Im sad the 17th is not in (we are 10-17) but we are up next for sure and that is a nice place to be. Our China coordinator confirmed we did not get our referral in this batch so it is official, but I am so happy for all of you who are getting your babies pics today. Please post ASAP!!!

We just got an e-mail from our China-only agency saying that the referrals (39= 36 girls and 3 boys) are in and that they will call and send a picture sometime today.
These last few hours will go very slowly.

There appear to be LID for the 15 and 16, CCAA often works weekends around holidays, such as early OCT.

Actually, the 15th and 16th are weekends so the 14th is a Friday.

In the last section in the comments the RQ mentioned that some people showed LID’s for those dates so maybe the CCAA worked then but some people also showed LID’s for the first week of Oct. and the CCAA was closed so I’m not sure what is up with the one or two LID’s that show up on weekends on the surveys. I’d feel better thinking it was UP TO and INCLUDING the 16th but it’s more of a psychological reasoning than a logical one. We’re 11/11 and with a cut off of 10/14 (or 10/13) that puts us right on the cusp of getting a referral in two months. Not that in the big scheme of things it matters and knowing for sure you’re next is a great place to be (we were that way with the first adoption too – just missed the cut off by THAT much!) but it sure would be nice to look forward to a referral sooner rather than later.
Congrats to all those getting the call. I can’t wait to see their pictures and live vicariously through you until I have one of my own to show off!! :)

Our large china only has reported receiving referrals for families whose dossiers were registered on October 10 and 11. Doesn’t mean other agencies havn’t moved past that date.

We have a daughter!!!! Chun Jiangai from Anhui province bor 3/20/2006. No pics yet! Something special is that she was born on my fatherinlaw’s birthday. He passed away 6 years ago so I know he must have been watching over the process! Can anyone tell me what her first name means??

Just got off the phone with my agency. She confirmed we did not make the cut off.
At least the anxiety is over and we can start planning for the next batch.

I want to say Congratulations!!!! It must be a grewat feeling for those you recieving your referal! Today you know who your baby is!!!! Yay!!
For the rest of us- we move forward in the line. Which is big too- It’s to hard to say in the same place for to long.

Glassmaker- Congratulations!!! I’m not an expert in Mandarian but I believe you need the actual characters to know the true meaning of your daughter’s name.

Waiting4maya, and all the 10/14 folks, I am so sorry. There is nothing I can say, I know that will make this better. yes you know you are next. I have a feeling that ya’ll will be saying the same thing to me next month…cuz I am so unsure if we’ll make it. But god – we are finally into October – and this is fantastic. I am so happy for my fellow October group – and also for RQ and the end of Sept. people.

I hope I’m not misleading you, but I feel 100% sure that your daughter is from Dianjiang, Chongqing, where my younger daughter is from, not Anhui. I suspected it from her name, and then looked at your daughter’s picture on your website (she’s gorgeous, by the way!) and saw the familiar “flower chair” from Diangjiang.
The babies at Diangjiang all have the last name Jiang (”river”), and the babies being referred from there right now all of the generational name Ai (I don’t know what it means as I haven’t seen the character). If your daughter is from there, then her name is Jiang AiChun, not Jiangai Chun. I can’t tell you the meaning of Chun without seeing the character, but it often means “spring” with girls. If so, then your daughter’s first name means something-spring.
Dianjiang SWI is relatively well funded, and the children there receive excellent care. If I’m right, then there’s an active yahoo group that you can join, and you’ll want to see the photo site – I posted pictures of every baby I saw there when I visited in April, 2006.

glassmaker and aino – I would love to talk with both or either of you. Our referral came today, and our daughters (me and glassmaker) are from the same place. Our daughter is Jiang Ai Wu – we were told Ai means love. Wu means endless bundle. We are referring to her as our endless bundle of love. She is also in the Dianjiang SWI. I too am planning on joining the yahoo group – if I have the right one. If you don’t mind, would you e-mail that info. Thanks for the info I gleamed through both of you.
