Breathing a little easier today. My agency just notified us that the reason the referrals have been matched but not mailed is that the matching room director was indeed out of the office last week.
Let’s hope that he is getting caught up quickly with all of his paper work.

I think I read here probably that there are two people that can sign referrals but I’m now recalling end of May 2004 that our referral was delayed until 6/7/04 b/c the director was gone.

sebago girl, thanks for this scrap of info. Maybe two people can sign the referrals but the director still has to review the whole shebang(?) Nice to see a simple explanation for the delay.

We got our TA today, last week I had this Tuesday TA in my mind and couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t so, I was on the wrong Tuesday. This is definitely a treat and not a trick. Now come on more treats, referrals.

I’m not sure it makes sense that they were delayed because the director of the matching room was out. Last year (or maybe early this year?) there was a big to-do about how they have a couple of people who can sign off on them now. The director of the CCAA, the director of the matching room, and the (forget her exact title, but basically manager of the matching room) can also sign them now as well. We were told they would never schedule them to all be out of the office at the same time.
So, this just really doesn’t make sense to me.
Also, it doesn’t make sense that TA’s wouldn’t have been sent because the director of the Matching room was out.
However, if this is the case, I would have thought they would have been mailed Monday. Monday was a holiday in China, but I’m told they were not closed for the holiday. Kind of like our Halloween or Valentines day, it’s a holiday but everyone still works.

I have done fairly well until this week waiting on my TA. I guess it is because I know Joleigh’s birthday is Sunday. We will just have to celebrate that special day later!

I think at this point agencies are just making stuff up, because they’ve run out of things to tell people.
Hopefully the news about NSN TA’s is not going to go the way of the referrals that were received in Spain last week. We’ve had alien abductions and dogs eating the referrals. I’ve been reduced to talking like a pirate. Next thing we’ll hear is that a T-Rex ate the director!

POSSIBLE GOOD NEWS! My agency just contacted me and said there is a package from DHL in the mail for them! They said that they can’t imagine what else it could be but referrals and should have it in their hands by Thursday!!!!!!

Lauriesue-Do you usually hear from your agency? Are they usually conservative? I can’t jump off that cliff again, the land sucks. I’m telling myself that it is something else, but certainly not referrals.

My agency is incredibly conservative and never tells me anything. They did say they can’t confirm it is referrals, but they can’t think what else it is.
