- I have reports of agencies receiving a new Waiting Children list today.
- We have reason to believe that the CCAA may mail referrals out tonight. Maybe.

probably no earlier than Tuesday unless they’re shooting for some Saturday delivery. I ordered an IPOD that ulimately shipped from Shenzen, China on Monday last week and it arrived Wednesday night via FedEx. UPS schedules are similar and I’d bet DHL’s as well. 2 Business Days for express-type shipments. So will they update the site before they’re received or are they skipping updating anymore?

RQ; here’s hoping for SOB.

If mailed tonight then agencies closed Monday – No News till earlies Tuesday or more likely Wednesday. Just my guess if this is true.
December 28th, 2006 at 3:15 pm
Katri:
I think you are right. I was told if they are shipped on Thurs. or Fri. then they would not arrive until Tues. b/c Mon. is a holiday. With Mon. a holiday, and two day express mail Ithink Wed. arrival is more likely. Maybe the site will change so we will at least know the cut off date.

I e-mailed my large China only agency about the processing box on the CCAA website. Their response was…
“We have not heard that the CCAA plans to remove the “Documents Processed” box on their website.”
Hopefully, if they do mail out referrals tonight, they will change the website and even though we may not get actual phone calls until next week, at least we’ll know the days they are matching. That is something I could really use to keep me hanging in there right now.

Does DHL ever deliver on the weekend? I know my agency would call if they were delivered. Gosh this is going to be the longest weekend of my life! (LID 09/09/05)
December 28th, 2006 at 3:19 pm
RQ-
What reason do we have to believe that referrals have been mailed today? Did someone’s agency speculate on this, or did they hear it directly from the CCAA? In any case I REALLy hope that this is true, I just don’t think that I can wait until the end of next week like some people have been saying…

RQ ~ what are the reasons you have that makes you believe referrals might be mailed out tonight?
December 28th, 2006 at 3:22 pm
Part of the reason people feel comfortable emailing me information is because I have never done anything to divulge a source. I do not intend to begin doing that now.
December 28th, 2006 at 3:22 pm
I am such a baby…what does SOB mean? (–In relation to the adoption prcess, of course.)

December 28th, 2006 at 3:26 pm
That’s ok RQ, I was just wondering if we can trust this info or not…
December 28th, 2006 at 3:33 pm
With it already being Dec 29 in China, it would fall right in line with the timing of the past few months, and what I was expecting to see.
December 28th, 2006 at 3:34 pm
Well, the maybe is there because it’s a maybe.
If it was a for sure thing I’d give it an R5.
I’m not even sure how to rate this one on the R scale – more than an R1 or an R2, but not really an R3 at this point, either. It’s not saying something “has” happened, it’s saying something “may” happen. It’s a rumor of a possibility, can’t really put that on the scale at all, can we?
December 28th, 2006 at 3:36 pm
I know a lot of people have mentioned the song by Third Day that is about the pain around Christmas time with your baby not with you…well, I just watched it for the first time, and I haven’t cried over a song like that in my life!

Our small agency has a new list. Only three kids though, ususally there are 5 or 6. These come in paper form, as she has let me see their files. She did not mention when referrals would come. When my friend told her I was thinking about a Feb referral she said “that is certainly possible” – I was thinking this was non-committal at best but my friend said she actually used the word “soon” which seems positive!
Honestly I don’t think they know.

Thanks for putting up the poll results from December 22nd regarding the number of LID’s per month.

Ok – With the time change – Thursday night Beijing time would be Thursday morning here. So they could be in Anchorage by now, or whereever. So RQ do you mean Thursday night Beijing time, and prehaps we could hear Friday. I hate to be a pain in the @$$ but now I am going crazy. I m going to analyize this to death.
BTW – I love the Anti-Spam word…It is the place I believe we are going to meet our baby. Will know soon.
December 28th, 2006 at 3:44 pm
I’m on the North American Continent. So tonight for me would be Friday in China.
No one is saying they went out last night, or Thursday in China.
December 28th, 2006 at 3:54 pm
OK – then we are not going to hear until next Tuesday at the earliest.
Now I need to do something else for a few days to keep my sanity.
Thanks!

Is this waiting list public or do only the agencies get it
December 28th, 2006 at 4:05 pm
I am keeping busy with putting all the Christmas decorations away…I want to have the house ready because we expecting a pretty quick TA. Our agency (and a lot of others) are telling their clients that they are going to try to get us in and out of China for CNY so I have a lot to do to be ready in time!!!

I usually treat myself to a new Christmas cd each year before the holiday. This year as I was picking out cd’s for my son the Third Day CD was just sitting there ‘misplaced’. Since I am a fan I was excited to see it and snapped it up. I listened to it the whole day in and out of stores running errands… then the last song came on. I heard a few words, China town, little girl… I replayed it and got chills. I ended up sobbing in the car…
When I started the process last October, I thought I would have my daughter home by this Christmas, now I do not have hope to have her home for next either.
The wait is excruciating.

I got a Happy New Year note from my agency so I don’t think they are planning on communicating with us until next week. However, I did get the baby clothes down from the loft and have started sorting. Next week isn’t that long away and then only 8 more weeks until we meet our babies. I will just keep really, really busy!!
December 28th, 2006 at 4:26 pm
My agency tells us that the CCAA reports they are still making matches for this batch, so we won’t hear until next week. So, another holiday passes us by without a baby or a referral. Unbelievable.

familyforbabyfaith:
Did you watch a video of this song from Third Day? I have the CD but is there a video as well? How do I get to it? Thanks.
December 28th, 2006 at 4:27 pm
Mmmmmm. Interesting rumor to be… I’ll just be content right now to know the cut off for this set of referrals. I wanna know if I am next or not!! This will be a looooooong weekend for a lot of us. However, I will be staying away from my laptop on Saturday. Tomorrow is our 11th anniversary, so we are celebrating all day on Saturday. I am taking him to Dave and Busters. It is a huge restaurant, arcade, bar type of place. So much fun if you like alcohol and video games!!! I figured this would be our last anniversary without munckins, so we better enjoy it as much as possible. ( If I wasn’t such a baby, I would have taken him sky diving) (shudder!!)

I’m thrilled to finally hear a rumor….but it figures that they would send the Friday before a Monday holiday so that we have to wait one more day. Yes, CCAA, I have flunked your patience test.
December 28th, 2006 at 4:52 pm
CCAA has been consistent. They proceed at their own pace. I try to keep myself in a calmer place by not anticipating a mailing before 12/30 which seems to be about the norm – holiday or no holiday.

Is there any new word on TA’s? I know earlier in the week it was posted that a couple of China only agencies either had received them or were expecting to receive them soon. We received our referral call on December 1st. It is amazing that a month has already passed by! Our hearts go out to all of you “in line” for this next batch.

December 28th, 2006 at 5:22 pm
I received email from agency saying to enjoy the weekend holiday. They do not anticipate getting referrals until after New Year, which is exactly what everyone here is already saying. So…..HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone, remember….2007 and our baby’s picture.
Oh! They also said they received written guidelines today. DW
December 28th, 2006 at 5:31 pm
I’m hoping the CCAA will send out a big batch of SN TA’s as well!! I’m only at Day 36 after LOI, but there are quite a few families I know are over 100 days — one I saw recently was over 160+ days waiting for TA (not sure what their personal circumstances were). Hopefully, 2007 will start with lots of referral pictures and CHINA TRAVEL!
December 28th, 2006 at 5:45 pm
To everyone with a September LID I sure hope you hear something very soon! I cannot even imagine how you are all feeling right now! Do you even sleep at night? I know what some of you are saying about trying to keep busy. I was fortunate enough to recieve baby clothes from my 2 nieces -six big tubs worth! I spent hours sorting it. Which was kind of fun, but yet part of me is questioning ” Will this adoption ever happen? Will I actually have a daughter that will wear these clothes?” Do any of you ever go through this feeling of doubt? I am LID Nov 05 and am so hoping that this next batch of referrals will get through the rest of September.

Okay, maybe we will see a website change tonight. BTW-is that bouncing Christmas greeting on the CCAA website getting on anyone else’s nerves, or just mine??!!

tvanhyfte–
You know, when I was waiting for my daugher from China(adopted Feb. 2003) I actually had friends who thought the whole adoption thing might end up a scam, and there would be no baby. I waited and waited and waited…and waited and waited…I thought it would never end.
Then I blinked, and I’ve had my daughter for almost 4 years and she recently had her second Christmas program where my precious girl was up there singing her heart out…while I cried my eyes out…typical for me. Anyway, yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Clause, and your baby will be in your arms…and then off to kindergarten..sniff sniff..and on and on…
and now I wait again, for daughter #2 to watch all this fly by again… LID 1-10-06

tvanhyfte–
I sent you a response, and it disappeared…let’s try it again:
When I was waiting for my daughter (adopted from China, 2003) I was waiting and waiting and waiting. And some of my friends thought actually the whole thing might be a scam. I didn’t know…I just kept waiting….and in a blink of an eye, I have had my daughter almost 4 years now. As I watched her sing her heart out at her second Christmas program, I cried! I have watched her grow and change, and conquer fears, and learn to trust and then I sent her off to kindergarten in August. All of it tearfully, that is just how I am. Now, I wait for daughter #2(Sophia, LID 1-10-06) As hard as it is, believe me, it flies by so fast. Just like everyone said it would. You will have your baby, and toddler, and kindergartner in a blink of an eye! I sure have!
December 28th, 2006 at 6:11 pm
Our agency received a new list of SN kids today so at least something is happening….
December 28th, 2006 at 6:14 pm
Is the CCAA site gonna be updated or not anymore? I only heard that the new rules went out – when did they say they wouldn’t update the “documents processing” box on the site? Sounds like y’all think it’s worthless trying to have a p.j. party and wait for the site to change – huh? Guess I’m ready for a baby shower party and feel cheated and down-in-the dumps….(poor pityful ‘ole sept.05 er’s) When we get through this line it’ll probably speed up. :-) (old joke been here too long) COME ON 2007!!!! NEW YEAR & NEW BABY!

The name of the song is “Merry Christmas,”it is by a group called Third Day…
December 28th, 2006 at 6:47 pm
The song is titled “Merry Christmas” – by Third Day
These lyrics were on someone’s MySpace page…
There’s a little girl trembling on a cold December morn’
Cryin’ for mama’s arms
At an orphanage just outside a little China town
Where the forgotten are
But half a world away I hang the stockings by the fire
And dream about the day when I can finally call you mine
It’s Christmas time again but you’re not home
Your family is here and yet you’re somewhere else alone
So tonight I pray that God will hold you in his arms
And tell you from my heart
I wish you Merry Christmas
As I hang the tinsel on the tree
And watch the twinkling lights
I’m warmed by the fire’s glow
Outside the children tumble in a wonderland of white
Make angels in the snow
Half the world away
You try to fight away the tears
And hope that heaven’s angels
Come to carry you here
It’s Christmas time again but you’re not home
Your family is here and yet you’re somewhere else alone
So tonight I pray that God will hold you in his arms
And tell you from my heart
I wish you Merry Christmas
Christmas is a time of celebrate the Holy Child
When we celebrate his perfect years of love
He came to rest and give his life and prepare his place for us
So we could have a home with him above
It’s Christmas time again and you’re home
Your family is here, so you’ll never be alone
So tonight before you go to sleepI’ll hold you in my arms
And tell you from my heart,
I’ll tell you from my heart
I wish you Merry Christmas

You are so not alone in your feelings of doubt. I’ve haven’t felt sure that I would have my daughter since this time last year. Never able to really get excited because of all the uncertainty and the slowdown.
I feel that when I have the referral packet in my hand I will finally let the dam burst and feel the excitement and joy that I think we all deserve. Everyone around me better stand back, dams bursting are pretty dramatic!
Good luck to all,

Dear Everyone,
Please remember that we received our first daughters “call” on December 31, 2003. That was a shocker considering my agency told me there would be no referrals from China in December!
So here is hoping that a call is in your immediate furture!
We will be toasting Ellie (with chocolate milk, of course) at the same diner we received the call in. We do it every year since. Celebration, Florida!
