Wondering which group is getting TAs, the Dec 1 group or the Jan4 group of referrals. Our agency is leaving today for travel from the Dec 1 group. 5 weeks!!!
January 10th, 2007 at 1:35 pm
Thank you TAB. That was the same question that I had. Anyone know?
January 10th, 2007 at 1:37 pm
These are still TA’s from the early December referrals. It is WAY too early for TA’s from the recent batch to start arriving.
January 10th, 2007 at 2:09 pm
Thanks, RQ. That is what I thought. Happy to see that travel can be done at 5 weeks!
January 10th, 2007 at 2:48 pm
We are still waiting. Our acceptance letters were received by the CCAA on December 8th for our 11/30 referral. Still no TA – I am starting to wonder if it will ever happen. Happy travels to those getting ready to leave.
January 10th, 2007 at 4:01 pm
It will happen. We received our referral on Sept 27th, 2005 and our TA didn’t come until Nov 8th. We were some of the last from that batch of referral to receive TA’s, but when we did finally get TA, we traveled the next week. Be ready to roll! ;0)

What do you (or others) hear about families who are currently waiting and have LID in late 2006-07 leaving China programs for other programs? I have been hearing about this lately. Between people leaving China programs and those who will no longer be eligible come May 07 do you think it will really speed referral wait times up? I can see how it would for people who are just now getting LIDs but for those who have had them for a year or more are the new rules actually going to be helpful? (I know they are hurtful to a lot of families who would otherwise be interested in China adoptions.)
Thanks!

May there is different “rules” between agencies in the USA and Europe?
However, our agency in Sweden says it´s normal to wait 6-8 weeks after you got the referral before you get a TA.
So I´m prepared for that and don´t see anything unusual in this information about “late” TA for some families.

TAB – is your agency small, medium, or large? And how many people are traveling in this group. Also, which SWI? Thanks,

I asked this on another posting but will ask here, just in case someone knows…. any idea when matching starts before referrals are sent out??? about how many days before?? super duper anxious here, can hardly STAND IT! Ack!!!
LID 9/29/05 – we’re next! wow!!!
January 10th, 2007 at 9:04 pm
I’ve been told my agency has TA’s for the 11/30 referrals, but is waiting to confirm consulate appointments. We are told travel is generally 7-10 weeks after referral — if the information some SWs are giving out is correct, we will leave about 8 weeks after (Jan. 25). I’m presuming that many people are trying to get consulate appointments before CNY, and that’s probably part of the slowness right not.
January 10th, 2007 at 9:22 pm
Ok, I’ve been trying to sort things out in my head, but I need your help. Our LID is 11/04. Is is possible that we will see our daughter’s face by the end of March and could travel to China in May or is that wishful thinking? I can’t seem to figure it out since we are getting ready to see CCAA shut down for Chinese New Year. Any ideas?
January 10th, 2007 at 9:26 pm
I hope this doesn’t double post, but I haven’t seen the first post yet, so we’ll try again. We’re LID 11/05. Is it wishful thinking to hope for pictures of our daughter in March and travel in May? Is this even possible for the CCAA shutdown for CNY? Any ideas?

My friend got her referral on Nov 30. She is with a large China only agency. She leaves January 18th for China.
January 10th, 2007 at 10:45 pm
NEED YOUR BEST GUESS PLEASE!!
with a LID of 10/21/05, do you think my referral will come in the Feb batch, or the one after that?
I have to give notice at work NOW and need to take my best shot.
Thanks!

Dear RQ,
My LID is 10/14/2006.
As you said earlier it could be possible that they match until the 18th… Do you have an idea when you travel to China then? What is the average time between proposal and traveldate?
Regards, Brigitte

We’re still waiting for our TA for our Nov 30 referral. It’s causing a problem for us with my husband’s job, since there are a lot of other people involved in order for him to be gone so long, and they’re all getting antsy. For those of you who received your CA in the last two days, when have they been scheduling your consulate appts?

Late Feb early Mar would be my guess with travel by May 1-15

midnightsmom –
We received TA yesterday (our referral actually came to our small, China-only agency on 12/01). Acceptance letters were mailed to CCAA on 12/11. We are waiting on CA; I will post when we know. The agency is usually conservative in their estimates, and they are saying they expect us to travel the first or second week in Feb and be home before CNY (that would be a trick if we leave the second week). I expect it will actually happen sooner.
January 11th, 2007 at 12:30 pm
Our group received our TA today! Our referrals arrived on 12/1 as well. Acceptance letters were mailed out on 12/12. We too are waiting on our CA now. It looks like we could travel two to three weeks from now.

Our CA is Jan 29, I have seen a lot of people with CA the 30th too! GOod luck to all! My advice is get going on your list, they seem to give you like 2 weeks total after TA to get to China, some in our Ref date got TA’s Monay and leave Sunday, because they are doing a longer stay in Beijing!

Traveling in 6 days!

Anyone else from the Nov. 30 referral batch still waiting on TA’s? I must admit I was not counting on this taking so long after referral to hear about our TA. Our travel group is extremely large. Could that affect our turnaround time?
At this point I am fearful that we will have to wait until after CNY to go.
January 11th, 2007 at 3:28 pm
waitingonsarah,
I was going to reply not to feel bad, that you are not alone in your wait… Then I went to your website and realized we are with the same agency. Are we the only ones left with no TA????
Anyone?
January 11th, 2007 at 5:25 pm
FINALLY! We received our TA this afternoon. Looks like a Feb 5 CA, which means we need to be in the province to get our little one on Jan 28 – I can’t believe it’s finally happening!!!!
Watching so many others get TAs before us was very, very, difficult, and my heart goes out to anyone out there still waiting.
January 11th, 2007 at 5:39 pm
Just received an email from our agency (small, multi-country) that they have received TAs. We got our referrals on Nov. 31 but there was a slight delay while UPS located a referral packet that got lost somewhere between the agency and the family.
Only other possible holdup is that two of our families have not yet received their 171H. However, our agency has an email from USCIS that those 171H’s have been cabled to Guangzhou even if the paper copy hasn’t yet made it to the families. They are proceeding with CA requests on that basis.
Crossing our fingers that we will be able to squeak in before CNY. BTW, we have 8 families in our group.
January 11th, 2007 at 11:39 pm
We got our referral Nov 30th, TA’s Jan 8th and we are now waiting for our CA. Our small agency thinks it will come tomorrow or soon after, they said to start applying for our visas. So, we went to the Chinese Consulate up in LA to apply, took us an hour, no traffic, to get there and the wait was all but 5 minutes (normally 2 hrs). Our visas will be ready Tues, hope it goes as smoothly. We could be traveling Jan 19th or 20th! It’s getting real!
January 12th, 2007 at 12:17 pm
Well, my agency thought we would be able to get a CA at the beginning of February, but now they say the earliest available appointment is February 12! They could have squeezed us in at the end of January, but we just can’t leave that soon. For some reason, there are NO APPOINTMENTS available between Jan 31 and Feb 12. We are waiting for confirmation for Feb 12. Ugh – more waiting. Ahhhhh…
January 12th, 2007 at 4:56 pm
We received our referral Nov. 30, paperwork all sent back to China Dec. 4th via express mail. Our agency was told by their Chinese liaison in Bejing that ourTA’s were sent last Friday, January 5th. We are still waiting…we really thought they would be here by now. Everyone hang in there!
January 14th, 2007 at 6:04 am
We received our referral on Nov 30th, got our TA on January 8th and we are currently in China, waiting to get our daughter, tomorrow morning. We are very excited. Good luck to everybody still waiting for a referral, a TA or CA.
Now signing off for a while from RQ site but thank you so much RQ for all your work…
