Matching has begun
Word has gone out from one of the larger agencies that matching has begun.
No word from them on a possible cut off, but if matching has begun then they should (theoretically) be mailed sometime next week.

Does anyone else think that maybe we won’t see complete LIDs referred this month? I just have a sneaky feeling that LID will be split from now on. Does anyone know anything for sure?

I’m with you 4emily! :) I wouldn’t be too surprised, actually, if they do finish 2005. I know they like to have a “clean desk” before they leave for CNY, and remember how we all heard of 2005 being finished “this year”? Maybe they meant by CNY, not January 1? A girl can dream, right…:)

Please forgive me if this seems like a dumb question, but I have to ask it…
I know that the rumor was out there a couple batches ago that they had matched up to March 06. So, if “matching has begun”, what are they doing now then? Or is the “matched to March 06″ just that - a RUMOR? Any more news or evidence from anyone that that indeed was the case, or is it just “talk? —OR— Am I reading way into this and trying to connect this with the “box” now being off the CCAA site?
With a late Feb 06 LID, I can’t stand to think that our little one has been matched with us, and having to wait for us all these months before we finally get to meet and see him/her.
Maybe my brain is just working WAY overtime on this!?!?! I don’t know…!!!

AsIWait, just my opinion but I don’t think so. They’ve never done it before and even with all the changes, I don’t think this is something that will ever happen. Anything past the 22nd would be awesome. KentuckyMama, you’re being matched with your baby - NOW!

It seems like a lifetime ago that we started this process. I truly hope and pray that nothing screws this up and that the rumor is true. A match this week would be so wonderful for all the familes waiting…..and hope for the ones who still have a long wait ahead. Please let this be a big match group for everyone’s sake. I just want my wife and I to be a family with our child……a dream that has been for many years now.

Hi jj2china, your LID is the same as ours. We are from Melbourne Australia and our only source of information comes from RQ. We don’t have adoption agencies as our paper work is all done through the Department of Human Services. When we first started the adoption process the wait was only meant to be 6 months from our LID 04/19/06

Sorry if it’s a silly question but what does matching has “begun” really mean? In order for them to be sent out soon wouldn’t it be more accurate to say matching is “completed”. Didn’t matching begin awhile ago for this next batch? Of which, I am thrilled to say we IN with a 12/20/05 LID!

minnie-They usually say matching has begun when the matchers are working on matching individual children with families. Prior to this they are finalizing the paperwork for the children and matching groups of files. If you click on the link for “How the matching room works” and the right hand side of this page it kind of explains the process.

As someone who is “close” but not close (at least that’s how it feels) My heart gave a leap when I saw your note, RQ. I am going to be an absolute basket case when they get to Jan06. LOL

Thanks Pam! I’ve read that link before but never realized that the individual matching of the child to a family took part right at the very end. I always thought it was an ongoing process with matches being made throughout the whole month. Wow, I’m feeling nervous and very excited!

I’ve been reading for a long time, but have never posted. So here goes… bring on all of Dec and finish up 2005! I was LID 4/11/05 and thankfully had a referral in 8 months. Next month my little one will have been home for two years while many of you from 2005 are still waiting! It is just crazy! I don’t know how you all have withstood the wait, but more power to you. And remember, once your baby is in your arms, that wait will have seemed like nothin! Congrats to you all expecting referrals…can’t wait to see those faces!

Could you please explain “next week”. Is that this week, or next week? I understand how the matching room works, but am very anxious, as many others, to see how long it takes between matching and receiving a referral. REALLY ANXIOUS! Panicing actually. The wait to see our daughter or son’s picture is slowly sufficating both me and my beautiful wife.
