Another agency confirms

R4Another agency has confirmed that referrals were mailed Tuesday. I can now give this one an R4. If DHL is on schedule and customs doesn’t throw a wrench into things, most agencies will receive them tomorrow.

R3Things continue to look good for the 14th and bad for the 17th and I don’t really have a lot of information about the dates in between.

this is just unreal!!! i don’t know how to feel at this point… i feel unusually calm but i think once i see her face, that will all go away.. and the flood of tears will begin!!! this has been one of the most intense times of my life but to know she is possibly with the stork right now and will be landing tomorrow brings me SO MUCH JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haza! Can’t wait! Thanks for the good news.

    RQ,

Can you comment on “looking bad for the 17th”. Is that based on what you heard from last week or have you received more info over the last few days? Any info would be appreciated.

    Yeehaawwww!!

Hopefully ours is in this batch. . .we were skipped last batch!

jmlance - - -I know what you mean. When my agency called to say that our referral wasn’t in the batch like they thought it would be, I stayed calm, I didn’t want to get upset over something I had no control over. Then the next day when they called to say that the dossier was found at CCAA and would be put with the next batch, I sat down and cried my eyes out!

I posted a few days ago but I will say it again,,,,if your referral is skipped for what ever reason, don’t panic! Stay calm and let you agency do their job. Its hard to say but it worked for me. I stayed focused all day. If I had paniced and ran every scenerio of what may of happened thru my head, I would of made myself sick.

  15. jmlance Says:

jennifer, did you ever find out why your dossier was lost at the CCAA? or what happened to that situation??? my mind is totally playing games with me making me think things like “what if ours isn’t in this package???” which makes me sick to my stomach… after waiting this long ya know??? i’m such a nervous wreck! or if your agency ever gave you an explanation???? that must have seemed awful at the moment… any insight if you have it!!!!! :-)

  16. lauramac Says:

Congratulations to all the families about to receive their referrals in the next day or two. How exciting. My referral day is a long time away, but still, I am SO excited for you all in the next batch. I can’t wait to see some pictures!

  17. Phoebelin Says:

    Hey Y’all!
I just heard from someone at my agency saying they think Friday is more realistic. They said referrals were sent out Tuesday night and because of that it would most likely be Friday…what do y’all think? I’m still praying like crazy for tomorrow though. I’ve moved more furniture this week than my body can handle, one more day of this might just kill me!
My heart is set on tomorrow….but one more day of waiting is doable. I think.

  18. jmlance Says:

My agency also said Fri was more likely the day they will arrive… east coast though….. still hoping for tomorrow though, too….

  19. jennifergebhart Says:

jmlance, we were questioned in the review room for medical. by the time that the social worker wrote up the responce and got it back to the agency and then it got back to CCAA and filed with our dossier, the rest of the dossiers from our LID had already gone to the matching rooms and ours stayed in the review room. I’m not sure how often this happens when people are questioned, from what I understand when the person in the review room gets the answer sent back to them and the rest of the dossiers have been sent to matching room, they are to be sure it gets sent with the rest of the dossiers from that LID but I guess that part didn’t happen with ours.

As soon as I heard the news, I was ok. I decided that I wasn’t going to get upset until there was something to get upset about. I stayed calm and focused the entire day and put the it all into God’s hands and I was ok.
It sounds really weird but I actually had one of my best days
from the time that I didn’t know to the time that I found out what happened.

send me a personal message at jenng and I will explain to you how I stayed in focus.

  20. Promise Says:

Our agency is saying….. NOTHING. It is a tight lipped agency. According to them, they know nothing.

Thank you RQ for giving us this information.

I wish we knew the cut off. I’m already on my second soda today and I trying to quit.

How are we suppose to get any work done?

  21. jmlance Says:

  22. christina Says:

Question: When did CCAA update their site last month? Was it when they were mailed or after? Just trying to figure out when they will update or if they have stopped already.

So, so, so excited for all families waiting for referrals!

KCbock ~ I am so pulling for you for the 17th. I got your email (I’m the one who is your almost neighbor) but have been so busy I have not had time to respond. Please, please go to the 17th! 31. Magnolia's friend Says:

Rumorslave - last month the CCAA updated the box just before the referrals arrived. They updated it last month at the end of their working day (although in previous months it has been at other times in their working day). I think they timed it that way - they know when they left and they must know average delivery times. I seem to recall that this has been how they have done it the last couple of months (no more updating it as soon as the referrals go out their door).

I just had to share this with you all.

I’m sitting in my office TRYING to focus on work, and just a few minutes ago was sending an email to someone working with me on a direct mail program. What I meant to write was, “I thought that the fundraising solicitation letters dropped in December…”

Guess what I did write??? “I thought that the referrals dropped yesterday.”

TOO MANY REFERRAL THOUGHTS ON MY BRAIN!!!

Hope that gave you a laugh, just like Doberman0802’s did about cell phones not coming through a snow blower intact.

Nothing else I can share on the cut-off rumor, sorry. May be in “trouble” for sharing that much, but what the hay!! As far as the snow-blower that eats cell phones, I can laugh now because my DH isn’t home yet! ( at least now we can upgrade phones without guilt!) I have my cell near at hand whenever I am out of the house, like every other expectant mom out there. I didn’t realize how shallow my pocket was until I see this weird looking black object go shooting out the chute of the snow-blower and fall in the snow like a glistening black pearl. Hmm, what could that be? As I get closer, I recognize the screen from the phone, uh oh. The the key pad. And the battery. And the, hmm, what IS that piece?? So much for being prepared this week for the call. Guess I have to stay home now. What a fun day!! Now let’s go for that root canal someone suggested. Skip the anesthesia!

Have a great day all! Referrals are on their way!

  37. kalohr Says:

Crossing my fingers that 10/14 is included in this round! That brings us to a little over 4 weeks worth of dossiers to get through for our referral! Does anyone know about February referrals? Will there be a batch before CNY or right after? If so, that might put us at a March referral (here’s to hoping!). I’m still guessing we’ll be April but if there are referrals in February, that will help everyone. :)

Our agency just posted this: “We have learned that the CCAA mailed the next set of matches on Janaury 30, 2007. We anticipate receiving these matches in 2 to 4 business days.” They won’t speculate on dates till they get the package. So, let’s see, 2 business days is tomorrow, 3 is Friday. I just had to tell you, I get the reference. We have the book. My husband’s uncle is from the same small town as the author and got us an autographed copy. Little person silliness at it’s best. At one time, I know I had it memorized from reading it every night at bedtime.

  45. tripleH Says:

I have a question. If the referrals are in the air..YEAH to everyone!…I am assuming the CCAA knows the cutoff so why no change on their site. When do they normally do this…do they wait a few days until referrals are here in the U.S. and other countries. Anyone know?

  46. waitingfornaomi Says:

I’m right with you on that one Kathy. Tomorrow would be great, fri would be ok, but I don’t think I can make it through the weekend. We are having dinner on sat night with my DH’s family to celebrate my nephew’s birthday, and was hoping to be able to share some news about the new grandbaby/niece/cousin with the family too.

  47. catherinethegreat Says:

tripleH; I bet they will change the site tomorrow night (unless referals are expected to arrive tomorrow then perhaps they might do it tonight); they always like to wait until referrals have basically landed on the doors of the agencies before they post the cut-off date. This is also assuming that they are still going to change things at all!! My hope is that they wait until May 1rst before they change that process too.

  48. fosbank Says:

I think 2 will be enough! But, I’ve always thought that when the girls are older….potty trained! I would consider foster care. I know that takes a special committment, but maybe in about 5 years from now, I could take on that! :)
    We’ll see…

  93. adomom12 Says:

I don’t think I could do IA with this country again. The process has been too painful.

  94. waiting4_2nd Says:

How about the open adoption? I would imagine that could be difficult. You don’t have to open up about that if you don’t want to. I was always scared to adopt in the US, but maybe once I have my 2 girls that would work for me. I don’t really know, but I would love to take everyone in that needed a home!

  95. adomom12 Says:

Don’t get me wrong, the wait is worth the pain and my pain does not compare to the pain of having to abandon my child. But this process has definetly been an learning experience and a journey!

  96. adomom12 Says:

The OA has it’s ups and downs. It was really hard at first because the birthmom was just having the hardest time seperating (of course!) and was calling everyday wanting to see her. Our daughter was also drug exposed and going through withdrawl so she cried every moment she was awake. So, I was comfoting the birth mother and trying to comfort the baby and pretty much neither were consolable! Our daughter is 5 now and doing great! THe OA is much more manageable now with letters and pictures about 2x a year.

  97. waiting4_2nd Says:

I guess it’s just a different road, with a different type of learning experience. We are all destined to do something, and here we are in the middle of the night waiting for a website to change! :)

  98. adomom12 Says:

Are you on the west coast?

  99. adomom12 Says:

It is a good thing I am a social worker by trade! The agency I am working with now wants to hire me after the adoption is final to work from home for them part time or on a contract basis. I think it might be fun to do the fun side of social work insead of the tougher stuff. And I can say that I have walked in the shoes of the waiting adoptive parents!!!

  100. waiting4_2nd Says:

yes, and thinking I must be nuts to stay up this late! My DD will be up by no later then 7! :) We have to go out to lunch too, and I will be without a PC all day! This is crazy!

  101. adomom12 Says:

I was just thinking the same thing. I have to be at my daughters school in the morning to help out. (Her teacher just announced she is pregnant) So I fear I must sleep now without knowing. Thanks for chatting! Here’s to hoping!

  102. waiting4_2nd Says:

Wow, that’s great! My DH is considering a job just outside of denver, so if we move, maybe I could help with the paperwork or something…. Be a runner to the consulate1 :)

  103. adomom12 Says:

Denver is a great place to live. I LOVE it here.

  104. waiting4_2nd Says:

I’ll keep that in mind! I better head off to bed…I’ve given up on the CCAA! I’ll chat with you in the morning! :)

  105. adomom12 Says:

    good night!

Hi iseirinne and sarahjane. I’m another fellow 11-9-05 LIDer. I’ve been saying the end of March for referral for a long time now. I’ve been a little nervous lately- thinking it may be April and not March. BUT at least we can say our LID is almost less than one month away from the referred LID’s! Here’s hoping for a BIG batch this month- and soon!

  110. willowflower Says:
