An early Rumor

From comments to yesterday’s post, an agency has told their December 22nd families that they will be included in the batch we are expected at the end of January or beginning of February.

It’s not much, and it’s an early rumor, and it’s one agency. And it is not a cut off date, just a mention of a date the agency thinks will make it into this batch. We’re still in R2 territory with this, but at least it is something.

and tons better than the 1 day batch I think a lot of us are expecting/fearing!

Here’s hoping that this rumor doesn’t turn out to be overly optomistic… I’d love to see further than the 22nd, but anything beyond the mega-monster day of the 20th would be awesome.

I hope that when referrals do come out, the Babies! post is long, long, long. Love to see all of those cutie-pies.

Thanks RQ. Do we know what the next LID for this agency is?

Here’s hoping for a CNY big batch :)

  4. waiting4kiera Says:

That is something if it is true. I was expecting them to just do 12/02/05.

    I’m echoing waiting4kiera’s thoughts.

I think tho’ that I will just stand on the sidelines of this rollercoaster ride. I have many, many rollercoaster rides ahead of me. Sigh.

If they matched most, but not all of December 20th last month, it is very possible to reach much further this month. They do not release partial days. I know there was some discussion about this last month. Come on all of Decmember!

    RQ,

Do you have any news on the Review Room? I haven’t heard of any November/06ers being asked questions.
    Any news anyone?

Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems like the first date we hear rumors about is often the cut off date. With so many speculating that we’d only get through 12/20/05, though, 12/22/05 seems a positive. I’m learning to lower my expectations as each month passes.

  10. waitingforlibby Says:

    RQ,

Have you heard anything about the CCAA press conference that’s being reported in the forum?

  11. ljsatx Says:

lizyrose, that does seem to be true, but last month the early rumor suggested that 12/20 was likely in…

  12. 3xwait Says:

Wow, who knew 3 days could sound so good!!!

  13. firewens Says:

I sure hope this isn’t an optimistic rumor! But at least we finally have something!! WooHoo!!!!!!!!

I know it is pretty sad when we are happy about 3 days, but it is better than 1.

  16. tlday13 Says:

unless of course, 3 days becomes the new norm.
I have learned not to hold any expectations except those in the “pit of despair” (to borrow from the Princess Bride) :)

  17. kmyrah Says:

RQ – this is a copy and paste of my response to stella on the No Rumor blog/article you put out yesterday. I’m the one whose agency said 12-22-05 would be included.

My agency stated to us the inclusion of 12-22-05 being in the end January/beginning February batch on both the agency website and on the phone recording they update every Monday. I heard the news on last Monday’s, 14th, recording. There is no update today since it is a holiday. They will have one tomorrow, though.

I believe my agency is one of the mid to large sized ones. They told us they have almost daily communications with CCAA. Our agency has set up teleconference calls for all of us prospective parents. This is to let us know the status of things. The January 2006 LID families, such as me, have the call on Monday, January 28th. If I learn anything I’ll let you know.

p.s. RQ – if anything changes when I call my agency tomorrow for the weekly updates, I’ll let you know. My agency is saying the 12-22-05 on both the phone recording and website so it should (I hope) mean something. I hope they’re not just trying to placate us.

  18. demerle Says:

Thanks kmyrah. Are they usually on target?

  19. dady2xinand? Says:

Kmyrah what is youre agency’s next LID?Have they more LIds in Dec ’05.

  20. eli Says:

I’m not Kmyrah, but she kindly answered on the other thread that her agency’s next LID is 1/16 — good news for anyone holding out hope that they may go further than 12/22.

  21. skye06 Says:

Sorry, everyone but, Kmyrah, maybe not such a good idea to post it publicly? Thinking it might be better for you to let only RQ know? Hate for you to get flack from your agency for passing on info they’re telling you. What do you think?
BabyMakes3, you make a good point about the possibility that the 20th was partially matched previously. Had forgotten about that.

  22. boboleah2 Says:

In a recent email from my agency, I was told that with CCAA referring about 5 days per month I could expect to wait about eight months with a 1/25/06 LID. I thought 5 days was a worst case scenario and now we’re looking at between 1 and 3 day batches?

  23. tlday13 Says:

Well, in all honesty, worst case scenario from a prospective Adoptive parent view is complete shutdown. I think the smallest LID batch we’ve seen is 2 days.. I was just tongue-in-cheek mentioning the idea that 3days could become the new norm. To tell the truth it isn’t a joke, but it wouldn’t surprise me now. The only thing that could surprise me are mondo-big referal batches and I think those are a thing of ages past.

  24. dixierufus Says:

    off to the cussing room!!!!

    only 3 days, I am so disappointed…..

  25. KarenInCa Says:

Well, going beyond the 20th is great (relatively), but if it keeps on going at 3 day referrals per month for all of 2008, then we won’t even get past January 2006 by the end of this year. And here I thought that the rumor of only getting thru February 2006 was stretching it!
The only thing I’m banking on is being able to sleep thru 2008 to see what 2009 brings us.

  26. codyexpress Says:

I might be with the same agency as kmyrah.
    From what I gather;
CCAA has already completed referrals up to December 19.
CCAA will process their next referrals either early February or late January. Our next lid waiting to be matched is 12/22/05. I don’t thinks they are stating that this lid group will be in this next batch but that they are the next one inline for this agency. They are just giving an update and no need to get overly excited or disappointed. Which ever way you want to look at it.

  27. codyexpress Says:

Ok this is my second try to post.
I think I am from the same agency as kmyrah.
    From what I gather,
CCAA has completed matching up to 12/19/2005 and will process its next referrals either early February or late January. This agency’s next lid that will be matched is 12/22/05. They were not stating that this lid will be matched, they were just stating this is the next lid for this agency. No need to get overly excited or disappointed, they were just giving an update and stating the next lid match.

  28. andyandoli Says:

Could the slowdown be due to the Olympics? Could it pick up after they are over?

  29. tellmemore Says:

    andyandoli!

Of course, the slowdown could be due to the Olympics, and yes it could pick up after the Olympics. But not the day after the Olympics. I am sure the “speed up” will be just as orchestrated as the slow down. My guess a real speed up will occur around a year AFTER the Olympics.

  30. waiting in canada Says:

Wait…Wait ..Wait… a minute we have to be optimistic here and PLEASE let the year 2005 be complete in the next batch. There is no way I’ll believe this 1 day batch. Can you imagine !!!! Nope I cannot.
2006 here we come….Yeap that sounds much better.

    2006 …2006…2006..

  31. kmyrah Says:

  32. waiting in canada Says:

We have to be (hihihi) I have a LID of august 2 2007.

  33. kmyrah Says:

ouch. I’ll pray for you. Ours is 1-16-06

  34. Mamman Says:

RQ’s horrid case for this batch was 25th, wasn’t it? This just CAN’T be a one day batch :-(((((

  35. bella's mom Says:

    Waiting in Canada -
I’m right there in 2007 with you (Feb 07). You have a really lucky LID – Aug 2nd is my dad’s birthday. I believe it will bring you luck!
I’ll stay optimistic with you. I know with all my heart that I have another baby coming; and if it happens for me, it will happen for you, just a few months later. Don’t worry, things will start to speed up.

  36. skylersdad Says:

I have to say that, as I read these messages, hy heart goes out to ALL of the families waiting in the wind. It must be the wind, because every time stuff starts looking up (which hasn’t been for awhile now), it just blows away with every disappointing match group. My wife and I have struggled through this for 3+ years now. Even with an LID of 12-20-05, I have to wonder what will happen next. To ALL of you waiting, PLEASE hang in there. It will be worth it in the end.

  37. Pam Says:

Mamman- you are right about RQ’s horrid case not being one day, but remember that last months referrals were “worse than horrid”
