No rumors this morning

I’ve been ’round the world looking for rumors, haven’t seen anything.

If anyone hears anything interesting, please let me know.

Lets hope the CCAA does not choose this month NOT to update their site. If they are working this weekend, then I hope at least they are matching more babies to make SOB posssible!!! I feel for you September LIDers. Here’s to SOB, then OOB, then NOB…..

  2. 22china Says:

My arms actually seem to ache for wanting to hold our baby. Does anyone else have that sensation in your arms or chest? Could this be a sign?

  3. familyforbabyfaith Says:

I also have that feeling in my arms, just wanting so badly to hold your baby. I think it is more your emotions than a sign though…

  4. threebluesteps Says:

Good morning all, & why the angst? I thought, from reading all RQ’s incoming info, that everything is on track as usual: referrals are mailed or about to be, arriving end of Dec or first days of Jan,
    as always.
    Everything is on track.
We know (finally) the new rules.
Matches for most (or even all) of September 05 are coming.
If any Sept’s miss this one, they fall into the rare and wonderful position of KNOWING they are next. (Or, “NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”)
All is well. All shall be well. The most exciting thing in the world
    is just about to happen.
    Happy New Year!

  5. Clementine Says:

Well, at least there are no bad rumors. Guess I would rather have no rumors than the awful depressing ones. I’ll use this no news day to clean my house. (Of course, I’ll check in every hour just to see!)
Here’s to 2007 being a great year full of babies!

  6. 22china Says:

Now I am simply being impatient rather than worried! My uncle died and will be buried on Wednesday. Interesting how the cycle of life continues. One member of a family passes on and a new member soon arrives. Having nothing but positive feelings today.

  7. gonnagetkayli Says:

Hey all of you September mommies and daddies I hope you kept yourselves busy last night or at least managed to get some ZZZZZZ’s. I am not even LID yet and I couldn’t fall asleep until around 3am, I am so anxious for you guys!! WOW this is going to be a long process!! I will keep all of you in my thoughts…..

  8. DougH Says:

    22china…

That happened to me in 2002. My father passed in May of 2002 and we brought our daughter home that November.

  9. jennifergebhart Says:

Remember what I said day before yesterday- - -
Everyone stay calm! I know its easier said than done with all of us being in labor all at once but if we panic and get upset it is just going to make the next few days even worse.

I am going to keep myself very busy over the next two days with out of town company so I won’t have time to sit and think about ‘what might happen’.

I’m not a big follower of the ladybug thing… not superstitious in general really, but have noticed something lady bug related the last few times referrals came or a new waiting list came to my agency. Well last night, we were opening some leftover Christmas gifts for our kids and my step-daughter got a bunch of hair ties with all different colored lady bugs on them! Could be nothing, but thought I’d mention it! :-)

Threebluesteps is right!!! Thanks for reminding me.
Happy New Year to everyone. Hang in there!!

  12. jmlance Says:

what happened to those agencies reporting 9/23 as a cutoff?? like, wayyyyy back early in Dec… so glad those are gone! now, where are the 9/29 rumors?? where did those go?? those are my friends!!! :-)

  13. Blossombaby Says:

My theory is that the CCAA has paid an employee to come in Sunday night at 8:00pm their time to update their website (ha) - which is of course 9:00am our time Monday morning. Or maybe they’ll do this Monday night. Then they can keep us in the dark til the last possible moment - which seems to be so important to them lately. : - ) However, I also agree with Threebluesteps - all is well, all shall be well.

I am trying to keep VERY busy to keep my mind off the referrals. I just keep telling myself that we’re next and the referrals will come at the perfect time. In the mean time, I have been doing some MAJOR house cleaning, part of it is nesting and part of it is nervousness! I have every single Christmas decoration already put away, the house is spot-less, and baby’s bag is already packed for China!!!! I am on a role and only stopped at the computer while dusting it ; ) to see if there were any developments! Any suggestions for what I should do next? I think this is the first time in my life, but I have run out of things to clean!

  15. GinaH Says:

I dreamt last night that I looked at the CCAA site and it read the cutoff date was Oct. 6. Don’t know what that means, but in October I dreamt the cutoff was Aug. 25 and it happened, even though the rumored date was Aug. 23. I didn’t have a related dream in November.
Not really a rumor, but that’s what I’ve got. I don’t typically have “psychic” dreams so who knows.
    Gina

  16. mia2me Says:

I just heard from my agency that matching is completed (as one would assume by the 29th of the month!) they do not have info on the cutoff date but they expect they’ll receive everything next week. they did not mention anything about the CCAA closing early next week.

  17. tryingtobepatient Says:

    gonnagetkayli,
I feel the same way I’m so excited for everyone, and we aren’t even DTC. We started the process in May 06, and worked as fast as we could on our part. Everything took longer than our agency told us it would. We are with a small agency, they only send DTC when they have a group big enough. We had all our Docs. in at the end of Nov. and they aren’t sent yet so now we have to pay the increased fee. I follow this site everyday. Man, this is going to be a long wait!

  18. familyforbabyfaith Says:

I am done cleaning and I have resorted to retail therepy…this can’t be good! I just oredered baby’s carrier and am thinking about getting one of those “Lucky Mommy” shirts for Gotch Day… I decided to get the Mei Tai carrier, has anyone ever used this? Any comments on it?

  19. Katri Says:

Thanks, Mia2me!!! Maybe that means that everythings about to be mailed.
BTW - we are naming our little girl “Mia” also!

I would love to come clean for you, as long as it is something keeping me busy and from sitting in front of the computer refershing RQ ; ) At least we know that we are both next!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : )

If you’re still looking for suggestions of what to do next…you could always come to my house and continue with your cleaning frenzy ;-)

What do you know…I ordered a baby carrier last night. I was on watching this site and the CCAA site and did a little e-shopping too. I ordered the “Over the shoulder baby holder” it is a brand a lot of my friends use. It goes up to 45 pounds so we will be able to get plenty of use out of it.

As far as the waiting goes, I am going crazy. My face is even breaking out and I am far from the age of break outs. My arms ache also. They have been for months now and I am just in the next!!!!!!!!!!! catergory. I’ve never been one who can “wait” I even met and married my husband (of 16 years) in 2 and a half months. Anyway, I am trying to just leave it in God’s hands. (am I allowed to say that here) But even though I leave it, I keep grabbing it back from Him.

To all of you that stayed up last night….I’m so sorry:o(… they WILL come!

Someone posted this blog link last year to my agencies group. I don’t think it’s been posted on here before - at least not recently.

I thought everyone might enjoy it while we wait for the stinking box to change - once you get on the blog; there are a bunch of pictures of Sophie…what I would like y’all to see is the videos. To get to that you need to scroll down until the scroll bar is about 1/3 from the top (or just enjoy the pictures of little miss cutie while you scroll:o)).

    http://waitingforsophie.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_waitingforsophie_archive.html

There is a ton of stuff on this blog…they are adopting 2 more that are not from China. I think it’s worth seeing it all.

I dont’ know these folks but to be honest their blog (and this one!) has helped me survive and my family survive the wait.
    Blessing to y’all

  25. familyforbabyfaith Says:

    twOH–

I have watched ‘Sophie’s Story’ before, it is a very good video…but be prepared to cry, it is heart-wrenching to watch if you do not yet have your baby…have the tissues ready!

Over the shoulder baby holder. . . . .that brings back memories!! In highshcool, I took swimming instead of gym class and in the lockeroom, we called our bra’s ‘over the shoulder boulder holder’

Thanks Mylia, you gave me a chuckle today thinking back!

Waitingforbabyfaith . . . . yep, we are next I am breathing deep trying to stay calm

    Mylia–

I can understand the ‘grabbing it back from Him.’ It is HARD to stay calm, especailly with all this uncertainty with when referrals will come. Maybe it is just because this is MY month, but there seems to be no rumors on when it will be here, or what the cut off date is! Also, it seems to be taking SO MUCH LONGER then all the other months…When we finally get our referral, I think that I am going to sleep for two days straight, and then go into manic-mode with the realization that we are going to China and bringing back OUR baby in less then a two months!!!!! And I will love every minute of it : )

  29. twOH Says:

familyforbabyfaith - this is my first and our LID is 11-17-05 - thanks for mentioning the tissues part - I needed those!

Until recently I did not know any families that had adopted from China so for me it solitified that it would happen…gave me some hope…
I would agree that if someone would be upset by seeing a family get their baby it may not be a blog to visit right now

  30. familyforbabyfaith Says:

    twOH–

A November LID isn’t so bad! You could have your referral sooner then you think if the CCAA does complete September this time! And I agree, it does give you hope watching someone elses ‘gotcha day.’

    familyforbabyfaith-
I have used and still use my Mei Tai carrier. I LOVE IT!! I was a devote Baby Bjorn wearier until now. I’ve used it with my daughter when she was a newborn and I still use it for my 3 1/2yr. old. It will take you a few times to get the hang of it but once you do, you’ll love it. I recommend practicing several times before you travel to China or it will end up being frustrating. This website shows you several different ways to tye your carrier. http://www.wrapyourbaby.com/meitai.htm

I wore it last year at the Chinese New Year’s parade in Los Angeles and it was so fun to see several asian grandma’s with babies on their backs using a Mei Tai. :) That confirmed to me that this was the coolest carrier ever!!

My agency has said April 2mo in a row - our anniversary is Mar.1. That would be SO nice but it’s very optimistic, I know.
I’m tired of having that constant heavy feeling in my chest and I like you saying I might have my referral sooner:o) :o) :o) it took that feeling away for just a few seconds….ahhhh….thanks. I desperately needed that.

I had been wonder where to get one of these! Thanks! And great link too!

  34. overflowingpsalm235 Says:

twOH- I bought mine from http://two-hearts-carrier.com/ I met this sweet lady a year ago through ebay. She is an adoptive mommy, too. We have since become wonderful email friends! You can read her journal to see when her little peanut joined their family. You get to choose the fabric you want and she will have it sewn and shipped to you within a week. She has some awesome asian prints :)

You could definately get a March referral, just keep the faith!! I bought my Mei Tai from the same site mentioned by overflowingpsalm235, the customer service was great! And I asked my neighbor if I could try it on her baby : ) and she said yes, so tomorrow I go to ‘practice’ using my Mei Tai! And twOH, this is also my first child, but at least I know that next time around I will have a little bundle to keep me busy!

I have had this same problem today with my post not posting and then 15m later it would be there! Also, good to know that 2 happy customers used 2 hearts carrier - I’m thinking there will be 3 soon:o)

meetingcate - I have been buying stuff too - and my parents went WAY overboard at Christmas for her. They also drug down a ton of stuff from when i was little from the attic too, to pass on. Very sweet.

I’m keeping the faith girfriend! I’m hopin’ for March!!!

  42. familyforbabyfaith Says:

    twOH,

I think you will love your Mei Tai! I actually ended up going over tonight to try it out, and I put her baby in it, he fell asleep within 5 minutes, 2 hours before his normal bedtime! The little bit of research that I did on them said that babie’s love the feeling of being close to your heart and it litterally lulls them to sleep! It was not hard at all to use either! I will definately be praying for a March referral (or earlier???!!!)

    twOH-
What a small world. Twana is the best…I just love her to pieces. I just told her to stop adding all of those cool new features…I already have 3 of her carriers…long story, I’m a silly girl as dh would say :) Not sure if she is still listing them on ebay but they usually are a little cheaper on there.

I recommended her carriers to several of my friends and they all love them and absolutely loved them in China. Although, one said she wished she had practiced with it more before traveling. So definitely seize any opportunities to try it out…maybe even on a really big stuffed bear :)

  44. twOH Says:

    thanks zoe and stacy -

I am going to talk to dh about getting one tonight - he has to approve since i hope he’ll use it sometimes too…our newdiaper bag is navy and black…he won’t carry a pink one LOL.

I’m praying with you for that next, and biggest, batch this year!
