Waiting for rumors
I would expect to start seeing some more rumors next week. Some months we don’t get much of anything, but other months we get a lot of information. Hopefully we get lots of information that agrees with itself next week.
I’ll say again that if you are new here you may want to check out some of the links under Site Navigation and Important Posts. The Rumor Ratings link will explain that the only posts I’m putting my reputation behind are the R4’s and R5’s.
I share just about all of the rumors here, even the ones that I don’t think have a lot of merit. The main reason for this is that the rumors are out there anyway so I may as well post them all and show how I rate them instead of having everyone talking about them and wondering if they are true or not.
So, if you are new here, try not to let your emotions get too involved with an R1 or R2 or even an R3. Those are mainly just for us to acknowledge and to see if everything is pointing the same way or differently. Once I reach an R3½ you can start to think maybe, and then of course once we reach an R4 things are looking pretty solid at least in my opinion.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend, and I hope we get lots of good rumors that are true next week.

I’m not sure how to post a referral but I got one for a SN girl 6 years old from Liu’An Children’s Welfare Institute in Anhui Province. We hope to travel before Christmas.
Her name is Zhao Xiao Man, Xiao Man means early morning elegant dance and she is precious and has a minor problem with her toes. I think we will name her Joy Xiao Man. I was LID 5/18/06 for NSN so everyone moves up one spot ‘cuz I’m out!
Hugs to all,
Michele and Emma (8 yrs old Jiangxi Province)

I say let’s skip the rumours and go straight to the referrals. Maybe the CCAA could give us a big surprise on Monday and have finished referrals for November (even into December pretty please) over the weekend.

My agency representative told me that so many people are dropping out out of the program that there is sure to be a speed up by spring. She said that she gets call every day in our little agency to change countires. She said she can only imagine what is going on with the rest of the agenices. Has anyone heard anything like this?
Still sending out speed up vibes from my neck of the woods, take care all, T

Emmasmom
Congratulations on your referral!!! I’m a little jealous.:) Our biological daughter has webbed toes so I’ve always told my husband if I see some webbed toes on a SN list, I’ll know she’s my daughter! We’re open to other special needs, I just really believe there’s another set of webbed toes out there for us.

My China only agency has has NOT reported a high or even large # of drop outs and only a small percentage of changing to NSN to SN.

My large China only agency reported many people dropping out, but my assumption is that it is for people more recently logged in.

I have been told that families switching programs have LID as early as mid 2006 up to 2007. If that is true then I would not expect to see any speed up until that time. For right now we sit and wait.

My husband and I have just decided to adopt from China. We have looked at many different countries, but really feel that China is where our little girl is. However, to hear that many people are dropping out does sound a little frustrating. The agencies that I have talked to have said that there is a slow down, however, still a lot of interest. We expect a 2-3 year wait. But I hope it doesn’t turn into 4 years. It seems like it is taking a year before they even get to the paperwork. We are very excited and very new at this. We are just starting are paperwork. I do feel a lot of pressure to complete it quickly. Any words of wisdom from those of you who have been waiting a long time?
Thanks
