Tuesday morning in China
It’s Tuesday morning in China. Will they finish the matching and mail them during this business day? If so then we can expect to see them Thursday. Or will they do as MaddysMom suggested and wait until Friday when a whole new yearly quota starts before they sign them and mail them out? There are a bunch of agencies expecting them to arrive this week, and that means they have to be mailed Tuesday or Wednesday. If those agencies are correct.
An another note, we finally get to see how the new server is going to hold up under stress. The other server did okay until we had around 260 people on the blog and 120 people on the forum all at once. Today we had around 205 people on the blog and 110 people on the forum and it did just fine. I’m sure that the next couple of days will get us back up to those tip-top levels though and we’ll see what happens.

We cut our Christmas Tree yesterday and put it in the house today. My husband got a ladybug off of the tree—-maybe good luck for the Sept LID.

Already? Is it just me or is this month flying by???
November 27th, 2006 at 8:53 pm
jmlance, yes, and December goes by even faster than November!!!
November 27th, 2006 at 9:04 pm
a friend was just in China and while in GZ the US consulate said that they had done about 7,000 visas instead of the usual 8,000 for the kids…so…hope they hurry and send these out before the new quota has begun!?
November 27th, 2006 at 9:11 pm
Ni Hao all! Well, here we are again, waiting and watching, hoping for any glimmer of a rumor or something to hold on to. As I went to bed last night, I didn’t anticipate hearing any news today. However, tonight, I’m feeling more curious, more nervous. Is this a sign? I sure hope so. A momma in KY is waiting for some good news. I could use some right about now. (LID 11/04 Waiting for Karsynn)

November 27th, 2006 at 9:19 pm
I don’t know what is going to happen…and how it is going to happen…but I truly hope that the September families are united this week with their little ones….if only just through part of the month…I hope this week brings you what you have been waiting so long for…and if the other Sept. families do not get their referral…that December provides you wilth your much desired wish…
I went on a much needed vacation this past week…and everything seems to be so much more clear to me now.
I just want to rejoice in others happiness and let that fill me up until my time comes…whenever that will be….
I truly am excited for everyone who is about to meet their child….it is amazing…truly amazing!!!

im sorry but can anyone tell me what the new quotas are or will be? i thought that 8,000 children are allowed to be adopted a year. Is that changing?
November 27th, 2006 at 9:22 pm
Are there any other Feb 06 LIDers here also?
November 27th, 2006 at 9:36 pm
Emmasmom1 - We are LID Feb 17th 2006. Hoping for a HUGE batch this month so that we are one month closer ourselves :)
Also wishing to officially see that Feb is out of the review room.

I’m holding fast to a Sept. 24th LID cutoff. I just can’t give it up. It’s finally hit me, that my baby IS born already, that right now someone is probably NOT holding her. The wait was much easier the first time. I didn’t know what it felt like to hold my dd. I didn’t know what the inside of the orphanages looked like. I’m usually such an optimistic person, but the wait is wearing. . . LID 11/16
November 27th, 2006 at 9:46 pm
The message about the length of time “regarding the wait” on the CCAA’s website is dated the end of November 2005. I’m wondering if they will replace this with an updated statement at the end of this “year” as well. It would be nice to think they might give us some glimmer of insight as to what the next year will hold, at least in terms of a trend.

November 27th, 2006 at 9:53 pm
Hi: I am hoping things go a little more quickly. We are approaching our LID anniversary and I have been pretty patient but the anxiety is just showing up now. I am also getting ready to send in for my renewal of the I-171H. I was hoping to avoid this, but I don’t want to get caught either. I think the office here in LA will be getting busier with the renewals and we have a new officer there too.
November 27th, 2006 at 10:11 pm
do we think that with the start of their new “fiscal” year that maybe there will be a speed up NEXT month?
getting anxious about that dern 171…….renew? or not?
November 27th, 2006 at 10:17 pm
Ladybug4–
I understand your pessimism and if you’re typically optimistic maybe you can envision your child in a foster home getting lots of attention, or at an orphanage with a Half the Sky program!!! I’m thinking that our little one is wondering: Where in the world are those people, and why don’t they come and pick me up already?
Since she’s already a part of me, I’m trying my best to “hold her” in my heart just in case she’s not being physically held right now. I may be crazy but I like to think that since I can feel her in my arms, she can feel me hugging her.
November 27th, 2006 at 10:20 pm
Violet-We started the renewal at the end of Sept. and are expecting our I-171H renewal in 3 weeks, just to give you an idea of the timeline we experienced. (we had to do a homestudy addendum)
November 27th, 2006 at 10:27 pm
jksweber~
I, too, feel the same way. Sometimes I walk into Karsynn’s nursery and imagine what changes are to come in our lives. I wind up her mobile and let it play as I rock quietly. I send prayers and good wishes her way, and I somehow believe that wherever she is at that very moment she knows that she’s loved. I have enough love for her in my heart to travel across endless miles of ocean and land. It’s the strangest feeling in the world. I know some people think I must be crazy, but my philosophy is, “Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take rather the number of moments that take your breath away.” Each and every time I think of Karsynn, that dear sweet child that is a name without a face, I’m left breathless. If only the officials at CCAA could feel an ounce of the love that I feel for Karsynn, then they would surely make their decisions more quickly. I love their Chinese daughter with my whole heart, with every ounce of energy I have. It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced before.
November 27th, 2006 at 10:27 pm
We’re LID 11/30, with CIS expiring mid April. Our Minnesota agency told us we could wait till mid-Feb and then do the renewal “if we needed too”. We’ve already been refingerprinted and done our homestudy update though (we moved).

Just something to think about…are you certain that you may use your fingerprints? In Wisconsin we had to refingerprint again when filing the I-600 even if fingerprints were kept current…this takes 4 extra weeks here! But, every substation seems to be different. Just food for thought.

summerbaby89 - we’re LID 3/13/06 so we’re hoping for a huge month as well as we’re into 14.5 months since application date which is when I started counting my waiting days - our agency told us we should have our daughter home 1 yr from application date, which was true THEN. Now it’s more realistic to say 24-26 months from application date, and my fear is that it’s really going to end up being longer….

Hey, does anyone know what the messages on the CCAA website dated 11/21/06 say?
November 27th, 2006 at 11:22 pm
If you cut and paste the Mandarin into a word doc and click Research, it translates that the vice minister traveled to Guandong to ‘adopt’ the new registration office.
November 27th, 2006 at 11:23 pm
I figured it was something like that.
November 27th, 2006 at 11:24 pm
Come on referrals! We thought we were LID September 3, 2005 and we were just advised that CCAA made a mistake — our LID is actually September 13, 2005! So we may not get out referral this time! Please, please, please foward a big batch of referrals!!!!

Thanks jksweber. And everyone else posting such positive thoughts.

journey to maggie/jksweber, WHOA! are you telling me that your agency just notified you, like right before the batch of referrals was due, to notify you of your new LID? did you expect it? what were the circumstances around it?? i’m just baffled!!! need info if you can provide it!!!! wow!!!!
November 27th, 2006 at 11:34 pm
waving in the Midwest!
It’s going to be a long night. I’m watching “Jesus Christ Superstar” while constantly refreshing the CCAA site.
November 27th, 2006 at 11:34 pm
jksweber - are you in Canada? What agency? My agency told me just this week (as we sit here expecting our referral) that CCAA made a mistake… and to not expect our referral this week. Too bad they did not pick up on this error sooner…. we would not have gotten our hopes up for a referral before Xmas!
November 27th, 2006 at 11:39 pm
jmlance - yup, our agency just notified us right before the referrals are due. We were DEFINITELY not expecting it. As a matter of fact, I already hired my replacement at work (who obviously has started too early) and now I have to make different arrangements for someone to take care of my daughter, as our travel will be later than anticipated. We were absolutely confident that we were getting a referral this week. This has been a devestating week for us.
Our agency and our province simply said the CCAA made an error on the return paperwork. I find this hard to believe, don’t you?????
http://www.journeyformaggie.blogspot.com/
November 27th, 2006 at 11:39 pm
Journey, I’m so sorry. I remember when we were waiting for our first, the CCAA had been doing 2 months at a pop, which would have given us a December referral. But they only did one month that go ’round, and we got our referral in January.
It made for a hard Christmas, and I’m sorry you may have to wait for the next batch.
November 27th, 2006 at 11:40 pm
jksweber — what reason did your agency give you regarding the LID change????
http://www.journeyformaggie.blogspot.com/

Journey to Maggie, I noticed on your blog that you guys were DTC on 8/23/05 with a (now) LID of 9/13/05. We were DTC on 8/24 with a 9/29 LID. What do you think is going on? And how in the world did they just now discover your “new” LID? i mean, really?? did they flip to a piece of paper and put their glasses on for the first time?? what in tarnation is going on? (seen too many episodes of Bugs Bunny lately, can you tell?) ha
i’m just reeling at the walls for you right now…. oh i would be SO flustered… wonder if anyone has received the opposite news though…such as, “oh, oopsy, we made a mistake, your LID isn’t 9/29 but rather 9/2!” oh, dare i dream????
November 27th, 2006 at 11:46 pm
We’re not in Canada…
Our agency told us many months ago that our entire group was switched with the group after us due to an error at CCAA. As a result, the group logged in on 9/5 got our 8/25 date and rec’d referrals Nov. 3, we’re still waiting.
November 27th, 2006 at 11:48 pm
jmlance-your prediction was correct, the group did get referrals earlier than originally anticipated. It must have felt like winning the lottery!

I really have no problem with the later LID… my problem is that they should have told us before now.

oh my gosh… ever so slightly… yeh! that’s the only way i can explain the feeling of receiving a referral to friends/family…i will feel like i won the lottery!!! along with about 1,000 other people!!! :-) i can’t imagine how angry and disappointed you felt though when you found out that nothing on your end was wrong but something they did with your paperwork was wrong and thus caused you a delay by at least a month….. still wondering how in the world does a LID get lost in “translation”/communication? or what causes CCAA to change it suddenly? just wondering since we were DTC on 8/24 and LID 9/29…. if nothing else, we feel like we were cheated out of an earlier LID - not wanting to take anyone’s place though, believe me…especially this close to receiving the referral, but if my agency called me tomorrow to tell me that my LID is really 10/29 I would be flaming…. and then compose myself enough to call someone until i got an answer… or at least a humongous apology…. and then i would HIT my pillow!!! ahhh!!! C’mon CCAA! we need some serious miracles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mom2isabel — I’m so sorry to hear about your LID mess-up (mess-up is putting it lightly!) I’m wondering were you the only one in your DTC / and / or LID group @ your agency that this happend to??? We were also one of those groups last year that only took about 11 days from DTC to LID — and I’ve been following these stories all along wondering if this could happen to more people?!?!?!
November 27th, 2006 at 11:59 pm
I’ve got enough to worry about without wondering what CCAA is doing. Instead I just put on a smile, go days without sleep, and after a few days I have a huge, raging migraine. All in all, internalizing everything seems to be a very healthy way of dealing with the wait! LOL

Journey to Maggie,
Yeh, I guess you guys sorta hit the jackpot with the immediate log-in date but suddenly it was jerked out from under your feet… so not right. I am soooooo hatin’ it for you guys tonight! That really really hurts! Just makes me wonder if something is going to happen with our LID though… with such a late LID, wondering if those early LID’s (such as yours) will be given to us late LIDers… NOT saying I want this to happen to anyone at all, ever so slightly, but you’ve gotta wonder what in the world the CCAA is up to? and it’s obviously still going on since you were just informed!!! which also makes me think they are still in the matching process….. yes?
November 28th, 2006 at 12:03 am
Journey to Maggie-
So very sorry to hear about the news on your changed LID. How absolutely frustrating to receive this news the week before you thought you’d get your referral.
I am so very, very sorry for all of you.

“This means that there is a greater chance that your referral will arrive in January as opposed to December.”
Gee, that is such lousy news for you. I am so sorry you have had to go through this.
I may be reading too much into the quote above but it does say “there is a greater chance that your referral will arrive in January” I wouldn’t want to get your hopes up…but it seems that there may be a window of hope here.
Saying a prayer for you tonight.

OURBROOK, you mentioned that there is a new officer in the LA CIS office. I know the one that was there last Sept (when we got our 171H) was Juanita and she was really quick. We got our 171H in 29 days from the completed I600A. I hope the new officer is quick. Is there a quick way to do the referral becuase I am a 10-17-05 LID and I am thinking we may not be able to travel before the expiration in March. I think it expires March 15 or so. So if we get a big referral batch this time and there is a chance that I can get a referral in December, there is a really good chance that I will not have to renew the 171H. Not sure what to do now. THink I will sit back and relax and see what happened.
By the way, anyone remember the person with TATER who had a 10-24 LID that was told they would get their referral in Demember. Anyone remember that? I sure pray TATER knows something they aren’t saying.
Here’s hoping for AOS!!!!
