There should be rumors
I had hoped to start seeing them yesterday or today.
Has anyone out there heard anything that might hint at a cut off date? Wanna share?

I agree RQ there should be rumors. The silence is deafening… Do you think the reason we have not heard any is that the CCAA are in North America…perhaps we have not heard any rumors because the person who does the signing off is here? I know there should be back-up people to sign off, but you never know….Hoping for sooner rather than later..
June 28th, 2007 at 8:06 am
I was thinking Monday that we should have started seeing rumors. It is so quiet. I remember many months ago that there were almost no rumors at all, then all of a sudden referrals arrived- I remember it being a shock and pleasant surprise to all. Come on rumors or come on referrals!!
June 28th, 2007 at 8:33 am
RQ, are there any trends to referrals being larger or smaller after the CCAA has one of these multi country visits?
June 28th, 2007 at 8:43 am
Hmmm, no rumors and CCAA officials are visiting the US.
Could it be that there are no rumors because folks left in the CCAA to match the babies do not want to risk sending out rosy rumors that fall short while CCAA reps are here?
This would increase the potential of frustrated waiting adoptive parents asking the CCAA reps pointed and potentially embarrasing questions about the rumors and the let down?
Perhaps the folks left working at the CCAA realize this and therefore choose to keep very quiet during the CCAA’s visit.
I’m still hoping that the lack of rumors will result in a windfall of referrals this month.
Rosy rumors= let down;
No rumors=windfall.
There is no logical reasoning to my madness. The wait is making me delusional.

I tend to agree with calamity4e…I think its probably why the agencies are keeping quiet too.. Would you risk sharing a rumor that your contact told you with families when the CCAA might be in the same city or state. The answer is a big NOPE!!! So I think it could be both those left in China and the agencies…can’t really blame them…but boy do I want to hear something soon…
June 28th, 2007 at 10:03 am
I keep thinking the same thing….where are all the rumors??? This seems strange to me, the first quiet month since I found RQ!
June 28th, 2007 at 10:20 am
I don’t have anything to share except I am in rumor-withdrawal! I am in misery with all this silence!
June 28th, 2007 at 10:21 am
Has anyone noticed that since there are no rumours we are less crazy this month? It never matters what the rumour, we usually discount it as being too far-fethced or unlikely, then we get sad because we were right, and the cut off date was much earlier than we would have liked.
Let’s just bask in the non craziness this month…There WILL be referrals this month…and, as usual lots of us will be disapointed, and we will continue on this maddening ride, because….what else are we going to do?
No news is good news…
June 28th, 2007 at 10:35 am
Patience, patience! As soon as there is a “rumor of a rumor” then we can start thinking about getting excited!
Drew
June 28th, 2007 at 10:36 am
I think we have no rumors due to the fact that CCAA hasn’t been in China. (You know what I mean!)
Or, the fact that we’ll be getting our referral this month and someone is trying to make us go crazy!
June 28th, 2007 at 10:40 am
Yes, we are less crazy. I feel that even though we discount the rosy rumors, you can’t go backwards and the rosy rumor still causes hope–and then it crashes and burns. I love rumors but I actually prefer the silence until closer to referral time. Those rosy ones which are followed by the devastating ones cause me just to go crazy. I much prefer to stay in one mode, albeit discouraged mode. This is not to say that I don’t love and appreciate what RQ does–but is just acknowledging that the rollercoaster can sometimes hurt. For this referral I’m happy for RQs rumors to hit R5 status a week to 10 days before the agencies acknowledge what’s happening.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:43 am
I agree, maybe no news is good news. From a practical side, with no rumors, there is no chance of being let down because a really good rumor ends up being wrong.
For me though, I would rather have a wrong rumor than no rumor at all. For a short time last month, it was fun to talk about what would happen if most of November was referred at once. I don’t think anyone believed that it was possible, but it was still fun to speculate.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:45 am
I too am in rumor withdrawal, but maybe “no news (or rumors) is good news (rumors)” and this month will surprise us with a big batch! One can only hope . . . come on referrals and/or rumors!

Last July we were all blown away when out of now where referrals started to show up. No one had any idea they were coming because there were no rumors. It was kind of nice to be surprised when the first person posted that they had received a call from their agency. I agree that no rumors is a windfall. Just wanted to wish everyone good luck and I hope the phone calls start coming!!!!
June 28th, 2007 at 10:50 am
I think the craziness is relative to where you are in the process. I can tell you that in the NOV LID room we are much MORE crazy this month with no rumors. The anxiety and stress levels are very high. We are so ready to hear something!
June 28th, 2007 at 10:54 am
Yes, whether there are rumors or not is relevant to where you are in the process.
Still a LID year away? No rumors can be good.
Not sure if you’ll make the cut and be in this month or next? Not having rumors at this stage can be tortuous.
June 28th, 2007 at 11:01 am
RQ,
Work that special juju voodoo you do, and dish the goss when it comes along, I kinda like not having it (rumor) but with a 11-16-05 LID, your right, its wicked just now for it to be sooooooo quiet. Maybe its a harbinger for something grand?

Nearest thing to a cutoff remour that I’ve heard recently concerns the September batch: several people with Nov 22 (big day) LIDs were told by their agencies to prepare for a referral in the early September batch. 22nd is so huge that this coiuld be a one-to three-day batch.
This fits with the 18th getting referral in August (not in this batch, as was just reported here on RQ blog).
For those who don’t read forum: if the CCAA matches the same % of Nov LID (NSN) dossiers as they did in the last batch, the cutoff will be Nov. 10th. (Fewer days but just as many dossiers). The same % next (August bnatch) would take us to a Nov 18t cutoff, and the same % again wouod take us to a Nov 22 or 23 cutoff in September–which fits what some people’s agencies are telling them directly.
I think the days of cutoff rumours are over, though it’s wonderful to have a single place to go for all kinds of China adopt/prep/post information. In some ways that info is even more important, anyway.
good luck to Nov 9 to 14-ers over this extra-long nail-biting weekend …
June 28th, 2007 at 12:25 pm
get me a ticket on the rollercoaster, RQ! i am ready for rumors, good or not so good. and i am still harboring that tiny hope that we might be in this batch. go 11/17!
June 28th, 2007 at 1:10 pm
threebluesteps: That’s exactly how I am thinking it will pan out too. Not so nice because I have a Nov 23 LID, which could mean I might be bumped into October’s referrals. After July’s referrals come out….I will be another 90 days away. Funny, I think I’ve said that before! Over and over and over. LOL
I’m hoping for some good news tomorrow for all of you who are next in line!
June 28th, 2007 at 2:08 pm
Best of luck November LIDs! I hope you get good news soon!
June 28th, 2007 at 2:20 pm
Sadly, folks around me are beginning to think I have lied about adopting from China. They always give me a “disbelief” glare when they ask “how much longer?”
June 28th, 2007 at 2:31 pm
I recall this time last month we didn’t have rumors at this point. I saw I note I wrote on June 1st saying I couldn’t believe there were no rumors yet so maybe it is still too early? Fish
June 28th, 2007 at 2:50 pm
I really have a strong feeling that we are just going to get a call out of the blue. I don’t like it that way, but hey…let’s just say that I make sure my phone is by my side and charged ALL THE TIME!!!
June 28th, 2007 at 2:58 pm
I do not believe they are on the way.
I do believe they should have reached the point where they have an idea of the cut off, and it is at that point that we sometimes begin to see rumors.
June 28th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
…………………………………………………………………………that was the sound of a pin dropping. Too quiet!
June 28th, 2007 at 3:38 pm
I don’t believe they are on their way either, I just think that maybe because of the “wrong information” last month, they aren’t going to give any information and just mail them out. I still think it’s going to be the first week of July!
June 28th, 2007 at 4:18 pm
Babymakes3…….I know how you feel! People look at me like I’m lying too! It’s like they think I made the whole thing up or something. LID 12/20/05
June 28th, 2007 at 4:22 pm
has anyone ever said the wait would reach 2 years in 2007? is it possible that november could stretch out so long that by december referrals the wait will have reached 24 months? (we’re at 19-plus right now)
just thinking of worst case scenario to make me feel better
June 28th, 2007 at 4:29 pm
I always thought the rumor has been 24 for months by Dec. 07 (which would indicate the Dec. 05 LIDs would be the first to hit 2 years). Don’t know where I heard this rumor, though. It just seems to always pop up - maybe it’s one of those urban legends.
June 28th, 2007 at 5:04 pm
Does anyone know when the officials from CCAA were going back to BJ?
June 28th, 2007 at 5:46 pm
I hate to say it..but November LID’s may see the two year to referral wait…if November finishes in November…then we know its true..all it will take is a very small batch…November 21-23..and there you go…sorry about this..but I think once they hit their year end; which is NOvember 30th..the wait will be two years and I think they knew this last year and tried to tell families…
June 28th, 2007 at 6:35 pm
Your so right RQ, with a 11.11.05 LID, i have looked at this site what feels like a 100 times a day for the last week hoping for any rumor at all. Keeping everything crossed that this will be our turn but not feeling very confident.
Its going to be a very loooong weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Luck everyone. I know it does not matter how close or far away you are, how many days are refered is important to everyone.
June 28th, 2007 at 6:49 pm
I am with everyone else. I think I check this site a dozen times a day this week hoping to see some news. I hope we hear something soon. Good Luck Nov LIDers.
June 28th, 2007 at 6:55 pm
kellyellison- my agency said they’ll be back the week of July4th. They didn’t know if that meant the 2nd or the 6th. I think in the forum, someone said they’d be back at the very beginning of the week.
anti-spam word- Hunan. Is that where my daughter is?
June 28th, 2007 at 8:06 pm
Someone just posted on the forum that they got an email through their Nov group form their agency that they are expecting a 2 day batch. So all Nov ‘05 lid’s go check your email!
June 28th, 2007 at 8:39 pm
That e-mail seems to be the one from my agency LID group. I reread the e-mail again just now. We are NOT expecting a 2 day batch. One person mentioned that the only rumor they’ve heard so far was a tiny one about a possible 2 day batch (could have been what we all heard earlier this month…turned out to have no merit). Anyway, my agency is not expecting a 2 day batch, but closer to the opposite of such a horrendous thing happening.
Wow, RQ, you have a huge job here. Don’t know how you do it.
June 28th, 2007 at 8:41 pm
Hope you posted that in the forum too - seems a lot of people are getting violently ill in there right now.
June 28th, 2007 at 8:44 pm
could someone please fill me in - what is a “batch” I’m new to the site - enjoying it but behind on the vocab/process
my paperwork has been in process but has not left our country for 18 mos
our fingerprints for CIS are on 7/5
longing to be LID’d…
confused
June 28th, 2007 at 8:49 pm
Too funny guangximom, as I was just reading the forum. I think everyone in there will need some Tums.
Thanks so much for clarifying LadyBug4. After reading your post all I can say is… Phew!! I refused to fall into the 2-day rumor, but did lose a tiny piece of me in it. I’ve regained my strength! So thanks for clarifying.
confused, a “batch” refers to the batch of referrals that the CCAA sends each time. They prepare them and send them pretty much at the same time to agencies around the world. Hope this helps.
June 28th, 2007 at 8:50 pm
batch means the referrals due to arrive next
welcome aboard!
June 28th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
BTW, when referrals materialized out of the blue last July, was it considered a bigger batch than normal?
June 28th, 2007 at 9:15 pm
Risking undue repetition here, but…
if the CCAA matches roughly the same % (of total November’s NSN Lids) in THIS batch as they did in the last batch, then the cutoff will be Nov. 10, which is a 3-day batch.
If the pace holds steady, we will see a 3-day batch this time.
So if/when you see the bug purple “Nov 10″ or “Nov 11″ come up on the blog, don’t disembowel yourself too soon–it is not a decrease in # of dossiers referred. And if they go further, they’ve matched more than in last batch.
As hard as it is not to latch onto days, it’s not the # of days but the # of dossiers ahead of you.
June 28th, 2007 at 9:34 pm
I think to be very safe and not to get our feelings hurt this month, we should say the rumor is “People with LID up to 11/10/05 will get their referral.” Then when they do indeed refer up to 11/13/05, we will be thrilled it was a few more days.
I just can’t bare hearing a rumor past this time frame. Because, like through the past year, we will just be disappointed again. It is about time a bone is thrown our way, but after the CCAA visits, I think the 10th-13th is a realistic acceptance.

Dear Babymakes3 and Spall……
…..I know exactly how you both feel…I’m almost embarrassed to talk about the adoption anymore….I work in the field of mental health and I’m sure people feel I’m very delusional..in fact sometimes I feel this will never happen….

Dear Mumarlene,
I also work in the field of mental health…and I do pinch myself sometimes to make sure I have not invented this baby story. Sometimes it truly feels like it is all in my mind.

Another one here in the field of mental health. I am currently looking for a job (even if only for a few months), and have learned my lesson. I am NOT even mentioning the adoption. I’m too tired. And as we know, anything can happen.
Reality testing here - Am I going to get my baby?

Just a bit of news…someone in the UK has been told by that with a Nov 16 05 LID they are probably in the “next next batch”.
Fits in with the current theory.
