My inbox
In my inbox right now I have 14 people telling me that their agency says referrals have been mailed and 5 people telling me that their agency says referrals have absolutely not been mailed yet. I feel like I’m stuck in a cartoon and need to do the thing where I shake my head until my cheeks stretch out away from my face from the g-forces.
It appears that two agencies are saying they have not been mailed and at least four agencies are saying they have.
And the agency that normally gives Stork Alerts has been silent so far.
I am still stubbornly expecting to see phone calls start tomorrow.
And everyone, please keep emailing me information. I don’t care if I get it multiple times, that’s perfectly okay.

Bless your heart! If the rest of us are on a rollercoaster, Rumor Queen is on a very springy pogo stick.
November 29th, 2006 at 11:49 am
I keep checking my emails for a Stork Alert……..NOTHING!!
November 29th, 2006 at 11:51 am
In this case, let the majority rule! Dammit. I’m wondering whether at least some of the 5 agencies saying “referrals have not been mailed” simply didn’t want to bother to call the CCAA and ask. Or maybe they are simply of the lower-guanxi variety.
Brain can’t stop spinning. This rollercoaster isn’t going up or down, just sideways. Pass the dramamine, here’s hoping relief is imminent.
November 29th, 2006 at 11:55 am
RQ: I just received an email from my agency telling me they are sorry we did not get our referral this time. They said CCAA only matched up to 9-8-2005 this time. My LID is 9-16-05. My agency never gives out any information so I can say they are pretty reliable. They did not say if they were already in hand. “CONGRATS” to families that do receive their referrals. DW

Just curious — what are the next LIDs for the agency(ies) that usually send(s) Stork Alerts but so far has not?

Dove Wings,
Sorry, if this is true….. Do you know if your agency has a 9/9 LID?
November 29th, 2006 at 12:09 pm
DoveWings…
I guess I should have asked, does your agency have anything between 9/8 and 9/16? Hoping your agency is wrong, and that you can be surprised with the rest of us!!

Pam,
The only LID in September for the agency that sends Stork Alerts is September 12.

Pam,
I just looked and that agency should be receiving referrals for the rest of their August families (LID 8/30 & 8/31).

November 29th, 2006 at 12:23 pm
Our agency just contacted us via email and phone to advise us that we will be getting referral still hopefully by Friday. They said we will not get to travel until after CNY as there is not enough time to get all the paperwork completed.

My small mulit-country agency that only has one LID per month has said that we will definitely not be included in this batch (LID 9/15/05). They did say that those families with LID 8/25/05 who did not get their referral last month d/t having questions asked in r/v WILL get referrals with this batch. GREAT NEWS for those families that were missed.

November 29th, 2006 at 12:32 pm
I must have the same china-only agency as GinaH. I just checked our Web site, and it says the same thing–referrals have been mailed, but they don’t know the cut-off. With an LID of 9-29, I’m not hopeful for myself, but I do wish all of you early September folks LOTS of luck!!
November 29th, 2006 at 12:40 pm
Okay…I guess we can be pretty sure that the date is certainly before 9/15. YUCK. (except for those with LID before 9/14).
I think it will be either 9/8 or 9/9.
Either way I am disappointed…the AOS rumor had me doing the happy dance.
Now it is a slow country dance at best. Playing to the music of “I Keep Letting You Break My Heart Over and Over Again Each Month-When Am I Gonna Learn-You Ain’t Worried About Me.”
Or something like that…
Sigh….
November 29th, 2006 at 12:42 pm
I really don’t like that the “All of Sept” rumor is being met with the comment dovewings got, that seems they are only getting to the 9th, according to her agency.
Please don’t let this be true…I am really having a hard time with our late Dec LID. Will we EVER get closer??? Sorry to be
“Debbie Downer” I see her skit from Saturday night live and feel like I could do a pretty good impression right about now~
November 29th, 2006 at 12:44 pm
Our China-only U.S. agency (extremely conservative) has posted that referrals have been mailed. We may now consider this a fact! Based on this info, we should see a change in the CCAA site by tomorrow morning. best to all

your sit ups are what my DH would call rehab. He pokes fun at me when I make “refresh key rules” for myself. I’ve been painting the living room yesterday and today to keep my mind off the referrals. Helps for awhile and then I remember and have to run to the computer and see what’s up. What an addiction RQ is!

wearewaiting– I’m right there with you with a LID in the later part of December. While I am always thrilled for the families who get thier referrals each month– part of me always feels sad because it feels like so few referrals came.
I went through several months of feeling that with each passing month, I was moving further away from my referral instead of closer to it. Last month and this month I am feeling more neutral about the referrals and sorta like it is getting closer. We’ll see how this all pans out in the upcoming months.
My concern is that with September being a small month in terms of LIDs — and it sounds like the CCAA will not get that far into September– how many months is it going to take to get through October and November which are reportedly huge in terms of LIDs?
LID 12/20/05
November 29th, 2006 at 1:07 pm
So the reality for those of us who have LID dates a long ways off is that the WAIT time just increased as expected and that basically our WAIT time will continue to increase at the rate of 1 month for each month we wait.
Since the WAIT is now 14.76 months and will increase to 15.25 months with this referral batch based on a September 9th cutoff, a september 2006 lid like mine equals a wait of over 30 months–a lot can happen in 30 months.
Just think about it–how long have you lived in your current residence? How long have you been at your current job?
I don’t think China adoption would have worked for me if this was our first adoption. Even if it is 10K less than adopting a domestic baby, it is a long wait for people who presumably have wanted children already and have been unable to have them. Too bad my agency is Mainland China only since we just talked to someone who used an agency to adopt a baby from Taiwan and they waited 6 months.
I guess on the positive side you have more time to put the money together. Better hope Congress extends the adoption tax credit past 2010.

Calamity4e, the link has disappeared, but yesterday I clicked on the RQ’s current LID poll, and it didn’t look to me as though Sept. was all that light–I think there were something like 303 LIDs in Sept. as opposed to 360-something in October and slightly more in Nov. Don’t know whether this is much comfort, but at least if the CCAA doesn’t make it through the entire month we won’t have to view it as a huge slowdown because Sept. was incredibly light.
November 29th, 2006 at 1:15 pm
Could it be that “not been mailed” equates to haven’t heard anything? Since we don’t know a definite cut-off, I’m still hopeful for more of September! Can’t wait to see the announcements - tomorrow??

FOR OCT, NOV, DEC LID 05 WAITING PARENTS: this was posted by another person in the RQ forum (in a “Let’s Talk” thread), and you may have missed it, and it seems significant info:
“We recently received this statement (quoted below) in a letter from our small multi-country agency (that has been doing China IA for 10 years):
” ‘The current wait time from LID to referral is 15 months. Please keep in mind that over the years wait times for referrals have gone up and they have gone down. We do not expect to see improvement in wait times in the forseeable future in the China Program. We have confidence that China remains fully committed to the long term success of their International Adoption Program. We expect to see a reduction in wait times at some point in the future, but are unable to reliably say when this may happen.” [end of letter]
“The context of the above quote was as part of a letter providing parents with an update on their different active IA programs. My agency is very conservative and does not provide speculative information. The above applies only to NSN (they don’t have a SN program active in China). They never quote anything other then the current recorded wait time they are seeing for their clients referrals. They have always been very candid, honest, sincere, and compasionate about wait times with their clients.”
I don’t know how to link to the full post, just wanted to highlight that one sentence, from an AGENCY no less:
” We do not expect to see improvement in wait times in the forseeable future in the China Program.”
“We do not expect to see improvement in wait times in the forseeable future in the China Program.”

O.k., I think I’m losing it. Some of you are making it sound like you’ve read that the cut-off could be Sept 9, but I’ve only seen quotes from agencies stating Sept 7 and Sept 8 — only a GUESS from someone here that it would be Sept 8 or 9. I really WANT the cut-off to be at least as far as Sept 9, but has any agency indicated any cut-off beyond Sept 7 or 8?

I talked with my med/large china only agency yesterday, and they suggested that 9/12 (the only LID in Sept for our agency) would not be getting referrals tomorrow. I am LID 10/10/05, and I asked if there was still hope for me for a December referral or if it would be January… She said to be conservative, she would think Jan is more likely (but she did not entirely rule out Dec, nor did she even suggest February.) Then again, she’s been saying Dec or Jan to me since the summer……
With DD#1 we got caught in the quota and SARS. We got our referral in 15.5 months…. We thought that was a long time and would never happen twice…… Mid- January referral for DD#2 would put the timeframes exactly the same… kinda weird. (I won’t even mention the fact that we’ve done 4 I-171H’s for 2 children! aargh!… but, as so many people have said, it so ‘doesn’t matter’ in the grand scheme of things. It really ends up being nothing to wait, renew paperwork, agonize over everything, etc. once you get the child. You’d be suprised but, almost immediately you say ‘I’d do it all again tomorrow for another wonderful daughter!’

November 29th, 2006 at 1:54 pm
ladybugininebraska - I did a spreadsheet for my own sanity (LID 3/13/06) and calculated 14 days being processed for every month going forward. I did not use 1/2 months, but 14 days since that seems to be the average over the past few months. Using that calculation, my cut-off date this month was 9/9 and it appears it’s somewhat close. My next cut-off date in my spreadsheet is 9/24, so as of today, using that calculation, a LID of 11/18/05 would get referral between 4/27/07 - 5/01/07. Ours would then be coming in between 11/30/07 - 12/01/07. With that said, please, please remember that I only did this for my peace of mind and realistic expectations, but thought it might help?

waitingforsam:
I think most of us only know LIDs for our own agency. I have no idea which other agencies have which LIDs. That’s why I was asking someone (Luna) what LIDs their agency had when they said no Stork Alert had been issued by their agency yet.
It would be nice if RQ was given (by each of us) a list of the LIDs for each specific agency for the next 2-3 months so she could analyze the rumors, I guess, but I don’t think even she has all that data (yet!). Then when she gets rumors like “agency X says the cutoff is x/y”, she’d know if that was likely just THEIR last included LID or likely to be a real cut-off, e.g.

Just wanted to see what other late November LID’ers are predicting for referral times? Our LID is 11-30-05. The way things are going I’m thinking it’s gotta be an 18 month referral time for us.. or longer? I think I could handle the wait better if things were more predictable! I’m a teacher and a planner! We are waiting for our very FIRST child! Tomorrow is our 1 year LID anniversary! It’s so frustrating.. been at this for 19 months and still can’t even predict when we will get our daughter!

Having just received my LID(11/14/06), I’m new here but just thought I’d pass along what was stated in my LID packet from my agency.”Current wait times from LID to child match are 14 to 16 months”. That being said, I know I have a long way to go and obviously things change, but I really want all of you September 2005 LID families to receive the good news you are so hoping and praying for.

okay yeah i’m totally freaking out here. LOL my wife is buried in a project at work, but we’re going to be whooping it up this evening!
Autumn is at the WanZhou SWI so we fly into Chongqing on that Sunday (10th)…so I would imagine we get her on Monday the 11th. I’ll have to verify that when I chat some more with the agency later. but it’s amazing and my brain is in a whirlwind right now.
We’ll definitely try to keep things updated on our blog for everyone. :)
And for all those that will be at the WS during that time…Looking forward to meeting you all! :)

TG - take some advice from someone who has BTDT, get your airline tickets as soon as you possibly can. Even waiting a few hours can mean you either don’t get on a flight or that you pay a lot more for the flight. Once CA’s go out there are a lot of people competing for those flights.

Hi there,
I think November LID’s are looking at April-June referrals based on waiting for sam’s estimates. Seems pretty right to be if they keep referring up to 12-14 days of LID’s per month. So it is going to be an 18-20 month wait for us November LID’s, unless things dramatically change. A person can be surprised though-I was during the SARS crisis, so you never know…., but for now I am expecting a May-June 2007 referral. It seems better to expect something like this.
Congratulations to everyone who gets their referral this month.
So exciting!!!
November 29th, 2006 at 2:45 pm
Not hearing from my small multi-country agency has made me think that we are not getting a referral this time, so I just called them and asked if they get any notice before they receive referrals. They said they don’t know anything until they get the package w/ the referrals. So DH and I are really excited right now. Dovewing mentioned her agency says cutoff is 9-8-05. So, it’s possible we’re in there. We are on pins and needles right now! I hope it goes farther. Good luck to us all.

TG - HEED RQ’s Advice!!!!! On Monday, we thought we were leaving for Bejing on the 7th. I looked at flights and found rt Detroit-Beijing, Guangzhou-Detroit for 865!!!! That was on Northwest’s website… well, I’m getting ready to hold a flight, and wa-la, each flight went up 300 - due to the more holiday season of the week of return. Well, I’m finally booking today and they say, leave on Friday, return on Sat and my heart sunk! Lo and behold, I’m down $200 from Monday’s final quote…. Just get on it and tell the travel agency to hold you a good flight/price. If they can do better, fine, if not, well, you have your flights.

I just know the LID’s for my agency. I still think it’s possible that they may get further into September (A girl can hope, right?). Since we haven’t had a Stork Alert and I know they are expecting referrals for their August families, I think it’s still possible. At first I thought we haven’t had a Stork Alert because their next LID was 9/12……but that isn’t the case.

manda4lilly-
My LID packet from my agency says 6-7 months from DTC. On Monday it will be 13 months since we were DTC. Please take their estimates with a grain of salt. You are right that a lot can happen but since there is no credible evidence that anything is going to speed up, the Nov 05 LIDs are going to wait 17 to 22 months for their referrals. The only way your agency will be right is if the CCAA goes back to issuing whole months. Lets hope they do
November 29th, 2006 at 3:06 pm
I guess I will try this again, my first message didn’t post.
Mom2Iasbel, I sent you a message on your website address.

I’m crossing my fingers for all of you. Come on September!!!
Question: How many, I wonder, said on their homestudy that they drank only occasionally? If they had to answer that question today, would the answer be the same? I opened a nice shiraz last night since the wait is driving me nuts, and my LID is 6/5/06!!!! I don’t know if I can get to my referral date without joinging alanon (just kidding)
Bless the babies and those in waiting. Good luck to you all.

Bobbie - I’m with you! I was totally “cocktailed” every night during those vigils wasiting for referrals!

I’m going to say something that might seem alittle weird at first….but, here goes:
In all the excitement and craziness of finding out that we’re leaving next week..and it seems like alot of us are leaving very soon if not next week; I’d like to say that I think the most exciting and most important thing going on that we should all share in is the pending referrals. To me, all of you who will be getting referrals any time now are the focal point. As will the following group next month, and so on. As amazing as it will be to fly over and meet and hold our daughter…and bring her home, there is nothing that could compare to finally seeing those photos of your child after enduring the wait and all it’s ups and downs. I look forward to having the opportunity in seeing all those adorable pics and rejoicing in the moment you all will share. :)

Sorry I didn’t answer sooner. I had to leave to take dd#1 to school, then chores came, etc. Anyway to answer your question.
My agency has about 3 LID for 9-2-2005 and about 5-7 for 9-16-05 to my knowledge they do not have any LIDS in between. Ofcourse, you have to remember, so peoples choice was not to post LIDS on our site. DW

Come on Stork!
November 29th, 2006 at 3:33 pm
Thanks for your words TG from a soon-to-be mom who is so nervous that I am trying to hold down my lunch! I got about 2 hours of sleep last night and here I sit at work not working with my dark circles. The thought of seeing my babies face any day now is making me crazy with excitement. I just want to scream it to the world.
November 29th, 2006 at 3:38 pm
When do you other fellow 12/05 LIDer’s think we will get our referrals. We are 12/20/05. Sept 7 or 8 being the cut off this time is very discouraging news. I was so happy to hear the good rumour, but now I am crushed again.
I personally don’t think we will get our referal until very late summer or fall of ‘07. I was so hoping for spring travel.
I am at my wits end. THis means another home study update. We have to renew our prints, which expire 12/28 - I don’t even have the optimism to renew these.
But congrats to those who get referrals this time.

TG,
That was a very selfless post (smile - that’s a good thing in case someone reads that line too quickly) You are very kind to think about your fellow RQers at at time when you are in a whirlwind of excitement about your own trip!
You are in good hands with your agency’s travel agent (we are with the same agency). We didn’t have to think about a thing with our first adoption. This time around, I might like to check out the Premium Economy class since I have a degree of confidence having traveled to China once.
Can’t wait to hear about your trip and can’t wait to see our newest batch of referrals!

I guess I just have to realise we will not be in this batch, with a 14 Sept lid.
Suppose a lot of you will stay up for a cyber party tonight? Here in Europe it’s about bedtime soon, but I will join you when I wake up tomorrow morning. Hopefully we know the cut-off by then.
Congrats to all of you who will recieve the refferals within the next few days. And, the next time, it’s our turn!

TG -
What a beautiful post - lots of tears & smiles at the same time. Thank you for thinking of all of us that are waiting and please stop by and say hi - I’ll be following your journey - congrats on your quick travel.
Wait4hannah -
As a fellow December LIDer my true guess at this moment is May - August 2007 for December LIDs - again, just my guess. When the rumors of most of September started flying I thought it would be sooner but now I’m back to a more realistic time line. I just don’t know what to think anymore - I was really hoping that we would get further into September -it just seems that each month we take one step forward and one step backward. I think I will feel like we are getting closer when we start to make the RQ boards - it will be like another milestone in the waiting process!! Not looking forward to renewing all the paperwork - our fingerprints expire 12/1 and USCIS expires 4/20 … and our USCIS office is run by a group of snails, slugs and sloths (the slowest creatures on the planet) Take Care!
November 29th, 2006 at 3:58 pm
To all awaiting referrals(and my friend Donna!!), this must be SUCH an exciting time!!! I don’t know what I’ll be like when it’s “my turn”, but seeing referrals every month is a good thing, that things are still progressing in China.
But, we all wish for a speed-up.
It’s the Christmas season, and I BELIEVE!!!!!
November 29th, 2006 at 3:59 pm
Hi Bobbie and Mlschot–my LID is also 6-5-06! Haven’t run across anyone else with the same date until getting to this site. I live in North Florida. We probably are using the same agency. Hard to really get my brain around 20 month wait. The dirty martini idea is great–but get your fill of them for the next “20″ months….

Tvanhyfte, I also have an 11/30 LID—gads, tomorrow we’ll have to start writing 11/30/05. At this point I’m thinking May is our “best-case scenario,” more likely it will be a month or two later, assuming things continue as they have been with referrals. I can remember when the thought of a May referral really bummed me out, now I’m getting used to the idea. What would really help is just to KNOW when it will be so some planning would be possible.
Just have to say CONGRATULATIONS to TG, Happy Hour and all of those who are leaving to meet their daughters soon. By tomorrow, hope to be congratulating those with new referrals.
November 29th, 2006 at 4:31 pm
I am another December LID (12/14/05). I would love it to be sooner, as would everyone I’m sure, but I agree with the May through August timeline.
tgredthread,
Thanks for the very nice post. Have a great time in Chongqing. Our DD is from a SWI in that municipality.
November 29th, 2006 at 4:34 pm
I’m 11/30 too, and I still cry thinking about how much longer we have to wait. The idea of it being next fall before we travel is well, horrifying.
At that point, I’ll be 43, my daughter will be 4, and the gap between the kids will be much greater than I had hoped for, unless the CCAA honors our request for a 2 year old.
But, enough whining from me today. today it’s all about those waiting for referrals this week, and those traveling soon!
November 29th, 2006 at 4:41 pm
GleasonBaby-
We picked up ours yesterday, painted the trim today and hung A-N-N-A on the wall today. For some reason, hanging her name on the wall made it seem more real! My DD and DH laughed at that as we have been slowly working on the nursery for months, but hanging her name really hit me. Still hoping for AOS, but realistically expecting earlier in the month. I’d be disappointed if it is before the 15th tho’.

DragonMom - we were told by our agency, when I had just turned 42, that we would have our daughter home 1 yr from application date (which was true then on 9/22/05) In all reality, with a 3/13/06 LID, we won’t have her home until 05/08 and I’ll be 44 1/2 and my son will be 12 1/2!!!! Two and one-half years is quite a stretch from 1 year….
November 29th, 2006 at 4:52 pm
I was Christmas shopping today and picked up a copy of Third Day’s album Christmas Offerings because so many people have mentioned the last song “Merry Christmas” For those of you who haven’t heard it’s a song about a family waiting for a little person in China. Anyway I put it in right away in the car and their my mom and I sit crying at a stop light :) Then I get home and of course I check out RQ, and TG, your comment has the tears starting again. :) Thank you for your support for those of us still waiting. At least our animal babies keep us active and busy.

Another Dec LID 12/14/05. I am trying really hard to have a positive outlook on our wait, but this is so unbelieveably hard! I was Christmas shopping and I feel so sad for all those babies that are just waiting for all of us to get to them. We could shower them with love, affection, attention and gifts. But I couldn’t bring myself to buy anything for her today. I have no idea what season we will be in at this point. I couldn’t bring myself to buy a “baby’s first X-mas” because just looking at it alone of the tree would be to sad. I will be on geritol and premenapause pills at the same time I will be giving my baby vitamins. Good thing you can adopt up until 50, bacause at the rate it’s going……I just may be there.
November 29th, 2006 at 6:00 pm
I’m confused, maybe it’s because I read bottom to top too… Why was DragonMom banned? Was it her bad Sears joke or the fact that she thinks that her 11/30 LID may not travel until - next fall?
Was she just kidding?

Ok, I am freaking just a little. I know it probably doesn’t mean anything. I just got an email notice for my pre-placement package. It wants phone contacts and warns to let them know if we will not be reachable between now and referrel. Is this normal? Our agency is the large China-only in the snow-capped state.
I know I shouldn’t take it as a sign of a quick referrel but…

Dragonmom was not banned. She has been placed on “Can’t Post” status in the forum because she insisted on continuing a conversation about flammable politics after I asked that people stop talking about it. As per the forum rules she can email me in a week and I will remove the restriction.
We are not here to talk about politics (other than what needs to be talked about for adoption purposes), just as we are not here to talk about religion. We are all joined by the common thread of adoption. Talking about divisive subjects can serve no constructive purpose in this type of forum. It only serves to divide us. None of you need to know whether I am Democrat or Republican or Centrist or how I voted in the last election and I don’t need to know that information about you, either. We aren’t here to talk about that, we are here to talk about adoption.

A blonde joke-TG you made me think of this with your blonde joke.
A guy took his blonde girlfriend to her first football game. They had seats right behind their team’s bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience.
“Oh, I really liked it,” she replied, “especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn’t understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents.”
Dumbfounded, he asked, “What do you mean?”
“Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was: ‘Get the quarterback! Get the quarterback!’ I’m like… Helloooooo? It’s only 25 cents!!!!”
This is one of my favorite jokes!!!
November 29th, 2006 at 7:14 pm
beatr1ce,
“between now and referral” I think means from the time I fill out the contact information to whenever we get referred.
I really don’t think this means I will be referred this time. I was just wondering when other people from this agency received this packet.

Q: When will those referrals get here and what’s the real cut-off?
…Anyone? CCAA? Hopeful for some happy parents tomorrow!
Totally OT - Anyone heard the Dixie Chicks song, Lullaby? Sigh. So pretty. I’m not normally sappy, but this one hit me a bit…
They didn’t have you where I come from
Never knew the best was yet to come
Life began when I saw your face

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I’m never, never giving you up…

Long time lurker - first time poster. With my one year anniversary of my LID tomorrow (11/30) I must say that this site has been a source of comfort in such a state of chaos. I stay very busy with my two little boys but obsessively check this site for the latest and greatest news. Thanks RQ for all you do!
And mcclark35- we also are planning ANNA on our wall too. Have the beautiful letters to hang and I know that it will make it all that much real.
So no longer plan to lurk - this community is so supportive I am looking forward to chatting with you all. And to those September LID’s - my heart goes out to you as I can imagine that you are all on pins and needles!

There were 3 bulls in a barnyard and they overheard the farmer telling a neighbour he was getting another bull.
The oldest bull said to the other two, “Well, I’ve been here the longest and I’ve earned my herd of 50 cows, I ain’t sharing with the new guy!”
The second oldest bull said, “Me neither, my 25 cows are mine and I’m not gonna let some new guy come in and take any of mine!”
The youngest bull puffed out his chest and said, “Yeah, well all I’ve got is 10 cows. I can’t afford to give any of ‘em up!”
Lo and behold a great, big tri-axle cattle truck pulled into the yard. It was sagging in the middle and the sides were bulging. The farmer lowered the ramp and out swaggered a whopping 3000 lb. holstein bull.
The oldest bull said, “Well, I guess he can have 20 of mine.”
The middle bull said, “I s’pose I don’t see no harm in given him 10 of mine.”
The youngest bull took one look at the big brute and started snorting, shaking his head, and pawing at the ground.
The two older bulls said, “Don’t do it sonny, it ain’t worth it. You can’t beat him no how.”
To which the younger bull replied, “Beat him? I ain’t plann’n on beat’n him. I just wanna make sure he knows I ain’t no cow!!!”

To all of you who are in September–good luck. Praying right along with you….

Regarding Emily’s post…I think I’m with the same agency. They usually ask for that the month prior to referral. Back in the day (meaning 2003-2004) it would have been when you were “next” but I suppose now it just means “you’re coming up in the foreseeable future” *sigh*.
Either way that feels like such a big step…I can’t wait to fill that form out again!

My husband’s favorite (don’t ask me why):
Why did the plane crash?
Because the pilot was a loaf of bread.

I love this group! ((Group cyber hug!!))
November 29th, 2006 at 8:45 pm
Emily B. We are with the same agency and also 9/29/05. My husband just forwarded the email to me. I really doubt the AOS (although I’d love it), but maybe they know the cut off date is late enough that we will be next? We can hope anyway!
November 29th, 2006 at 8:48 pm
Maylid - I don’t get it….what am I not seeing…
November 29th, 2006 at 8:49 pm
debandbobby,
I agree. I guess I got everyone excited for no reason. I really just wanted to see if others were getting the same email.
It is actually even exciting that i may be within a month or 2. This has been so a long, long wait. Any sign is exciting to me at this moment.

The CCAA site is down. Crossing fingers for a refresh of AOS or atleast the 12th!
Best to all soon to be parents,

National Geographic Kids has a great article on Panda Bears in their December issue.
These are the jokes in the back of the mag.
What do you call a Polar Bear wearing earmuffs?
Whatever you want… they can’t hear you!
What song do monkeys sing during the holidays?
Jungle Bells!
What do snowmen eat for breakfast?
Frosted Flakes!
I know not great! I think Boys Life has racier ones!

Thanks-

haha, that’s why he likes it–he thinks it’s funny because it’s so flippin’ stupid!!!
More pirate jokes: Did you hear about the pirate movie? It’s rated “arrr”!
More monkey jokes
Why did the second monkey fall out of the tree? He was stapled to the first monkey (see earlier post on dead monkey).
Why did the third monkey fall out of the tree? He thought it was a trend.
Why did the elephant die? He got hit in the head by three falling monkeys.

SPECIAL NEEDS REFERRAL
Hi,
I know everyone is here waiting on referral confirmation, so I am asking to take advantage of the tremendous RQ following. We are here to get rumors, I know. I am not trying to delay any rumors, but I have request.
My agency contacted me today. They received 11 special needs referrals. However, they had only requested 10. The 11th referral is one we are very seriously considering. DH and I have talked about switching to SN for a long time. This SN is cleft lip/palate degree 3.
RQ followers, if you or someone you know has experience that I should know about, please email me carolionking@yahoo.com.
Thank you and all my prayers are with Sept LID families.

maylid,
the monkey jokes…too funny!
This is a joke that was told at church the other day.
A preacher asked a little boy who the mother of Jesus was. The little boy replied “Mary”. So the preacher asked the little boy who Jesus’ father was. The little boy replied “Verg”. The preacher asked “Verg?” The little boy said ” Yes. Verg and Mary.”

Brunette and Blonde are watching the 6pm news on TV. There’s a story and footage of a guy who’s threatening to jump off a building. The brunette turns to the blonde and says “I bet you $100 that he jumps.” The blonde says “you’re on”. about 5 minutes later the guy jumps off the building and falls to his apparent death. The blonde shrugs and turns to the brunette and goes “well, darn. I guess I owe you $100.” The brunette laughs and says…”you know, it’s not fair of me, I saw this already on the 5pm news.”
the blonde says, “oh I know, me too…but I didn’t think he’d do it again!”

momto4hopefully- ROTFL
I loved that joke!
November 29th, 2006 at 10:56 pm
vtmama, I found that Dixie Chicks song (Lullaby) several months ago and fell in love with it! I’ve asked our friend to include it in our family/adoption video.
I may be mistaken, but I think I first heard it on a tv show (either Medium or Greys Anatomy?) and I went to itunes searching for that song. It does take you in, . . .
November 29th, 2006 at 11:02 pm
BTW, we had an Autumn Update this evening. She still has ‘that look’. hehe :) I posted to our blog and website if anyone gets curious.
November 29th, 2006 at 11:18 pm
mylia - big gap since I last posted. APC is a list Adoptive Parents China. It’s the biggest list and is full of great information as well as pompous arses!!! LOL! There is a wealth of information, but if someone posts a not so popular opinion, everyone flames. Sometimes, it’s downright hilarious! (and MEAN!)tho, when I read much of it, I get irritated by people telling me how to raise my daughter, bla bla bla. It’s rather funny though, it seems when people are more stressed and attacking, referrals seem to come!
November 29th, 2006 at 11:28 pm
TO: I LOVE LUCY: My agency is a very, very reliable one, they do not let out information unless it is on the up and up……so I would say it is very good. If they miss this one I will be very, very surprised and if it goes longer than the 8th I will also be very, very HAPPY. Guess we will know soon. DW

sewhopeful22 - Bring On Boy’s Life LOL!
Good night all, I need to get some sleep and fight off all the bugs passing through our family so we’re healthy to travel. Sweet dreams and hoping to see new baby faces tomorrow!

As a late Dec LID’er (12/27) I don’t expect our referral until June or July. Just a hunch. I have thought this since late spring, early summer. I am soooooooooo bummed out again. This wait is aweful, especially knowing we have another few months to go. Blah!
