  5. suzielei Says:

All righty then, whatda say we zoom into 2006! I’m ready to test the theory that it was all because Nov 05 was SO BIG….so come on December 05, let’s hope we can we finish up your matches this year! I could really be OK with that!

  6. catherinethegreat Says:

Good luck to all my friends with December 2005 LIDs…Come on 2006!!! My anti-spam word is CCAA..so lets hope they agree!!!

  7. cellule Says:

    Good bye…

  8. Angeleyes_72 Says:

Good Bye Nov. I have my fingers crossed that Dec will fly right by us so we can finally get into 2006

  9. Trace7 Says:

Yes, goodbye November. Even thought I was a November person, I sure got sick of us, too - LOL! Now - I hope December goes by much quicker for everyone. My friends Jason and Amy are NEXT with their 12/5/05 LID, and even though Adam and I will be in China getting our sweet girl around the time they get their referral, I will be checking RQ for updates!!

  10. tellmemore Says:

OK. So this is it everyone. If there is no speed up THIS month, then it ain’t gonna happen in a significant way in the future.

  11. Joliewannabe Says:

Totally agree…this next month is going to tell us A LOT. Fingers crossed over here. I will freak if we see a repeat of Nov and it takes 6 months to get through Dec.

We’re sitting with an LID date of 12/27 and we say: Bring it on!

  12. Angeleyes_72 Says:

tellmemore~ You know a few months ago I would disagree with you but lately I have been thinking the same thing. My spam word is crib, can’t wait to be able to put ours up some day.

  13. strawberryshortcake Says:

Glad to see giving us the news was top of their list for when they got back from vaca…

    Sorry, a bit cynical tonight.

I hope we get the bad case scenario at least. I hope we can eek in at least 1/2 of Dec before we hit 24 months. I really hope for more than that, (all of December), but I’m trying to not set myself up for heartbreak.

Now, shoo! Novemberites - get out of here! Go get those wonderful little kiddos of yours! And, put in a good word with everyone for the rest of us here waiting!

  14. Alexandra Says:

I am sooo glad November is finally done!!!

  21. devorah Says:

OK, I’m slow on the uptake… How can my large China-only agency say:

    1) That they are hopeful for big LID numbers for matches in Dec-Feb (they keep mentioning 1/2 month matches)

and 2) That December will be the first group to hit 24 month waits?

    Can those things go together???

  22. devorah Says:

Wait…I answered my own question! Sigh…

  23. RayRDT Says:

RQ : Can you start another poll for Dec 05, Jan 06 & Feb 06 ? It looks like these are smaller months compared to Nov. 05 (from previous polls). The closer we are to a LID month, the more reliable a poll is …

    Ray xxx.

  24. skye06 Says:

Yup - buh-bye! We’re finally on the flip side of November and I’m exhausted. How about you? It’s like we’ve all been run through a wringer.
Looking forward to what the next few batches will bring to get an idea of how the referrals for 06 LIDs will be - except for March; we know that’s going to be long.

  25. pootiepie Says:

Thank the maker that we are DONE with November 05. It was long, it was painful, and now it’s over. Come on December!!!

  26. karen Says:

Chinatownxpressyc , and what about all of us.You have a lot of friends not only RQ, we understand too!!!

  28. frannysmom Says:

How about the Nov 30th people who didn’t get their referrals? When will they hear anything? I can’t imagine how frustrated they must be.

  29. ramfam Says:

It’s the weirdest feeling to know I soon will meet this little baby girl that has been growing in my heart for over two years. It almost doesn’t feel real. The waiting is what seemed real, since it was so crazy long. But now it’s almost time, and I feel……calm?! I don’t know why? Is it normal? I have two in college, so we are starting all over again at 43!

    12.14.05

  30. lizyrose Says:

Wow. We’ve been on 11/05 pretty much since I logged in in 4/07, at least since I started watching referral dates/numbers. I’m anxious to start seeing more LID’s referred each month - I just need to see some progress!!

  31. heather / homeara Says:

I’m the person in group who did not get their 11/30 LID’s this month. We still have heard nothing. Our agency said that hopefully they would hear something today, but at this point I’m pretty pessimistic and down. I don’t have much faith in our agency anymore, nor the whole system. Sorry for my negativity. Hopefully, IF and WHEN we do hear what happened soon, it can be a tool for other agencies or the CCAA to learn from. Too bad, though, that our group had to be the ones teaching the lesson…

  32. frannysmom Says:

Heather, I think I know the agency you are with and I would have faith they will do what they can. I hope you hear soon–but it seems like it might not be until tomorrow since it is nighttime now in China. I am surprised your agency dir. wasn’t on the phone with them last night. Hang in there. And weren’t there TWO missing groups from diff. agencies or did the other group already hear?

  33. jj2china Says:

No offense to our fellow Novemberites but good riddance.

I am just worried that so many have pinned their hopes on “once November is finished” that if the CCAA continues with 5-7 day batches there are going to be even more depressed people.

  34. lynandjoe Says:

Even if they start referring 1/2 month of LID’s every month, we are still looking at about 2 more years until we get a referral, after already waiting for a year. Our lid is October 16th, 2006. We are in the process of switching to Vietnam because we just can’t wait that long. It’s not something we really wanted to do, but we are excited now that we have made the decision. Thanks RQ for all of your work, you help so many people….I only wish we had found out about your site sooner. Best of luck to everyone and I hope things speed up!!

  35. almostthere1 Says:

Come ON December. Come ON all those November that didn’t get their referrals yet (fingers crossed for you this week that you will be able to rectify all this with your agencies!).

    AT

  36. GotchaBack Says:

Okay, if the next batch shows any promise at all, maybe I can get out of this mental funk……………. this has been one VERY depressing ride as of late…….

  37. china dad 1 Says:

To comment on what tellmemore Says: above.

It will interesting to see what the final 2007 immigrant/ orphan visa numbers are that will come out later this year.

We are now at a time where the CCAA forcasts being quoted were before the childen recently placed were even born. Unless there is a large increase in abandonments in China (dosn’t sound like that is happening in general ) the realistic wait time cannot get lower.

We can only pray that all parents wanting to grow families through IA can do so in a resonable time frame. As much at China hurts right now - I cannot imagine being in a Guatamala program right now. At least we know we will get our child - someday.

  38. lisa Says:

    Bye, November 2005.

I too hope December 2005 is less painful.

Happy & safe travels to all!

  39. KIM1 Says:

DID THEY SEND REFERRALS FOR PEOPLE WITH LID
11-30-2005? THE CCAA SAID THAT THEY DID REFERRALS FOR APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED BEFORE 11-30-2005. AM I READING THIS WRONG? EVERYONE IS SAYING GOODBYE NOVEMBER AND I AM CONFUSED.

    KIM

  40. catherinethegreat Says:

KIM1…Yes, they send out referrals to families with LIDs for November 30 2005. Unfortunately, there was one group (not two) that was completely missed in one agency. Its horrible for them and we all hope it will be rectified ASAP.

    Good bye November…Hello December…..
    HURRY UP 2006…Its time already…

    CTG
    Waiting for TA…

  41. vttoonses Says:

I’m a little confused. If the CCAA is going to take 2 months to process 1 month, then the wait time is going to blow right past 2 years and keep growing. The only way it will stay a consistant 2 years is if, come January, they start referring whole months again.

  42. heather / homeara Says:

We just got news from our agency that the CCAA somehow screwed and did not match our group (even though we were 11/30). They don’t know why. It certainly was not due to anything from reviews or anything. Noone in our group had any problems with that. Apparently we were just skipped over by mistake–perhaps our stuff was put in a wrong pile or something. Needless to say, we were not matched. Furthermore, it is also not known when we will finally get our referrals. But, we assume it won’t be for awhile…..most likely we will get stuck waiting until next month.

Anyway, just sending you all the FYI since some were asking about our outcome.
    -Heather

  43. vttoonses Says:

Our thoughts are with you, Heather.

  44. sks Says:

Does anyone know if the Golden Agency received referrals and for what date? Just wondering if that’s continuing.

  45. Mendy Says:

Oh Heather, I am so sorry. My thoughts are with you and your group.

    To LBIN,,

Thank you!!!!!! And yes your little Allison is such a sweetie!!!

I am now glued to the computer!!! With a 12/19/05 LID,,, I do know we are not next,,,, but we are into December,,,, and that in that in itself,, is enough to lift my spirits!!

    BYE BYE BYE November!!!!!!

  49. mom23boys Says:

Congratulations families- and here is to December…!!!!

  50. chinagirl07 Says:

Heather, thanks for updating us! I can’t tell you how sorry I am that this is happening to you guys!! My thoughts are with all of you!

  51. mezzok Says:

    vttoonses: You got it!

Actually, if they started referring 1 month of LIDs in a 2 month referral time period that would be a big improvement, since it took 5 to 6 months just to get thru November!

Goodbye November - Amen to that!

  52. Joliewannabe Says:

When we first got started with China, they were referring 1 month of LIDs in a 2 month period. After this last month taking 6 months, I would love to go back to that!!!!

  53. severine Says:

    RQ,
I would like to know if you heard 6 month ago that November 2005 was already matched , like january at this time ?

is it something new to match baby so early before sent referrals ?

    thank you
    Séverine

  54. catherinethegreat Says:

Severine…I have wondered about this myself; but I find it hard to think that this is true on a consistent basis given that many of the babies that were referred the last few months have been between 6-9 months old at time of referral; maybe it is for the older babies (>12 months)…we have seen some pretty young ones this time round too (born in April 07)…..so if they are matching ahead, it can’t be with everyone….I guess it could be with some. Who knows for sure…I just think it would be hard to match a baby that is 6 months at time of referral several months ahead of time…maybe 1-2 months..but you would think that would be about it…The question is then why aren’t the older babies matched up sooner too…probably has to do with the province and the SWI..but then again, I am just guessing…

    RQ?

  55. babyshae Says:

    Heather,
This situation with your group is very upsetting to us. It’s sad for you and the other families, sad for the babies who should have been matched and going home sooner and of course unsettling for all of us waiting and wondering what group it might happen to next. All I can say is if you guys are in deed matched with the December 5thers, we are happy to have you as part of our group and will be bawling right along with you when you can finally share your baby’s referral picture. It’s just such a shame what you all have been put through…I’m so sorry.

  56. china dad 1 Says:

I belive that matching is a numbers game.

Each SWI has a number of children paper ready that may or may not match up with a particular agency in the US or other.

If 6 are avilable from one SWI and an agency had 5 dossier, the odd child out waits untill there there is another group.

I imagine that the odd child out( bad phrase I know) may get placed with another group in the same provence-

I highly doubt a pre-selection exists - could the issue be foster care “contracts” or a quota system ? You have this child to care for 8 months - 1 year? verse short term?

I agree that the children seem to get younger and younger.

  57. KIM1 Says:

THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING MY QUESTION. IT IS GOOD TO KNOW THAT THE CCAA IS FINALLY OUT OF NOVEMBER.

I AM SO SORRY FOR THE GOUP THAT WAS LOGGED IN ON 11-30-05 AND DID NOT GET THEIR REFERRALS. I PRAY THAT YOU GET THEM SOON. (:

  58. OUrsooner Says:

    Heather,
I’m very sorry about your even more extended wait, but wanted to offer what I hope will be a little comfort. We will celebrate our 1 yr. referral anniversary on Nov. 2nd, and I can remember the same thing happening to a group with our agency during our wait (not our group). They accidentally were not matched, and once CCAA was made aware of the oversight, they did remedy the situation and forward on those referrals very quickly. I think there was about a week between the on-time referrals and our agency’s late referrals. Who knows what the CCAA will do in this instance since the holiday week has passed, but I hope it will be encouraging to know that in our agency’s case, their response was an apology for the oversight and a quick effort to remedy it. I’m hoping the same for you….I don’t believe they promised anything to our agency…at least I don’t remember a promise being mentioned when this was posted on the website. So I’ll hope you will soon receive a most pleasant surprise!! I, like others on this list, will be anxious to celebrate your good news…whether in a few days or next month…keep the faith! And yes, some of us don’t outgrow RQ…I lurked throughout our wait, and still do, but wanted to post today in hopes of encouraging you. To those of you anticipating travel in December….Christmas in China is wonderful! Can’t think of a better gift!!!!

  59. rich is waiting too Says:

  60. waitingforjoessister Says:

I was going to suggest a cyber party to celebrate the end of November, but then I read about the group from 11-3o-05 that did not recieve their referrals. I think I am in a funk too. The only way I will get out of it is if they get up to December 10th in November. I can dream.
Lets all send out our positive speed up vibes!!!

    Heather,
You will be matched with the exact baby you were meant to have. I’m sorry you have to wait even one second longer but you are waiting for a reason.

You’ll have the most precious baby ever!

  62. LinPatton3 Says:

    Heather,

I am not even going to pretent to understand how you are feeling…but I am so sorry!

If I were you I would just believe in my heart that your child will be next and it will make it all the sweeter!

Wish there was something more to say or do…but you are in my thoughts!!!

    ~Linda

  63. MilitaryBrat Says:

How terribly distressing for the November 30 families who weren’t matched. Please know we are thinking of you and wish a speedy referral right away for you!
I am glad we are FI-NA-LLY out of November. I was beginning to wonder if we were going to stay in that month for the next two years!
    Here’s to 2006 and beyond!

  64. manda Says:

6 months to get through december???? I know things are bad, but if that happens, I will completely fall apart. I am going to think good thoughts for everyone. Heather, I hope you see your baby VERY soon!

  65. heather / homeara Says:

I cried when I read all of the notes of support for me and my group this morning. Thank you all, so much. Noone seems to understand–except you fellow adoptive parents. Still no news from the CCAA, and it has been 9-10 days since original referrals were mailed. They still won’t say if they plan to match us and send out soon, or make us continue waiting until next month.

I did have a (horrible) question to RQ though–from what I have been hearing from my agency about the timing of the November referrals–and the possibility that our lost groups referrals may most likely be stuck in this next batch–I have been told that since the holiday took up a whole week of matching time, that there is a POSSIBILITY that referrals won’t be mailed until later the SECOND week of November–putting travel for those December folks, and for us screwed over November folks, to a potentially devistating–next January. I am loosing it! Do you know if this is a potential outcome? Again–don’t freak out everyone, they said it was a POSSIBILITY, not a fact…and only that this has happened a few times before…
    -Heather

  66. marciap123 Says:

Last year the CCAA updated their site Nov 2nd and Nov 30….let’s hope they can do the same this year.

  67. 3xwait Says:

    Heather,

I’m so sorry that your referral was skipped! I am waiting on pins and needles with you to hear your good news when you get it!

  68. mezzok Says:

    HI there:

First - Heather - hope that you hear something soon. I am sure your daughter will realize all your dreams!

Second - about the “pre-matching” of babies: Could one reason be that they need to wait until the babes are 6 months old to “release” them. So, supposing an SWI receives a baby into their care and they *know* that the birth mom will not come back for the babe. So, they go ahead and do the paperwork and send it off to the CCAA. However, my understanding is that the SWI needs to post the babe’s info for 6 months to try to locate the birth parents…Could this be why the extra time…and it would mean that the child is still quite young when the referral is finally sent…?

Just a thought. I also think that there are quotas and “batching” going on in terms of keeping groups together, etc., etc.

    kz

  69. vicki Says:

I don’t know about the extra time to find birth parents. My daughter was brought to the orphanage the end of October and I received a referral in December, a little over one month later in 2003.
