Good Rumors
This is the time of the month where people start being told that their agency thinks they will be in this batch. So far I’ve heard from people with LID’s ranging from the 10th to the 17th that they are in.

Wouldn’t it be great if it was 17th November! With a LID of 24th March 06, I’m getting a little fed up with the number of people who think we have given up with China as there is no baby with us or ” Are you still doing the adoption thing?, When will you give up if the waiting time increases? Keeping my fingers crossed its good news! J X

The 17th sounds good to me!!!
Moving ahead, if referrals make it through the 17th in July, I am guessing the next cut-off will be the 22nd in August, and that November will be completed in September.
I am hopeful that the first half of December will be covered in October and at least through December 20th in November.
Time will tell as always . . . but maybe, just maybe I will at least have a picture of my baby for Christmas.

Oh thank goodness!! Yesterdays rumor of 2 days about sent me over the edge! We needed somthing positive to start out our holiday weekend. Good luck 11/17/05 LID’S. We are all hoping for good news for you :)

Yep, it happened again– I let myself get excited when I read this, even though I’ve sworn off taking rumors to heart a million times!
Here’s hoping this is the month that pleasantly surprises us. It has happened before (remember???)

You make a good point dixierufus. It seems like the most frequent topic of conversation for us recently has centered around just that. Several people who have a limited concept of how the IA process works seem to have decided that it will never happen for us. Some people even react as if we are doing something wrong or not doing something that we could. They envision that I could simply make a few calls to our agency or CCAA and set them straight. Most of it is good natured but frustrating non-the-less. We even went so far as to start a blog for our family and friends to help educate them on the subject in an effort to not have to answer the same questions over and over again. It can be hurtful at times when the people you care about are trying to console you for what they perceive as failure when what you really need is their support as we inch closer and closer. Conversation centers around the wait when what you really want to talk about is what an exciting and positive change that this is going to make in all of our lives.

ah, heartwarming. thanks, rq, for making my day. even if it doesn’t last, it feels so good to try on the idea that we will get a call soon. i hope it happens, but if it doesn’t, that’s ok too.
i only wish my father-in-law, who passed away earlier this month, had lived long enough to see his new grandchild.

Oh how I hope this rumor is true for all you early November people. I think November has suffered enough. Hopefully we will be hearing for sure soon!!!

Thank you RQ for the good rumor. This keeps me going through the day, and even though I know the chances for these positive rumours to be true are very small, they do put a smile on my face.
I really wish they make it to Nov 17, 2005.

or that their agency THINKS they will be in?

The 10th would only be 3 days, but the 17th would be 10 wonderful days. I’ll take it regardless. It means that we’re still creeping forward. Thanks for the good rumor RQ.
I’ll be out of town next week (no internet, no cell), so I’ll have to wait until a week from Saturday to see what happens. Hopefully I’ll return to GREAT news.
I have a good feeling that the stork is fueling up and checking its wings for a long flight. Have a good week everyone.

Good to know that we are not the only ones……I just thought that my family were being soooooooooo negative for us, as if they need to protect us from our dreams and hopes of a little one from china. We can’t wait until our turn finally arrives, we will probably faint with the shock!

RQ; Many thanks… You have been really great reporting things…I am hopeful they make it to the 14th..not so sure that I believe the 17th..though you know I would find that AWESOME cause my LID is the 23rd…The November group was assuming that the 11-13th would be where things land…but you never know…

Isn’t it amazing how things have changed? We are all so excited that we could be seeing 10 whole days of referrals. Remember when that would have been a really bad month? Kind of makes me a bit depressed.

Did agecies tell their people last month that they were in or that they just heard it was a big batch?? You know what’s funny about this, was the numbers 17th or 18 mentioned last month??? Makes me think my assumption that they matched through that last month and just stopped mailing them at the 7th is true~~~but who knows. I am just SOOOO excited about this and can’t wait to get the call. I know it won’t be today, but can you believe that I left my cell at home??? Dumb, dumb, dumb!!! My anti-spam word is Jiangxi AGAIN!! I can just feel it, Olivia is coming from there!!!

i am always amazed at how exciting i find these rumors, when i am still pretty far off with a 1-6-06 LID. I can’t even begin to imagine how i will feel when it’s our date that’s being discussed as maybe in/maybe out. I will be thrilled if they make it thru the 17th. Good luck for all you Nov peeps!

OK — I’m really excited because just this morning I was lying in bed and thinking about how far they might get for the month of July. I was counting through the dates and thought, “If they could just get to the 17th — that would be reasonable, yet wonderful!” How cool to then log on this morning and see this same date! This is nice news to wake up to. I’ve been avoiding some threads due to the nature of the topics. I just don’t want to read negative posts this week. Since I feel that I have regained some strength and patience to deal with this roller coaster ride, I’ll continue to watch from the sidelines. Good luck to all Nov folks.

I’m so pleased to see that there is a rumor going around about the next batch taking us to the 17th of November. With a LID of 11-16-05, my DH and I are keeping our fingers crossed for this rumor to turn into a 4 or 5R soon. I hope things start to turn around for the best. This wait is driving me crazy. Keep the rumors coming. I’m hooked.

This is good news but I am going to sit this one out this month and not get excited until we get an R5. Too many times I have gotten excited only to be let down. With a 2/28/06 LID I guess I still have the option to sit a few out. If I had a 11/05 LID I would be going nuts. Good luck guys.
And I think a 10 day batch is kind of a bummer anyway (though I know it could be devastatingly worse).

Okay - it’s 3 hours later….can’t we get anymore confirmation on this….the wait is killing me. I can handle if we are not in this time. I have accepted that possiblility - but the not knowing is driving me nuts. It is entirely too quiet out there. I have e-mailed, voicemailed and text messaged my agency. No response. Don’t they know how important this time of the month is for us. They should be at our beck and call right now. (Obviously joking now - okay not really.

A Nov LIDers agency has said that it is not expecting referrals until the second week of July (July 11 at earliest).
Many agencies and SWs have gone on extended vacation, which is partly normal but also interesting, that many have extended it beyond the long weekend; at least one agency is shut all next week, open Friday July 8.
Also: a European Nov LID learned from a big, tight-lipped goverment agency that the 16th is expected in the August batch. (’expected’ as in probably, not a certainty).
We seem to have positive or no negative rumours about the 10th-14th.

I also am tired of the “well why don’t you move to a different country?” As if I could fly to Vietnam next month and pick up my baby, or some other country with no wait? As if I’m sticking with China because I’m a masochist and want nothing more than to wait a couple more years instead of being a parent now? I know a lot of people are switching and I think it’s wonderful if that’s what’s right for them, but non-adoption people seem to think that other countries have no wait at all and we’re just sticking with China because we’re gluttons for punishment. Sometimes it’s hard for people to understand that our daughter is in China and if we have to wait for her, so be it.

It is hard to explain to non-adopters how the whole thing works and that it does take time. This isn’t just an easy solution to having a biological baby. Plus the media (partiularly television shows) don’t make it any easier on us. I love how tv parents get the babies in a month (sometimes a little bit more, but not an accurate potrayal of how long the wait really is!) after deciding to adopt. Like it is no big deal - there are just thousands of babies available for the taking. Then they get “the call” and leave the next day to get baby. Yeah right! Okay, I know that tv shows aren’t real, but if that is the only way someone is getting informed about adoption, then they should at least make it somewhat accurate. It is really insulting to adoptive parents who have waited so long!

Loiseme, I saw a shirt that reads “Why China? Because that’s where my daughter is”. I want to get that one and wear it everywhere. We told our salsa instructor (hey, gotta keep busy, right) the other day we were adopting from China and he asked with a disturbed look “why?” Not an interested “why” but more of a “why in the world would you want to do that”? Some people are just rude!

Yes, You hit the nail on the head mtmomma. Family is always asking if the agency just took the money! Or they know people who have gotten there child already. We ask what country and they say from South America. Don’t think they understand what it takes. Co-workers really don’t get it. Some will not talk about it. Wehave had them want to bet that they will get there house before we get the baby. But the wait goes on!

Let’s hope the 17th is in. Our way to avoid the wait questions is not telling anyone. We told our 3 references but not said anything to family or friends. We thought we’d wait ’til there was just a year to go. Maybe it’s a bit extreme but our LID is 4/15/07 so we have a long, long way to go.

fyi-we have an early Dec. Log in and I called my agency for another matter. I was told that for me they are expecting a Sept/oct referral. Personally I am thinking Oct/Nov. She said referrals have not hit the mail and they didn’t expect them to until late next week.

It is comforting to know others are struggling with the same problems I have. When I first started my adoption paperwork I was so excited I told everyone at work and most of my customers. I am a hairdresser. In retrospec that was a huge mistake I have to answer the same questions daily… over and over and over again. It can become frustrating when they act as if it will never come to fruition or say things such as are you worried you may not get a baby. I am single so I also have questions and comments such as well its probably taking long for you because you are single and , don’t you know singels are not accepted now so you probably won’t get a baby.

My mum passed away two weeks ago yesterday and it was very sudden. She was so looking forward to cuddling her grandchild and was my hope and support over the past few years of this whole process. Thankyou RQ for this site ,the sound of good rumors is the sound of my mum whispering good things are coming soon, don’t give up. We are not in this lot of LIDs. Our LID is Feb 22 06, but just knowing we are getting closer to happier times is such a comfort.
