Congratulations to everyone, who made it this time - and I am sooooo looking forward to seeing all our wonderful babies! (and I am desperate for details and PHOTOS - assuming we’re not bumped for some reason or other, I need to make a blog. OMG!!!! (tall blond person doing cartwheels down the hallway - dogs don’t know what to make of it)
Some of my Sept friend missed the cut, but they’re pretty confident of being next now, so they’re telling me the ‘calm before their storm’ has settled in. I do wish you all could have been squeezed in somehow - I guess its just the CCAA way. Oh, and its only 9:07pm on Thursday night here. I am going to be a mess for the next week!

It’s weird, but I dreamed the cutoff date last night! Before I went to bed, I checked but there was no change. When I woke up this morning, I remembered seeing it as the 8th! Imagine my shock when I saw it for real this morning!
Although I wish they had gone further, I am very excited for all of you who are about to see your children for the first time. Please be sure to post when you have pictures and info!

Congrats to all with LIDs up to 9/8 — and BUMMER for those of us with 9/9 or so.
Oh well, in many ways the next batch (and not travelling until late Feb or early March, whenever CNY holidays are over) will be less stressful because of some job issues. But I still can’t help being disappointed.
But at least with a 9/9 LID, I absolutely KNOW, without a fathom of a doubt, we’re NEXT. Now it’s just a question of when that might be. :-)
Again, congrats to those through 9/8 LIDs — can’t wait to see those babies (i.e. post your photos ASAP, please!).

Congratulations to those receiving their referrals. I know first hand the excitement you are feeling.
Well, the last three batches of referrals have contained 18, 16 and 14 LIDs, respectively. This doesn’t seem to be heading in a positive direction. We’re LID 11/13/06 and I don’t want to think that our wait will be upwards of two years. Of course, when we logged in in May 2003, the wait was over a year and ended up being nine months for us, so who knows what will happen?

As someone who just missed the cutoff last month let me share two things:
1) the month flies by in an instant and..
2) There is such a sense of peace KNOWING that you are definitely next.
As for me, I think the deep freeze is starting to melt with these hot tears running down my face. I am a mess. How the heck am I going to teach a bunch of pubescent, hormonal teenagers this morning?
I can’t believe that i am going to see her face tomorrow.

Thank you so much for this site! I checked in with my agency yesterday to let them know how I could be reached for the next few days. They had no knowledge of impending referral arrivals and my social worker was planning to be out for a few days, but are now on the lookout and have set up coverage just in case. I’d be out of reach and my referral would be sitting in someone’s darkened cubicle until next week if I hadn’t had this warning!
I’m torn: thrilled for all of us who’ve made this batch and very sad that they didn’t go for all of September as we’d hoped. Congratulations to those who are about to see those little faces, and all the patience in the world to those waiting.

To those who just missed the cut off date by a day or so like I did (missed it by one day last month), the time does go by fairly quickly. The holidays will help in that regard, just because there is so much going on this time of year. Also Laureeen is right, there is a peace in knowing that you are definitely next.

Tears of joy are running down my face. I am so thankful for this web site and to know that others are feeling all I am feeling. The thought of finally seeing my daughter’s face after two years of dreaming of her is overwhelming. My sister quoted a favorite line from a poem that describes it exactly:

We are in this time. Our LID is 30 Aug 05. We are very excited and can’t wait to get the call. We want to see our little one. To those still waiting, just be patient. It seems to take forever but it will finally come. We thought we would be done with this last year and since then, I have deployed to Afghanistan and came back. LOTS has happened since then but our day is finally here. Good luck to those of you who are close.

And for the rest of us…we can pretty much figure two months for every month we are behind September. Which for April 2006 DTC is another 16 months!!! For a grand total of 2 years wait.
For every one after April 2006 the wait is longer every month since each month takes two months to get through.
