No RumorsFrom my When post, the most likely days for referrals to arrive are this Friday or Monday (5 or 7 days from now). We should have rumors. But, as ya’ll can see, there are no rumors. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. If you want to read through the Projection post again, here it is: http://chinaadopttalk.com/2007/11/06/projections-5/ Hopefully when the agencies open up this morning we’ll start hearing something.

OK, Thanksgiving is over, I”m very thankful for so many things….But now it’s time to BRING ON THE REFERRALS!!! It’s been 2 long years and with a LID of 12-9 I am so ready for news!!!!

As a “12/14′r”, I’ve been swinging between overly confident that we’ll make it in this batch, and bracing myself for disappointment… and perhaps the “watched pot never boils”, but I have been craving rumors this month like no other! Is it a bad sign (hate to even suggest something as silly as signs, or superstitions… it’s not my nature, but this waiting thing sometimes frays the nerves a bit, obviously) that there are NO rumors right now? Or is it more normal than I realize to go this far into the month without some outside speculation?
After 2 1/2 years, I want to jump up and down and cry tears of joy that we are close to knowing our first child… but, but, but… you *all* know what that means — *anything* can happen, right?
I guess this post is nothing more than an exercise in venting, huh? I should end it with — hang in there December LIDs! We’re getting closer and closer — and Congratulations, at least to 12/9’s - because your time has COME!

I really think the US Thanksgiving is to blame. I may be wrong but as the country with the most agencies dealing with China it would make sense that the most rumours come from the US. If the agencies are closed they can’t contact their people in the CCAA for info so there are no rumours. I don’t think it is a sign of somethng bad just the fallout from the holiday. If we haven’t heard anything by this time next week THAT would be bad.

Congratulations to you all at the gate so to speak, may you receive your referrals swiftly, and hopefully many dates will be covered. I can only imagine the thrill it must be to see the end of this Referral Wait in sight.

Come on rumors! I am SO ready. We spent all of last week without computer access due to travels and I was expecting to come back to some sort of information. I think jj2china is right…it has to be because it was a holiday here.
Since we didn’t have the “early” rumors this month…maybe when we do get rumors they will be really accurate?!?!? I am hoping for that.

I would actually like to see what happens one month WITHOUT any rumors! It seems like the first rumors are always so positive and then when referrals roll around it is a huge let down. It’s almost like we jinx it!

I agree- i think it has been quiet in the US due to the holiday. I am wondering if there has been any chatter on the European boards though. Someone somewhere has to be talking- no???? I am pulling for a big December batch- go December!!!!

I am relatively new to this site. I have been reading your posts and getting excited for those of you getting referrals, hoping for the best for those whose LIDs are close and hanging in there with those who are still waiting. Best of all, you all give me encouragement to be realistic and still maintain my sense of humor.
This weekend, my family and I went to a play in the nearby large metro area. We saw all the pretty Christmas lights and amongst all the pretties, there was a building with 3 ladybugs crawling up the front of it. I thought of all of you right away. Funny thing is, I go to this city everyday and I have never seen the ladybugs before.
Hopefully this is a sign and the rumors will start running soon.

We all have much to be thankful for-as my mom said on Thanksgiving-Family is the most important thing in the world! I am praying for all of you December LID’s-praying that China will finally get through 2006 and start focusing on 2007. I am still hopeful (call me crazy!) that things will speed up in the New Year! I am telling myself this has to be a joke, but if you google search it a number of different websites are reporting that Brittney Spears of all people is in negotiations with an agency to adopt 6 year old twins from China. Please tell me this cant be true and is only a sick rumor. Because if it is true I cant imagine just how big of a fire storm this will create.

C’mon Referrals!!!
The further into December the better!!! I will go absolutely bonkers if the make it to the bad case scenario– the 18th. Then I will feel pretty confident that we are next.
If they only make it to the 14th, I will be a mess next month! Not close enough to know for sure whether we will make the January batch.
Who am I kidding?
I’ll be a basket case next month no mater what!

Come on now - why keep spreading this stupid lie? We all KNOW you MUST be at least 30 to adopt from China. Britney is 26. You CANNOT be a single parent - Britney is divorced. Whomever made up this rumor is no doubt THRILLED at all the press it’s getting. How could she pass a homestudy when a judge won’t even let her have custody of her bio kids? Use your common sense and what you KNOW about adoption from China, folks! It’s a made up story to keep her in the news!

Sherry, thanks for setting me straight, I know that she does not make it on a number of requirements. This is the 1st I have ever heard of this LIE. I guess seeing other celebs fly into a country and leave a week later with a child makes me wonder if celebs have privileges. At least that’s one thing China has going for it, NO SPECIAL PRIVILEGES

Well it is the rumour coming out this month..I just hope this silence does not mean that there will be no referrals at all this month, except for Britney Spears. I wonder what RQ would call that scenario.

Hi - I think the Britney stuff is awfully hard to believe…but I have heard that adopting through the CCAA isn’t the only way. I don’t know if it’s true or not - but a ‘private’ adoption might be what’s in the works.

With a 12/20/05 LID, I am 99% sure we will NOT be receiving referral next week. So we are calm, cool and collected this month. However, depending on how far they get with referrals, we will most certainly be bundles of nerves in January or soon after…I personally can’t WAIT until I am a nervous waiting 1st time Mom the week before referrals!!! :)

Hey Xueshengmama…I’ve been keeping a spot under a rock warm for the last 18 months or so…in Maui! (Nice fantasy huh?), so if we need a rock to climb under, I think we should go to Maui…and hang out there. :)
Or, I have a big dining room table to curl up under, I’m already thinking of stocking bomb shelter supplies under there in case we don’t make it!

ROFL on the bomb shelter idea. When my parents built their house back in the early ’60’s, they included a fallout shelter in the basement. Maybe I can go hang out there for the month if we don’t make it. You’re invited! Maui would be much better though!!!!!

Ohhh…how I pine for the days when the only thing we had to worry about the cut off at the end of every month was.

I am so excited for the next batch! I am hoping for it to at least only take 3 mths for Dec. Truly only 2 but I think that would be heading for a let down!
With LID of 2-13-06 I hope we get referral before summer is up!

We are LID 2/6/06 and I am hoping for a May referral. I have my fingers crossed really tight because I have heard that January and February LIDs are smaller than November and December. I am hoping that means that CCAA can get through December and January quick as a lick.

This is so pathetic. I did so well the whole long weekend staying off this site (after all, I already have 3 daughters from China, so where is the sense in obsessing over the arrival of #4 when I am at home with my family!) But now that I am back at work and we are in the normal “window” of when rumors should circulate, I can’t stay away even when the headline is “No rumors”! It’s going to be a long two years!

I am wondering if the ladybug is thinking about jumping to her death depending on the next round of referral numbers. It seems like these poor ladybugs have been so ineffectual lately. I can see why they might feel a bit suicidal.

Several weeks ago I saw a whole army of ladybugs outside the window at work. No progress on either of our adoptions since then. I am firmly a non-believer.

With an early LID in March, and with the talk of higher airfares, increases in Hotel accommodation already, we’d be really happy for a June referral and travel AFTER the Olympics.
I’d rather put the extra away for my little girl.
But for today, I’d love for this months rumours to start. Maybe there might be some nice Christmas surprises.
As for the BS’s Bu*&^(#%%.S!! What agency in their right mind would tackle this one, although if they were going out of business already due to the changes and slowing of the CCAA processes, who says it can’t be done with $$$$ flashing before their eyes. Highly unethical, and highly insulting to the rest of the IA community if it was pulled off. And as for “backdooring”, apparently it can be done if there is the right contacts, no CCAA and lots of OOoLaa.

We are getting a taste of what it would be like if RQ didn’t exist and there were no rumors! I would go nuts for sure! Come on….lets get some rumors going! Good ones though!
