Hello Everyone,

Just want you to know that I did not intend to offend you by using the word 'juvenile' in my post this morning. I had a picture in my mind of teenage girls in a hallway surrounding the girl who was the outcast, letting her know what they think of her. I was called a Juvenile by one of my teachers in 5th grade, because we had launched a bit of a protest because our favorite teacher had left the school..by his own choice...yet we blamed the substitute teacher and made him pay a big price for being there. I was terribly offended by being called the name...but in using it here I meant it reminded me of how pre-teens treat one another when they form cliques and go out of their way to reject someone.

RQ, please forgive me for offending you with my post. It wasn't my intent, since I don't see this site as strictly a rumor clearinghouse, but a "Grand Central Station" of adoptive parents. It serves a much needed purpose for all of us who are waiting!

W8n4her - I know it must have been so hard to reach the point of making the decision you did. I felt very sad to read it. But thank you for sharing that info with us. I wish you both the very, very best.
Numbercruncher, I love your posts. And Rumorslave, you crack me up.

waiting4 sofi

this is our second time out and if 2fromchina is who i think she is, then it's her second time too. pixiepam is also a second timer.

you may want to check the forum part of the site (see list on upper right hand side) and scroll down to saint albans vermont to see what's up with USCIS here. i just refiled last week. (ours expires on 2/14/07)

Are all of you Vermonters first timers?
We just re-submitted our paperwork for the I-171 . Our agency told us that we would probably have ours expire while we were in China. Boy, does that stink.....more $. I guess if you start now, you'd have to plan on doing it twice, anyway.
We were hoping to be back before Chinese New Year with her.
But first things first........where are those referrals?

sodergal,

That's why getting twins is such a great thing. We had two sets of twins in our recent agencies referral group. It's two for the price of one!

Lilysmomtobe makes a good point. For those who are waiting for # one and had planned to complete their family with one or two more adoptions from China, this makes for a long haul. In MN you cannot submit another dossier until your last adoption has been completed for one year. For us we hoped this second child would be about 1 or 2 years younger then our first. It's looking more like a 4 year spread. Like they say; "The best laid plans...."
Michelle LID 4/06- Mom to three "old" kids and a 3 yr old China doll who's waiting for a little brother or sister.

Waiting4sofi, 2fromchina and vtmama --

another one from the Green Mountain State. We're in Chittenden County too. pixiepam, another VTer, is signed up in the forum.

w4s -- you must be nearly out of your skin with anticipation. did you have to redo your I-171H?

2fromchina -- are your real intials "MT" by any chance?

All - frankly, I never believed the AOS rumor, but I did allow myself the possible fantasy of having a very late December referral as a result (LID 10/27/05). my husband and I relished in this over the holiday, but I don't think he really believed it either. maybe that is why i'm not completely crushed. this too is still a rumor and despite some potential disappointment at such an "early" date, the game isn't over bacause the fat lady hasn't sung. mostly, i'm pulling for the referrals to get here in November.

Thank you to all of you who responded to my post, particularly JenniferG. I'm sure I will hang in there. I've gotten this far. We'll just all keep our fingers crossed for some positive signs.

When we started this whole process, we were told there was a 6-8 month wait from our LID. It's been 15 months since then, and we are getting near the end.....ours is coming in this one....LID 8-31-05. It's been such a long wait, but let me say that I know when I'm finally holding her, this will all be a faint memory, and it won't matter anymore. Have faith, and hang in there everyone. We were more than disappointed last month, thinking it would go through the end of August.... and it didn't.
Thank you RQ for giving us hope, even if we end up dissappointed.
