Today or Monday, Maybe

Multiple agencies have confirmed they have something on the way from the CCAA. Some packages are expected today, others are expected Monday.

Again, we do not know that these are referrals, but there is a pretty good chance they are. We know something is on the way, we just don’t know what that something is.

The R4 that December 27th is included still stands. Please note that the R4 is not that the cut off is the 27th, but that the 27th is included.

Oh, please let it be referrals, and please let ours be in there…My heart (and stomach) can’t take much more of this!
    Go 12/27!!! :)

  3. StillW8n Says:

I would love to have more than the 27th included, but I would think there would be some kind of rumbling out there if they were! So, I will be happy what we have so far and look forward to seeing all those little faces!

Congratulations to all of you receiving those referrals in the next few days! I am sure that you feel as if you have been on the ride of your life! Enjoy it from here on out!

…OK..FOLLOW ME..IF THE CUT OF IS THE 27TH…THEN WE ARE 81 LOG IN DAYS FROM A REFERRAL….WITH AN AVERAGE OF “8″ DAYS PER MONTH…THAT MEANS WE ARE APPROX 10.13 MONTHS AWAY FROM A REFERRAL….THAT’S THE BAD NEWS…IF THE CCAA SPEEDS UP EVEN JUST A WEE BIT…THEN IT WILL BE SOONER!!!!!!

THANKS FOR BEARING WITH ME..BUT IT IS NICE TO SEE AN END IN SIGHT….

If it isn’t, I say we open a bottle anyway - either way it won’t hurt :)

Congrats to all those who are expecting their referrals this batch and to those who weren’t.

I have kind of a dumb question… how many days are left in December? What day was the 27th in 2005? Are LID only M-F or are weekends included? Does that make any sense??

  7. bella's mom Says:

What a GREAT weekend this is going to be for Dec 05 families!! I’ll drink some champagne for you and wish you all the best!!
Hold on to your seats…now the ride, the good ride, REALLY begins!
It isn’t often that I get to be right. Usually my optimistic view is somewhat unrealistic. But I knew things would start to speed up, and I have never been more happier to be right. Congrats to all!

Dec 27th, 2005 was a Tuesday. I hope the next round will once and for all get rid of 2005. We are LID 10/13/06 that is 290 days away. 8 day average gives us another 36 months, 12 average gives us 24 months, and 15 gives us 19 months. Lets get into a steady double digit batches. Until then it is hard to get excited at an 8 day batch.

Congrats and best of luck to all the new familys.

I spoke to our agency yesterday and was told to expect the call Friday or Monday.
We are way beyond excited and on pins and needles, since we nor our agency was expecting anything this month!

Our LOA came in from DHL to our agency on Wednesday. We sent in our LOI on January 4 so it did not take long at all. We are expecting to get our TA very soon.

    Hi,

    Mares,

THe 27th in 2005 was a Tuesday. I know our agency also has LIDs of the 29th and 30th, so if the 27th is the cut off there is still some of 2005 to complete.

Congratulations to all the families finally getting their referrals. I think we are all glad to see 2005 finished. 2006 here we come. Lets hope things pick up. 1-17-07 LID

Though my family is now complete (3 girls- 2 from China) I am just SO excited for all the families out there right now waiting to get the call! I keep checking RQ for any updates- and more importantly PICTURES!! Congratulations to all the waiting families who will soon see a picture of their new son/daughter. Enjoy every moment!!

  16. King Says:

We got our LOA on Wednesday from our agency. We sent in our LOI on January 3 so that was fast. Now we just wait on our TA which hopefully will not take long.

  17. waiting4katerina Says:

Congratulations Mritim and everyone else who is expecting!!!
Mritim, when is your LID? Just curious.
Our agency has a LID of 12/28, next and I have a friend in that batch and I am on pins and needles waiting to hear if they might be included. If not at least she is NEXT!!!! I have a LID of 4/4/06….so maybe this will mean a good thing for us, too.

  18. patolocko Says:

After last month missing out by one day after a 5 year wait in total i thought to myself the poor people coming after me must be so dissappointed with it all. But thankfully there seems to be a flicker of a light at the end of the tunnel. Our refferal should arrive today or monday or tuesday what a day that day is going to be seeing our daughter or son for the first time starting all those plans that you have held of on because you were unsure of age and sex of your child. We have waited the longest as a group ever to be reffered a child from China and hopefully the wait time will stop increasing for you all still waiting. Best wishes to you all and thanks.

  19. Just_the_Ticket Says:

Our LID is 2/9/06 and based on referral history we are hoping to get our referral some time this year, possibly between September and December. Our adoption agency sent us an e-mail the first of the year indicating that China would only finish to February 2006 in 2008. Thankfully, our LID is the beginning of February and hopefully, we will get a referral this year.

Also, our adoption agency predicted that China will finish 2005 in March 2008. If CCAA does refer to December 27th this month, then it is likely our agency is correct.

Having been through one adoption from Korea in a timely fashion, this has proven to be quite a long ordeal as the timelines continue to expand in an unpredictable manner. My heart goes out to all of you who have recently been LID to China. I do not know if we could do this again given the present state of this program.

    Cheers to all!

  20. mritim Says:

Our LID is 12-27-05, so this was such an unexpected surprise. (Although secretly hoped for)

    Just the Ticket,
With an early march LID I really hope your agency is NOT correct about only getting through Jan and Feb in the rest of 2008.
I’m hoping that with about a week in Feb. with hardly any LIDs due to Chinese New Year, they’ll at least get into early March 06.

Congrats to all the new families waiting for good news.

    However:
Love Without Boundaries is only 44 people away from winning the $50,000 needed for life saving surgeries for 10 children in China. Please go to face book and donate 10 bucks to save a child’s life. There is only 3 hours left in the contest. This is something really meaningful you can do while you await all the happy news of referrals. Come on people let’s help LWB win this thing. Do it for the children still in China. They don’t have parents or the funds to save them. Let’s show our support to these kids. I really hope our little community comes through for these kids.

  29. sgarbossam Says:

It is disturbing to read the comment that an agency reported that referrals in 2008 will only get to February 2006. I know we don’t have a crystal ball, but does anyone else have information on this? Our Log in date is 2/24/2006. Remaining hopeful.

    Yes we are from N.Y.

Of course I am hoping December and more to arrive this month but if not I think the January folks have great reason to be excited. If you look at the poll results for the end of December it is extremely light. Hopefully this will give us a good leap into January!

  31. Cat Says:

Congrats to all the new families again.

Just checked and Love without Boundaries is just 1 donation from the lead spot to win the $50,000 prize.
There is less than 3 hrs left, if you can find it in your heat to donate $10 -please do so know. There are 10 children who need our help just to have the life saving surgery they need. Check out RQ’s links in the post to prior to this blog entry. If we in our adoption community rally together I really thing we can help LWB win this thing.
Please forgive if this plea post twice as I tred to post easlier but it has yet to appear.

I don’t know if this is allowed, but I thought it was worth trying…

There are less than two hours left of the giving challenge on Facebook and Love Without Boundaries has been neck and neck in the challenge to win $50K to help babies in China. The last I checked LWB needed 45 more unique donors (as low as $10@) to get into first place. If you’re interested in joining the challenge there isn’t much time left, but you are needed!! http://apps.facebook.com/causes/view_cause/51591

    LittlePerson647-
I feel bad that this site has made you feel down. We should be trying to lift each other up, support each other; and many, many posters on here have. Like I said in a previous post, the boat may be sailing on really rough waters right now, but you have a ton of people here riding the waves with you.
I had someone go after me a little yesterday, and I felt bad for him. But I’m not going to let him get to me. I like it when I can offer words of comfort to someone, maybe bring someone’s spirits up a little when they’re having a rough moment. And I like days like this when we can get excited for people who are almost there.
We’re a community, and we’re all going through the same trials and tribulations. If you need more of the positive talk, let us know that. There are plenty of us here able to provide that. But don’t leave just yet. Let us know what you need from us.

  41. Interestedlurker Says:

What one person labels as NEGATIVE, another might view as a cry for help or hope…a cry for someone to offer a kind word that will provide a little comfort or understanding. I’ve read the site for a long time {it’s what got me through my wait}, and I don’t believe anyone sets out to be negative or hurtful or alienating.

I also think it’s kind of curious that a poster would find it necessary to announce he or she was leaving. What’s the purpose of attacking the other visitors’ comments? Why would anyone toss out that he/she was leaving unless he/she wanted something…to be asked back?…to be apologized to for venting frustration?

Please let me go on record as writing that I appreciate the candid comments people post even when they seem to vent a frustration. Those comments remind me that I’m normal and that other people are feeling what I am.

  42. lovemygirls Says:

We waited 13 months for our referral (LID was 7/19/05) and it was the longest year of my life. I can’t even imagine what it’s like for those of you who have been waiting 2+ years. I’m surprised that people are able to stay as positive as they are. I think this little community is getting a lot of people through a very very difficult time in their lives and it’s important to be able to vent to people who “get it.” I think of those who are waiting daily - I know the wait is worth it (I have 27 pounds of proof at home) but this snail’s pace is so discouraging - it’s no wonder people sometimes seem “negative.” I’m so excited for those of you about to get your referrals - still my favorite time of the month. There hasn’t been a month yet where I haven’t cried over all the beautiful babies!

  43. mritim Says:

Just checked with my agency, no package yet today. The afternoon deliveries should have arrived by now. Grrr.

  46. marlo2b2 Says:

I have to agree with Interestedlurker.

Surely to be human is to feel an entire array of emotions, both good and bad, especially when we are in an adoption process that has significantly slowed down. It is somewhat Orwellian to suggest that we cannot express our darker feelings about this process. Like having “a good cry” one can feel better writing out their frustrations and anger. Likewise reading someone’s negative response can make the reader feel better (so long as it’s done civily). I feel better when someone takes the trouble to express my own frustrations.

What kind of site would Rumor Queen be if we all had to pretend to be happy all the time?

i ran this rumor past my large, china-only agency a couple of weeks ago and, was assured that it was, um, a rather uniformed WAG (wild ass guess). my agency expects the ccaa to get well past february.

simple math: if they only did one week each month for the rest of the year, they’d still get through most of march.

my agency is expecting two-week batches in the not-too-distant future, and i’m willing to throw a three-weeker in there now and again, so i’m hopeful they’ll get through june before 2009 arrives.

i ran the february-in-2008 rumor past my large china-only agency a couple of weeks ago and they chuckled and said it was a WAG (wild ass guess).

even if the ccaa refers only one week batches, rather than the two week batches they have promised, we’d still expect to be through most of march by the end of 2008.

i’m willing to bet on two week batches, with a three-weeker thrown in occasionally…so my bet is that they’ll be through most of june by the end of the year.

  65. Guangdong Says:

Buzzbuzz, why do you say “if china did only one week per month, rather than the two promised” - have China promised that anywhere??

Actually, 8 days this time is probably more than will be the usual amount from now on. As far as I remember, CCAA have indicated to several agencies that the referrals will continue to be about the same as last year, - which was an average of around 6 LIDs per month (if I remember correctly). I don’t expect CCAA to do more than 5-6 LIDs per month, on average, throughout this year. I am not sure if this also goes for the Olympic period.

  66. JustWait Says:

    Concerning “negativity”:

Sometimes news that is joyful beyond belief for a some is negative beyond belief for others. 2-8 days of referrals in a months is joyful news for those who get the referrals, but it is horribly negative news for someone who is hundreds of LID dates back in line. (Although 8 days is less horribly negative than 2 days.)

My heartfelt congratulations to those who will be seeing their daughters for the first time. My condolences to the people further back in line.

  67. glasshousejewelry Says:

I find it so hard to get excited about an 8 day referral group. We are LID 6/19/06 for our second child from China. It was so different then (we waited only 6 mos) and were disappointed if there was only one months worth of referrals at a time (instead of 2)!! I do hope it starts speeding up a lot more…and soon! I have been feeling so discouraged lately.

Meanwhile, I don’t mean to rain on the parade of those expecting referrals in this batch. I wish you all so much happiness!!! :)

    Congrats and best wishes,

  70. Just_the_Ticket Says:

Hello and Congrats to all of you that have received a referral!

My previous posting was not meant to be negative. I was passing on information from my agency that I thought others might like to hear.

If you look at RQs stats, referrals have been decreasing in number every year since 2005 and there is no indication that 2008 would be any different. Since CCAA only did 2.5 months of referrals in 2007, one could assume they would do the same in 2008. CCAA has never stated what they would do for referral numbers to any specific degree as everyone and anyone is guessing. But, if the past is any indication, one could assume that our agency is correct and they might only make it to the end of February 2006 in 2008.

Sorry if this comes across as negative. I am only presenting the math and numbers do not tend to lie.

    Cheers to all!
