LID Rooms
I’ve just handled all of the outstanding requests for people asking to get into their LID room.
If you’ve made the request, you should be in there. There were a lot to do, so I didn’t respond individually to the people who were already in a room and asking to be placed into it again. If you’ve asked to be in the room, you should see your room down in the “Private Areas” section of the board. You can see a picture showing where the room will be on the first post of this thread.
The chart to the right shows a rundown of how many people are in the various LID groups as of today.
As a reminder, people come to the site in larger numbers once they are getting close to their referral. You should keep this in mind when trying to make any comparisons on this chart. It’s probably okay to compare months that are right beside each other, but once they are a few months away from each other, comparisons can be dangerous. I expect that once we are a month or two away from March getting a referral that membership will blossom and it will dwarf the November numbers.
Also keep in mind that as readership has grown, so has participation in these rooms. Previous months may not have been that much smaller than January and February, they just had a smaller percentage of the total choose to join their LID room.
Also, when people switch to SN they rarely ask to leave their LID room, and I do not ask them to. They’ve made friends in there and want to be around when they finally get their referrals. The LID Poll we recently did is probably a better indicator of numbers. However, this gives a bigger window so I wanted to share the numbers.
And, finally, if you’d like to join your LID room, there is a thread stickied to the top of the General Discussion room in the forum - please make your request in that room. Please do not PM or email the request, as I do this in batches and I really need for all of the requests to be all together in that thread.

Ok everyone I need help. How do you know if you are in a room? I am really lost here. I don’t know if i made a request or not. I am lid 1/12/06. Guide me please!

Did you perhaps forget to include September 2006? I’d like to get to my LID more quickly, but I bet others want September 2006 to be included!

When you’re in the forum, check the “Private” Areas…you’ll see
“Let’s Talk” and “Blowing off Steam”
Is there anything under that? That’s where my “07-2005″ group is. If you have nothing else there, I’m guessing you need to submit another request to join an LID room.

This is rather unscientific, but might the numbers from the chart give us any kind of representation of the ebb and flow of dossiers going to China? Just a thought.

I wonder how many couples are on this site. Probably not enough to make a difference, just a thought. DH is registered to our LID room, but we agreed only one of us would vote in polls.
Also - wow, my room is big (4/07).

When you go to the thread, the reply button is at the bottom of the thread on the right.

Also remember that you have to register and then log in seperately for the Forum, as the Blog and Forum’s software is completely seperate - so the database of members doesn’t transfer. I think I have that right anyway!!

This seems to verify what we already knew: February, March, and April of 2007 will be MONSTER months and then there is a significant dropoff when the new rules went into effect. May 2007 has less than half of January 2007. These are far enough away in receiving referals and long enough since LID that it’s probably valid to make comparisons of months that far apart.
