New Poll

I’ve put up a new poll. It is for those with a LID between October 25, 2005 and December 23, 2005. This poll is not for those with 2006 LID’s, only for those with 2005 LID’s.

Wooohooooo!!!!! I am so excited to have this poll here – now 2 polls where I get to vote!

    Welcome back, RQ! theme song?

  2. Sherry in Vermont Says:

Huh. For some reason it didn’t post the whole thing.

The whole sentence asked if anyone else heard the Welcome Back, Kotter theme song in their head, what with all the “welcome backs” everywhere. :)

RQ being back and this poll have made my whole WEEK!

  3. catherinethegreat Says:

Thanks RQ… this will really help us all try to figure things out.
I will really appreciate this. I know you have heard this a 1000x; but thanks again…

  4. ellen Says:

Thanks for the poll. I couldn’t do the one on the forum because I wasn’t registerd. Much more meaningful to have one that we can ALL update!! Let’s see those stats!!

  5. 3kids2dogs1hubnME Says:

With a 12/05 LID, It is so good to finally be able to “vote” and be included!! Barely made it in to vote, but what a great feeling!!

  9. waitingforkateybug Says:

I’m so sad. I have a 12/27/05 LID and I’m not on the chart yet. I hope this is not indicative of things to come!!! :)

  10. waitingforlilygrace Says:

Thank you so much, RQ! I could not wait for my turn to vote! It has made my whole week just to be included!

  15. maisey13 Says:

Wht about the rest of December LID’s??? Our LID is DEC 26 and I can’t vote in the poll. Any reason???

  16. maisey13 Says:

Why are LID’s after 12/23 not included? We are 12/26 and would like to be included in the poll! Thanks!

  17. maisey13 Says:

Ooops! Sorry for the double post! I didn’t see the first one actually posted, so I tried again. Sorry!

  18. vtmama Says:

RQ home. New folks on forum. Polls with new data. Happy sigh. Welcome home.

  19. hgmom Says:

RQ Thanks for all you do and thanks for the new poll. Love to see where we stand. :)

  20. lieblingk Says:

wouldn’t it be great if refferals came out in the order of the columns of the poll :) you know it would be ok with me

  21. firewens Says:

    I’m a 12/27 LID and I feel left out too! :o)~
I also hope that’s not indicative of things to come.

  22. RumorQueen Says:

Oh come ON. Ya’ll are bitching that the poll didn’t go far enough? Seriously?

I get 20 votes per poll, and I put three polls up at a time. I did four once and it was just too much. Three polls gives us 60 votes, or 60 days, and we start with the day after the last cut off. It’s nothing personal, it’s just the way it works out.

At 15 days referred per month, 60 days gives us at least 4 months worth of predictions. At 11 days per month, it gives us 5 and a half months of predictions. And as I’ve said a million times, I’m pretty good at predicting this month within a few days and getting semi-close to next month, but anything beyond that is a crap shoot. There is no need for us to have more than four months worth of prediction tools.

Sorry if I sound a bit irritated, but I have a lot going on right now and this just hit me wrong.

  23. catherinethegreat Says:

RQ; don’t worry about it. We ALL appreciate that you are doing this and we know you are ++ busy. I think it just gives people such a psychological boost to make your polls; thats why they are asking.. It feels almost like a right of passage in the adoption process..make an RQ poll and you are getting closer… Not saying you should doing anything different, just thought I would explain for them…So please don’t worry about it… I am so happy that you are just doing what you are doing… Thanks again. You do FAB job!!

  24. akina Says:

Thanks for the poll. I think it will tell us a lot. My family and I really appreciate all that you do.

    -akina
3/29 (no year yet, but soon)

Speaking of which, I am celebrating my 1 year anniversary by donating my hair (for the 4th time) and giving blood (too many times to count). Hoping this will give my some good luck.

  25. bbrock7 Says:

Welcome back RQ. I know you must be very stressed. I can’t imagine packing up for 3 weeks right after receiving the referral that you’ve waited way too long for in the first place. You have a right to be touchy. I totally understand. Take a deep breath. Enjoy every minute of planning for your new daughter (or son?).

  26. sarahjane Says:

My small agency is telling us that we will be getting our referral in May. I am not shocked nor surprised. I was hoping for march last fall, this is still good. I do worry we were pulled for a medical clarification…nail biting moments..we have a LID of 11/9/05

  27. waiting2bmommy Says:

Yes, everyone, please give RQ a break! It is incredibly nice of her to even do a poll in the first place, considering all that she has going on in her life right now! Everyone feels the stress. and wants to see their LID on the poll list, and that is totally understandable. But please realize RQ knows what is best for the purpose of predictions. Please give her a break.

  28. papa2b Says:

Thanks RQ, I missed you! We appreciate everything you have done. I do not know how I could have survuved these last 16 to 17 months of waitiing.

    LID 11/9/05

  29. WaitingforTaya Says:

I very rarely post, but it doesn’t mean I don’t rely heavily on you, RQ for info and feedback on a daily basis. Your site has kept me sane through the journey with not only predictions (which are usually right on the money) but also good info about the whole process. Thanks for all you do. It does continually amaze me that it’s never enough for some, but keep your head up and accept a HUGE pat on the back from most of us who appreciate your tireless effort and devotion not only to the site but the reason we are all here — the children. Thanks again and blessings to you and your family as your journey to China approaches.

  30. waiting in Texas Says:

I can’t wait til I can vote in the polls!! Just maybe once we get through the Nov LIDs we can set the polls up to include all of Dec, Jan and Feb since we keep hearing they are smaller months. It would be nice once we get to those months to look at the whole month in the poll.

  31. Firsttimemom Says:

Thanks RQ for taking the time to do this for all of us!

I just checked the results and even though the poll has only been running for about a day, it does look like the numbers decrease significantly as you move forward through each block of time. This seems consistant with what we’ve been thinking all along, that the end of October/early November is HUGE and that December starts to ease up.

Ah-h-h a glimmer of hope from my usually pessimistic self.

  32. tlday13 Says:

Ah, RQ… we didn’t mean to add to your stress, especially when this whole blog is a work of love! Its like catherinethegreat said…its just such a psychological boost to even make the poll! ;)

of course, I can see not projecting too far out for accuracy.

  33. ladybuginnebraska Says:

RQ, Thank you for putting this poll up for all of us to read
My Dh and I cant believe we have only 25 LIDS ahead of
our’s. When I stumbled accross your amazing site this
time last year. I would never dream today we would be
so close at the time they were only referring a handful
a days a month. My point is, hang in there everyone
your day will come and SOONER than you think.

RQ, I cant even tell you what a impact you have had
on our adoption journey. But I want to thank you from
    the bottom of my HEART!!!

  34. catherinethegreat Says:

    Hi RQ,
I agree with firsttimemom; the beginning part of November/last part of October looks the heaviest. I hope everyone votes on this poll…Thanks again for all you do. We all appreciate it.

  35. firewens Says:

Sorry! I don’t think we intended to sound like we were bitching about not being included. I think probably most of us were half joking. And I think many of us are stressed out. I know I am. I think a lot of us that are LID at the end of December feel like we are still forever away from a referral. Not seeing our dates on the poll seemed to just make that more of a reality. Which in turn stresses us out.

I’m sorry if we sounded like we were bitching. I’m sorry that you are stressed out. I’m sorry that I’m stressed out. I’m sorry that we are all stressed out. I wish things were a little easier for everyone.

  36. maisey13 Says:

    RQ

I wasn’t “bitching”, I was asking for clarification. I didn’t realize your were limiting yourself to 20 dates per poll…all I saw was that the last 7 days were missing from December and so I asked the question “why?”. I didn’t think you would want me to vote on the wrong LID day simply because my date wasn’t available, so I just wanted to know what was up. No big deal.

  37. RumorQueen Says:

I’m not limiting myself to 20 votes per poll, that’s the limitations of the software. Again, it’s nothing personal, it’s just the way it works out.

  38. Chinablue Says:

First time poster here! I’m so excited to finally get to vote in an “official RQ Poll” that I had to post as well :) (My LID is 11-30-05). THANK YOU, RQ, for all you’ve done and continue to do with this site… it’s been my “lifeline” for this past (LONG) year. Come to think of it now, I think maybe I did vote in one poll way back last summer when RQ did an “extended” poll, but that was so long ago and my LID was so far off that it just didn’t mean much (to me) back then… This time it’s different! Thanks again to RQ, the recent moderators, and all who share on this site – it’s been very helpful. Now, here’s to a nice surprise and a “bigger, better” Referral batch in April!

    Chinablue
    LID 11-30-05

  39. PinkPunch Says:

Holy cow there are a lot of people at the end of October! Sheesh. With a 11/5/05 LID I can see why we aren’t likely to make the April cut.

TY RQ, this is always interesting to see.

    Pinkpunch

  40. strawberry Says:

long time looker :) ..wow the end of october is bigger than I thought and that makes me worry.. even with an 10/31 LID

  41. neatokimmo Says:

    Wow!

I’m feel like the pessimist in our local group when I say we’ll get our referrals in June. They might hunt me down if I hint that it might be August like the numbers are leaning towards. My LID is 12-05 – anyone else see August for us?

    Welcome back RQ!

  42. catherinethegreat Says:

neatokimmo. I don’t think you should try to convince your group of any set day for referrals. Ask them to look at RQ’s polls and let them come to their own conclusions…All I can say is that the polls have helped me have some sense of the ‘when of my referral’..and although at times I have been sad about it, at least I have had some heads up on how to deal with it…. Anywhere between July-September seems reasonable with your LID to me…but thats just my own opinion….so to me August seems like a really good estimate (and hopefully beginning of August)…but then again who really knows for sure…November could take more than three months……end of October; beginning of November are fairly with LID’s. Hang in there…. I know how it feels… as I head towards my 16th month anniversary, I keep telling myself only a few more months of waiting….For sure it will be a minimum of 18 months to wait…..we are getting closer…
Tell you friends to vote in the poll… I sincerely believe the more people who vote (and only once please) the better the accuracy to figure out the LID cut-off dates….

  43. LostInDespair Says:

Pinkpunch, you took the words right out of my mouth, but I gotta say it too; “Holy cow, look at the end of October!”

  44. snickerdoodle Says:

  45. CWS Says:

Hey, Chinablue, another 11/30/05 LID here. I agree, this has been one longgggg year, and this site has been a godsend. Would have lost my mind by now had I not had this source of rumors, info. and support. I finally feel as though we’re at least on the home stretch and have made my peace with probably getting a referral in July. Of course if it comes earlier, that would be good, too. :o)

  46. meg91 Says:

RQ~ Welcome back! I think I can speak for most of us here when I say that we were all rabidly checking your site everyday, eager for your return. ;)

    PinkPunch~ I noticed that too… Not good. :(

    Meg

  47. grover Says:

Neatokimmo, I’m a 12/5/05 LID and I agree with you. It’s looking like August for us. 2 steps forward and 1 step back, but I know we will get there.

  48. wait4hannah Says:

We have a 12/20/05 LID and I am really starting to think end of Aug. early Sept for us. It’s hard to accept, really hard to accept, but if I have waited this long, I can wait 4-5 more months – at least I think I can :)

You would think the wait would seem to be decreasing for us 12/05′ers, but it just seems to me that it keeps drawing out even further.

  49. jryle0514 Says:

Keep the faith ladies! We need to remain optimisitc!!!

  50. rose Says:

I’ve been reading this blog for many months now…rarely post. We are LID 11/4/05. Anyone else out there with the same LID? I was thinking we would receive our referral in April, but now maybe not. China would need to complete 11 days to include 11/4/05 families. Seems reasonable, but RQ’s most recent predictions report this only as best case scenario. I’m sad about this (even though it would only mean waiting one more month). I would love to hear from anyone from other agencies, since ours keeps pretty quiet.

  51. rose Says:

I have been reading this blog for many months, but rarely post. We are LID 11/4/05. Anyone else with same LID??
I’m sad that we may not get in the next referral group. Anyone with same LID whose agency has given them a prediction? Ours keeps quiet. I know it’s only an extra month, but I’m losing hope that this will ever happen. Trying to hang in there.

  52. Bakers5 Says:

RQ, Welcome back. We really appreciate you! It is such a help to have a place to get an idea about what is/might be happening. Your site takes a lot of stress out of this wait. Thank you, again. Enjoy your trip. We are LID 12/05.

  53. QUEBEC Says:

Hi, hope and wish that CCAA will surprise everybody and start to move and give referrals… I really do believe that the childrens are waiting for us but because 2006 was a year for the move of the CCAA office, the setting up of the new policies and year of training in every orphenage everything was slowed down. Sending positive energy to China …..

  54. LinPatton3 Says:

    Love having the Blogg back….

All is well in the world once again!

Can’t wait until 2006 months can be included….

    ~Linda
    RQ Welcome back!

  55. adasinchina Says:

I should probably keep my mouth shut, but this just “hit me the wrong way”…
Has anyone considered lately that “RQ”, whoever she may be, is a HUMAN???!!! She’s not a mystical being, a mindreader, and not even royalty (as far as I know).
I have been a “member” of this site since before our dossier was logged in (LID 07/22/06), and it continually amazes me that this woman is made out to be a superhuman of some sort…and more than likely has the ego to go with it. This woman has reached celebrity status…she can’t even tell you that she got her referral, or share her news with you for fear of being “revealed”. ??????
At first, I was like a lot of you. I bookmarked this page and checked it religiously. Then I wisened up a little.
The more I came back, the more I realized that this is like some sort of brainless cult following. I guess out of desperation??
I understand that most of it is done in “fun” or as something to take up time during this long wait, but it just seems to have gone WAY too far to me.
It’s not too hard to crunch the numbers. Take the average number of days referred, add that, and VOILA! You too can “predict” when your referral will be. And you can do it without being a bunch of sheeples! Imagine that.
Here’s what it boils down to…NOone knows what the CCAA will do next. Not you, not your agency, and certainly (imagine that) not your “Queen”.
And to have the audacity to go off on someone because they question her highnesses methods???
    Amazing.

  56. Sumay Says:

Someone had to say it and I am glad that you did since I noticed the same pattern here.
Yes, RQ has a rumor blog. Yes, she is good at what she does and…. yes, she IS human, not a queen per se and not a celebrity. I wish everyone would keep this in mind before starting to overdo it with the super high praises and speculations as to who she is, where she is etc.
    Just my 2 cents.

  57. RumorQueen Says:

Wow, if some of you dislike this sight so much I have to wonder why it is that you are here.

  58. mlschot Says:

sheeples? did I not get the newsflash about a new genetic species?

  59. Sumay Says:

Obviously you misunderstood my point. I did not say I disliked the site. I said that some of the regular members of this site view you not as a normal person like all of us but more as someone who should be highly admired and revered – A real life queen which you obviously are not. I hope this makes more sense now.

  60. inthepink Says:

    Adasinchina and Sumay, go away

    Just my 2 cents

  61. RumorQueen Says:

Yeah, I’m just a waiting mom with a spreadsheet addiction trying to make sense of things.

But rule number one on the site is Be Nice. That means being nice to each other, not cutting each other down.

  62. Sumay Says:

This I understand and can do. I did not point fingers at anyone specific and it was a general statement. I will, however, refrain from expressing any negative opinions in the future.
Overall, I want you to know that I do appreciate your hard work and dedication to this site just like everyone else who visits the site daily and thank you for making our wait easier. :-)

  63. doihear3 Says:

My parents always taught us to “say nothing at all, if you didn’t have anything nice to say!”

I for one find the RQ site more informative than what I get from my agency (which I pay very dearly for!!)

We all know that she is a woman waiting to be united with her child, just like the rest of us and that NO of course she is not super human. But I have to appreciate what she does!! She is at that point in the game where she could say to heck with y’all (and I’m from NE and don’t say Y’All) and stop everything. But she hasn’t done that.

Yes, maybe you can crunch your own numbers, predict what your referral date will be based on past performance, but where would you get the stats, and numbers??? She provides a common place for people to share information, and for that I am grateful.

Please, if you don’t have something nice to say……say nothing at all. Silence is golden.

    Mauzzie
12-12-05 and happy to have a place to go to for any kind of information. If I waited for info from my agency, I would still be in the dark!

  64. ashley2007 Says:

    Adasinchina and Sumay-
Wow, I can’t believe how blantantly rude you two are. If you have a problem with the RQ why do you bother checking in on her site. Is it slam her? This is how it is appearing. Maybe you two should move on with your lives and leave RQ alone to do what she does and many, many people appreciate.
    Ashley

  65. ashley2007 Says:

I posted awhile ago and it hasn’t shown up so sorry if is a duplicate. The above comments are so rude. If you feel this way why chose to be a part of this site? Move on instead of bringing others down. RQ definitely doesn’t deserve having people slam her. There are many, many people who appreciate all she does, as you have noticed.
    Ashley

  66. adomom12 Says:

    RQ you ROCK!!!

If it was not for your I would be a lost soul still crying in the silent dry desert of international adoption looking for some water. Your predictions and rumor ratings have seen many of us through very dark days. And, it is OK that your focus is now taking a new direction! You are blessed with the next part of your journey and you owe us nothing. I am grateful for what you have given to me so far and will always be grateful. This site is a beacon of hope in a very silent process. Thank you for all you do and may your time in China be filled with with amazing blessings and joy!!!

    Adomom12

  67. SuzyQ Says:

We certainly do not worship our queen, and yes, we know she is human-as my kids would say DUH! However, RQ provides us with accurate analysis and information, time and time again. And she does this on her own time, squeezing it in through the regular hustle and bustle of everyday living. I only find time to check this site a couple of times a day. And I am so glad to have place to come to, where we can sort out fact from fiction and have a little fun and camaraderie along the way. Seriuosly-I don’t understand why people come here if it offends them so much. No one is holding you hostage and forcing you to log on to this site. So don’t.

  68. waiting2bmommy Says:

Well said, SuzyQ! We ALL know that RQ is just like us. But we also know that she has given us this one place to come to that we can talk and share this long process together. Many of us don’t know anyone else in their lives who are adopting. I am fortunate that I do, but others don’t. RQ gives us this site, by her own doing, so that everyone has a place to come to relate with others who are all going through the same thing. It has been so wonderful to have this site. I know for me it has kept me sane. And I for one would not be able to do the analysis as well as RQ has done for us. It really has helped tremendously. This site gives fact, prediction, fun and most of all HOPE! Those that don’t appreciate that should just find something else to read.

  69. adomom12 Says:

    adasinchina,

I think your statement speaks more to your level (or lack there of) to filter “cult” following from a supportive community of mother and fathers who ache to meet their daughters. I agree with the RQ and many other in there questions of “why look” if that is how you feel? As a fellow Christian (I read your site) I think you should not judge lest you be judged! Take the plank from your eye before noticing the speck in somone elses!

    Adomom12

  70. bornfromtheheart Says:

Adasinchina, you have your own blog and your own place to vent. Leave RQ well alone, if this site offends you.
As for RQ not revealing herself? That is her choice and most if not nearly all of us here respect that. I too like to remain anonymous and I too will not be revealing to the world my referral. My choice.
Noone has ever said she is a higher being, nor did they at any stage give her a non humanised status. But if you are afraid we might all “worship” the ground she TYPES on… you have reason to. That why she has thousands of followers and regulars that check in up to 10 x a day if not more, and lots of responses on her blog.
Obviously your agency is not providing you with the information you require, why else check in here?

  71. eastandwest Says:

“Sheeple is a term of disparagement, a portmanteau created by combining the words “sheep” and “people”; a reference to herd mentality. It is often used to denote persons who acquiesce to authority, and thus undermine their own human individuality. The implication of sheeple is that as a collective, people believe whatever they are told, without processing it to be sure that it is an accurate representation of the real world around them. The term is generally used in a political or religious sense.”

  73. threebluesteps Says:

Poster “adasinchina” did get nasty in a personal way (the comment about the blog owner “certainly having the ego to go with it”): pointless and unnecessary abuse.

Poster “sumay”, though, tried to address the *idea* being raised, without personal nastiness, and was attacked, which is too bad. People need to be able to raise ideas, even unpopular ones (like a far-off referral date; who hasn’t been attacked for dishing out the truth to a happily uninformed waiting parent). What I mean here: don’t shoot the messenger.

I see what sumay’s getting at, and so do lots of other readers who enjoy and use and appreciate this site… the plain obvious fact is, some people respond differently than others to the idea of leaders or authority figures (in this case RQ). Some look up to, feel a real bond with, need/want to emotionally connect to, are in genuine awe of, admire etc. leadership figures in general, or certain leaders in particular. Others don’t. Some would see the former as an example of “sheeple”; others might see it as an example of being human. We’re funny creatures, humans; we react in all sorts of ways to things.

But we at least can show basic respect (awe-full or awe-free) for the site owner/organizer. Sheeeeeesh. (Can you tell it’s midway between referrals?)

  74. shatfiel Says:

Oh my, can we please just start another discussion? I vote we close this one and start anew. We’re all under a lot of stress waiting, but this is senseless. We’re all on this “slow boat to China,” so can’t we all just get along?

    I am with threebluesteps…well said…

I don’t agree with Sumay or adasinchina at all, but I think we can all at least show some courtesy to the owner of this blog (RQ) and to each other…just my 2 cents.

I agree with threebluesteps. It is midway referrals and everyone is on edge. Precisely why we need RQ for a little dose of information when we’re not getting it anywhere else.

Apologizing for the way I said things…and for my negativity. PMS raging. Sorry.
I do still feel that some of you guys take this site WAY to seriously. I do visit this site on occasion, out of mere curiousity. I do not, however, rely solely on RQ to predict when my referral will be here.
I stand corrected and apologize, again, for my harsh words.
As far as what I said about her remaining anonymous, I’m not judging her for that. That is her personal choice, and I don’t blame her at ALL for that. I would do it too. I just think it’s sad that she feels that she has to do that because of the hype this blog has created.

As far as the “Christian” remark…everyone makes mistakes and says thing they regret. Even in type. I hope that RQ accepts my apologies, and I will leave it at that.

Well for once it is not I who is causing an uproar on the site…

You know…I look at like this…Here is this woman…who has a family…is waiting on her child…apparently has a pretty important job…and lord only know what other activities are going on her life…and she takes the time to do the following:
Make sense of the numbers quickly so that we can spend more time with our families and doing our activities…so that we can just “pop” on the site and pop right back off…she provides a way of weeding out some bad rumors and letting us know the best of the information she can…that NONE OF US would have otherwise…at least not me…my agency says nothing! She provides an environment where we can build relationships with others and gain useful information through others experiences….a place where we can disagree and question..as long as we do it respectfully…a place where she does poll things so we can SEE how things add up instead of just getting information….
She gives us a place that where otherwise we would all be going mad and totally and completly lost and frustrated!!!! She cares enough that in her absense she brings on the Mods to help monitor things so that we don’t do without this powerful resource for even a second….
She makes sure that all the new babies get their air time with their families bloggs…and make sure that we are all in our little LID groups….
She keeps us grounded and helps us to pass the time…
AND IT IS FREE FOR US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Ok she is not a queen….she is not “super woman” with super natural powers….
But she is amazing…and extremly thoughtful to give so much of herself to all of us everyday….
And just because we do have “fun” with calling her the queen and we do carry on about her like she is something more than human…is because the only way we can really show our appreciation is to banter with that kind of fun….to let her know we are so extremly grateful!!!!!!!!!!!

Now the wait has been tough on everyone….and we all have our moments…..and I think you guys were more attacking us the subscribers than RQ herself….which is fine by me…call me any kind of sheeper or whatever….

We’ve got pony’s and pigs flying around…why not some sheep as well!

RQ…not that you ever need anyone to back you up….but its the least I can do….

    Long Live the Queen!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m a new MOM! YEA! We have been home from China almost 3 months. I have to admit, I don’t have much time for checking the RQ site these days… We have a very busy and TERRIFIC 19 month old gorgegous daughter!!!!

But, prior to our referral and heading to China, I found (as well as DH) comfort in the “community” that RQ has established. Prior to finding RQ, I was totally in the dark. My agency was great, but no news of any significance… So, I found comfort with others who were feeling and going through the same ups and downs that we were facing. Sure some times the news was not what we wanted to hear…but you don’t shoot the messenger.

I believe that it’s so important in this journey…international adoption…to have a great support system. I’ve never been in a cult, but if this is considered to be one… I feel I’m in very good company…mother’s and father’s who are working each day to bring their children home from a far away land…or like me, have recently come home and still enjoy the comfort and support of this community.

Warmest wishes to you RQ and to your family! Safe travels to China and savor every moment.

I truly appreciate all the time and energy you have put into this site and thank you for establishing this community!
