Nothing substantial
It is probably semi-safe to say that the cut off is probably somewhere between November 30th and December 5th (inclusive).
Yeah, I know. Duh. We pretty much figured that three weeks ago.
I think we have to prepare ourselves for the possibility that the cut off might be November 30th. I’m not saying it is, I’m just saying we should prepare for the possibility.
Someone asked me to rate all of this, and nothing is above an R2 at this point. So please don’t assume the cut off IS the 30th, just prepare yourself in case it works out that way.
As I posted earlier in the week, I’ve heard from several people that the CCAA will be working this weekend. It is my hope that we’ll see the site change before they leave for their National Day holiday.

I’m seriously going to scream if it turns out that the cut-off is the 30th! I’m holding onto hope that CCAA will get into at least a few December days.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:28 am
The possibility of the cutoff being the 30th is enough to make me throw-up!
Please, OH PLEASE, let’s get a little further than that.
December 5th would send me as close to the moon as I can get without them actually getting to my LID, 12/20/05.
I so want to at least see my baby’s precious little face by Christmas. If the cut-off ends up being the 30th, I don’t really think that will happen.
*sigh*
September 28th, 2007 at 11:31 am
I agree the more days into December the better but even if they could go to the 1st - I will be so happy to see the word December in the update box!!
September 28th, 2007 at 11:31 am
The possibility of the cut-off being the 30th makes me want to throw-up.
Please, OH PLEASE let’s get a little further along than that.
A DEC 5th cut off will make me jump for joy.
I so want to at least see my precious baby’s face by Christmas. I think a cut-off of the 30th will pretty much nix that possbility, while a Dec 5th cut off may mean that it will happen.
What a difference a few days can make.
*sigh*

I’m with you pottiepie - that would make absolutely no sense at all if that came to pass - thats less referrals than the horrid 2 day batch isn’t it? I would seriously question this program then especially with all the other rumors about them referring out but not mailing all or the whole mystery agency business. I would seriously lose all faith at this point.

RQ: With the CCAA working over the weekend, when might they send referrals? Monday? And if that is the case, when might they be received in the US?
Thanks!
September 28th, 2007 at 11:38 am
It is funny because I am listening to the radio and “Don’t Speak” is playing. That is exactly my emotions when it comes to having the cutoff be the 30th. My heart can’t handle a 5 day batch. I am LID Oct 30th 2006. I WILL NEVER GET MY CHILD AT THIS RATE!!!!!! I know it is all R2 at this point, but somehow getting to December doesn’t seem like it will ever happen let alone get into my LID year.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:39 am
The “Horrid Case” is November 29th. So no, it would not be the smallest ever if they only get to the 30th.

Let’s hope they get to the bad case projection. I have my fingers crossed. I think “Bad” will become the new “Mid” in the next few months.

Do you hear the clickety clack of the roller coaster as it begins to climb. Please keep your hands and heart inside the ride at all times until it comes to a complete stop. Never a dull ride in IA.
Hoping referrals go to the 5th preparing myself for the 30th.
Thanks RQ!
September 28th, 2007 at 11:44 am
If it is the 30th, that is really only three LID dates not five, since there was a weekend in there.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:47 am
Unfortunately, I fully expect CCAA to only match to 11/28 soooo if they actually go into December, I’ll be ECSTATIC!!!

I am with you kim532. My LID is 10/17/06 and even 1 extra day of referrals is better at this point. It’s interesting my anti-spam work is mama, sometimes I think it will never happen.

The “Horrid Case†is November 29th. So no, it would not be the smallest ever if they only get to the 30th.
I think you should change the categories. Instead of “Horrid Case” how about something more fitting like “Vile Case”?????!!!!!!

I could SCREAM!!!! I am getting sooo tired of this whole thing!! This whole waiting thing has been worse than any phyical labor pains ever!!! Can’t we catch a break?? I am sooo glad I am almost out of the whole thing very soon. Good luck to all of those who are waiting and still will wait longer!

There is no way I can prepare myself. :(
Does anyone think that if 12/05ers get their referral in November we can travel and be back by the end of the year?
September 28th, 2007 at 12:02 pm
adopting liberty -
I would think that anyone who gets a referral in this next round should make it to China and back by the end of the year. The last couple of months have received their TAs quickly, so I don’t think it is at all an unreasonable expectation.
September 28th, 2007 at 12:05 pm
Congratulations to those who will soon be hearing about their children. Hugs to those who will have to wait longer.
September 28th, 2007 at 12:08 pm
We received our referral in the September batch and received our TA yesterday. We are to be in Chonqing by 10/28, with a Consulate appointment requested for 11/4-11/6. This seemed to be much faster than our previous adoption. Thus there is a good chance that the 12/05ers will travel before the end of the year(not sure about being back).
September 28th, 2007 at 12:12 pm
Has anyone else put off vacations, holidays, family get-togethers, poker-nights, etc for that last two years because they could not commit due to the unknown?
It would be great to be back by the end of the year so that (among the many other reasons) we could actually plan a family vacation.
September 28th, 2007 at 12:19 pm
RAMFAM- I am with you. We are 12/7/05 lid and I am soooo tired of this wait. I have been on the verge of tears all day. It has been nearly 22 months and I feel drained. I will be in tears for sure if the cut off is nov.30.
September 28th, 2007 at 12:28 pm
I think we will all be in tears if the cutoff is not beyond the 30th - well, maybe not the nov 30th people :-)

I’m there with you bugsandbows. I can’t take it anymore! I know RQ would tell us if there was anything to tell, but honestly, I’m just DONE with the wait. I told my pops just now, i’m at the end of my rope and hanging on by 1 finger! COME ON already!
I AM really excited for the Nov peeps. Really I am. I’m just such a basketcase right now. I can’t think at all anymore!

I am hoping for a bit of December too. I was thinking last night, and I am sure the numbers are on this site somewhere, but my hubbies neurosurgeon, LID late August of 2005, got his referral October 2006, traveled during Christmas. It has taken the CCAA (my anti-spam word) 1 year to refer 3 months of LID.
I hope we can’t safely say that we are looking at 4 years for referral, but at that rate, we are.
September 28th, 2007 at 12:46 pm
Don’t know where my other post went?
Thinking last night, and am sure the numbers are here somewhere, but my hubbies neurosurgeon was LID late 08/2005. Got his referral in October of 2006, traveled over Christmas. The CCAA has referred 3 months of LID’s in 1 year. At this rate, the time frame is 4 years. I truly hope that doesn’t come to pass. I know Oct/Nov 2005 were heavy.
September 28th, 2007 at 12:49 pm
NationaL China day is Oct 1st and I think they have the whole week off.
For our last adoption we managed to complee our adoption just before the holiday and were in Hong Kong for National day where they had a massive firework display.
As for the cut-off prediction surely they should be albe to get past Nov. 30th, that’s only 68 of referral of the poll. Haven’t they normally covered somewhere between 120-103 in recent months. That would take us to Dec. 6th .
Still i suppose it’s best to be prepared for the worst.
Just wish they’d get into 2006.
Marion LID March 7th 2006, but started adoption process Dec. 2004.
September 28th, 2007 at 12:59 pm
I am pretty new here at posting, although i have followed for 2 years. I just wanted to say it is great to feel the support and to know we aren’t alone. I know at times people get mad on this site but all in all I feel supported. To know I am not the only one feeling tired of the wait and to know that some of you know what I am going through is in alot of ways a comfort to me. People not involved with IA really have no idea how we all feel. Thanks RQ for this site!
September 28th, 2007 at 1:02 pm
A good time to remember that in summer 2006, the CCAA told governement agencies on its tour that the wait would reach 24 months by the end of 2007. That’s 18 months in advance, before those children referred were even born. Perhaps because of a quota or something like that.So understand this is to a very large extent a pre-determined pace. That points to a plan, even if it’s one we don’t have details of. From their Dec05 in Dec 07 statement, I could see that with an LID of Nov 30/,05, I’d get a referral in fall 2007 so I’m relieved to make it into a late September pre-holiday batch: I’m Nov 30/05 and could just as easily have wound up in a November batch.
CCAA also said that at some point in their new forthcoming year, we’d see significantly more LID days covered oper batch (15, eventually)–to me that points to an official allowed raise in numbers referred. The numbers of NSN referrals may have been determined before the Hunan factor and massive submission on our end happened, as well as all the other ‘x’ factors that combined to change the situation. But they did have a plan for what is happening now, and they’ll have a new plan, which points to bigger batches, as early as the late December/early January (first batch prepared in new CCAA year).
A Nov 30 cutoff, IF comes to pass, is a bit slower than what we’ve seen for the past 4 months, but many Nov 30ers knew months ago that we might *just barely* squeak into this batch. I so well understand December LID’s need to see “Dec” in the cutoff date–it WILL happen, and it will rock your world when it does.
September 28th, 2007 at 1:06 pm
I just can’t imagine them only getting to the end of November or not finishing November in this last round. It makes me feel as if I am losing my hope. I really can’t describe the feelings I have about this. It’s almost this sense of panic in my chest. Why?? Why does it have to be like this now when it used to be so much better?

Okay, someone smack me please. It’s our lid-versary, 18 months…… I’ve always been so happy to punch another notch in my belt, but today, I just want to cry. This is all too much……… I feel positive that they have gotten to the 30th………. I’ll just fall apart if they don’t make it into December……..
Help………. :(

So far today I have inhaled half a bag of Tostidos and more chocolate chips than I care to think about. I don’t even really know why I’m so stressed out about all this when my LID is still so far off (April ‘06). Blah.
I asked my social worker whether China will honor our ages at LID as the one to go by when it comes to making your referral, and she said yes. Still worries me, though. We’re in our late 40s already. A friend regularly bugs her agency about this, too, and is also being reassured not to worry about her age at referral affecting anything. Has anyone else heard differently?

PRS and PMS coupled with a downright ugly rumor makes for a very sad pootiepie. I think I’ll enjoy a glass of merlot over dinner tonight. Anyone want to join me?

I think I need to go see a doctor about getting some anti-anxiety pills, sleeping pills & depression pills!
Isn’t it funny, how the CCAA wants adoptive parents to be “metally sound”???
I’m going NUTS!!! I know I’m much more patient person now… but come on!!! Give me a break!

Definitely their new slogan!!!

hhbaby2-
I asked our social worker the same age at referral vs age at LID question last year when we did our home study update and AGAIN last month when we updated again. She said the same thing - our age at LID is what is looked at.

Anyone with a December LID between 1-5 been told they are NOT in? If so…pm RQ…until we know THAT, I say don’t assume anything. I am worried but no-one has said that December is NOT in have they? Until they do….I am not going there…Hang in there…I am do lots of hoping for you guys…Its time for December to get their referrals…

Ramfam, I’m with you!
I’m thankful CCAA goes by age @ LID & not @ referral. At the rate referrals are coming my husband & I will be in the nursing home when our referral comes!!! I wonder how that will work out? ha ha.
Keeping my fingers crossed that some of December 05′ is included…
Have a good day. Lisa.

jebmbc-
I am laughing at your post about the icepick. I have been sitting at my desk for so long, that I feel like I have an icepick in my back! I feel like I have been sitting here for days waiting for the cut off.
September 28th, 2007 at 4:16 pm
Babymakes3 … brilliant slogan!!!! Between that and Jebmbc’s comment about the icepick, I actually laughed (out loud no less) twice. I have found this month to be extremely stressful as well. Why, I have no idea since I have a LID of 11/06 (just writing that date makes me cringe). I guess it’s just because it’s taken so long to get through Nov. ‘05 and everyone can feel the pain. Talk about going at a snail’s pace. Since the CCAA is nearing the 2-year waiting period that they spoke about, let’s just hope that January brings some sort of predictability back into the program.
September 28th, 2007 at 4:34 pm
actually, ramfam, they might have to change the age to 12 and up…because with the wait! (Those who were logged-in at age 12 would be 32 by referral).

Hi hhbaby2
my dh and I are in are forties but were never told that age makes any difference .. I don’t know why it would as we are all within the rules. We are not worried about the age of our future child. When you look at the photos of the familys who were matched with children all the ages varied. All those babies looked as if they had found their family

Our agency said that they don’t find out the cut off date until it is posted on the CCAA site. How would an agency know that Nov 30 is in??
Our agency’s next group is Dec 7th. I’m crossing my fingers for all of the December people.
I’m not known for my psychic abilities- but I have a feeling something is going to change this month- for the good that is. Anybody else have that feeling?? Could just be wishful thinking.
I just want to plan a vacation without saying “well, we might be in China- I hate to commit to anything at this point” I’ve said that for two summers now!!!!!
Getting closer but getting really freakin’ sick of waiting-

mares, I feel like something is different this month too. The quietness seems so unusual to me, different from any month I remember and I’ve been following RQ for a year at least. Or maybe it’s because I’m hoping for my referral this time. Maybe everyone feels this way when they are this close - my LID is 12/5/05. I wondered if it was just me feeling that something is weird this time.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:30 am
I would think if we are going to see the site change before their holiday it would be today, since today is actually Sunday their. Which would also be their last day of working. I sure hope we here soon!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:00 am
I know this is a bit off subject, but I’m curious to know if there are any estimates on the number of dossiers being submitted POST May 2007. Is the number down CONSIDERABLY? I am still 3 years away from starting my paperwork (you want to talk about a long wait…), and am hoping beyond hope that by the time the April 2007 folks have been referred the wait will slowly start dropping. Anyone care to vaguely speculate how long my wait will be with a LID around 7/2011?? :) I am hoping it will be back DOWN to about 2 years again (assuming it will go up to 3-4 before it peaks).
