19th?
First, sorry I disappeared on ya’ll. We spent some time with friends in the middle of nowhere in their “cabin”. Last time we were there I had wireless access so I could get online. I’ve got a different carrier now and this one didn’t get a signal at all. Very frustrating.
But, onto more important things: It appears that a few referrals trickled in New Years Eve, and that so far it appears the cut off is likely the 19th. If true, that is seriously scary.
Theoretically, most of the rest of this batch will arrive tomorrow and we’ll have a better idea of the cut off. Even better would be if the CCAA changed their site so we’d know for sure.
I’m going to create a “Babies!” post in a few minutes so people can start posting their blogs to it.

Phew! So glad to have you back. Was getting a bit worried there. Seriously scary is definitely below horrid. Guess we now have our new name for below horrid category.

So glad to have you back RQ. I was getting worried. Anyway, congratulations to everyone who is getting their referral and a big fat SIGH for the rest of us. I think the new category below worse case should be absolute nightmare…………….I’m feeling quite disgruntled about now.

Welcome back - these past days have seemed a tad unofficial / surreal without your posts. Am fearful that we would have heard of a 12/20 by now if that date were included. Hope hugely that I’m proved wrong tomorrow. Happy New Year and good luck to everyone. LID 3/14/06

Hope you had a wonderful vacation with your family and friends RQ, but ditto to the comments posted above–so good to have you back!!
Big congratulations to all the expecting parents!

Why don’t we call the new category, “attrition maker”?

Welcome back, RQ…we missed you! Maybe the horrid scenario will become the new best case???

Our LID is 12/20/05. Our agency received referrals for our 12/19/05 families only. We have already been told that we did not receive a referral in this batch.

Welcome back!
Sadly I’m preparing myself for only 5 day referral batches. I know that this has nothing to do with the actual number of files that were logged in but the trend for the past 10 months has been closer to number of days rather than number of files so I’m protecting my heart and switching to 5 day referral batches. Yuck! Sadly, ’seriously scary’ is a really accurate new title for the column less than ‘horrid.’

Welcome back RQ!!
I know things don’t seem great and I am really starting to freak out but the way I am seeing it is if China can continue to match a weeks worth / month than that will keep us on track with the aweful scenerio we have come to live with - which for us is a late 2010 referral?? What is your take?? I know that some months are worse than others but if we could average at least 7 days/ month?? If the CCAA only matched 3 months worth in one year (I think I read that?) than that is approx 90 days divided by 12 months is an average of 7.5 days / month. Do you realisticly think this will continue to happen??
Also I was wondering when we finally do get into Feb 06 referrals don’t you think there will be a month when it covers a lot of days since there probably weren’t any LID’s processed during their 1 or 2 week closure due to the Chinese New Year??
Also - I am suprised at the referral of older babies?? I am assuming some people have requested older children but I would think that if there truly is a shortage of children wouldn’t almost all referrals be young babies??
Anyones thoughts would be appreciated!!

Welcome back RQ!!! I figured you probably out enjoying yourself and your family. Its amazing how much I depend on your posts, though, so I’m glad you’re back. “Seriously Scary” sounds pretty appropriate as the 19th is seriously. scary.
susan 2/13/06 –22-1/2 mos down, 15 more seriously scary batches to go????? I hope not.

I’m Seriously Scared and Seriously Loosing Hope. SSSLH. Logged in spring 07. Feels like the most stupid thing I ever did.

Mamman-
It wasn’t stupid, it was beautiful. I am sorry it has turned into this for you and for so many others.

Happy New Year RQ!!
I hope that you had a fun time over the holiday!
I have to say, I am feeling somewhat upbeat today. We missed this cutoff, but I know I will get my referral in February!!
I am ever hopeful that things will speed up for everyone waiting, but WooHooy! Finally WE ARE NEXT!

Have any of you received referrals for children older than requested? One family requesting a referral for 0-12 months, received a referral for a four year old. Both parents were under the age of 43. Any BTDT would be appreciated.

12 months to do 102 days of LIDs (9/9/05 - 12/19/05).

Waitingforever:
We just received our referral and our baby is almost 17 months old - we requested 14 months or younger. I just turned 40 and DH is 38 but we’re not first time parents - our youngest is 5.
We’re very happy with the age. At one point we had even considered sending a letter to the CCAA requesting an older baby but we didn’t want to mess with our files’ place in line. I was paranoid about our file getting lost!
In our travel group of 7 it looks like the first time parents and those requesting AYAP all got babies under 13 months. Those of us who gave a higher age range that included 14-24 months got the older babies 17-24 months. Our group will split up to travel to different provinces - the older babies are all at the same SWI.

Sorry for the bad news but my wife and I are also 12/20/05. We did not get a referral. Our agency has 12/19 LID’s and those families did get referrals.

How do you think February will be affected by Chinese New Year. Does anyone know if CCAA will close for the 2 weeks of the Chinese New Year?
