Information, finally
I’m getting some information, but trying to put it all together to make sense is another story.
None of this is beyond an R3 right now. If anyone else has information they’ve heard yesterday or today from their agency, please send it to me.
What I have so far is that 9/26 is looking pretty good, but I have some conflicting information coming in about 9/29, and I have not heard anything about 9/30 yet. I also have some information that points to 10/7 not being included.
In the past two months it seems that the CCAA has not given “the” cut off date to agencies, but has let some agencies know which referrals they will be receiving. So then I have to try to make sense of people who say “my agency’s next two log in dates are A and B, and the A people have been told they are getting their referrals but the B people are told they are not”.
Again, I’m not going above an R3 with any of this, but it would really only take one or two more “9/26 is in” emails or PM’s from someone with a different agency for me to take the “9/26 is in and I don’t know how much farther they got” part of it to an R4.

I’m hoping to hear happy news for all of our September logged-in friends soon.

Do we know what the CCAA’s first October working day would have been in 2005 ? We are LID 10.17.05 and I know the CCAA is closed for the first week of Octobers but I’m trying to get a handle on how far ahead that puts us.

December 31st, 2006 at 4:34 pm
Oh no! If it really is only through the 26th, that’s pretty pathetic in terms of # of matches, right? I count 125 matches with 9/26 being the cut-off. Another 125 matches for the batch after that would not even get through 10/10….and not include us. You know, I’ve been too afraid to hope for 9/29 to be included and thought I was prepared for it, but now I realize I’m not prepared. I really do need them to get through 9/29 this time, for selfish reasons–but also for all you late Sept. folks.

Hi RQ and everyone,
I’ve recently been introduced to your site and enjoy getting the support from others with shared emotions as well as the wealth of information. Someone posted a comment earlier today that said that CCAA has gotten through about six months worth of referrals in the year 2006. I was wondering if any of you think that will stay the same during 2007. My husband and I have a LID of January 12, 2006. Do you think we will travel during this upcoming year of 2007?
Thank you for your support and Happy New Year to all!
December 31st, 2006 at 4:37 pm
No one said it’s only to the 26th, just that I’m very close to having enough info to be sure it is at least to the 26th.
The first October LID is 10/7, I think. so, it’s not looking like any of October is in this time - if that’s the case.
December 31st, 2006 at 4:40 pm
RQ-
I did my own research several months ago and I agree, the first Oct. LID that I could find was the 7th.

Thanks SIS and RQ. I’m still crossing my fingers for a January referral.

HopefulFor07 - linked in the Important Posts section in the right hand sidebar is a link about the backlog - you might want to read through that.
You might also want to look up in the very top under Site Navigation and visit the CCAA Updates & Referrals link to see how things have been going.

Finally something! Hopefully we’ll see referrals early this week!

Nihao (My anti-spam word for this one…)
I am with Marythefifth on this one. 125 RQ families through the 26th would be disappointing…. Since they broke the 200 for RQ referrals for the 11/2 and 11/30 batches I am keeping the faith they will not disappoint….. Since they have taken the extra days and missed Hannukah, Christmas, and New Years perhaps they have been using the extra time to be productive??? OK - wishful thinking but 9/26 just doesn’t make sense based on what we know. Holding the torch for you 9/29-9/30 families to be included…. Here we go for the next wild ride. Hang on, and good luck!! Happy New Year!

I understand that a lot of time has been taken this month dealing with the rules, the agency’s questions about the rules, and then the media attention to the rules.

BRING ON 2007!!!!!
December 31st, 2006 at 5:13 pm
I know, RQ–all is not yet lost for 9/27 on. I just did a little wig-out when I read “conflicting reports” about 9/29. I’m a mess over here…how are you staying so cool-headed?!
I just picked up a six pack at the local drive-through. This old guy behind me said, “Going to a party?” I said, “Nope! Staying in with the kids!” I’ll try to abstain until after bedtime…is 6 p.m. too early for a 3 year old to go to bed?
December 31st, 2006 at 5:17 pm
9/29 is still a very real possibility.
At this point, I’d say the odds are better that 9/29 is in than that they are not.
But it’s still at an R3.

m5-
I’m jealous. You can drive thru and buy beer on a SUNDAY! Not here. Last night at 10pm dh realized we were low on “Sunday Beer” so we had to make a Sunday Beer Run. When we got into the parking lot he handed me a little sign that he STOLE from the beer cooler in the store. It states: Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve fall on Sunday this year. State Law prohibits the sale of beer and wine on Sundays. Get your beer and wine needs early!!!
6 is not too early. When I was a nanny and I wanted my 3 year old little guy to chill out I would tell him to run around the perimeter of the house while I count to see how long it would take. On your mark, get set, GO!!

If referrals were out last year on 1/2/06 when were they mailed/ when did agencies recieve them? When was the site updated? Just not sure why the holiday has to stop everything for 2 whole weeks (last Christmas week and then this week!) If my agency doesn’t get back to the office on Thurs/Friday….then yes it’ll be January 8th!!! yuk. yuk.puk.puk. Somebody stick a fork in me.
December 31st, 2006 at 5:34 pm
RQ–I love you for saying that. Will you marry me? Can I come clean your house? Organize your closets? Say yes while I’m still sober!
Sis–LOL! It’s raining here, so laps won’t work! I’m a big fan of the early bedtime. A friend asked me once when my kids go to bed. I answered, “Are we talking averages or personal best?” The grandparents are taking 2 out of 3 kids out tonight, so I should be on the couch watching a good dumb movie anytime now.

HopefulFor07-
I have an LID of 1-10-06 and from everything I’ve heard…and I’ve been listening for several months now, the most consistent projection for our LID month seems to be referral around June…probably getting our precious bundles in August or so. That is what I am emotionally preparing myself for. Honestly, nobody knows really…things are up in the air, but this seems to be the most likely scenario in my opinion. However, there are people who would say no, it might not be until 2008, but I really don’t believe that. I don’t believe that for a lot of reasons. I hope I am right. Think about signing up to talk in the LID room here…so people with the same LID can support each other.
This is going to be a tough wait.
Take care, Tina

SIS,
We have the same blue laws. DH went out the other day and stocked us up on Hard Mike’s Cranberry because he knows I like it. I have some Trader Joe wine stashed away too for when the mood hits.
December 31st, 2006 at 5:44 pm
RQ - can we get a Nov LID poll started so we can see where the BIG days fall in NOv? Maybe an Oct. poll too to make sure Oct. numbers are current? Anxious to see how Oct might pan out and what early to mid Nov. looks like.
December 31st, 2006 at 5:50 pm
Come on SOB. I am really rooting for all of you guys. and in a way for everyone who follows. The further they get I think the happier all of us will be even us newbies.
Sis,
My son has been sent outside to run 3 laps around the house on several occassions when he gets too rowdy. He thinks it is great fun and it really works. One time he said “can I go around 5 times mom?” I replied GO FOR IT!!
Now I say GO FOR IT CCAA!!!!!!!
December 31st, 2006 at 5:52 pm
Well, I am really hoping for 9/29 because its such a large day (not to say I don’t want 9/30; but I would worry about this given how large 9/29 is). I just keep saying SOB, then OOB,. then NOB.
Thanks RQ for the information.
Trying to be patient with a November 2005 LID and hoping for all you September LID’s for SOB!!!

I had my first 2 Buck Chuck yesterday. We just got a Trader Joe’s. Of course, with the screwy alcohol taxes here, 2 Buck Chuck is $2.99 here. Best 3 dollar wine I’ve ever tasted!
I hope the case managers at all of the agencies are enjoying their long weekend b/c I have a feeling they are going to be getting a lot of calls from anxious parents on Tues. Hopefully, they’ll have some answers.

okay, in tears as i write this, RQ, thank you for saying what you said about 9/29 being still in the running. i did read on our agency’s site that there will be no mail running on Tues as Pres. Bush has declared it a day of mourning for Gerald Ford’s passing… does this affect FedEx, DHL, too?? i just want to see my baby girl……… 9/29 and barely hanging on…….

okay, maybe I’m just being an optimistic idiot here, but is there anyone else who believes that there will be a ton of people move to other countries programs, as well as move to the SN route, and that with the number of LID’s starting in april getting consistently smaller that things might get “normal” again? I have a LID in July 06, so its not that I’m expecting us to get a speedy referral, just wondering if anyone else out there thinks that maybe once we get past the monster months, and into the smaller months in 06, maybe things will pick up a bit?

I think folks will bail. I was feeling *completely* unwilling to pull my dossier, but I’m re-thinking. I know of a couple of folks in town who have changed their minds & surely as folks’ circumstances change, more & more will bail out. I have absolutley no idea how this will affect wait times — likely very little. But perhaps together with folks being denied (although I’m not suggesting this is common), the program will inspire less steadfast loyalty?
I know a local November family & a local December family & I just keep thinking, “How are they handling this??” but then I remember I’m MAY & then I just try not to think about it at all.

O.k.–HOPEFUL FOR ‘O7–This is how I think you get into an LID room. Hopefully, it will at least get you close.
Alright, if you look in Forum under General Discussion, you will see a “thread” on how to get into an LID room. I think you will need to log in first, and then post to RQ that you would like to be in a room for January 2006. Then, magically, when RQ opens up a room for you…it will be under “private areas”, I think.
O.k., friends, if I have told HopefulFor07 wrong, please help!

Happy New Year Everybody!!!! I am a little sad. Just because last year at this time I was saying, “this is it, 2006, this is the year we get our baby!” And now, we are almost to 2007, and not even a referral has been given… But, there is hope, thank goodness we are next, I don’t know what I would’ve done if we wern’t… We should have our referral sometime next week (if not, the next week…) and then we will travel to get our baby girl. And then, we will be what we have been dreaming about for 5 LONG years…parents. So I can now say,”this is it, 2007, this is the year we bring our baby home!” And that makes me very happy! So, now I am VERY ready to bring on the new year. It will not be one without struggles, but it will still be very sweet. Happy New Year Everybody, thank you RQ for keeping this site up all 2006 for us, you are such a blessing to us all!!!!!!!

What wonderful news to come home to! These days I tend to project conservatively in order to decrease the discouragement when months are slow. I told myself every day past 09/20 would be a blessing and it looks like CCAA is leaving that date in the dust! Yeah!!! Looking forward to hearing more.
Congrats to all those waiting to see their babies for the very first time, very soon!

Happy New Year!!! Best wishes for dreams coming true in 2007 (and some of us getting a year closer)…
Actually just wanted to type my anti-spam word “baba”. N

oscar1elmo,
I don’t think we’ll see a speed up of referrals until the CCAA begins processing dossiers with LID’s of May 1, 2007 and beyond. The number of dossiers already logged in is so large and I think it will take the CCAA a L O N G time to clear the backlog. We’ll be DTC by the end of the month and if current referral times hold, we’re looking at an Aug/Sept 2009 referral - ick, uck!! I don’t know how I’m going to stand such a long wait. My daughter will be 5.5 before she gets a little sister and by then she probably won’t want one. Sad. Very, very sad.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
CCAA bring it on!!!!! SOB!!!!
One of my New Year resolutions is not to think the CCAA is torturing me by wihholding info…etc!!! You know what I mean??!! - Realistically, I think the CCAA plows away without a thought on us. Like competent surgeons…they divorce themselves from investing emotionally in their work so they can work objectively. Imagine if they invested emotionally in their work!!!
All the same…I’m with you Journey to Maggie…this misery must end. Here’s to new referrals in the NY!!

Bill or anyone else using the Atlanta USCIS - what was your renewal turnaround time for the 171? We have a 9/12 LID, but don’t think we will have our renewed 171 in time for travel.

Thanks for the tips, Lovepumpkin! I’ve taken notes and I’ll try it soon.
Happy New Year to all! May this be the year that so many of us bring home our babies!
