It looks like there is good reason to believe referrals will begin arriving Thursday.
UPDATE: Also a reason to believe that at least some of the 8/24’s will be included.

I’m not putting it down as a sure thing yet, but there are several reasons that make me think these are referrals.
After the last two weeks, there is no way I’m calling it a sure thing. Hence the wording “good reason to believe”.

See- there is a reason that there are ladybugs all over my windows and doors- they are trying to get in! Today I caught one without any spots… And my sister called to tell me that she picked up her neighbor today and their little girl was dressed as a ladybug… Praying for a BIG batch this week.

My daughter is dressed up as a ladybug at daycare today and will be trick or treating tonight. She is a big, cute ladybug and surely will help bring on these referrals (and TAs for those STILL waiting)! A picture of her in her ladybug costume is in the slideshow on my blog.

That would be so great! Another ladybug siting. I was in K-mart yesterday and saw a chinese mother with her little girl and they were picking out a halloween costume and guess what, it was a ladybug!! and the littled girl even had it on. Looked like a good thing to me!

Can anyone tell me what is the average time between referral and travel to China? My agency says between 6 and 8 weeks, but from what everyone is saying here, it seem more like 10-12 weeks? Yikes do I now have to suffer yet another round of waiting w/o knowing after I get my referral? although considering my dog-walker is going away from 12/15-1/4, maybe that is a good thing!

Does anyone know if the CCAA has ever issued only a partial day of LID’s? It seems like the biggest question has been focused on whether all the 24th or only some of the 24th will be included in this batch. I didn’t think they did partial LID’s so it makes me wonder.

I have been on the sidelines reading posts for the past week and feel the need to join in on the positive news of incoming TA’s and referrals. Yeah!!! Fortunately for me, I have been on pain killers due to my fractured elbow (fell off a ladder painting our room-so much for nesting!) thank goodness for the Vicodin, it’s been a tough week all around. Of course people who are caring for my pets want definitive answers from me, and they have no idea why I have no idea. I feel like they don’t believe me!

Lauriesue The times you agency stated sounds about right to me, in general to what I have seen in the past few years and my own experience. My Referral to TA was exactly 5 weeks (my TA came in the same package as the next batch of referrals) and Referral to Travel was one day shy of 7 weeks. But there were no holidays or Trade Shows to slow things down between my referral and my travel. Perhaps times are slower now (particularly for August and September referrals) because of the Trade Show (and wasn’t there a holiday in October too?)

LaurieSue: I have been watching travel dates with the July DTC referral groups. Most agencies seem to have a consulate appt. (CA) about 1 month after they receive TA. They leave for China 2 to 3 weeks after receiving TA. My med size agency seems to leave for China 1 month after receiving TA and therefore requests CA a little over 5 weeks from the date they received TA. TA’s seem to arrive 3 to 6 weeks after referral. I hope this is helpful.

I had promised myself that I was going on a strict RQ “diet” and would only check in once a week. I’m so glad I have no will power! I love good news. Hi there.
I’m so happy for you, jfk, and happy for those of you who’ll hopefully be getting referrals this week. So very exciting!
At the same time, I am so very discouraged and depressed about all the uncertainty, lack of information, and fears about the wait … I just called my DH and asked him how he feels about Ethiopia. It would be a nightmare for us to switch now, but I can’t stand being in this terrible purgatory!
Can one of you kind souls please talk me down?!

Wow guys, this is awesome. Congrats JFK! My agency confirmed that the referrals had been sent and that it takes 4 days usually. So, if htey went out yesterday, that means Thursday. I am hoping to be included and will be happy to just ‘know’ timing nonetheless.
Jackie, I am sorry for your pain. I am wondering if you are feeling hopeless and scared because you are needing clarity and safety? It sure wouldn’t be surprising after all of the scary cliff hanger moments. Since you asked to be talked off the ledge, I am wanting to offer the suggestion of sitting quietly and checking in with yourself. If you are making the decision based on fear, listen carefully to yourself. Pretend that you have decided to switch, when you ‘hear’ that, do you feel joy? Fear? Relief? Sadness? Those feelings are your inner guidance. Trust the message of your response to the different scenarios. When you are coming from a position of fear, it isn’t your inner guidance, it is just a form of self-protection and not always what you truly in your heart wants to do. You know best what is best for you and I totally trust that you will make an excellent decision for yourself and your family. Blessings to all, Jill

I like having people on this board and in this wait with me that are in my place. Although we all go through it together no matter what our LID, I think that each stage/each month has it’s own set of feelings. Sort of like pregnancy, don’t you think? We are FIVE plus months into this! Congratulate yourself on being this far along. Did you ever think 5 months would pass when you first were DTC? I didn’t. Now we are old hats.
I was distraught a month ago. I know the place you are in. I found some things that made it better. If you want help, I can tell you what they are.
I want to tell you something my friend’s agency told her. They saw referral wait times from China go up to 15 months once and then in just 3 months it shortened to 8 months. That means 7 months worth of referrals were completed in just 3 months. Things can and have gotten better very quickly. Reminds me of Wizard of Oz, “We aren’t in Kansas anymore, Toto.” Nothing can be predicted with any certainty.
You and DH will make your decisions based on what is best for your family and what you can handle. I would be sad to see you leave our community. However, any child from anywhere in the world, who needs parents will be blessed beyond measure to have a mama who feels as deeply as you do. You are a treasure.
If you stick with it, I look forward to a picture with you on the Red Couch at the White Swan.

Ok, thought you all might like to hear this. I have a student (I teach 4 year olds) who just returned to class yesterday after a week in FL. He was in FL getting his new brother. They were both adopted domestically. We have a few kids in the class who were adopted and we have talked about adoption and the different ways that people become a family.
We had show and tell today and this little guy brought in pictures of his new brother. The “audience” gets to ask questions. They ALWAYS ask the same ones no matter what the item is(Have you had it a long time? Do you sleep with it? Where do you keep it? Where did you get it?). SO, someone asked “Where did you buy him?” Sweet Spencer’s answer, “You don’t BUY babies. You get them from some lady’s tummy!” The entire class was like, “Oh, ok.” How awesome is that?

I have a friend who has a chihuahua (I think I spelled that right - you know…the little dog) anyway, she dressed it as a ladybug too. Sooooo cute.

Congrats to Jfk and those getting TA’s. I can’t wait to for referrals- the photos and excitement! This has been quite a journey, but the referral pics get me thru :) I am still holding out hope for a possible speed up in referrals- any one else?? Am I the only eternal optimist? (or am I in denial?)

Maybe you won’t see any resemblance, but everyone here finds it pretty amazing… I have newer ones where you can see the resemblance more, I think, but don’t know how to get them where you can see them.

They are from the same province, Jiangxi. Except Delaney was from Fengcheng SWI. And if I remember correctly your Katie is from Fuzhou. I am planning on doing a mission trip to that orphanage next year and I am so excited about that. Figure I might as well since it looks like it’ll be forever before I get to bring our meimei home. I do have some recent pics, but they are not on the site yet. Let me see if I can get some on there, and then I’ll put it on the home page so you won’t have to join. I’ll let you know when I get it up.

We had an adorable Tootsie Roll come to our door! We had angels, Grim Reaper, various princesses, Darth Vader, Firefigter, the cutest little Speed Racer… about 150 trick or treaters. We sat in our driveway. It was a blast!

So far, 3 lady bugs, tons of princesses, an adorable unicorn, lots of superheroes and scary guys/gals. Too fun seeing all the kids. It is so cold here but the kids are still having a blast!

We have had about 60 or so trick or treaters. Many cute bugs, ghosts and goblins. One Pink Princess … our 3 year old neighbor adopted from China two years ago!
On a wonderful note … my sister’s (and her dh) domestic adoption of my soon-to-be nephew is finally being finalized this Thursday. Just got word tonight from my mom. It has been a “battle” for the past year or so. He is five years old, resilient and a real sweetheart!
Now I just need the cut-off date!

Hi we had 3 ladybugs tonight. Trick or treating was fun. The cutest outfit was our friends daughter 20 months old was a white chicken with feathers all over her outfit. Everyone was commenting on that one. My son ( 9) of course has outgrown the cute costumes so was a bloody zombie(nice!)
P.S. Note from agency today. We are DTC today. I hope if they are indeed having an internal problem right now that it doesn’t effect our LID. Anyway, very excited to know we are officially DTC. (TREAT)

Our daughter’s little friend was spiderman riding a stuffed horse. Her legs were the horses legs. She couldn’t decide which she wanted to be more….cowgirl, spiderman…..so she was both!

Well it is officially November 1st now where we live. Our one year LID anniversary & my sweet daughter’s 7th birthday. Life goes by so fast. My daughter was a ferocious (but cute) tiger and my 3 yr old son was Shrek. No trick or treaters - country living.

We talked to our China only agency yesterday and they said something along the lines of “Oh, I wouldn’t be surprised if referrals arrived any day now.” So, apparently they knew SOMETHING…. I cannot WAIT until all of y’all receive your referrals!!!
Now… I’m off to be RE-FINGERPRINTED for that darn 171-H (how in the world fingerprints can expire is absolutley beyond me!!!).

Our little one dressed up as a skunk, she was so darn cute! Every house we went to they all loved her costume and would tell her how cute she was and she would reply “I’m a stinker too!” they would laugh so hard at her reply. One house we went to they had a bunch of people outside and a older guy was laughing at the little skunk and said “I smell something stinky” and our little skunk proudly said “it’s me!” and she turned around for him and lifted up her tail….too funny!
