Not much. Again.

The Spanish Blog is saying the cut off date is going to be near the end of December. (Great if they are right this time, but Large Grain of Salt.)

As best I can tell, no agencies are giving a possible cut off date. Several of them are telling people up to and including the 22nd that they will be included. One of them has told someone with a LID of December 26th that they are not likely to be included in this batch.

Update: One Spanish agency is saying 12/30. Since many people believe the Spanish Blog is run by an agency or an agency employee, I don’t think that we view this as two sources. I’m counting this agency and the Spanish Blog as one source at this point, I think. So, still an R1 or R2.

I also have to wonder if they will complete the same LID date for every agency or if agencies will have different dates. As much as it is less consistency for us, it is better for the children if all are referred as soon as possible. It will be very interesting to see what happens.

Best wishes to all you december folk. I hope many of you have very happy news soon.

  2. catherinethegreat Says:

Thanks RQ…Well I wish they would get later into December (for sure I hope), but like you I would take THAT rumor with a large grain of salt. The Spanish blog has been RIGHT and WRONG before….It sounds like they may make it past the 22nd though…so I hope they do…I can’t believe it, but I would be happy for everyone if they made it to the 25th…this would be six days..YUCK..but better than less..

    bailey,

I was just thinking the exact same thing. Now that the box is gone, we could see some different cut off dates. It will be an interesting week!

    HI RQ,

Thanks for all the updates. I agree that referrals through the 30th is a long shot.

A word to any newbies who might be lurking about– you are better to anticipate this not happening and dealing with a wonderful surprise if it does happen, than trusting it will happen and being crushed when it doesn’t.

Selfishly, I just want to know when?

    WHEN ARE REFERRALS COMING???

I’m going nuts! My work is suffering tremendously– I cannot focus– on anything!

    LID 12/20/05 NEXT!

  5. fjm Says:

I’ve been on RQ for about 13 months now–I’ve never experienced a “wonderful surprise” but I always hope…….

Unfortunately it appears to be the kiss of death to the good rumors when we get news of an agency letting a family know they are not included……..This information seems to stick.

I’m hoping that “not likely to be included” is something different from “not included.”

  6. DadInTheWings Says:

Wow, the the 30th would be frightening. Wonderful, but frightening. With how close we are in the number of days until our LID (less then two months) as much as I hate to say it a large batch would put us into crisis mode. It’s not that I want things to take longer, far from it, it is rather that the current state of “craw” has lulled us into a sort of preparation hiatus. If the CCAA suddenly comes out with a surprising 10 day batch that includes some 230 RQ poll families I think my head would explode. That, in theory, could mean that they could reach our LID of 2/15 in two to three more batches. Frankly, we are not ready. I guess to make a long story short, while I don’t expect this happen, it does mean that we really need to get on the ball.

  7. DadInTheWings Says:

LOL, “crawl” not “craw” of course…

  8. scrapping in ontario Says:

It would be great if it was true but I’ll believe it when I see it.
Once bitten…twice shy! Still hoping for anything more than a 1 day batch.

  9. chickensoupforchina Says:

    Dadinthewings,

If things speed up, I have every confidence you’ll spring into ready mode! Here’s hoping your head explodes! :)

  10. aust2china Says:

the 30th would be brilliant… but I’m long past pinning hope on any rumour!!!

(famous last words… as I now secretly hope it is the 30th?!!!)

Would love to know when the referrals will show up…

dadinthewings-If it would speed things up for the rest of us, I bet you would have lots of volunteers who would be more than happy to come help you get ready regardless of where you are…….What do you need? Laundry? Packing? Painting a room? some travel books? If you end up in crisis….just let us know..there may be plenty of waiting parents without enough to do…….unfortunately common sense (or experience) tells me 6 more weeks of lids=6 more months…in a good year….Wow! How time changes your perspective. lid 3/29/06

  13. patolocko Says:

I dont know what to type so just get on with it and put us all out of our worries and post the refferals now. Anything will be better than last month, 26th would be nice because its the last refferal date in our country and would be sending the biggest group from my country for a long long time.

has anyone tried the sn program now that the program to agencys are online?

  15. debrook2 Says:

I’m really hoping we get to at least December 28 for Australia NSW batch 34! It’s been far too quiet in Australia for far too long.

Good luck to all December 05 LIDers!

  16. somedayadaughter Says:

    skittles:
this past weekend we investigated sn. what i found was, #1 the agencies are not real up to date on who has a family and who doesn’t - the little girl we wanted said she was available on the internet but hadn’t been for quite some time in turned out. #2 - i learned that the CCAA will no longer allow agencies to work jointly with one another. in other words, if you have logged in with one agency, you have to go through their sn list. to try and adopt a child that is listed with a different agency would mean starting all over again - paperwork and finances of course. i don’t know if that’s the info you were interested in!

  17. kentuckymama2b Says:

    Calamity4e,
I am right there with you! I’m 12/20/05 and cannot concentrate on a thing. It seems strange to be this late in the month and have no information. I can’t figure out whether to think it’s a good sign (they are busy wrapping up a big group before the holidays) or a bad sign (they are sick of all the questioning and speculation and have just clamped down - not even saying anymore when packages are sent).

  18. skye06 Says:

LOL, DadInTheWings! No, I think “state of craw” describes it very well. IMO, I think referrals will be mailed later this week to arrive early next week. The more time they take to match, the more they’ll match.

  19. erika Says:

I wanted to ask the rumor queen a question…..has anyone heard that China maybe stopping healthy referrals by the end of 2008???? I am not trying to start a rumor here. I was reading an article and it was mentioned in the article. Just curious if anyone else has heard this????

  20. 2qts4me Says:

I have heard this, but never read about it. I have heard
from various sources that NSN’s adoptions will be ending
after they have fulfilled the waiting dossiers. A CWI Director told me that this is the goal to end all NSN’s adoptions. Now, where she lives, she does not have any
healthy babies abandoned in her CWI, but an increase in
SN’s abandonments. Now this is what she expressed to me
through what she believed, and she does not have any concrete proof of this. We just do not know for sure.
However, I am not sure how accurate the article might be.
    It depends on many things.

  21. wellworththewait Says:

    Erika,

Can you please tell us what article you read? Thanks.

  22. skittles Says:

agency mentioned last night that the SN are on the new online system of CCAA. Some daughter, I wouldn’t think you could switch agencys, that would mean a whole new batch of paper work for you to have a second dossier, which I don’t think China would allow. They are still quoting the party line about the reffreals and reviews but do say not to be suprised if it’’s longer, they won’t.

  23. Calamity4e Says:

    kentuckymama2b,

We can start our own crazed chat group!!! LOL.

Are you ready for another day of no concentration and poor productivity? Oh boy!

DH and I have to update our fingerprints this morning– this will be our 3rd trip to USCIS for fingerprints. I’m thinking about applying for a job there LOL.

    C’mon Referrals!!
