!! jfk

Just noticed your blog says “This entry was posted on Monday, October 30th, 2006 at 3:06 pm.” But it’s only 2:11 PM EST. Someone’s clock is wrong (LOL)!

WOW, I just can’t believe how this is dragging on! I am LID 06 and quite honestly, you guys are really inspiring to me because I would be out of my mind! Lets all hang in there! IT has to be soooooooon!
October 30th, 2006 at 3:13 pm
I’m with you Liz.
It’s kind of like being in a dysfunctional relationship. Do you keep taking the hits, hoping it will get better, or right itself? Or do you cut your losses, and walk away.
That is where I am at right now. If things do not change in the next 2 months, hubby and I will be having a serious heart to heart; with me suggesting we just take our lives in another direction.
We’ve jumped through the hoops, and tried to do the right things, but I’m just feeling downright abused at this point.
October 30th, 2006 at 3:15 pm
hotmama, I believe the CCAA “adoption year” ends Nov. 30. So the new year would start Dec. 1.
Congratulations to those who are receiving their TAs, that is a bit of great news during this very confusing month.
October 30th, 2006 at 3:19 pm
Rats. Thx for the clarification.
October 30th, 2006 at 3:22 pm
Thanks everyone for the TA congrats. Whoever posted about CCAA’s year starting over November 1-I think you may be on to something there. Why else would they be done matching last week with no word of referrals being sent?
October 30th, 2006 at 3:22 pm
My husband and I waited 15 months for our first daughter in 2001-2002. We will look at her sometimes and talk about how if one thing went different we might not have her as our daughter. There is not one thing we would change. I know every one is frustrated and rightly so but once you get that referral nothing else will matter so please hang in there! It will happen. We are waiting for daughter #2 and each day I tell myself it means more time for just the 3 of us and I try to make the best of it and I’m not a very optimistic person but I know in my heart that this will turn out! It will happen!!
October 30th, 2006 at 3:23 pm
I just can’t take this. I thought it was hard waiting 14months…now the wait for the TA is driving me insane. I just want my TA.
Our agency had said they would be released by last Friday…but no word from them today.
UGHHHHH.
October 30th, 2006 at 3:30 pm
Breezy -
See above. CWS corrected me, noting that the new CCAA year begins Dec 1 rather than Nov 1. I was hoping I was on to something, too … but am going to keep thinking of possible reasons that this bizarre month will turn into something wonderful! Good luck, all!!
October 30th, 2006 at 3:38 pm
okay, my simple-minded question would absolutely have to be:
why? why would it be that the remaining TAs are going to take that long (they’ve taken long enough already). And WHY if they were done matching last week have we not heard or seen anything about the referral packets?
is there something going on at the CCAA we don’t know about? someone not there to sign off on anything? I know the trade fair didn’t affect Beijing…soooo what the ???
anyone…anyone…??? Bueller? Bueller??
October 30th, 2006 at 3:38 pm
RQ - I don’t think that Bejing cares at all. I think that alot of the workers are just doing a job and that they are disconnected from the orphanages. I’ve heard much too much about vacations and poor work ethics. I’m sorry, but I just think that many are just put into these jobs. Sad. Maybe I’m wrong, but after almost 14 months I’ve not seen anything to show me differently.
October 30th, 2006 at 3:41 pm
Maybe the CCAA is moving again…lol, how long did that rumor excuse the way things went?
October 30th, 2006 at 3:49 pm
Referral was 9/25/06 and still waiting for TA. Argh! What’s involved with TAs anyway? I guess I always thought it was them making sure our acceptances were in order and kind of signing off on them. Is it more complicated and I just don’t realize it? My agency has already said we’ve missed the early travel date they’d hoped for us. Now we’re hoping to get TA in time to leave Nov. 16th. Meanwhile, our children wait, we can’t make travel plans, our jobs don’t know what to do with us…now, I’ll be the first to admit that this wait is nothing close to as excruciating as the final countdown to referral was, but it is hard nonetheless when you know where she is and can’t get to her because of paperwork. Frustrating to say the least.
October 30th, 2006 at 3:55 pm
Breezy…congrats on your TA! DH and I are both hanging out by our phones today in hopes to get the call! SABRECMC, we are LOI 9/19 w/ LID 12/7/05 and were hoping to be included in this next batch of TA’s…maybe this week?!?! We sure hope so!! When was your LID SABRECMC? Anyone else know how it works if you’re already through review when you send your LOI? And…..A ladybug was on my car window at lunch today! Good luck?!? Maybe?!? Let’s hope.
October 30th, 2006 at 3:58 pm
I just hope October referrals are not completely missed and the CCAA waits until the end of next month to issue another batch. I don’t think I could handle that!!
October 30th, 2006 at 4:01 pm
Hello Everyone,
Congrats to whoever received SN TA’s today!
Do you think it’s possible that there won’t be an official ‘cutoff date’ because they have shifted some DTC/LID’s? Maybe only half of LID’s from a particular day will receive referrals, for example? Has that ever happened?
Also, for some reason I was under the impression that CCAA’s fiscal year starts Dec. 1…..???

chasdav6us - I totally agree with you. We have had to juggle our schedules so much this past year that I am dying to get back to a normal lifestyle. OUr kids have been feeling the brunt of things.

Congrats to those of you who get your SN TAs today - I know that many of you have been waiting far longer than the 4 weeks we have been waiting.
And to add fuel to the “not for a while” fire, my agency feels that it is a good guess that the earliest that we would see our NSN TA would be the end of the week - the earliest. We are all just working off assumptions, but we do know that ours were not signed as of the end of last week.
