It’s been a long time since we’ve had one of these.
It is Sunday morning in China and I’m told the CCAA is working today. With any luck we’ll see the site change during their workday.
What would ya’ll like to start the conversation off with? The new shows that premiered this week? Links to funny (and clean) videos? Fainting Goats?

BLUE fainting goats, of course!
September 29th, 2007 at 8:35 pm
RQ, thanks for this (LAST!) slumber party, it’s a great way to finish up November. We need to party!
There have been some great new shows this week-I really enjoyed “Life”. Cop show with a zen viewpoint; makes a cop show more interesting for me. DH likes the detective shows, a lot, so this works well for us.

Hey, did you all post this already and I missed it? It looks like Ni Hao Kai Lan won’t be on in October as I thought was originally released. According to the Nick Jr. site it now says February, 2008. I’m so bummed. Here’s the link to Nick Jr.:

Can’t comment on any new shows, my free time (and time at work) is spent in front of my computer. Why did I think a second adoption would be easier on the nerves?
September 29th, 2007 at 8:47 pm
hopesemper, you thought it would be easier on the nerves because it darn well would have been if the wait were 8-9 months (at least that is what mine was the first time around and that was sooo much easier). Little did we know we were signing up for torture.

Hi everyone,
Greetings from Massachusetts!
This is one of my favorite youtube clips EVER – I laugh EVERY time I see it – sometimes it puts me into an asthma attack I laugh so much….
http://youtube.com/watch?v=36WgNX_–hI
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do
September 29th, 2007 at 8:50 pm
I am not sure about the blue fainting goats. If I stay up for a while maybe I will see some. My DH loved the new Bionic Woman. I did not see it but if they do not make the noise when she uses her bionics, I am not interested. I do like Boston Legal, although I did not see it this week. Does anyone know how it was? Right now my Phillies are in a pennant race so we watch alot of baseball and sports shows. Any Mets fans out there? I will check back later for updates.

LID 4/16/07 Yikes!
September 29th, 2007 at 8:52 pm
frannysmom,
You are correct. Our first adoption was in 2004 and we were told the wait would be 12-13 months and it was 9 months. At this rate, I’ll be dropping off my daughter at college and cashing my retirement check before meeting my second daughter.
September 29th, 2007 at 8:53 pm
okay, I’m checking in for the party! but I still have to go heat me up something to eat as I sit in front of the computer! woohoo! My ds and dh will be watching football, but I’m sure my dh will poke his head in! where are the fainting goats??

OOOOPS – doesn’t seem to work when you click on the link – try copy and pasting the address – it’s the one of the model falling and the reporters laughing..
September 29th, 2007 at 8:56 pm
anyone watch Bionic Woman? Certainly not like the one I grew up with, but good.
September 29th, 2007 at 8:58 pm
Sorry guys, for some reason the link isn’t bringing you to where i want it to…
You can search with the term
Falling Model cracks up News Anchor
If you want to be sure you get the one I mean…
Sorry to take up so many messages just to get you to that one place… Kind of tells the story of my adoption process when I think about it….lots of steps but little progress!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:00 pm
The youtube video is funny, but I feel bad for the model, that had to hurt.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:03 pm
Please know what makes me laugh is the laughter of the reporters not that the model fell….
September 29th, 2007 at 9:04 pm
I don’t get into TV much but I just got done reading the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. Can I tell you…..nothing got done for two weeks! Once I started reading them, I was hooked. At first I was a bit reluctant and thought my book group had lost their minds (vampires and such). However, they were great! Anyone else read these?
September 29th, 2007 at 9:05 pm
I watched the last half of bionic woman and I liked it! I miss the sound effects but I love the “enhanced” bionic features-gotta love modern technology!
And of course I love ER BUT I hated they took Ray out last season without his legs! That stunk!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:05 pm
DH and I have to be at work at 6:30am so we can’t wait up for the party. I remember a year and a half ago logging onto the computer and checking out the CCAA website to find out we were out of the review room. DH said I almost sucked all the air out of the room. We weren’t expecting to see the change on that day. I hope to have the same feeling in the morning! Not for us (LID 12-28-05), but for you early Dec. families. Good night and good luck!!!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:06 pm
Fainting goats are a hoot. We even had some sheep that did the same thing everytime the boys would work with them for the fair.
Hoping for a change tonight with good news.

We weren’t sure what we thought about Bionic Woman. My DH said they should have gotten Jennifer Garner. But that would be Alias, wouldn’t it?? : ) Really enjoyed Life. We like quirky. But the best premiere, to us, was The Office…………soooo funny!!!!!!!!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:09 pm
Please know I was laughing at the reporters laughing, not the model falling….
September 29th, 2007 at 9:10 pm
Bannany66, Boston Legal opener was very funny, I love the characters.
The best show I’ve seen this year I can’t remember the name of….it’s about a guy who gets moved around in time….he can’t control it, just wakes up in another time, and has a task to complete there. Then he suddenly wakes up in his own time, and has to explain to his family. It was surprisingly well written, full characters and relationships even in the first episode. Any one know the name of the show?
September 29th, 2007 at 9:11 pm
jaycrnjd, I laughed too, the reporters had this very contagious laugh and I have to admit I did laugh at the model and then felt guilty because that has to have hurt.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:17 pm
That site better change tonight with some surprising good news (yeah I know, wishful thinking) cuz my TEAM IS LOSING right now! GO GATORS!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:20 pm
Check me in! I will up late. I am so anxious lately I can’t sleep. It will work well tonight. :-)
September 29th, 2007 at 9:20 pm
Oh Man, I laughed out loud on The Office. Cracked me up.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:21 pm

I knew you understood but didn’t want anyone else to think i would find delight at someone else’s misfortune. Though… the way her legs wobbled over and over again didn’t help the situation any! :)

krj – GO GATORS!!!! :-)
P.S. Are you in Fl?
September 29th, 2007 at 9:25 pm
I am a huge fan of CSI (the orignial in Las Vegas) Did anyone catch the opener. I am finally glad to know who the “minature make” was.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:25 pm
Alright guys, I have lots of grilled pizza left, who wants some?
September 29th, 2007 at 9:26 pm
We don’t watch much tv either but we love Battlestar Gallatica and 24. But they don’t start until January!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:27 pm
Hey, I’m just glad that the photo of the crying little girl is gone from the homepage. The new little girl looks so much happier :)
Erica
September 29th, 2007 at 9:27 pm
We watch CSI too! Actually we are watching the first show right now on the dvr.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:27 pm
Oh I agree! I cringed everytime I saw the poor girl on the last ad.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:27 pm
Grilled pizza? Sounds interesting, but good! How do you make it?
September 29th, 2007 at 9:28 pm
I hope someone is continually hitting refresh on CCAA.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:28 pm
24!!!! Where’s our very own Jack Bauer? I love 24—-bink, bink, bink, bink………
September 29th, 2007 at 9:29 pm
Ok, since it’s a slumber party, I have a confession to make:
I’m 35 but addicted to teeny-bopper shows on MTV, like:
The Hills
Sweet Sixteen
Made
Parental Control
Next
True Life
(is that pathetic or what?)
:)
September 29th, 2007 at 9:31 pm
jaycrnjd,
OMG, that video is too funny. Like you said, I feel sorry for the model. The funny thing is how the 2 newsmen can’t contain themselves. DS and I were cracking up at their reaction.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:32 pm
Here’s question, for those who know “Made”, if you could pick one thing to “become” for a week-what would it be and who would you have train you?
HMMMM…… how about a matcher for the CCAA?
September 29th, 2007 at 9:32 pm
Well, I love the fact that my anti-spam word is “baby”! :) Maybe that is a good sign? I can’t stay up tonight – I’ve been pretty sick for the past two weeks (just a virus/laryngitis/cough thing) – so I need some good sleep tonight. But that would be so cool to wake up tomorrow and see that the CCAA website has changed! Stay positive, everyone! And many thanks, RQ, for keeping us all going… Nov 05 has been a BEAR!

Don’t feel bad. I still love to watch the teeny bopper movies like “Pretty in Pink and the Breakfast Club” that were released when I was a teen. My dh groans everytime they come on TBS and I have them on. I even think there is a new show coming on soon that looks like it might be similar to 90210, which I loved even though I was way older than the kids on that show!!! And, Jenni Garth is on Dancing with the Stars. I was excited to see her dance!!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:35 pm
Go Gators! from Gainesville, Florida! :-)
September 29th, 2007 at 9:35 pm
hhhhmmmmm…..I have found myself watching Hannah Montana even when my son wasn’t home and Suite Life of Zack and Cody. That is soooo bad!
And yes I’m checking CCAA every few minutes!!!!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:35 pm
Dancing with the Stars! One of favorites! That little Cheetah Girl (can’t think of her name) was great for the first show of the season!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:35 pm
Hi,
Thought I’d pop in for a minute.
Something funny happened at work last week. One girl in her mid 20′s said she was looking forward to watching the Bionic Woman. I said I wonder if Lindsey Wagner will make a guest appearance. She asked why would the sleep number lady make an appearance. I said she was the original Bionic Woman. My coworker said This is a remake??? I said Yup.
I felt so old…
Talk to ya’ll later!

Hi All,
just came back from my neices 1st birthday party. I need a little cheering up right now because I want to have a party for my little girl too
September 29th, 2007 at 9:37 pm
Just went to Borders this evening and discovered that their new, special edition American Girl dolls include Julie, from 1974, and her best friend Ivy, who is a Chinese girl.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:37 pm

For the grilled pizzas……I buy these individual pizza crusts that are kinda pre-cooked at the supermarket, brush the top with a bit of “e.v.o.o.” (extra virgin olive oil) add some homemade sauce from our local italian market and just put out tons of different toppings and let everyone customize their own. When they are assembled, I put them on a pre-heated grill on low heat and about 10 minutes later….voila! They get a wonderful smoky/grilled flavor and are fun for kids and adults.
hint: if your crust is browning to quickly just place the pizzas on top of some foil……
September 29th, 2007 at 9:38 pm
Does anyone watch Prison Break, Love the show. It’s amazing how they could keep a show going called Prison Break lol
September 29th, 2007 at 9:39 pm
Oh, I will watch Grease, Dirty Dancing, You’ve got mail, Sleepless in Seattle and When Harry Met Sally over and over and over and over and over-my dh also groans and leaves the room because he knows I won’t change the channel!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:40 pm
((((Emmy)))
Hugs to you. I remember going to my niece’s birthday party and feeling like I’d never have one for my daughter. Well, that was 5 years ago (seems like yesterday) and my daughter (Yunnan province) is turning 4 next month!
It will happen for you too :)
Erica
September 29th, 2007 at 9:40 pm
Too funny!!! I am hooked on those MTV shows also, my DH makes fun of me all of the time……:)
September 29th, 2007 at 9:41 pm
My kids love Hannah Montana and the Suite Life. I think I have seen every episode at least 10 times! When I have to travel out of town, I find myself turning it on in the background while I work just to make it feel somewhat like home.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:42 pm
Lillyannsmommy,
If I could be “made” in to something, I’d want to be a runner. Or a singer.
Or even the people at CCAA that get to do the matching. Think about it…how rewarding would it be to know that you matched a child to his/her parents?! Too cool!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:42 pm
gee what is it like to watch a whole program on TV? My DH is always flipping the channels when commericials come on
September 29th, 2007 at 9:44 pm
and what about the movie “The Wedding Singer”? Seems like TBS plays that every other week. I swear I’ve seen that movie a hundred times and still laugh my butt off!
Erica
September 29th, 2007 at 9:45 pm
Emmy,
I never have to worry about hubby changing the channels. He’s not allowed to have the remote!
When he does have the remote, it’s always on ESPN (yuck!). Why do the announcers always sound like they’re yelling?!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:46 pm
Made???? How about a rock star? Who mentioned the Twilight series was it? I love vampire, werewolf, etc books among many others. What’s the first in the series? I’m going to have to go look for it.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:46 pm
gonnagetkayli,
Do I detect a Rachael Ray junkie?? The e.v.o.o. is so Rachael.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:46 pm
My dh does the same thing-we rarely come back to the same show because another one will catch his attention
September 29th, 2007 at 9:47 pm
I LOVE Hannah Montanna…I think more than my kids do. But do you know my kids favorite channel to watch is the Food Network. They love Rachel Ray and Good Eats.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
Jay…., I have been known to watch some of her stuff. I think she is a great realistic and everyday cook!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:48 pm

September 29th, 2007 at 9:54 pm
My DD is the same way. Every day when she gets home from school she has to turn on Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana. It is sad that in the first 20sec I can tell what the show is about. Her favorite movie is High School Musical 1&2..
Yeah it’s really bad when we turn the disney channel on in the car and I can sing the songs.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:56 pm
Oh yes I love Prison Break. Nice looking leading men too! But that’s a great show with tons of suspense and the story line is great! You’re right…who would’ve thought a show like that could keep going and going and going ….
September 29th, 2007 at 9:56 pm
Anybody catch the new USA channel series Burn Notice? I caught the last few episodes and got hooked! It was a summer series and ended a few weeks ago but they are starting with re-rums (oops, freudian slip!)… Very engaging charecters..
September 29th, 2007 at 9:57 pm
tryingtobepatient, I looooooooove Prison Break. I discovered it late, so I rented the first two seasons on DVD, this was good cause I could fast forward through all of the gross parts. I know teach a class on Monday nights, so I watch it online the next day. This is the only way I could cope and stay sane waiting for my referral-a great distraction-especially with the quick fix of watching one episode right after another.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:57 pm
jay…., she does have some great recipes!! One of our favs was the strawberry and grilled chicken salad with the strawberry/balsamic vinegarette. Yummo!! ha ha
September 29th, 2007 at 9:58 pm
chinagirl07 – The series is currently on the New York Best Times best selling list. However, it is in the category of Young Adult. However, don’t let the categorization fool you. I haven’t met a grown woman yet that hasn’t liked these books. The first book is called “Twilight”. The second book is called “New Moon”. The third book came out about a month ago and it is called “Eclipse”. Happy reading! They are great!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:00 pm
Who’s your favorite leading man of Prison Break? Michael is sweet and cute. But Suchre is HOT, HOT, HOT(okay, I still have this slumber party thing down)

Have to agree Suchre is such a hottie, but Michael and his brother are good to. Any Desperate House Wives fans. Can’t wait until Sunday.

September 29th, 2007 at 10:08 pm
My son, not from Florida at all, LOVES the Gators, has been a fan for years!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:09 pm
Hi Night Owls!
tv premiers: I watched Boston Legal (still good, but a lot of the guy eye candy is gone…Brad), Ugly Betty, very good epi, and interesting plot technique at end. Plus, one of the Mode employees finds out (in keeping with the farce quality of the show) that she is adopted. They do use the term real parents, but in the tone of this show, I didn’t find it offensive.
Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money sound good. Tivo’d DSM, have yet to watch it.
Has anyone heard of or read the book “Digging to America” by Anne Tyler. I am reading it in between chasing our newly 2 yr old daughter around. I recommend it, even though it centers on Korean adoptees.
We just got fingerprinted in Phila today, for DD #2.
we waited 13 mos. from log in to ref. the first time, now it is what it is, or will be!Bonne chance to all !
September 29th, 2007 at 10:09 pm
Hey how about those Mets? I really hope they make it other wise I am gonna have a tuff time at work on Monday. I work with a bunch of Yankee fans.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:09 pm
I thought it may be fun to participate in the slumber party tonight but I am tired from laughing at the fainting goats video clip.
Pardon my yawn. . . . DD is sick so I didn’t sleep last night. Hopefully I can catch up on sleep tonight.
Have fun everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:10 pm
anyone know when “lost” is coming back on?
September 29th, 2007 at 10:11 pm
DAAANG IT!! We get the ball and throw it away… I swear I JINX the Gators, they lose everytime I happen to watch a game, maybe I should turn the TV off!!
Did anyone watch Survivor China? I was so bored I didn’t bother with the second episode. (Oh, and now my spam word IS china!)
September 29th, 2007 at 10:13 pm
I can’t watch the Gators play either just got to know the final score:-)
September 29th, 2007 at 10:14 pm

Hi ‘Trying to be patient:

Who is the new woman in the promo? I have seen her before, can’t place which show.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:16 pm

September 29th, 2007 at 10:16 pm
June-that is on my “next to read” book list-it sound interesting
September 29th, 2007 at 10:16 pm
Michael and his brother and Suchre are soooo smokin’ hot I agree!!! It’s bad to say but I also teach a college English class at night and gave a final earlier in the evening so I could make it home for the season premiere! Hehehe. (Oh yeah I took a part-time job in addition to my full-time day job to try and make this wait go by faster. Hmm. Don’t know if that’s working as well as I thought!) Anyway, my classes start again next week. Thank goodness on Tues and Thursday nights so I don’t miss my hot TV men!
Anyone like Criminal Minds? I’m a big Law and Order fan too. I thought that show was a spin-off, but it’s a great show too!

I wonder if they usually update around a certain time?
September 29th, 2007 at 10:20 pm
For the Hanna Montanta fans, my nephew is the bass player in the group “the Jonas brothers”. They just signed with Disney and now they are going places. Well one of the boys in the band goes out with Hanna Montana in real life !!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:20 pm
Ok, here’s pathetic for you….. I was on a blind date tonight (a VERY boring one, I might add) and all I could think of is getting back home to tune into the cyber slumber party. I swear I was ready to stab my eyes out with a chopstick tonight. Glad to be home in my jammies with all of you.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:24 pm
We are watching the U.S.C. game tonight….I’ll keep checking in to see what’s going on!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:25 pm
Hi, MilitaryBrat,
I watch Criminal Minds. DH & I were surprised that the lead character (Mandy Pakatin? actor’s name) is leaving.
Shemar Moore was on the soap I watch.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:25 pm
Lisa – I recently had an “I feel old” experience too. I was talking with a 20 something and an ad for Mr. Bean came on the radio. He said that he couldn’t believe they were bringing Mr. Bean back. I asked him who Mr. Bean was (and later remembered seeing a preview for the movie a while back). I told him the voice on the radio reminded me of Mr. Bill from Saturday Night Live. He knew SNL but had no idea who Mr. Bill was….
Speaking of baseball…we were at the Rockies game last night. It was a good game even though they lost and ended their winning streak. Just checked in on the scoreboard and they are up 11-1 in the 6th. Wow, what a change from last night!!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:27 pm
We are still trying to get over our addiction to Gilmore Girls! I even got my DH hooked, although he didn’t like to admit it. I loved that show! I miss Rory and Lorilei!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:27 pm
Hey ya’ll. Just signed on. How’s the slumber party going?

We don’t get to go to the movies much, or for that matter watch movies at home. We usually have on the Disney Channel as well or some form of child entertainment (ha ha)
However, we did rent Wild Hogs last weekend and that movie was so funny! It isn’t child material, but if you need a good laugh, and I think we all do right now, check it out. I laughed out loud many, many times.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:30 pm
Thanks Browneyes….going to check ‘em out tomorrow!
Ramfam…….are you serious…that’s so cool!! My son loves Jonas Brothers and the world stops when they come on!!
mcwannab….all I can do is laugh hysterically….i actually started laughing out loud when I read that!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:31 pm
LOVE Ugly Betty (I used to work at Conde Nast, and whoever’s doing the show has done a wonderful job of sending up the company). The ending of that ep made me cry…all through the episode I thought, “What a copout,” so I got snookered. I had steeled myself for some awful adoption talk with that whole plot twist, but it was remarkably not so bad. (And I am pretty sensitive about it.)
I’m looking forward to Desperate Housewives as well…the woman in question is Dana, er…can’t remember the last name. She was on China Beach and in a few movies.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
Hiya Lisa! I know it. The head FBI lady has it out for what’s his name – can’t think of his name right now. I hope the team doesn’t break up. OOOOOhh….speaking of team.. any House lovers out there? As in Hugh Laurie, the miserly M.D. everyone can’t hate but love (just a little?)
September 29th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
Blackjack,
Tx, for sharing. I gotta say I went back to my desk feeling like her grandmother…
When does the CCAA update their site. I may have to go to go to bed soon.
I’m falling asleep while I’m reading Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix…
Lisa.

June, I didn’t see the promo, Can’t wait to see the new woman. Do you think Edy will live or die?
September 29th, 2007 at 10:40 pm
Chinablue-
Greetings!
I don’t think I’ve seen your name in the Nov. 05 LID private forum. You would’ve enjoyed chatting with us! I also have an 11-30 LID and I’m waiting for the CCAA site to change. Just need some extra confirmation I guess.
As far as TV shows I seem to be all about CBS. I love CIS, Criminal Minds, Without a Trace, Shark, Cold Case, Survivor, etc.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:40 pm
mcwannb, sorry about you dud date but we are glad that you did not hurt your eyes with a chopstick cuz’ it would have been mighty tough to follow the party…….

September 29th, 2007 at 10:43 pm
Love that grouchy old “House” I think that show is great as well.
Speaking of grouchy, thats what I am going to be in the morning if I don’t get to bed. So, good luck to all November and December. I will be here as soon as I rise to see the good news!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:46 pm
Anybody else disgusted by all the underwear on Survivor? It is so unfair that the women have to wear all those dresses, I thought on the first epi. Then they took them off!! Sorry, the show is fun, but I don’t want to look at peoples’ underwear for an hour.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:47 pm
Signing off now.
Have fun everyone. I hope to see all of November 05′ LID’s referred. AND some of December 05′ LID’s referred.
Good luck to everyone!!
Have fun tonite.
Lisa.
OH, 1 last question — since DH & I have a long road ahead of us, how often is there a Cyber Slumber Party.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:49 pm
krj –
I am in O Town.
I keep refreshing this site, then CCAA, then checking the score. :-)
September 29th, 2007 at 10:51 pm
goingtochina08- when’s your LID? I’m only 6m old! My big sis lives in O-town…
September 29th, 2007 at 10:53 pm
Hey all, just checking in. DH and I did some yardwork, until the sun went down and sat outside and drank a beer. Happy early october fest! I love Law and Order (original and Criminal Intent are my favs). Here’s hoping we see a change to at least 12/5/05!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:53 pm
Ok, I said I wouldn’t be joining you (mainly because I can’t stay up too late tonight since I haven’t slept well lately) Anyway, i wanted to let people know about a book I was reading in Borders (while I was waiting for my tires to be changed on my car). It’s called “China Ghosts, My Daughter’s Journey to America, My passage to fatherhool.” It’s written by Jeff Gammage. Has anyone read it? I couldn’t put it down. It was soooo good. It’s about a journalist and his wife who decide to adopt from China after 18 years of marriage (and no children of their own). I didn’t get to finish reading it but I will probably order it from Amazon.
It’s fascinating because it’s told from a father’s perspective. He writes in such a way that you really feel as if you were in the room with him. The scene where he and his wife are going into the room to meet their child is so moving. Anyway. I highly recommend it.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:54 pm
I watched the first show only of Survivor and was a bit annoyed when they all acted surprised that they were getting dropped off and had to wear the clothes they had on.
I was thinking, haven’t they ever seen this show? If I were a contestant on Survivor, I would show up in camping gear and hiking boots, not a slinky dress and high heels!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:56 pm
China Beach was one of the best shows ever! Can’t tell you how many times I cried watching that program. I wish they would put it out on DVD – I check Amazon every so often to see if they do but so far no luck.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:56 pm
waitingforlaurali, I recently received that book and have really been enjoying it as well!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:57 pm
DiRedJewles, YES I am so sick of watching people walk around in their underwear…especially so early on in the show. Usually they wait till it’s at least halfway through before they really start looking grungy. I understand that they only had the clothes on their backs but BLECH! Cover up!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:58 pm
waitingforlaurali-
I’ll have to get that book, sounds really good…
September 29th, 2007 at 10:59 pm
Pick up The Nanchang Diaries, also written from Dad’s perspective and SO heartfelt and seriously hilarious!! Easy, short read too, couldn’t put it down either.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:59 pm
Hi, I can’t stay away.
deredjewels–I’m w/you on the underwear issue on Survivor. I don’t need to see it. And come on, ladies going on Survivor: you know you won’t get to bring your suitcase to “camp” so wear some active type clothing. AND another thing, why doesn’t anyone know how to make fire on the 1st episode. Again, you get chosen for the show, look up on the internet how to make fire…DH says that every season.
I finally watched CANE, I thought it was ok.
Lisa.

ramfam~ As my DD would say. They are hotties. And that comes from a 7 yr old.. LOL
September 29th, 2007 at 11:03 pm
Hi Everyone….Just dropped in :-)
You know those pathetic little goats have been making me chuckle all day!
Favorite TV show for the moment: “Dancing with the stars”….also LOVED “So you think you can dance” when it was on…..
Favorite Movie: Pride and Prejudice….the 6 hour version by A&E….
mcwannab….sorry about the date!
Feeling old: How about when you go to for a check-up and the high schooler who walks through the door is actually your doctor!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:04 pm
I was given a book to read by my good friend called A Treasury of Adoption Miracles by Karen Kingsbury-it only has about 156 pages and 12 families tell about their adoption stories-one of the stories from the author herself telling about the adoption of her three Haitian sons-I thought it was a very good book. Anyone else read it?
September 29th, 2007 at 11:05 pm
blueeyes, I’m with you. I miss my Gilmore Girls! Did you know “Luke” is going to be the father in Aliens in America on the CW Monday night? And “Sukie” is going to be on Samantha Who? on ABC Oct. 15. “Lorelei” recently signed a 7 figure deal with NBC to do a yet unwritten show, hopefully in 2008! There was a little rumor that some of the stars would be open to a Gilmore movie too, that would be great. So, although the show is over, at least we can follow some of them to new shows.
There ya go, my Gilmore trivia for the evening. (Is my addiction showing?)
Jo
September 29th, 2007 at 11:09 pm
Hey all – Just checking in during a few down moments of family weekend here!
I miss Gilmore girls too, but the last season was so not up to par with the rest of the seasons! Otherwise I can’t join the conversation cause I can’t read all the comments!
Guess how many times at a family party of about 50-60 guests I had to answer the question “Do you have your information yet??” (Yeah, like I wouldn’t tell them as soon as I walked in the room if I did!)…and many times from people I don’t even know how I’m related to them, beyond the “by marriage” at the end of the relationship! If I had taken a shot each time, I’d be in the hospital for alcohol poisoning!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:10 pm
hey RQ how are you doing at this slumber party? first for me!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:10 pm
Well all, I have to check out. I sincerely hope to wake up to wonderful news.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:12 pm
Hi
I’m so excited to be here. This is my first cyber party. My favorite TV shows are Medium, Law and Order SVU, and Meerkat Manor. I’m an 80′s girl. I was convinced that I would marry John Taylor of Duran Duran. Ha Ha
September 29th, 2007 at 11:12 pm
Any SVU fans out there? I really like this one the best of the Law and Order shows. Although, over the summer I rented and watched the first 3 seasons of OZ and the guy who plays Elliet on SVU was a psychopath in OZ. There were several scenes showing him totally naked in OZ, and I just couln’t get this out of my head while watching SVU this week (in a good way). Anyone else have this “problem”?
September 29th, 2007 at 11:13 pm
tduffy… SVU is my all time fave show! And I was a Duran sqaured and was sure I’d mary LeBon!! That is SO funny…
September 29th, 2007 at 11:13 pm
Lisa, thought you went to bed!
Thanks for the understanding about the underwear. I totally agree with you, too. And, by now you’d think they’d all have one of just a few types of strategies, since almost the same type of person wins every time. But there is always a few people who just can’t help themselves from being so annoying. I didn’t like the wrestler woman, but I like the so-called leader less. He IS patronizing.
Jodi
September 29th, 2007 at 11:14 pm
krj – I’m running around taking care of stuff and not doing a lot of talking. I’m listening in, though.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:20 pm
While your chatting..check out the discussion thread on the forum regarding Half the Sky..there is a vote to help support Half the Sky and children running in the Olympics running with the torch…I say that would be a great statement to send about how great IA is..have a look please if you have time..
Good Luck with everything…I am crossing my fingers for December!!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:20 pm
We don’t have a TV so I can’t comment on the shows you’re all talking about, but the fainting goats remind me of one of our horses. Every time we do something new with him, like put on a new saddle, or a new fly mask, he lays down flat out and his eyes glaze over. Seems his thoroughbred brain just can’t handle anything new. He’s such an oaf!
With a Dec. 12/05 LID, I sure hope they make it into December.
China4
September 29th, 2007 at 11:21 pm
tduffy~ I had to jump on this one. In the 80′s John Taylor was MY man. All my friends in school and a favorite and we called eachother by their nicknames. Went to their concerts when they came to town. I was so sure that he would notice me and we would marry. LOL
September 29th, 2007 at 11:21 pm
I’m a big SVU fan. I loved the season opener. Cynthia Nixon was perfect. I have seen Oz in the past. Elliot scares me in OZ. I think there are several actors I have seen on SVU from OZ.
KRJ-did you get to see Duran Duran last tour? I never got to see them in the 80′s but I got a chance last tour.

September 29th, 2007 at 11:23 pm
The show about the time travelor is JourneyMan, great story, really well acted. (Finally remembered! You’d think I was menopausal!)
Also, the Dr Who opener was like a movie, much more complex plot than usual, loved it.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:24 pm
Catherinethegreat: you rock!!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:25 pm
You guys are so funny. When I was a kid I had the biggest crush on “Little Joe” from Bonanza. My age is showing, ha!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:25 pm
just poppin’ in to wish all you good luck! Here’s a crazy thing – I stopped at my favorite deli tonight to pick up dinner. I ordered 6 cookies. Counter girl says,”if you buy 6, you get 6 free.” I said no thanks, I don’t want that many (because I’ll eat them all!) She said, “I HAVE to give you 6 for free, if you buy 6.” But I don’t want 12 cookies! She said, “sorry, you are only allowed to buy 5.
I gave up, and left with only 5 cookies!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:26 pm
Oh yeah, I love SVU….I had stopped watching it though for a couple of seasons and watched it this week and really liked it! Was that the season premier or just a repeat? The one with Cynthia Nixon.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:27 pm
Does anyone watch Meerkat Manor? Last night’s episode had me and my son in tears.
angeleyes-you crack me up. It sounds like me and my girlfriends. Have you seen the movie with Drew Barrymore I think it is called Music and Lyrics?
Theresa
September 29th, 2007 at 11:29 pm
Hey grover, me too! I wasn’t a huge Bonanza fan but I watched it for him!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:29 pm
oh, sorry Gator fans…… a field goal just won it for Auburn.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:31 pm
dang it!!!!!!! I swear I need to ban myself from watching… and here I thought the coach was so brilliant with that last time out… and then I thought, “we’ll block it like we did with Ohio at the Championship game”.. oh well, I’ll never stop yelling Go Gators, but this town is gonna be depressed for the next 24 hours!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:33 pm
Mcwannab
I never missed an episode of Oz. I loved the characters. It was an extremely violent show, but I could not stop watching it. kind of like a car accident. You know you should not look but you cannot help yourself.
I also love the tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, sandra Bullock, Billy crystal feel good movies. And at 41 I have to admit I love Disney channel movies. Rip Girls and Johnny Sunani are my favorites.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:34 pm
So, historically, on the day the CCAA does update their site, by what time has it normally been posted??
September 29th, 2007 at 11:35 pm
tduffy~ Get this remember John had his bangs highlighted/bleached. Well so did I. The hat him and krj’s (future hubby back then) Simon wore in the video “hungry like the wolf” My friend wore one at every concert. My walls were covered. I showed my daughter a group pic of them. Her first comment was “that girl playing the keyboard sure is ugly” When I told her it was a guy and that is how most wore their hair back then she looked at me like I was nuts. I can’t believe I am talking about this. LOL
Spam word CCAA.. Come on with the news!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:38 pm
Manda that is too funny well at least you won’t be able to eat 6!
Favorite show Greys Anatomy which I missed the first show this week, so I will have to watch on the web. I love anything on HGTV especially Flip This House.
Hoping the CCAA post the cut off and its well into December. A girl can dream, right.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:38 pm
tduffy-my 2 1/2 year old nephew loves meerkat manor-he watches it every time it is on..My mother went to pick him up to watch him the other and as they passed this particular house, he said “Grandma, I see a meerkat…there’s a meerkat, grandma.” She cannot figure out what he is seeing in this persons yard that he thinks it is a meerkat-he will only make this statement when they pass this certain house-which is about 3-4 times a week…I asked her did they have a statue or did he see a regular cat and she said that there was not anything in the yard at all…hmmm..He is soooo precious…
September 29th, 2007 at 11:39 pm
Saw this movie trailer recently when I was at the movies – it looks like a great movie – it’s called The Martian Child – about a man who takes in a little boy who thinks he is from Mars.

September 29th, 2007 at 11:42 pm
Okay… this is embarrasing to admit. I had over 300 posters (26 large)- they not only covered all my walls, but the ceiling too, 196 pins, imported EPs from the UK (not to mention every album they made), 3 books on them (from Japan, my cousin brought them back for me) a fedora, of course, those ridiculous felt boots and “planet earth” pants, and like you guys mentioned, used to be called “Le Bon” by my friends, did the whole assymetrical hair cut and had my bangs died blonde too! I switched guys I liked (in the band) every few months. Even Andy got to my heart when I SWEAR he blew ME a kiss at the end of one of their concerts (we were second row center)… when I look back on it, seriously? I think I needed medication for my obsession… :O)
Now… back to our regular programming! COME ON CCAA… now that the Gators lost, SURELY it will be balanced by good news from China!!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:42 pm
krj I don’t think there has been a pattern to what time the site changes. I remember once it happened around 10:30pm once and 12:30am one other time when we had a cyber party. So who knows when it will change only the CCAA knows for sure.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:43 pm
good question krj…..someone mentioned the time when they did their most recent update in the review room but I forgot what it was….
September 29th, 2007 at 11:44 pm
Angeleyes-you have my laughing so hard. I had my hair like Nick Rhodes. I dyed it orange and had it cut v shaped. My bedroom room was plastered in Duran Duran posters. I never got to see them in the 80′s. I was 15 when they toured with Seven and the Ragged Tiger. My parents did not want to take me. That must have been wonderful to see them in thier heyday.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:46 pm
I hate to say how long I have been a gator fan, it would age me terribly, but It’s ME that jinkes them in the big games, I have been doing it for YEARS. The team I love to hate!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:48 pm
grover – yes Little Joe was cute. I recall having a thing for Davey Jones from the Monkees. And I recently shared, to great delight of my almost 6-year-old son who now knows these characters, that I also had a crush (or whatever you can have with an animated character) on Kimba the white lion and Speed Racer. My son thinks that is hilarious!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:48 pm
Kim 532
That was an amazing video!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:50 pm
KRJ I think you are the Duran Duran Queen. It is fun to take a wak down memory lane with fellow obsessed Duran Duran fans.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:51 pm
Another 80′s girl here. I too saw Duran Duran in 1984 in Greensboro NC. sorry but I was going to marry John. God, could he have been any hotter??
Just up and occassionally checking in and had to give my shout out to all the 80′s folks out there. My husband threw me a 40th birthday party in March and I requested all 80′s music and especially some Duran Duran. I tell you another band I LOVED in the 80′s Van Halen their 84 Jump tour was awesome and The Cars. I know the singer was not very attractive. Can you believe he married a model. But, their music epitimizes 80′s music to me.
All right come on CCAA all of us reminiscing old farts are only getting older every month.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:54 pm
Go Tigers, Wildcats, and Knights tonight, WOO-HOO!! I have been waiting for a season like this longer than I’ve been waiting for a referral!!
September 29th, 2007 at 11:58 pm
tduffy-
I tell you it was a SICKNESS! Though my parents would argue it was better than getting addicted to drugs… :O)
September 30th, 2007 at 12:01 am
KRJ.. I had posters on my ceiling as well. Just did not want to mention that part before. LOL
I had every magazine they were in and saved them till I was 21. Tiger Beat I think was one of my favorites. I wore the pins all the time and told my mom that I wanted to be in their videos so bad that she needed to help me out. LOL
tduffy~ Just between you and me I bleached my hair for John so much that I did not believe that if I went swimming that anything would happen. Boy was I wrong my bangs turned pee green. I refused to go to school like that but my mom told me I had to and that might teach me a lesson.
My first time to see them I was 15 and my mom said I could only go if she went with us. That was so embarrassing, but she got us 1st row tickets so I could not pass it up. To this day I remember John making his way to our side of the stage and flirting with my mom. I was so upset with her for the longest time. All she kept saying was. “He knows a good lookin woman when he sees one” GULP
September 30th, 2007 at 12:07 am
OK kids,
Need to go to bed… Here’s a wish that the CCAA update in the morning will take us to 12/5/05
September 30th, 2007 at 12:08 am
Come on CCAA!!!! I hope this place is celebrating in the morning. I’m thinking good thoughts for everyone…
September 30th, 2007 at 12:09 am
Krj~ I also had poster all over my ceiling. If I could hang them on the walls down the hall I would have. I kept every magazine they were in till I was 21. I colored my hair so much that I never believe if I went swimming anything would happen. Boy was I wrong. I was so upset that I did not want to go to school, but my mom said I had to that might teach me a lesson.
My first concert with them I am 15. My mom told me that I could go if she went as well. How embarrassing, but she got us fromt row seats so I could not pass that up. To this day I remember John making his way to our side of the stage and him flirting with her. I was so upset that I did not speak to her for a few days. All she could say was “He knows a good lookin woman when he sees one” GULP!!
September 30th, 2007 at 12:13 am
blackjack, Go Speed Racer Go!!! and Davey Jones with the star sparkle in his eyes, dreamy!
September 30th, 2007 at 12:15 am
I’m heading to bed too. LID 1/4/06 but it’s too addicting not to find out!!!
Does the CCAA work on Sunday often??? Just curious.
I don’t watch TV, I only read RUMOR QUEEN! LOL.
I was addicted to The Sopranos…but now they are off the air…sniff! I haven’t found a new love. We liked to watch CSI Miami, but haven’t seen that in a while…
Have a good evening! Eat some Smores for me later LOL.
September 30th, 2007 at 12:18 am
Angeleyes-
How funny the love of your life flirting with mom. I think if that happen to me back then I would have exploded. I was one crazy fan. I think John Taylor married a lady who is older than him. Imagine John Taylor as your stepfather?
September 30th, 2007 at 12:22 am
Gross!
I’m joing in for a while. Hey krj, did you say you were in Fl? Iam in North central fl, sorry loss for the Gators, but maybe it will put some fire in ‘em for next week, and you have to admit that kicker for Auburn did good
September 30th, 2007 at 12:22 am
I’m signing off for the night, see ya’ll in the AM
September 30th, 2007 at 12:23 am
Yes he did she is 7 yrs older then him. His first wife was born in 72′ same year as me so I do not see what the problem was. Hello I was very cute and available at the time. As for being my stepdad..
September 30th, 2007 at 12:24 am
Angeleyes… that is HILARIOUS!!! I still can’t believe my mom let me go to the concert with friends (at 15 too)… Seven and The Ragged Tiger tour. My friend’s mom was a tour bus driver and dropped us off (not for Duran Duran, Sheila E., the opening band).
Such hysterical memories of almost FAINTING when they came on stage!!
I saw on i-tunes that they just released a new CD, and I was like, “Oh no way”.. it’s really bad…(listened to a sample).
September 30th, 2007 at 12:26 am
asiwait… I’m in the heart of Gatorville itself… it will be a sad day here tomorrow! where are you?
angeleyes.. I wrote this long reply to you, I’m cracking up about your mom and the conert… I went at 15 too but with friends, my mom was insane letting us do that!
September 30th, 2007 at 12:27 am
Yes he did she is 7 yrs older then him. His first wife was born in 72′ Same as me. And they have a child together. I was very cute and available, so I do not see what the problem was. As for being my stepdad..
September 30th, 2007 at 12:27 am
Yeah.. Auburn won fair and square, especially after that bogus call against them (interfering with a catch on a punt, that WE CAUGHT.. hellooooo)….it was such a good game. And thankfully we bounce back quick!
September 30th, 2007 at 12:29 am
hey RQ… what are the odds we won’t see the CCAA site change tonite?
September 30th, 2007 at 12:29 am
Ocala.
My mom took me to a Journey concert in Detroit, MI. It was awesome, but we were way in the back. And she made me get up for school the next morning!!
C’mon CCAA….we are waiting!!

September 30th, 2007 at 12:34 am
asiwait… only 2 months in front of you, LID 4.4.07, we’re rowing this slow boat to China together :O)
September 30th, 2007 at 12:35 am
Kjr-
My sister-in-law graduated from Gatorville. I have been to several Gator Growls late 80′s. That was a wild time. We have a good friend who still lives in Gainesville. I grew up in Coral Springs, FL.
September 30th, 2007 at 12:35 am
My kids are zonked out, but they would ask, “Are we there yest?”

September 30th, 2007 at 12:35 am
tduffy… where are you now and what is your LID?
September 30th, 2007 at 12:38 am
krj-
2 months of LIDs could mean an 8 month longer wait for me (esspecially since I have to wait through the infamous May 07), but maybe you can hook me up with your DDs hand me downs:)
September 30th, 2007 at 12:39 am

I now live in Allen, Texas. LID 12/12/06
How about you?
September 30th, 2007 at 12:42 am
It’s 12:51 pm Beijing time now. Still lots of time for them to update the site after lunch!
September 30th, 2007 at 12:44 am
Hi,
Glad to see the slumber parties back in action. While I was waiting for my referral ( 11/18/05) I missed those days!! I was roaming the house, w/o sleep, wishing I had someone to speak with!! Now, I will be up with a recent arrival (11/28).
Who will most likely wake the same as last night, 3:15 am. Good Luck waiting families. This may sound trite, but trust me, no matter how long the wait, it is worth it. I won’t bore you with the details, but my wait for a daughter was long due to significant issues, however, my Kate, was just wiating for me to get there!!! My best to all and just feeling sentimental after being home just a day!!

tduffy~ We live in the DFW area. LID 11-22-06
September 30th, 2007 at 12:44 am
asiwait… sure thing on the hand me downs, but I believe with all my heart they will one day get back to full months! I was married and we cancelled that adoption in July of 05… we were LID 2/18/05 and referrals came Sept 3rd 05… it is SO freaky to me that we’re STILL working on that SAME YEAR.
Anyway, what goes up must come down!!
tduffy.. I’m planning a move to dallas/ft worth area in the next 3 to 5 years (whole family is moving back).
I’m LID 4.4.07, end of the line too… :) Your LID is my BDAY.. and I’ll be FORTY this year… woo hoo??
September 30th, 2007 at 12:46 am
Why do my posts keep getting bumped?
Moving to DFW area in next 2 to 5 years, used to live in Arlington.
LID 4.4.07…
asiwait, you can have the hand me downs, but I swear one day they’ll get back to full months!!
September 30th, 2007 at 12:48 am
Most of mine were getting bumped as well.
I grow up in Arlington.
September 30th, 2007 at 12:48 am
okay guys, my eyes are burning… time to crash… it’s almost 1am here…
I’ll be getting on my knees for the early December people before I crash!! Here’s to hoping for great news in the AM!!
September 30th, 2007 at 12:49 am
Krj and Angeleyes
How is this for ironic. My friend just e-mailed to tell me that Duran Duran is making a video for thier new single. I guess it is a video like the unrated version of Girls on Film and The Chuaffeur. I do think they are getting a bit old for that.
September 30th, 2007 at 12:50 am
angeleyes…
wish I could give out my email address but don’t feel comfy doing that here… i have some other friends in the DFW area that just passed their 1yr LID anniversary. My sis never left Irving. I look forward to the move one day, it’s time to leave Gainesville… long story, divorce, cancelled first adoption (believe it or not, our referral would have been Sept 05 just 6m after our LID and here we are STILL working on that month!)…
Okay… off to bed… it was cool doing this, a first for me…
September 30th, 2007 at 12:50 am
I have not watched any of the new shows on TV. Does anyone play any games on the net? I love, bookworm, zuma, and bejeweled…
krj-are you remembering to put in the spam word? I got anxious a couple of times and hit submit with out typing in the words, also it’s late and I cannot type or remember
September 30th, 2007 at 12:52 am
tduffy…. LOVE your “understatement” of how they are getting too old for that- SO TRUE. God I’d forgotten about those longer special videos. My fave video though was Save A Prayer…
Okay… really going now. You guys are making it hard!
September 30th, 2007 at 12:52 am
Ok I just saw a youtube interview with JT but it would be interesting to see how the others have aged.
September 30th, 2007 at 12:53 am
Yes on the spam word, everytime and I just wrote this big reply to tduffy that was hilarious (re the new DD video)…
oh well. They are too old for it tduffy….
I’ve never played any of those games. Gotta go get some sleep.
Night guys.
September 30th, 2007 at 12:54 am
asiwait-I love playing bookworm and bejeweled..Anything to help pass the time and relieve the tensions
September 30th, 2007 at 12:55 am
You all are making me feel young again talking about Duran Duran. I really liked them also. I saw Rick Springfield in concert about two weeks ago. He still looked HOT and was rocking out some of his old songs.
September 30th, 2007 at 12:57 am
angeleyes- Wow we could almost be travel buddies. My log in date was suppose to be 11/22/06. My agency wanted a letter from my husband’s employer stating his job was secure. We were told by our agency that when our paperwork is in review they look for that and did not want us to have any problems. You live in the DFW area? I’m excited.
September 30th, 2007 at 12:57 am
I AM LOGGED IN ON 1-27-2006. ANYONE ELSE HERE IN JANUARY?
September 30th, 2007 at 12:57 am
lindy~ I saw him in comcert about 3 yrs ago. I agree he still looks good.
September 30th, 2007 at 12:57 am
Good night krj.
bluegrass- yes, they do help pass the time. Do you like the music or the country(your name sake)
RQ- are you still around?
September 30th, 2007 at 12:59 am
asiwait-I like the music-especially Allison Kraus, but I am from the Bluegrass state as well…
September 30th, 2007 at 1:01 am
I love Allison and the rest of her family.
September 30th, 2007 at 1:01 am
We could have had an earlier LID, but had alot of issuies with our SW.
Ok Spam word: baby….
September 30th, 2007 at 1:01 am
Hey bluegrass baby ~ I’m also from Kentucky. How about those Wildcats? GO BIG BLUE!!!
September 30th, 2007 at 1:04 am
lindy
My girlfriend mind you almost 40 is in-love with Rick Springfield. Yes, she is happily married. She invited me to see him for the 1st time back in May. Never was a fan. I must admit he put on a great show. Anyway-he walks out into the audience and my friend pinches his rear. She was on cloud nine for days.
September 30th, 2007 at 1:07 am
Lindy- I am so glad the Wildcats have done a complete 360-I hope they have a good rest of the year..You are right-GO BIG BLUE!! They have come a long way from what they used to be-my dh always reminds me ” I watched them when they were losing all their games, not getting the publicity they are now and when no one showed much support for them….”
September 30th, 2007 at 1:07 am
He stood on our table!! We were WILD!!! He has really aged well. I saw him the first time in the mid 80′s. It was my very first concert. I think I was a Sophmore in high school.
September 30th, 2007 at 1:10 am
Bluegrass Baby ~They have struggled for the last few years in football. I am really happy for them. I really like Andre Woodson. He is a great quarterback.
I can’t wait for basketball season. Hopefully, we can regain our reputation with the new coach.
What part of Kentucky do you live in?
September 30th, 2007 at 1:11 am
lindy
I think he looked awesome. He aged very well. My friend said he is almost 60 is that true?
September 30th, 2007 at 1:11 am
The first and only live concert I ever saw was Air Supply and my older brother took me. I really thought I was “big stuff” back then because my brother is older than me by 9 years. I enjoyed their music though..How dated does that make me…..
September 30th, 2007 at 1:12 am
Well, I’ve been checking the CCAA website periodically and there is no change. I think I’m going to call it a night. Good luck to all you early December LID’s.
September 30th, 2007 at 1:12 am
tduffy~ My sister read on a website that he is 58!
September 30th, 2007 at 1:12 am
Hey, I just though of something. My agency is in Kentucky. I guess I cannot name it, but maybe I can tell you that they have a big pinic each summer. Do you know them?
Isn’t this like a real slumber party? Many of the guests fall asleep and a few saty up and talk.
Maybe even our host (RQ are you there?) is a sleep.
September 30th, 2007 at 1:15 am
asiwait~ Sure I know the agency. It is not mine though. They do have a great reputation. I know 2 families that have used them. They had great experiences!!
September 30th, 2007 at 1:15 am
Yeah he’s 58
September 30th, 2007 at 1:15 am
Lindy-we are in the Western part-Tennessee on one side and Illinois on the other–How about you?

DH and I also have a LID of 1-27-06!
September 30th, 2007 at 1:17 am
Bluegrass Baby~ We live in the South Central part of the state. We are near Mammoth Cave.
September 30th, 2007 at 1:18 am
I graduated in 97 so I was one of those Punk babies. My husband even had the foot high mohawk that was flame colored sometimes and blue, green etc. the next. He had this big leather jacket with the Exploited Skull painted on the back with these spikes and chains on it.
We still laugh about that jacket. What’s funny is he bought this motorcycle and it turned cold before we cold buy a winter leather jacket so homie rode to work in the spiked leather jacket for weeks!!! HAHAHA I can’t imagine the looks he got! Especially because his bike was a crotch rocket, not a Harley etc. My husband was the guitarist in a punk band. It’s funny how mellow like jello he is now. You’d never guess ever about his teen years. He’s just happy Dad now!
September 30th, 2007 at 1:18 am
asiwait-not familiar with that agency-we did not use an agency in Ky-we went out of state
Lindy-have you mentioned your LID? Sorry if I missed it…
September 30th, 2007 at 1:19 am
Lindy ~I am always glad to hear good news about my agency. Boy have I learned a lot since I have joined this group. I would have asked a lot more questions and done some more research on agencies if I had known then what I do now.
September 30th, 2007 at 1:20 am
Sorry! I guess I didn’t mention my LID. It is 12-29-06

September 30th, 2007 at 1:25 am
Peace out for me too! I cannot keep my eyes open….
September 30th, 2007 at 1:27 am
I better go to bed too! I have had a long day. My seven year old son had two flag football games AND a soccer game today. Then, we went shopping and out to eat tonight. I am not as young as I used to be and I have to get up for church early in the morning.
Wishing good thoughts and LOTS of referrals!!!
Good night . . . . . .
September 30th, 2007 at 1:28 am
Lindy-My lid is 3-19-07-
asiwait-yeah-hindsight is always 20/20-We would have done things differently if I knew then what I know now-we would have quit hesitating about adoption and started this process earlier-but when you don’t know anybody who had adopted or know what your first step would be-it is somewhat scary-especially since she will be our first child after 19 yrs of marriage
September 30th, 2007 at 1:30 am
I am headed to bed also-I have really had a great time chatting–Good Luck to all you late November ers and hopefully early December ers…
September 30th, 2007 at 1:31 am

My LID is not until April 2007 but I still like to keep track of the days referred because it is that many days closer to our baby girl. Anyway, good luck all late November and early december. we are keeping our fingers crossed for you.

Morning over here. For the first time ever I actually dreamt about the cut-off. I saw a big severe post here saying the cut-off will be 30 nov or 1 dec and absolutly nothing else. Behind the post there was some kind of severe looking fairy good mother swinging her stick. Like something out of Disney´s Cinderella.
RQ, I am really sorry, this has nothing to do with waking life and that is NOT how I imagine you!
Besides, whereas I am happy for all included, I am hoping I am a bad dreamer and that the fairy good mother was wrong.
September 30th, 2007 at 4:43 am

September 30th, 2007 at 5:07 am
Hi Nora! They wouldn’t have a mail pickup on Sundays in China, would they? And Monday is the holiday. Maybe packages went out but they won’t update until they come back from holiday? I don’t know — am just fishing here.
September 30th, 2007 at 5:15 am
Yes, skye06, maybe they’ve been so flat out getting referrals out they just haven’t had time to update their site before they leave. Oh, man I hope so!!
If they don’t get at least SOME of Dec into this batch I can feel a huge hissy fit and chocolate binge coming on…..
September 30th, 2007 at 5:41 am
I don’t belive they will change the site anymore.
I remember someone saying on the board that it is possible to sent packages from China on Sunday, so there is hope.
I still believe that some of December will be in this batch.
Guess I should continue painting the livingroom. I will pop by now and then to check on rumors….
Have a nice day all.
Regards Beate

September 30th, 2007 at 5:42 am
good morning skye06 ! hehehe maybe they took off and forgot to update the site? I have a huge dark chocolate bar at home,
maybe i’ll take a chunck off from it this am , chocolate always makes me happy:D.
September 30th, 2007 at 5:43 am
I am sure they can send packages on a Sunday. They don’t send them through ordinary mail, you know, they use some type of cureer (or however you spell it).
September 30th, 2007 at 5:49 am
Ah, okay about mailing on Sundays. But I wouldn’t think that they’d update until they receive word that packages have arrived – either tracking them online or some kind of confirmation from the agencies. What is it? About two days for the packages to arrive? More fishing. Hang in there, SeaChange!
September 30th, 2007 at 5:58 am
My last message is delayed. Okay about mailing on Sundays – thanks for that; good to know. I need to sleep so I’ll sign off for now – hoping that tomorrow morning there will be good news! Hang in there, SeaChange. Beate, quel courage! I’m sure your living room will look wonderful! G’night and hugs to everyone.
September 30th, 2007 at 7:22 am
Oh, bummer, no update. I would guess they have mailed referrals. But won’t change the site until after their break. Sheesh.
September 30th, 2007 at 7:49 am
So now the agony is prolonged!! How long before we start seeing referrals arriving? Tuesday?
September 30th, 2007 at 7:57 am
5am here, good morning all! 8pm in Beijing on Sunday Sept 30th now. Any chance the web site guy is working a night shift? Looks like they’re keeping us guessing again. Sigh.
September 30th, 2007 at 8:02 am
I think they may have mailed them, but won’t update the site until after the holiday (since they lately haven’t updated it until the agencies have the referrals). It’s possible they updated the internal site though and we’ll hear more from the agencies.
September 30th, 2007 at 8:07 am
Pam,
I like your thinking – hope you’re right!
September 30th, 2007 at 8:22 am
I woke up this morning to find out the Gators had lost and the CCAA did not update their site. The suspense continues.
I truly hope some of December is included in this batch. I also hope that the CCAA enjoys their Holiday so much, they come back and start matching whole months once a month like they used to.
LID 06/07/07
September 30th, 2007 at 8:28 am
Ah, good point about the internal computer system Pam. I agree there’s still a good liklihood the referrals are in the mail. Usually they don’t update until agencies are receiving packages.
