Chocolate
There is a thread in the forum about comfort food. And people (me included) list chocolate. That’s a pretty broad category. One might even call it a food group.
So let’s talk about our favorite kinds of chocolate.
- Mint chocolate chip ice cream
- Brownies - just barely undercooked
- Chocolate chip cookies, still warm and gooey soft.
- Hershey’s Kisses
- M&M’s
- York Peppermint Pattie
- Fudge
- Hot Fudge Sundae from Baskin Robbins (with the brownie, Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream, really hot fudge, and lots of whipped cream)
- Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake with Raspberry drizzle stuff on it
- S’mores (but only when camping, for some reason)
Great, now I’m hungry. I’m pretty sure RK isn’t going to volunteer to run to the store and get me some Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, either.

Funny you should post about chocolate. I just bought a Birthday card for my sister today. It reads
“I tried a dessert called ‘Death by Chocolate’, but it only made me stronger.”
LOL
And I thought that only spinach was supposed to do that.

So we can rely on spinach AND chocolate for strength.

I like a good ol’ box of See’s candy. Mmmm!

I LOVE Java Chip Frappacinos from Starbucks and Mocha swirl lattes from Dunkin Donuts. Oh, did I mention I love espresso in combo with chocolate.

Actually, vanilla ice cream with peanut butter mixed in and hard shell chocolate poured over the top. Utter heaven.
Thanks for the distraction, RQ!

I’m right there with you RQ. Chocolate, any kind , any time. I to love brownies that are slightly undercooked. Yum

Gotta be dark chocolate - I think it’s Hershey’s that makes the “Special Dark” bar. I’ve never been a big fan of the sweet stuff, but have been know to put a dent in the bag of semi-sweet morsels instead of putting them into the cookies.

Really expensive milk chocolate (Laura Secord in Canada) with any combination of nuts, caramel or toffee.
Hersey’s Hugs
Real hot chocolate made from scratch with lots of real whipped cream
Skor bars
That’s my favourite chocolates.

I am a white chocolate person…….Don’t really care about the other chocolates! Don’t really care for brownies, and fudge seems gross to me. I’m an oddball for sure! :)

There’s an Italian pastry shop on Grand Ave in New Haven, Ct called Lucibello’s that makes these mini chocolate “pies” (and many other delights). Oh my. Dreamy. The shell has this almost lemony taste to it … ok… must… stop… thinking about them…

I used to work in an ice cream shop as a teenager and they had the best flavor, it was called triple chocolate ice cream.
It was chocolate ice cream with chocolate sauce and chocolate chips scattered throughout it was heavenly!

Hey, RK, drive over to Coldstone Creamery (or even 7-11) and get a sweet chocolate treat for your hardworking royal partner.
I can’t decide between mint chip and the coldstone dark chocolate mint.
July 26th, 2007 at 10:46 pm
how about Maggie Moos? one scoop of choc, one scoop of cinnamon with choc chunks and brownies mashed into it - HEAVEN
July 26th, 2007 at 11:33 pm
If you want phenomenal chocolate… try Lindt dark chocolate bars - the ones that use country specific cocoa beans (Cuba, Madagascar, Equador). They are so smooth that I can’t eat most other chocolate now. I’m spoiled.

Two words– Dark Chocolate!!! Every night I sit on my computer right by the pantry where there is chocolate. In between posts, I think about it and think about it.. and then of course at some point I just give in and go get it. The funny part is my husband loves chocolate just as much. Hey RQ, do you mean in the rumor palace there aren’t unlimited gallons of mint chocolate chip ice-cream waiting for you???!!!!! Ha! Oh great… I hear the pantry calling my name again. Gotta go.
PS - on the ice-cream front try the Dove Miniatures… YUM.

I’m sorry but I don’t like American chocolate. The whole family tried Hershey’s Kisses - but all thought yuk :-(
But I do LOVE Cadbury’s or Nestle’s chocolates. My absolute favourite (at the moment) is white chocolate Maltesers yum yum :-)

One of the grocery chains in Tx has a specialty store (central market) that makes anthony’s chocolate mousse cake. I’m sending a mental slice to congrat you 6-06 people and one to those of us who are hoping to get our referral soon.

Godiva espresso truffles.
Also, any kind of dark chocolate (must consume copious amounts of antioxidants). ;o)

Getting me so hungry at this early hour. Actually, it’s almost 9Am, but still too early for chocolate. Since I forgot to pack a lunch, I guess I might go to Subway and then get a couple of their chocolate cookies. I love them; especially when the chip are still warm and gooey!
RQ - Since I am no longer adopting from China, how do I go about changing my user name. I tried to sign up with my new user name, and I was told I’d be sent an e-mail to activate it, but I never received my e-mail. My username just doesn’t apply anymore, because of the different country, as well as probably waiting for a boy. Kathryn

RQ:
My favorite Ice-cream is Bryers Mint Chocolate Chip, while waiting for DD#1 I must have consumed one gallon every three to four days.
Last year I discovered an ice-cream that is just as yummy: Rasberry Chocolate chip from Big Bucks in Corolla NC. Yes, its far to go (at least from here) but well worth the trip!
Okay, now I am hungry!

You guys are killing me! In Seattle we are lucky to have some really good niche chocolate makers like Fran’s, Dilletante & Seattle Choco Co. I love some of the stuff they make. Also, Scharfenberger (sp?) pretty much rocks my world–i think they make the best chocolate available today. How about Ritter Sport? Anyone else a fan? The dark choco marzipan sends me. Oh dear, I feel a trip to the grocery coming on.
A big congrats to those who are out of the Review Room today!

When I am in a chocolate mood:
Lindt chocolate… I especially like the new ultra-thin bars with almonds and pear.
Boxed chocolates from Patsy’s Candies in Colorado Springs
Vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberries and chocolate syrup
Home-made chocolate milk shake
Peanut Butter and Chocolate
July 27th, 2007 at 11:38 am
Thanks RQ; let’s see if this works!

My favorite ice cream is Bunny Tracks. Vanilla ice cream with lots of chocolate chunks. I love M&M’s! Anything chocolate with caramel is also good!
I am what I’d consider an addict with anything chocolate. Once I start there’s no stopping me! I can eat nearly a pound of M&M’s in a day! I’ve allowed myself too many of these comfort foods trying to ease my anxiety with this wait! I’m pretty sure I’ve gained 10 pounds because of it!

I usually choose fruit dessert (think it is healthier???) but I LOVE chocolate and raspberry-anything AND chocolate with peanutbutter. You hit my favorite ice cream - mint chocolate chip! Yummy! Good topic for our tummy soul……
