A HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO’LL SEE THEIR DARLING’S FACES IN THE NEXT DAY OR TWO!!!!!
For the rest of us, it really wasn’t tooooooo bad, even though they didn’t make it into December. They’ve matched 134 files according to RQ’s poll numbers. Last month (Aug.) they matched 120, and I think that’s been about par for course for the past number of months.
Here’s to November, when we will see our munchkins face!

While I think it’s great they referred any families at all, I cannot help but think this dismal rate is pretty horrendous in the grand scheme of things.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall of the discussion between the parents waiting and the agency officials where the agency said they would get into december…
This is truly disappointing for so many waiting so long. I know with a mid 2006 LID, at this rate, with over 150 LID’s left between where they are now and where we are, this rate equates to 3-4 years left… this insanity has got to end.

By my count its a 4 day batch: November 22, 23, 24 and 25. Actually about what I was predicting (I even was resigning myself to another 2 day batch given what a monster 11-22 was in RQ polls.) Still, I had hoped with that Dec rumor…. ah well.
Big, big, **BIG** congrats to all of the families that will soon be seeing those precious faces. I can’t wait until those of you with blogs share your pictures. :)

I am at a loss for words… I can’t believe that this wait is almost over. 18 years married on 9/30 and I am finally going to be a MOM. I am numb.
Congrats to all of the other’s getting referrals and please hold on tight everyone else. I know how hard it is. And I do know it will be well worth it to have someone calling you Mommy and not Auntie.

onemoregirl- I have to say I don’t believe that for a second. I know the goal is to give us all the information as it becomes available so we can be as informed as possible. There is no other agenda or ill intent. I am so grateful that RQ has provided this forum-Not another soul will tell me anything about this process-not even my agency. While the rumors -note the word rumors- don’t always pan out-it’s good to have the information-when others who know more-remain dead silent

I guess the next batch will tell us if the CCAA goes truly by the number of LIDs in a batch. There is no reason they wouldn’t be able to get thru 10-11 days and still have a smaller batch than this one. My fingers are crossed–I am still hoping for referral in November. Still hoping to travel this year.
I was hoping for better this month, but i think this is the first time in a while that the CCAA actually hit the date I had guessed. So I guess that’s one small little positive, right??
Congrats to the new families!! I’m looking forward to seeing pictures this week.

Wow. We made the decision to adopt 3 years ago last month, and it appears as though we will see our baby’s face tomorrow. I knew we were in this time (11/22/05 LID), but I have to say – seeing our date finally covered on the CCAA site is such a beautiful thing to see. I just woke up, so I am not sure if this is all even hitting me yet. But it will shortly. I am sad that they did not cover more days, but we all knew how big 11/22 was, so I did not there would be many days covered this batch. I hope they finally finish up my 11/05 pals next month (I have a feeling that they will!) and finally get into December – as I have some very good friends with December LID’s and one with a January LID as well!

RQ, in looking at the poll results I noted there were some differences in the numbers when comparing the same dates on each poll – ie. my LID 12/5 had 55 for the poll closing 3/11 and 45 for the poll closing on 8/4.
Just wondering why this is.. Was I supposed to vote again for the poll closing 8/4?
If this has been asked and answered before I apologize..

I agree with Rumorqueen, why are you here? I am tired of reading emails from people that can’t appreciate everything that RumorQueen does. There are A LOT of people that love this site and understand when things go wrong. Life happends-roll with it!
If you don’t like the site and the rumors-leave. No one is making you read the rumors. Make your own site and try to find our things on your own.
I just can’t stand the complaining from people who do nothing but just read and then complain. Get off the site and make room for other people.

I thought I’d convinced myself to be realistic and expect the referrals to reach the 24th Nov, which is what everyone on here was saying would happen. But obviously I didn’t as I’m seriously disappointed and they’ve gone a day past that!! I’m sure the CCAA must be shareholders in Cadbury’s (chocolate makers) as the low numbers of days referred cause a huge spike in my choccie consumption each month!!!
Oh well here’s hoping for next month

I’m really grateful that CCAA updated the site before referrals were received. It makes me think that they wanted the new parents to know on the holiday. (Makes me happy to believe that even if it isn’t the case) :-) Also, I believe that RQ has explained each and every rumour every time she posts it and this month she did state on several occassions that she felt the 24th was the most realistic date. I don’t understand why people ignore the fact that these are rumours. Hey, we’re all frustrated with the wait but no need to throw around wild accusations. IMHO. Anyway, congratulations to all because this means we are all just a little closer to our goal.

We were a little bummed out that the referral batch didn’t make it to the 27th or 28th but it is what it is…I’m learning to be patient… :)
Onemoregirl–I don’t think you were lashing out at anyone in particular, I think you’re just so frustrated and annoyed. I totally get that. I don’t know if this will help, but I have replaced my frustration with being excited and it really helps. It will happen– and it will be GREAT!

I too am dissappointed that they did not get further, but don’t get why anyone would blame RQ for this. She reported a RUMOUR. That’s what she does. In the past year, NONE of the positive rumours have panned out. NONE. CCAA often says one thing, but does completely another.
Bottom line… don’t put your faith in rumours. They are just rumours. Until I see even one positive rumour pan out, I would be stupid to get my hopes up that it will in fact come true.
I too am very disappointed… yes. But still, this site has been very helpful to me. There is a wealth of knowledge I’ve gained here.

I can only say that I love this site, even when my hopes get a little dashed. The wait is what it is, and we are engaged with a culture that is not like ours and our choices are to be patient or leave. This is our second adoption from China, and we choose to stay–even though I’m pretty sure I’ll be pushing 50 by the time it happens! (Isn’t that the new 40, anyway?) My agency says absolutely nothing about the wait, even when questioned directly, and I think their attitude towards their clients in this regard is unsupportive, to say the least. All other areas, I think they do a great job.
RQ, I have a question regarding the matching process, based on something I observed when I was in Guangzhou: From talking to other parents there, we got the feeling that orphanages put up a specific number of babies who are paper-ready, and when that specific number is matched exactly, those referrals are released. For example, my daughter’s orphanage had 15 babies who were ready (I’m making up the numbers so my agency can’t trace–they are totally anti-RQ)–5 went to one agency in the U.S., 4 to one agency in a European city and 6 to another. Do they wait until they match out the paper-ready babies perfectly before releasing all the babies from a specific orphanage? Meaning perhaps the Spanish websites aren’t incorrect–some matching may have gone into December but they’re not done with making the numbers work. Does that make sense?

The way I see it, I wouldn’t know if I was next or 6 months away if I didn’t have RQ. At least by the info my agency gives out – NADA! So I am happy for all the rumours even when they don’t pan out.
I hear what you are saying onemoregirl, and I guess we would all be a little naive to beleive that RQ does this simply for the good of her health, after all she is a busy mum to two. But I beleive her heart is in the right place and her intentions are good. I haven’t seen any indication otherwise.
Thanks RQ for helping with this wait ( I am onto 44 months if you consider by wait for a singles spot!). But I am going to see my baby this week!

I am so happy for those who will soon see their children’s faces.
I am just numb about the wait. I can’t see an end and feel our family will be making some tough decisions in the near future. I know that it is up to China and CCAA what they do and how they do it. I just feel like a pawn right now. Two years ago we were completing our paperchase, two years from now, I doubt we will be near the end. My guess is that October will see the rest of November if we are lucky. Then December, January, February and March will see December, then April, May, June, July, and August will see January. September, October, November and December will see February.
Wondering how to tell my daughter she will not have a sister.

I am fighting being depressed today with the 4 day batch so I am loading up on positivity instead. It helps to remind myself that we have had a smaller batch than this before.

Echoing what has already been said, excited for myself and ‘some’ of my November buddies, hoped for more but was trying to be realistic and guard my heart.
I too am saddened that there always seems to be one person that has to tromp on RQ at these times. What she has done and continues to do for us cannot be measured. The fact that RQ continues to provide this site and the forum for us after she herself is home, truly is an amazing thing. I know I would not have gotten through this with the little bit of sanity I have left, had it not been for the knowledge and friendship I have found here.

I am so happy for all those about to receive those referrals! Just think, in a matter of days, you will see a photo of the child that you’ve been waiting your whole life for! I’m as upset by the cutoff as the next guy, but that’s not RQ’s fault, she stated the rumor, and explained the source.
I’m sick of waiting too. With a 11/30 LID, I’m anxious to see RQ’s bad/good case workup. Hopefully, even a horrible case will get me a referral next time.

Any rumor — good, bad, or ugly — is better than nothing and is also about 1 million times more info than my agency offered me.
All of us can appreciate how painful some disappointments are; perhaps if those disappointments are too painful for some individuals, they should consider not putting themselves in the position to be hurt.

WooHoo!! Congrats to you all! It is a feeling I can not describe when you finally see your babies face for the first time. I didn’t know whether to shout or cry. LOL We received our referral last month as we are leaving next week (13th) for China! Enjoy her face and before you know it she will be in your arms!

I just have a general question. Does the rumor queen make money for every time she gets a hit? I am only asking in reference to a statement that was made here. If it’s true that she gets a piece for every hit, I would find it very interesting that one can make a profit off a website.

Yes, the ads make money. But we are on a dedicated server. Go out and see how much a dedicated server with 4 gigs of RAM and unlimited bandwidth costs per month on a fully managed hosting plan. Hint: It’s more than my car payment and I drive a nice car that I bought brand new. Without the ads there would be no site. Period. If you don’t like the ads, don’t come back. No one is forcing you to type ChinaAdoptTalk.com into your URL bar.

Big hugs to those still waiting. I had so hoped the into December rumors were true.
I can`t help but jump in and defend RQ a bit. I think she makes it VERY clear that this is a RUMOR board. I think she gave fair warning that the into December rumor was probably too good to be true. If I recall correctly she advised that Nov 25 was probably a more feasible cut off. I can only imagine how much time and effort she puts into this board. I think she deserves more appreciation.,
As for the ads. Clearly it is not cheap to run such a large board with so many hits. Clearly she has continuous upgrades to keep it from crashing. I also think her time is worth something.
Keep up the good work RQ, I think the majority of your readers count you when they count their blessings.

Thank you for EVERYTHING you put into this site. I am thankful that you post every rumor you hear, even the R1s. You let us know what is going on. Those who choose to put all their faith in a not-likely-to-ever-happen rumors, have their own issues and are lashing out because they are let-down once again. It is hard for everyone, but shooting the messenger is not the answer, and I am pretty sure that it won’t help the CCAA speed up.

Did you know you were mentioned in the Wall Street Journal last Thursday (8-30) as a resource to help adopting parents cope? The article was about employers who are providing more generous adoption benefits for employees (page D1).

It’s sad tensions are tight here this am, when we ALL should be just celebrating the fact there are referrals about to happen and there was allocations for this month. No matter how big or small.
Those that doubt this site will come round to realising this is the only place you can come and get close to spot on answers as you wait. When they are not answers, they are rumours. And when there are no rumours happening, its for support.

I echo the sentiment of those who say they would be a bit lost without this site. I understand the right to voice our opinions but as someone already pointed out this is a place where rumors are posted – good and bad. Without this site there would be nothing but a constant din of tens of thousands of waiting parents tapping their fingers or in other words NOTHING. I’ll take my chances with the rumors.

In the U.S. we enjoy freedom of speech. But, freedom of speech does not guarantee us a platform for our speech, it just says that we can say what we want as long as it does not create a safety issue and as long as it doesn’t impede someone else’s freedoms.
Freedom of Speech in my country does not mean that you can come into my living room and spout whatever you want and I am forced to listen. It means you can buy or rent a house and then spout whatever you want in your own livingroom. But it does not mean you can come into MY livingroom and say whatever you want and force me to be okay with that.
I’ve asked before that people treat this site as they would my livingroom. Don’t say something to someone that you wouldn’t say at a face to face social gathering in someone’s home. And if you do, don’t be surprised if you are politely asked to not come back.
Please read through the Rumor Ratings if you have not already. Only when we hit an R4 or R5 am I indicating that I think it is a true rumor. I didn’t give anything an R4 or R5 this time, but I said (several times) that if I had to bet I would bet it was closer to the 24th than anything else.

As someone who just saw my babies face recently, I have to tell you that all the pain of the wait will fade away. It will leave a little scar but it will make you stronger and make the moment you see your babies face even more special. I have been reading the responses and can just feel some of your pain. I know you have been hearing this for so long but have faith in your heart and in your words and it will happen.
Congratulations to all of you this month. It is the best feeling ever to be in this place. Enjoy every minute of it. I bet you just can’t stop smiling and every step now has a little bounce.
Rumor Queen, thank you. This web site had been one of the shining lights that I would go to each day while enduring the long journey. I don’t know what my wait would have been without you. I’m sure it would have been even that more lonely.

I agree with Heidi, a little waiting scar is all that is left now that I have my beautiful daughter home. I waited, and waited and waited and it was pure misery (except of course, being addicted to RQ every day!!) but that’s all gone now.
It will happen! Congrats to all the new families. You’re in for a grand adventure :)

I sure hope that my comment above didn’t come across wrong. I am definitely disappointed with the Nov. 25th cut-off and did indeed hope for more but I LOVE this site! LOVE IT…LOVE IT….can’t live without it right now! RQ is the only one giving me ANY answers right now which is more than I can say for the agency I’ve paid thousands of dollars to. My disappointment stems from my own decision to put too much hope in the December rumor. I knew it was just a rumor but after all this time waiting I lost my better judgment. Plus I wrote that post about 30 seconds after waking up (I’m on the west coast so it’s 3 hours earlier and I slept in for Labor Day) so I wasn’t even myself yet. I am thrilled for everyone getting the call this week!!! Please please know I didn’t mean I was unhappy with RQ.

RQ, I echo all those who had said thanks before me. I just wanted to mention that I have said to my husband several times, that you should charge a small fee for your site (I would pay in a heartbeat)! But, being the generous person that you are, you have always deferred this type of talk to donations to your favorite charity! I love to see people who have a great idea, nurture the idea and provide an invaluable service to others. With the amount of time that you spend on this site, it would only make sense that you make a profit. I understand from your posting (current and previous) that the ads basically pay for maintaining the service. I think you are a very generous person to provide your services to us for FREE!

I read the post from time to time, but I choose not to ride the ride. This is my choice. Each person choose to buy into what is being said or to take it at face value. I do not believe that it is the right of anyone to blame RQ for the choice they make in choosing to believe a rumor. It’s a rumor CLEARLY STATED!!!!
Yes the wait is long and it is hard to keep feelings in check. We must all do what we must to keep balance. What works for some will not work for others, you must find what works for you. The wait is what it is and no one can change that!!!
Let’s be kind to everyone and realize that tensions are running high, with that in mind like mama used to say, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all!!

And I was happy for you, that you could channel your knowledge into a place for the rest of us that wouldn’t know how to check a spanish board if we tried!! this is a direct cut and paste off my agency’s website tonight: “It takes approximately 8 months to complete the adoption process once the dossier has been received by China.”
Where would I be without RQ? With an LID of April of this year, still holding false hope that I would see my daughter by Christmas? Thank you RQ for all that you do, I have learned so much about this process and our projected wait time from your website, and more importantly, i have found support amongst your community of families while i wait to start mine. your time, hard work and efforts are truly appreciated!

I haven’t really been here very long, but I have to say I don’t envy the RQ at all. I get the sense that with every post, hers is the first heart to break when she has to report news that is so disappointing to so many people. I know it’s easy to lash out at her (shooting the messenger and all), but let’s place our anger and disappointment where it should be. If you want to take a look at people who make a profit from spreading falsehoods, take a look at all of the agencies still promising 18 month waits. They’re raking in tens of thousands of dollars based on outright lies and misinformation. At least the RQ is honest, no matter what the news is.

Why is making money some evil crime? With all of the work you do for this site, you should make a lot of money! We all don’t hesitate to pay our agency money and they don’t give us near the information. Any money you are making isn’t coming out of any of our pockets. We have a wonderful service free of charge!!! Good work RQ…you are awesome!

I feel so bad for any new families who are just starting out on this process if their agency is giving out false info, ie: false hope. I just checked our agency website and sure enough–it’s wrong. I sent this email to our liason:
Hi ****
I went to the website today and it says that “It is currently taking 15-16 months to receive a referral from China. (Always subject to change)â€
You guys should probably change that just to be fair to any new people who are thinking about adopting from China. It has been 20 months for us so far and it will likely be more than 24 months when we get our referral.
(I hope I don’t come across too annoyed with them, even though I am. Right now I still need them!)

Not trying to beat a dead horse….but I am so sick and tired of people taking hits at RQ.
She is a big girl and doesn’t really need us to defend her…but this wait is bad enough as is. THE ONLY good thing about this wait is this site….
I mean seriously….it is much more than just a place to find out what may or may not be the cut off. She can not be MORE clear with her rules and how she rates her rumors…
If you did have this site you would be lost…period end of story.
I would totally understand if she banned people like that….not because it “hurts her feelings” (which is not the case I am sure) but because it disrupts the flow of this site and its purpose for the rest of us.
If you are disappointed in the results and can not find any other way of dealing with it other than going off on RQ then please please please LEAVE HER “HOME”.

RQ, we would be totally in the dark without your site, our agency still states the wait is currently 6-8 months (could go longer). In our whole 20 month wait we received ZERO calls and no written communication from our Agency, without RQ we would have gone completely crazy.
IMO the BEST and most valuable part of RQ’s site is the FORUM and the fabulous community within, I cannot imagine what we would do without it.
