January 4 or 5
We now have at least four agencies (maybe 5) saying the cut off is January 4. I’m sticking with an R3 that the 4th is the cut off, though I’ll give it an R4 that the 4th is included.
We also have one agency saying the cut off is January 5, and one agency telling their January 5 families that they “have reason to believe they may be in this batch”. I think I’m staying with an R1 on this one for now.
To my knowledge, the “box” has not changed yet for either matching or review.

Is the “January 5th included” rumor coming from a US agency?

When do we anticipate them being mailed? Any ideas?

Yay, very exciting! I love this time of the month when referrals are near. Good luck to all the end of December and early January parents-to-be. Here’s hoping that CCAA surprises us and goes even further into January than expected. Hope you will all be “meeting” your baby very soon!
And as always, thanks RQ, for the wonderful updates. They are so precious during this incredibly long wait.

I checked with our agency today (we are 1/5 LID) and they said that they have not seen anything come in and that DHL didn’t have anything for us. I’m guessing it’s next month for us, but I’d be happy to be surprised.

Has anybody heard anything about how they will be handling travel for those of us who might be travelling after the Olympics? There has been talk that there will be no travel during the Olympics so will all the travel times extend accordingly? Or will they compress groups to get back to the usual waiting times for travel?
Cheers to all

Just_the-Ticket. I heard from my guide that referrals would continue to occur during the Olympics, but that TAs would not be issued until AFTER the Olympics…I would assume that will mean some larger travel groups for some agencies if they have LIDs close together…I suspect for most agencies it will be there will be a longer lag time between travel for those months…

I thought it was posted a while back that adoptions would go on as usual during the Olympics, but that Beijing would be bypassed?

Catherinethegreat: Thank you, that is what we thought. It means we will have to wait a little longer to travel. The good news is that even with RQs horrid scenarios, which is in-keeping with our agency’s prediction, we “should” have our baby before Christmas.
Cheers to all!

At least one agency has told their clients the “box” has changed – it’s been posted by one couple on their blog. Not sure it’s kosher to post the blog URL here, tho.. I found it via my daily Google search feeder for “China CCAA”. I hope so very much that the news is good next week – and that we can finally say Farewell to 2005. I have watched with growing (and sometimes guilty) horror the past 2.5 years as the Wait has increased… my own dossier went to Beijing on 17 March 2005, was logged in on 7 April 2005, and my daughter has been home with me for just over two years. It just doesn’t seem fair to all of you caught in this mess. Just wanted to let you know, even tho my own daughters are home, you are not forgotten – our hearts go out to you, and we are proud of you, as well, for sticking to it in the face of such adversity – it is oh-so-worthwhile!!

Thank you, akindofmagick. Your empathetic words are very appreciated! Looks like Jan 4 – I’ll take 8 days gladly over anything less than that. If we continue with 8 day batches, we’ll be “in” this year!

akindofmagick, Thanks for post this info. Can you PM me with the url to the blog mentioned above? Since it sounds like it is a public blog, hopefully it’s not a faux pas to ask. :)
