Merry Christmas

To everyone who is celebrating today, Merry Christmas.

On this Christmas Morning I feel so blessed to have the family that I have. And my heart is breaking for the daughter that is not yet with us, but is somewhere in China. Unless she is in foster care there will be no presents for her, but I hope she is warm and has enough to eat.

    Merry Christmas all!

I’m so sorry there were no referrals this week, what a wonderful Christmas that would have been for all those families who are eagerly anticipating it.

For those who are waiting, take joy in those you have to share the day with…savor every moment, they go by so quickly!

(It’s 8:45 am on Christmas morning, but all four kids are still sleeping…that’s kind of weird around here.)

Sorry I put in the wrong LID date, we are DTC 5/26/06 and LID 5/30/06. Maybe some Christmas induced brain cramp.

    Merry Christmas to All!

In anticipation of our daughter’s arrival this Christmas, my cousin knitted a stocking for her ~ last Christmas. It has the Chinese symbol for love on the front and she wove a red thread through the top. It is hanging up with my husband’s, son’s and my stocking. When we were opening presents this morning, it was bittersweet but a wonderful reminder of what is to come.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

allow me to echo the sentiments here…

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays/New Year to everyone. Our Christmas is alittle brighter because we were able to find a flight from LAX back home here in Denver yesterday (Sunday) morning when there were certainly almost no flights available. I hope our fellow Coloradoans were able to get home safely as well.
It is nice to be back home and even nicer having our dear Autumn Rose here with us. While we have uncertainty ahead of us over the next few days with all three of us recovering and adjusting, we know that we’re a family and this, my friends, is the meaning of the holidays. Family and being able to share and spend time with those you love and hold dear.

For all of you still waiting, especially those about to receive referral, I’m sorry that it didn’t come by today, but know that regardless of when it comes, it is the best gift and the most amazing moment in your lives. Our hopes and wishes of good fortune to everyone.

    T & G

  16. Lee Says:

TG – welcome home to all three of you!

As one of those who is “next,” I’m holding that thought close. For me, it won’t truly be a complete Christmas until I see her precious face. Soon, very soon I hope, for all of us who are still waiting. Today, I am just grateful for the wonderful people on this site who help me make it through.

So my thoughts and prayers are with us all in this long and emotional journey. I hope the Sept referrals show up soon, and remember please share the pictures. It keeps the rest of us going! Happy Holidays again………

What a day for hopeful hearts! This joyous day is somewhat overshadowed by the thoughts of our incompleted family. We are feeling the emptiness really intensly for the first time in this almost 16 month wait. Yet, we are hopeful referrals will relieve us of our aching hearts soon. Joyous Christmas and Blessed New Year to all!

  32. Ellieskyesmommy Says:

    Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah,

We celebrate both coming from my fathers side of the family. Ellie gets the best of both worlds. Since she is only 3 years old (4 in April) we only do the first 2 nights of Hanukkah and then Christmas morning.

This was Ellie’s first, somewhat, realization of what today’s holiday is. We did the whole sitting in Santa’s lap thing and even tracked Santa on NORAD last night.

At 10pm when we could finally wind her down she became wide eyed and terrified. Out of nowehere. As I was reading her books she would look up to her high windows and looked worried. Then the questions followed:

How will Santa get in the house?
Will he come into my room?
    Are the windows locked?

Then the flood of tears came. Fred and I felt hopeless. The month was filled with the anticipation of Santa. We did not want to leave her in her room (other side of the house) with this anxiety so she was allowed to come and join us in bed for the night. She fell right to sleep (once she was allowed to come to the alarm panel to see daddy set it).

This morning, after getting an elbow in the nose, she shot up and rolled over her father to get to the living room. 4 presents were waiting for her. She got exactly what she wanted: A dolly, a doctor kit, new sneakers, and a new video. They are so easy to shop for!

Hoping that 2007 brings us word of our daughter, Sagan Amelia.

Merry Christmas to all from a long-time British lurker. We have had a quiet, pleasant Christmas, with just my sister here, and our gentle, daft dog, and too much to eat – and oh, I want a noisy Christmas, with childish giggles and screams and silly wind-up toys, I want it so very, very much…

  39. Waiting for Zoey Says:

RQ, I know exactly how you feel. It’s hard to be in the Christmas Spirit, when your daughter is out there and you don’t know how she is and you’re wondering is she warm and has she had plenty to eat. The only thing that has gotten me through today is knowing that we’re next and we should see her precious little face soon!!! Our day has been full of “next year she’ll do this or that”!

Praying we hear something soon……I’ll be lurking around the CCAA tonight, just hoping for that last minute Christmas gift of knowing our referrals are on there way!!!!

    Merry Christmas!

I wanted to start a tradition of building gingerbread houses with all the kids. We used Martha Stewart’s idea of using Graham Crackers. Well, they kept collapsing over and over. I was worried the kids were going to start bawling. Finally as one was falling apart in my hands while I was frantically trying to save it, I looked up at my niece who had been waiting patiently. She started cracking up laughing. I had to laugh too….really hard……why is it I get the feeling Marha likes to print ideas she knows only SHE can do? When will I learn?
I promised real store-bought, stale gingerbread for next year. But for now I am stuck with 35 lbs. of candy. :)
