Quiet

I can’t find anything new this morning.

If referrals are on the way it seems they are still expected to start arriving tomorrow.

    Good morning from South Carolina!

  2. glassmaker Says:

    Thanks for looking RQ!

  3. waitingmom Says:

This month has seemed to drag on forever. I hope that this batch gets through a big group and the referrals make it here quickly. With a 10/28 LID I know we will be on the cusp next month and the more they can get doen this month the better chance we have at getting included next month. This process has really made me see how difficult it is to have so little control over something.
And RQ I know we are all pulling for you to see your little ones face soon. Thank you for all the information that you share. :)

  4. Ellieskyesmommy Says:

    Good Morning From Orlando!

My stomach is in knots with this anticipation. I am not getting a referral but know the anxiety that comes with waiting for one. Keep busy today Sept 29-Mid October parents. Some activities for your day today:

    -Running a marathon
    -Shampooing your carpets
-Have root canal (elective of course)
-Organize the closets in your house
-Start addressing your 2007 holiday cards

Any more suggestions how how they can spend their day?

Sending you all a sunny smile!

You’re right. Last batch of referrals, the posting that they were arriving in Europe was timed at 7:15AM. So, if Europe is getting them today, I would think we would be hearing something by now. HMMMMM:(

    Hi Glassmaker,

Yes, I am wearing a turtleneck in 50 degree weather. Beach weather to some. Freezing to us. COLD! I cannot get my hand to warm up at all. I am living on coffee!

Where are you Glassmaker? We are near Dr. Phillips. Lots of us here. Our own little hamlet of the RQ kingdom!

  12. sarahjane Says:

here is how I am going to spend my day off…
    1) go to INS for fingerprinting
    2) meet a friend that is coming back from China at the airport….then come home and cry
    3) hang on to every rumor on the RQ and comizerate with the royal subjects…

    LID 11/9/2005

  13. glassmaker Says:

Jeanne - We are in the Waterford Lakes area. I’ve seen quite a few Floridians on RQ!

  14. tripleH Says:

ya’ll keep me laughing and that is good news since I still don’t have our log in date. Oh and I would love the cold snap here in the south if it came with some snow! I also have two hands but with braces on both of them I can’t get my gloves on and they are both freezing! Best wishes to everyone about to see their babies’ faces.

  15. sarahjane Says:

At our last FCC waiting families meeting we all asked each other who goes to the RQ site…Everyone knows about it most just watch it and do not respond…everyone loves it though. I agree…it has helped me with my anxieties as well as helped me with…knowledge is power…I am an official spokesperson on Chinese adoption at work…or at least I think so…thank RQ and her royal subjects for giving me the knowledge and strength and sanity

  16. babygrl Says:

Quiet is not good. But it is still early. Let’s hope the referrals arrived in Europe and everyone is out celebrating!
I am setting my heart on tomorrow…can’t help it, it’s been long enough!

  17. can't_sleep_at_all Says:

I’ve kept busy this month by doing early spring cleaning - closets, drawers, desks, bookshelves - anything that needs organized. I’ve also been busy filling my freezer with pre-prepped meals that can just be heated up after the baby arrives! Soup, meatballs, casseroles…

  18. RumorQueen Says:

I keep seeing people who think referrals should be arriving in Europe today, but I’ve not heard anything about that. Can ya’ll tell me why you think this?

I was expecting Europe to start getting calls early tomorrow and the U.S. to start getting calls later in the day tomorrow.

  19. sophie_mom Says:

RQ, I apologize if this has been discussed before, but doeEurope families get calls from their agencies the day that the agencies receive the referrals? Or do they get the call the next day?

My agency takes a day to translate before calling us.

  20. babydreamer Says:

Something to keep your mind off referrals today:
    1. buy a bag of 12 bean soup mix
    2. separate the beans by type into 12 piles
    3. remix
    4. repeat

  21. RumorQueen Says:

    sophie_mom

Some agencies call right away, others call the next day, others call a week or more later.

  22. dutchdeb Says:

    sophie_mom,

Here, in Holland, we only know if referrals has arrived and till what date. The ‘call’ (and foto) will come 2 or 3 weeks later. The agancy’s want to translate it first from Chinese to English, so they know for sure what the dossier is telling about the child. There were misunderstandings in the past.

Good afternoon from Ireland, lovely sunny day here!

No news here today, unfortunately. (2.30p.m.)

i’m in pins and needles in the waiting game, though the wait has been long so far:(
thank you to RQ! your predictions have been helping me in planning for the future and i’ll be glued on to this site
til the day comes that it is my turn to travel!

  28. cooperbabe Says:

flfamilyofsix - greetings from another FL person. Our LID is 12/19/06 :) We are settled in for the big wait but it is terribly exciting to see the anticipation of referrals!

I really, really hope they come soon. Not only is it exciting to share in other people’s excitement but it’s awesome to see the blogs where people show their child’s picture - helps keep us focused on yes, there is a light at the end of this tunnel.

Fingers crossed for referrals to hit very soon!

  29. waiting4emily Says:

    RQ,
I think people (myself included) are remembering last month that referrals arrived in Europe and on the West coast of the US in the same day. Then, the rest of the US didn’t start getting their calls until the next day. So, my fear is the same thing happening this time, and those of us east of California not hearing anything until Friday. That wouldn’t be bad, except my agency takes a day to translate so we might not get our call until Monday which would mean one more weekend of torture. That’s all wild speculation based on one month’s history, but I’d still be happier if there had been some news from Europe this morning. Hopefully we’ll just all get them on the same day, which has happened before, right? LID 9/29 and going nuts.

  30. mom222b Says:

    Briellesmom~

I am in a little town about 30 minutes east of Albany, New York.

  31. waitingagain Says:

    Hi sophie_mom

In Sweden its the same, about 2 weeks of wait for translation after you have your referrals in the U.S. How do you get your referrals translated? Do you have to do it “yourselves” by hireing a translator? Here, our organization get the chinese documents right away, and they claim they in that point doesn´t know which child belongs to which family, and then wait for the translation (which is made in China to English) and when the Enlish documents have arrived they make THE CALL. When we got our referral in Januari 2005 (the 12th) our organisation had the referrals before the 13th of December (we got a “translation letter” to know that we were about to get the referral within 2 weeks…). So, yes, we have to wait for the translations.

But, I think that it is good that everything is translated before we get the documents. It would be difficult not to be able to read about the child.

  32. mclark35 Says:

    RQ
Not realistically expecting Europe to get referrals today, just that if they had, we would have probably heard early this morning. I am really thinking it will be tomorrow. I am really just hoping to hear that the referrals were DEFINITELY-like an R5-mailed.

  33. drandall34 Says:

I spoke with my agency late last week and when I mentioned that “everyone” was on pins and needles about the next batch of referrals (the “when” & “how far” will they go), the gal I was talking with said, “Yeah, we used to hear so much more. The CCAA doesn’t tell us anything anymore. They got fed up with all the rumors and people knowing things before they were ’supposed to’. Now we don’t get much more information than anyone else.”

This agency is a conservative, large, china-only agency. She DID seem to think that we would be in the batch after this one. ???

    Here’s hoping!

  34. waitingagain Says:

    Hi sophie_mom

I´m trying to write again, the other post just disappeared!

Here in Sweden we also wait about 2-3 weeks before getting the referral, after you in the U.S. have yours. The translation (for our organization) is made in China, and the CCAA send the Chinese referrals to Sweden, but our organization waits until the translation has come before making the CALL.

  39. RumorQueen Says:

Last month referrals were mailed before New Year’s Eve from China, IIRC. DHL’s schedule was apparently a bit off kilter as they shut down for the holiday and then cranked back up, and we did see referrals arriving in an odd fashion.

Most of the time Europe is only 6 to 8 hours ahead of the U.S. on receiving them, not a day ahead.

  57. Kimber Says:

Another way to pass the time… For the past nine years, I have hosted a “girls only” Oscar party. We wear our pajamas and eat and drink and gossip about all the celebrity break-ups and clothes. It is so fun! Acquaintances have started lobbying to be invited. I have silly awards and trivia contests etc. I am working on the invitations today so I thought I’d suggest that to others. They are 2/25 this year so I figure it will also help pass the time while waiting for TA. I’ll have to plan the menu, find the prizes, get everything ready…

Anyway…it is more fun than the root canal or the marathon. Albeit I did get a great laugh from those suggestions Ellie sykes mommy:)

LID 9/29 - TIME TO SEE OUR GIRL!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely thrilled for all of you who are waiting for your referalls today. What a nail biter! Our LID is 10/25, so we’re so close but short of a miracle we’ve got to wait another round.

We’re pretty sure we won’t be included this month, but we are rejoicing for all of you who will finally be matched with the babies you have been waiting and praying for. I know that the next time referals are in the air, we won’t see a moment’s sleep! So all of you try to get some rest tonite if you can!
