Silence
This silence thing is really getting annoying.
We have had months there there were no rumors and then referrals just arrived out of nowhere, but those are few and far between so I’m not really expecting them to just drop in out of nowhere at the moment.
But, I had expected to start seeing rumors by yesterday or today. And I’m not.
And I need to bring some lotion to work. My hands are so dry they hurt. More of that “annoyed by winter” thing, I guess.
If anyone hears any rumors, please send them to me.

Maybe just maybe no news is good news and they are getting further then we are thinking they are… I know wishful thinking..

RQ,
I know what you mean on both accounts.
Where ARE the rumors.
I have 3 kinds of hand lotion on my desk. I’m constantly putting lotion on…
Here, rumor, rumor. Kinda feel like I’m calling a cat to come in…ha ha

This silence is unnerving, I hope that referrals just drop out of the sky this month- come on CCAA!!!
thups- I have heard and read rumblings of this before, I do think that China is headed for a change in the next couple years. This would be good for the children to keep them home with their birth parents. I do hope that our waiting families do get to bring their very much wanted children home.
2 year LID anniversary today :(

I’ve been through a tin of “Burt’s Bee Balm” and a tube of Neosporin this winter. Ran the snowthrower 13 times (with more snow predicted for tonight). 23 days til Spring!

My canadian agency just told my than the cut off is january 4th.
February 28th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
Everybody must be having lunch at your end.
I just said ONE OF OUR FRENCH AGENCIES ANNOUCED (20 minutes ago) THE 4TH OF JANUARY 2006 AS BEING THE CUT OFF.

FrenchMarianne: Did they say anything about referrals being on the way or did they just say the cut off is the 4th? Did they say how they know this?
February 28th, 2008 at 12:25 pm
something else , isn’t the congress supposed to change tomorrow? Does this affect anything with the CCAA staff or oversights?
February 28th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Hey French Marianne, I’m having breakfast and reading your rumor. Thanks for the info. When will they arrive?

Thanks Marianne. I have a feeling we may get a “surprise” arrival of referrals like we did last year and they just showed up!!!
February 28th, 2008 at 12:59 pm
Big thanks to the French and Canadian readers who posted this info.
I just looked at the polls though, and, wow, this is a small batch if the cutoff is really the 4th. It looks like January may take 5-6 months to get through, which is very, very discouraging.

Its only 8:50 am here (So Calif!!!) and 77 degrees and sunny as can be BTW so just finishing breakfast not lunch :-)
But, is that two agencies proclaiming 1/4 as the cut off??? If its true, I think I really might cry –I will be so excited to see the first referrals of 2006. Oh joy, oh thrill 2005 will be over. CCAA has been referring 2005 since before we applied!! We’re lid 2 yrs and 2 weeks since LID today. Getting to 2006 will give me renewed that this may actually work out for us someday.

Good afternoon RQ, I hear a few people talk about cut off 1/4, but do you know if January 4 is then included???
I become very very nervous off all those messages, because we are from 1/4.
I really hope you can give us good news whithin a few days….
Have a nice day you all.

Than maybe matching is complete!
February 28th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
Be interesting to see if those agencies have any LID’s anywhere close to being after 1/4. Maybe they are getting referrals for 1/4 but the cut off could be after 1/4 but before their next LID. I hope we see more days.

Another small batch should not surprise anyone, really. With the Olympics just around the corner, a slow down, if nothing else, is more likely to occur IMHO. After the Olympics, I expect a “speed up”, like 15 day LID batches.

Try using plain old Vaseline on your hands. As a nurse, I once had a dermatologist tell me that it was the best thing to use to repair your hands. I have tried it and it works great. Most lotions have some type of alcohol in them which can lead to more dryness. Another great option is A/D ointment. P.S. with a LID of January 12, I will be very grateful if we go to the 4th.
