Today?

I don’t see any referrals for our European friends yet.

I keep looking. Hoping. But nothing yet.

The CCAA site did not change, and it’s been changing the morning before they arrive. However, some agencies are saying it won’t be changing anymore. If that is the case, why have they not just removed the box? They put that little postcard up, so they obviously have time to do some web design.

I don’t know what to think. I again think there is a chance we could see them today as at least one agency has told someone to stick close to the phone today “just in case”.

One agency said they were almost done matching over a week ago. Another agency says they haven’t even started matching yet. But, we always have someone say that just before they arrive. Every month I get an email saying an agency says they haven’t even started matching and within a day or two referrals arrive. I wonder if they had someone stop in and not see matching going on and assume they haven’t started when they are already through and waiting for the person who signs them to get them all signed.

Nah – don’t think there will be any referrals here in Sweden today anyway – everything (including agencies) is closed Dec 24-26 for X-mas. But referrals are always delayed at least a week here due to translations so maybe some European agencies will deliver today :-) Let’s hope that will be the case!

Keeping fingers and toes X:ed for you receiving your referral soon, RQ!

    Hi RQ
I’m in the UK – I know that we never get the first ihnt of referrals arriving (that’s why we watch this site so closely) but I just wanted to remind everyone that in the UK today (26th) is a bank holiday and so agencies (if we had them) would not be open. I don’t know about the rest of Europe.
    Best wishes to all,
    Kate

I think tomorrow will be the day … but as we also are Swedish I keep my fingers crossed for a referral as a present for my birthday in the beginning of January. Strange, this wait has been so depressing but now when we are next (lid 14 Sept) I just feel cool.
    Happy holidays, everyone!

Our agency (US) is closed today also.

Hopefully tomorrow will be the day for all those waiting. And maybe tomorrow the Review Room will be updated too!

Still feeling optimistic or the effects of the eggnog and Bailey’s ;)

Our agency is closed both Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. To quote them: “We have been monitoring the referral process and feel that referrals will not arrive while we are closed.”

So I am going to take these two days and get cleaned up from the TORNADO of wrapping paper and gifts that has descended upon our house.

Sounds great…I keep checking hoping for new news!! Was at a Xmas party last night…a lady told me she read something in the paper that said it is foreign governments who are trying to curb adoption from China to encourage domestic adoption????!!! Anyone hear of such a thing??!!

  8. mattnglo Says:

this is so cool to have adoptive families all over the globe on this site!!

  9. DJR Says:

Good morning all! It does sound like Thursday/Friday are more realistic based on so many of the agencies that are closed today and tomorrow. But, I have to believe if they got word of a DHL package coming there way, someone is “on call” to open the doors! As for matching…. What does the matching room do if they aren’t matching? It seems like that should be a full time job that is on-going all the time?? However, I guess one can question what they have been doing all day, the last 15 months! Anxiously awaiting the end of the week with all of you! Hang in there September families!! You are one day closer! -DJR (10/24/05)

DJR – look under “Important Posts” in the right sidebar, find “How the matching room works” – it should help explain things.

If I have to go back to school on the 3rd without news of our baby I’m gonna go with sack-cloth & ashes! Enough already!

Today is the 2nd anniversary of the tsunami that hit the Thailand area. This catastrophy is what ultimately led me DH and I to adopt. Our DD is not in Thailand, however she is waiting for us now in China and I am so ready to have her in my arms. Please, SOB this month.

    Hey “Lisa Mom to 2.5″…..
Are you guys from Cincinnati? I checked out your blog and you mentioned Graeters ice cream and that you live in Ohio. We live in Cincinnati and my weakness is Graeters double-chocolate chip!

Our agency is closed until Jan 2 BUT they said if their contact in China calls them and tells them that referrals are on the way, then they will go in and begin to process everything so as to not delay families getting their most prized packages!!!! So, we will definitely know something when it does happen…. here’s to a GREAT recovery day of cleaning house! haha

We live in Florida, but have the ice cream shipped occasionally.
I love the mint chocolate chip, the raspberry chip is good too, and the peach in the summer is wonderful.

Guess I might have to order some now.

    Happy Day,
