Notes from the day
At least one group of people who were skipped last month do not have anything this month, either. Most do seem to have a referral this month, though.
Several people with LID’s between 8/26 and 9/8 who were questioned in the review room did get their referral this time.
UPDATE: Some who were questioned in the review room and who should have been in this batch do not have a referral.
There are several people who were not questioned in the review room who have a LID between 8/26 and 9/8 who do not have a referral.
There are also some issues with TA’s. At least two agencies received TA’s for some but not all people in a travel group. There is also an agency telling their 11/2 referral people that their TA’s are still possibly a couple of weeks away.
Now, as to the down time on the server. The server had no problems dealing with the heavy load, that wasn’t the problem. There was a hardware issue that I’m told has been fixed. To their credit they have acted quickly to solve the problem, but it’s still been pretty frustrating.

RQ,
For the people who did not recieve a referral last month or this time around, have they discussed the situation with their agency? If so, what seems to be the problem. I’m also wondering if these are people from one agency or several different ones.

our thoughts are with those that were skipped again this month…how utterly tragic! uggh.

Typically when there is a problem you won’t get an answer until the next day - the agency asks the CCAA that night (when they are open) and gives the answer the next day.

Now you have me worried! What do you mean skipped. We don’t have referral yet but still expecting it tomorrow.

I was being to enjoy that relaxed, happy feeling of “knowing you’re next”. We were not asked any questions in r/v but I guess you just don’t know ’til you’re looking at the picture.
Wow.

newfiedeb - have you had any conversations with your agency as to whether or not your’s was received by them?

We are one of the families that didn’t get our TA. Eleven families in our travel group were not sent. 53 families were! How does CCAA just leave the last 11 families out?? It is just so frustrating.
November 30th, 2006 at 10:06 pm
Our agency hasn’t received the package yet. Is it possible we won’t be included. I now have this overwhelming fear of not receiving referral now.
Someobody please help me out on what has happened.

Newfiedeb,
I am hoping you receive wonderful news tomorrow. Please keep us updated.
I’m not sure if this applies to your situation but we are with a small multi-country agency and have been told that when our time comes we may receive referrals a few days after the bigger agencies. I’m not sure why that is (translation time, transportation time, or exactly what).
Take care,
TJ

RQ, was it common/usual/not infrequent for some in a LID range to not receive referrals with the rest of their group? Is this a new phenomenom? I don’t remember hearing about this issue in the past.

I feel your fear however it sometimes happens that Canadian agencies recieve there packages one or two days after the US. It happened to us in 2005 and it also can make a difference if your referral needs to go to your province instead of your agency.
I hope you hear something on Friday My thought are with you

We received our TA today!
We will leave on Dec. 12th (tentative)
So much to do, so much to be thankful for.
Bitter Sweet. Some families in our agency did not receive their TA’s. We have become so close and now will not be able to travel together. It’s hard to be excited when others are hurting. MANY do not have their new I-171’s and will be delayed travel due to this.
It’s been a long hard journey…

That is too weird about the TAs. As far as I can tell from our large agency’s Yahoo group everyone has their TA and CA from Nov. 2nd group. What in the world is going on over there????
I also can’t believe that people were missed again in referrals-seems like something isn’t working correctly…
I am so excited for the new referrals and am thinking of those of you who just missed it or were skipped or who are still waiting on TA.
We will be in Guangzhou from the 10th to the 22nd. Hope I get to meet some of you there!!

I’ll let you know if we hear today!!! Jeannine LID 9/2 Thinking of everyone!

There were a few of us skipped in our agencies TAs. The other families went on and went. When we finally got TAs we left in a week- so we really only ended up being in China a week later than the other families from our agency. We just had to scramble to make flight plans and were way stressed out for a few days! But it all worked out. I feel for you- I know exactly what that feels like. It will be OK.
Love,
Mary

We didn’t get a referral. Our Agency called us. We were reviewed with a question in July, so after our review period. I hope they didn’t put us in the november-december 2005 pile (what was on review that time).
Our agency is goiing to contact the CCAA and ask if they can’t send the referral next week, it is the first time it happens they said.
RQ, I’m the one who sended an email also (didn’t discover this yet)

Oh my gosh.
Everyone has been through so much with this wait. Those that are now in uncertian limbo about their referrals and TA’s, this just seems like a bit too much to bear.
I hope you can feel the care and concern and thoughts and prayers that are with you. Small comfort though….
It does seem that people who are being missed or delayed get there referrals TA’s not too, too long after they expected.
I’m not sure that the fear that people who get missed because of having questions asked in r/v get put back months is coming true. Maybe delayed by just one batch.

The 9/8 LID group referrals from my small China only agency did not show up and agency was told package was not expected for them? - We were expecting 11 Referrals for this month. Director is trying to find out what’s going on

oh, my LID is not til 2/28/06 but my heart goes out to my agency’s parents-to-be who thought they were part of this month
December 1st, 2006 at 10:26 am
How can it be ??
….that people get questions after their LID “period” was already reviewed. Does this happen often ?
Seems like one can not relax even after the month where our LIDs are included are through the review room…

They skipped people who DIDN’T get questions asked in the review room?!?! Jumping ladybugs, what the &*%#* is going on over there? It’s enough to make a person flip their LID! ;) Not a laughing matter at all. So much for this being predictable process, grumble grumble. My sincere condolences to everyone who has not received an expected referral this month.

Just received notice that we have our TAs… Tentatively, we will be leaving on December 14th. We are so excited and hopeful to be leaving in the next few weeks!
CONGRATS TO ALL THE NEW FAMILIES!
….and a very heartfelt HUG to those who did not receive their referrals.

update - our small, china only agency just got their referrals - they panicked because they hadn’t received them when others had but people are getting calls now :)

Hi RQ,
Can you clarify the statement below? ARe you saying that most who were skipped got a referral this month but some who were skipped did not?
“At least one group of people who were skipped last month do not have anything this month, either. Most do seem to have a referral this month, though.”
Also, did we hear back from NefieDeb? I am sending positive thoughts and crossing everything for her.
December 1st, 2006 at 2:14 pm
yes momwannabe - most where were skipped last month seem to have received one this month. But there are some who were skipped who still do not.
December 1st, 2006 at 2:22 pm
lojeslj,
You asked if this has been done before…
My group, with a LID of 5/19/05 were skipped (way back in April of this year) with other groups with the same LID. It was due to particulars of the request of one family in the group (no blame assigned) and CCAA held up the entire group. We were matched the next month, with the following LID group. At the time, we had not heard of any other groups that were skipped. My heart goes out to those who expected the referral and didn’t receive it… I know exactly how it feels. Congratulations to all who did receive referral… your children are beautiful.

Thank you all for the kind words, we feel a bit better now, we realize that we have to look for some more courage and be patient, what a terrible word. For all people in the same situation: don’t give up your courage, that special child is waiting for you, and I know once we see the picture we know it was worth waiting. Hugs to all.
Sorry I forgot, but off course I wish the ones who got their referral a phantastic time and a lot of joy.
It seems we are the only ones who got a review after the review period. I don’t know why. It was a question about my profession, I work with horses and we collected all papers necessary. Then after almost a year in July 2005 the CCAA wanted to have a specific proof that this was what I was doiing. Nobody seemed to know what they meant, and I asked an official paper from the Ministry (first time they did this for an adoption) and that seemed OK. Perhaps it was because they are not familiar with horses, we will never know.

Heidi Europe,
I am so sorry to read your post. In the midts of so much joy for the parents receiving referrals, it is hard for the ones who have to do a little more waiting. A quote from Mother Theresa says, “Let nothing perturb you, nothing frighten you. All things pass. Patience achieves everything”.
I have such a long way to go, so for now I rejoice with everyone seeing their babies today, and hope for the rest of us, a peaceful journey until our babies come home.

We were LID 8/23/05 and were skipped last month. We did not get questioned in the review room. We did, however, receive our referral yesterday!! We have an 8 month old baby girl who looks like me! Go figure! I thought I would never stop crying last month, but now that painful time is fading away. We can’t wait to travel so that we can hold our beautiful daughter! I guess everything happens for a reason?
