Everything seems to be "delayed" in the CCAA world. Nothing is coming early .... or even on-time anymore. Even SN TAs seem to be taking more time. At the beginning of 2006 they were running 50-75 days. Now the norm is 100-160. Although, I am sure with NSN referrals taking longer, more and more people are switvhing over to SN and this probably bogs down the program slightly. I just wish things could go in a more timely manner. But who doesn't?

I'm not talking about questions in the review room. I'm talking about a family (or their agency) delaying their referral. Reasons for this include a new baby just before a family is due a referral, or a medical crisis where the family needs some time before referral.

In the past when a family went off hold they usually got a referral within a month or two. That appears to have changed.

Calamity4e, I think you are describing what is called "questioning in review". "On hold" is what kmh said. It happens at time of referral. For example, if I were to become pregnant and give birth while waiting for a referral, CCAA would put us on hold until the newest child was one year old. Medical, family, travel or job reasons would be why a family and/or CCAA would do this.

Hi,

I think the situation to which RQ is referring is when the CCAA puts your dossier on hold because either they want some clarifying information about something (health situation etc) or some part of your dossier is incomplete. This -- going on hold would not occur until your dossier is being reviewed which appears to be taking ~ 1 year to get to that point.

In the past when this has happened the dossier was usually put back in with it LID group or maybe the LID one month later. Now it sounds like some folks are being placed in whichever LID is current-- i.e a year later.

Pretty scary!!!

Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

ellabee and chikensoupforchina - my understanding is that a family may choose to put their dossier on hold if they wish to delay their referral - perhaps due to a new baby or a medical crisis in their family.

I'm also a little confused. Do you mean a voluntary on hold? Or your dossier being pulled for new circumstances?
